Here are some new photos of Nicole Kidman filming a new movie in England on Sunday evening. She was filming under the Waterloo Bridge. The new film is called Paddington – it’s a film about the famous Paddington Bear, a popular set of books and stuffed animals (and it’s a TV cartoon too, right?). I had a Paddington Bear – a genuine one, from London – when I was a kid. I loved Paddington. This film is going to be a live-action kids’ film with a CGI bear, I’m assuming – it will be like the kid-friendly Ted. Ted even sort of looked like Paddington Bear, which is really funny now that I’m thinking about it. Guess who voices the CGI Paddington? COLIN FIRTH. Which is perfection.

Anyway, these photos sadly lack any Paddington Bear. Nicole Kidman plays Millicent, some kind of anti-Paddington villainess. Thus, the blonde wiglet of DOOM. That wiglet really does make her look harsh and like a proper villainess. But the first thing I thought of was Nicole’s recent Jimmy Choo ads, where she wore a ginger bob wiglet. She’s really getting into wigs these days, right? While I thought the wig in the Jimmy Choo ads looked out-of-place, I guess the wig makes sense here. Also: the lighting is doing her no favors.

In other Kidman news, I think it was last year when she bought the rights to Kevin Wilson’s The Family Fang. Kidman wanted to produce it and star, and she’s been quietly developing the project. Well, she just hired Jason Bateman (yes, that Jason Bateman) to star in AND direct the film. Interesting.
