Here are some new photos of Gwyneth Paltrow in Paris yesterday evening. She was at the Printemps Haussmann department store, unveiling the new “Noël, Joyeuse Obsession by Prada” window. Obviously, she wore Prada to the event. I kind of don’t hate it. The dress fits, the white-and-black is a bit fussy but cute, and it still feels kind of holiday-themed. I even like her hair here, even though she’s still doing the dreaded center part – her hair looks very fluffy here, which is what I like. I prefer my Goop with fluffy hair rather than thin, lifeless, flat-ironed hair. I’m assuming Gwyneth got a decent paycheck for this appearance – Gwyneth consistently feathers her nest with these paid appearances all around the world. Just like Stacy Keibler.
Have you checked out this week’s Goop-letter? This week’s Goop is all about French-style “deconstructed tasting menu experiences” which are bargain-basement for peasants: under $100! For appetizers, basically. She also Goops about Art as Therapy but the best part is her newest collaboration (because Goop is basically just a fancy online boutique at this point). Goop’s collab this week is with Paperless Post, and she’s “designed” a line of cards. Cards which feature some vintage photos of Goop. Doesn’t everyone want that? What better way to send a thank you card to someone than to use cards with Gwyneth Paltrow’s face on them?
Which brings me to this interesting article/editorial from The Guardian – you can read it here. The Guardian’s Tanya Gold asks, “Why do so many women hate Gwyneth Paltrow?” The editorial is all about how Gwyneth has become a tabloid target of scorn and how Vanity Fair is gleefully going after her. Tanya’s argument goes off the rails a little bit when she compares Gwyneth to Samantha “Women Hate Me Because I’m So Beautiful” Brick, but I guess the larger point Gold makes is this: “I do not know if Graydon Carter would self-identify as a feminist, but I am certain that the loathing of Brick and Paltrow is largely driven by women.” As in, if you criticize Gwyneth, well you’re obviously just a self-hating woman, a spiteful female misogynist who loves to gang up on “the pretty girl.” My answer to that criticism: I make fun of Gwyneth because she’s an elitist snob, a product of nepotism, a hypocrite, a liar and a fake. Her “advice” is out-of-touch at best and downright dangerous at worst.

Someone’s been hitting up the fillers….
Her face is TIGHT.
Thermage – RF…she admitted to once. Must have gotten it again.
Plus, some fillers – likely Resty in the under eye hallows to upper cheek transition.
Botox to forehead and 11’s.
No botox to outer brow – see crow feets and crinkling when she smile – left alone – so she wouldn’t look frozen. Let some expression so to speak.
Dr. Karyn Grossman in Santa Monica is her derm, and this looks like Grossman’s work.
she sure is! I do like the dress though the styling is pretty dull.
BINGO! 🙁
I personally think she fell off the Goop wagon for a week or so…having traded in the kale chips for some sweet potato fries. In other words: that ain’t “filler” in the synthetic sense; that is FAT.
Fug.
read “black & white Prada” and thought “what could go wrong?”.
well…
^^^^^This.
I like the dress, it’s very pretty. But the styling is meh. Her hair, makeup and accessories are lacking sparkle.
I agree. The dress is pretty, it’s her styling that’s a little lackluster. Maybe part of the problem is that she’s clashing with the window display.
“”Goop’s collab this week is with Paperless Post, and she’s “designed” a line of cards. Cards which feature some vintage photos of Goop. Doesn’t everyone want that? What better way to send a thank you card to someone than to use cards with Gwyneth Paltrow’s face on them?””
rofl
Do they have her pics or is she just using pics to shill???…as in these are my photo frame cards, looks how fabulous I’ve always looked, put your pic here.
i think she’s just using the pictures to sell the cards-i think they’re photo cards, that you can insert a picture in. i actually think some of the cards are quite lovely, but you can find similar things at target really.
Well…to be fair, they can be used to thank someone who can then use them for target practice. So being a frugal peasant, they have done double-duty!
The dress is very pretty, but I’m very meh on Goop wearing it.
Off to purchase cards with Goop on it. I’m going to frame them and hang them all over our apartment to remind myself that I too can aspire to overcome being a peasant.
She’s such an a-hole. I do like the dress though.
The dress is pretty.
So looking through your old pictures and putting them on a card is called “designing” these days?
I was looking at those cards yesterday. I don’t do paperless post but do the cards only come with GP’s photos on them? Or can you swap out the photos for your own? They weren’t terrible designs, but my friends and family would wonder why the hell I was sending them cards with random blonde children on them.
Great summary on why she is disliked! These are basic values a lot of people grow up with: humility, independence and just basic empathy. Not to say everyone in the earth is a perfect poster child of them, but when someone goes against the grain of them all like Gwyneth has publicly – how can you not dislike them? Where there is smoke, there is fire and her philosophy that she’s not doing anything to bring on this “hate” and that people who criticize her are “haters” is delusional at best. Sure, maybe some have a total vendetta against her but I don’t think it would do this woman (and the rest of us) any harm for her to STFU and sit DOWN with a piece of humble pie.
Earth, Gwyneth! It’s nice to walk on sometimes!
As for those cards- I totally would believe her placing her own family on them and believing others would want to purchase, but J think those are the type of cards you slip your own photo in? But it’s pretty telling that people believe that G thinks we want holiday pictures of the Paltrows. She may have expensive tastes, but the woman is CHEAP in whatever qualities thatbare opposite of vanity and conceit.
even with all the fillers she still needs photochop desperately.
the idea of receiving a card with her goopy mug on it as a thank you would make me throw up a little and disown the sender.
her ego makes the universe small in comparison.
“Paltrow – successful, opinionated and seemingly happy – now emits Goop, her very silly website that aches for parody with its monied rustic fantasies and inspirational monologues about fruit”
the journalist basically answers herself.
I guess that’s fluffy hair for Goop…
Agreed. I didn’t see “fluff” as much as “slight bend” in otherwise somewhat lackluster hair. I like the dress and the makeup, though. I don’t hate her either. Although all this VF nonsense may change that.
Love the dress. She looks good here. Anyone read on E! That her publicist denied everything about the Vanity Fair debacle? Interesting….
Same pr guy that denied that Jen and Brad were splitting 2 weeks before…wait for it 🙂 yep, they split. Even in those circumstances, Jen was so much more gracious and appreciative to him and all than Gwyneth is now or ever!
I LOVE that dress! Horrible shoes though. What has she done to her face though? She looks like Renee Zelwieger, and not in a good way.
The dress is nice. But her hair is her worst feature, always so lifeless and bland and like she’s stuck in the 80s with that middle part. And CONDITIONNER, has she never heard of it (or talked about it on Goop?!!). Her hair is damaged, dry and so “crispy” looking all the time. She seems relatively young to have such a old looking neck, it’s so wrinkly for her age, more like mid-50s when the neck goes usually.
Sadly, I think her droopy neck is not at all that unusual. I’m around her age and my neck has been scaring me in recent years. My dermatologist said I have the type of skin that will droop and sag more than others. Lucky me (and her, I think).
I’m 41 like Gwyneth and I also don’t think her neck looks unusual for her weight, age and skin tine. Most of my slender, fair Caucasian friends (and myself as well) have similar looking necks. Honestly my neck (as well as Gwyneth’s) would probably look a little better with a little extra weight. I don’t want to gain weight (I really can’t afford to buy new clothes) but my face and neck would probably look younger with an extra 15 pounds.
In terms of her face, Gwyneth definitely had something done recently. Fillers and some Botox maybe?
I am 43 and I have a very smooth neck, no droop, no rings or wrinkles.
Make sure your diet is clean. (No, not Goop “clean”). Eat a lot of vitamin c (oranges), and vegetables like tomatoes and carrots. Also consume a lot of olive oil, fish oil. Then, too, water. At least two liters a day.
These things keep collagen plump and healthy. What you want to avoid is sugar, starch, too much salt…these things break down collagen tissue and then wrinkling/sagging is caused.
Also, when you talk, do not use your neck/chin for “expression”, i.e. drawing your chin in severely to underscore surprise or disapproval, and in doing so creating wrinkles. Keep your head high and neck “swan like”.
Try these things and you just might see some very nice improvement
First of all, “Moo!” for that sequined (?) cow pattern. Second of all, the shape of that dress doesn’t flatter someone that thin. Third of all, never before have I appreciated so much why someone might use tanning lotion–she should have worn some tights with this so she didn’t blind anyone with those legs.
I like the polar bears’ dresses; Gwyneth, however, looks like she’s been rolling in melted asphalt…
Maybe it’s just me, but there is something so completely rage-inducing about articles that snottily inform me of why I must “actually” feel such and such a way about such and such a thing. It’s right up there with the non-apology “I’m sorry if what I said made you think I meant it as an insult” (which roughly translates out to “I’m sorry you aren’t smart enough to know what I was saying” and has, several times, rendered me into a snarling rage-beast of ire.) I don’t misunderstand my feelings about GP – based on what I’ve read of her ~own writing~, interviews SHE chose to give and the trusted statements of a few friends who have actually met the woman, I think she is a self-involved, self-righteous, snotty twit who isn’t nearly as intelligent and relevant as she believes herself to be. (One of the friends I trust is, without a doubt, the sweetest most compassionate soul I’ve ever known. The kind of woman who always desperately tries to see the good and works to find reasons/rational for behaviors that will allow her to view a person in a better light. My total opposite, basically. And when SHE says “I just… I just don’t understand why the woman is such an unmitigated ass” I start looking for signs she must have caught Gwyneth eating live kittens or something. She didn’t want to go into it, just gritted her teeth, shook her head, and ended with “I’m sure her momma loves her, but maybe she shouldn’t have been taught to love herself so much!” and refused to be drawn.) I don’t hate her money, her career or her life. Not jealous of her looks or secretly wishing I had what she does – frankly, I think I likely have the happier life. I don’t have an agenda… I just wish she would either go away or have something happen that causes her to pull her head out of her backside and stop acting like the 2nd coming.
This! THIS! THHHHIIIIIIISSSSS! ^ Kudos. I don’t know if I’ve seen a better example of someone who puts themselves on a pedestal then talks about how self-deprecating they have spent their life being. Someone who talks about being their “whole – self” but then is clearly missing the point on friendship, love, etc. Someone who is evolved but continuously talks about they shit they say they are over or are too mature for. This double-sided, back talk is ridiculous. You can’t preach about how you’re better than something and how people will always talk shit “screw the haters” while actively trying to get what little posse you have and people who don’t actively know you to take your side in an argument you’re too big for to begin with.
I typically find multiple qualities in all women that I admire or wish I had more of in knowledge, personality and features. It’s not jealously in the least, but something I specifically appreciate about THAT person. ( god her energy is just white light; her laugh is infectious; she always manages to make her point with such grace; in the history of of eyes – no one has had prettier; she has the best taste in handbags; how does someone wear white and never seem to get anything on it; gosh, the way she talks about her family is infectious – who wouldn’t want to spend holidays with them; wow her knowledge about finances is astounding; she aways finds the best books or movies.) That being said, I CAN FIND NOTHING, NOTHING I admire of any real value about or wish I had about GP other than perhaps a few random pieces of clothing a few times a year and her overall net worth but there’s absolutely nothing I would trade from my life to get them.
She’s just so smug.
I completely agree. I hate the “you’re just jealous” response to criticism, and definitely don’t care for someone making broad generalizations about why people feel the way they do.
Yes, the blanket “haters, jealous” is so annoying, cruel and usually totally not the case.. Sick of it too and thanks for pointing it out. I have been doing that too. About to quit sites because of it (which I like as a little break now and then and always am complimentary except about Gwyneth) but someone very wise (I think on this site) responded to me once when I was unfairly picked on that those comments are just made by ignorant, mean folks that had nothing intelligent to add to the conversation. So whoever you were, thanks – so true. Now I politely call out the “haters” who hate on other commentators and don’t even see the irony in that 🙂 and I try to defend others when they are bullied by them just because they don’t agree with them over such an innocuous topic as celeb gossip? So thanks for the above people – I couldn’t agree with you more (and even if I did I wouldn’t resort to name calling to you 🙂 All the best to ya!
You all sound the same! Why do you even keep commenting when all you’re doing is repeating each other? She is looks gorgeous here and anyone who denies that really is full of s**t. If she were the mom of a classmate of one of your sons or daughters or a coworker from your office you would think she was beautiful, no doubt. Grow up everyone and move on with your lives.
Goop, is that you?
Wow.
I think she looks horrendous here. The dress is nice, but looks awful on her, Her hair and face look worse than ever. Of course, her narcissistic personality does not help her look one bit.
She is a loathsome human being whom no one should envy or try to emulate. She does great harm to the world (though most of it is indirectly, so it never hurts her one bit). And if I have to explain how the crap she produces and hawks or the type of excessive lifestyle she leads and peddles is harmful, I won’t even bother to try …
Lol. I don’t mind Gwyneth to be honest, but I understand why people dislike her. I think “she does great harm to the world” is a little dramatic. Do you not realize how most of Hollywood spends money and acts this way, they just have a false modesty about it and do it behind closed doors? When I think about people causing great harm to the world, I could think of a lot worse examples than Gwyneth Paltrow. C’mon.
What? how is she loathesome? And what great harm does she do to the world?
I mean, come on… she is a little delusional and elitist, but that is a crazy statement.
@M
It’s interesting to see the difference of opinions here vs. another site I go onto to read celeb gossip. The commenters on the other site are mostly aged 16-28 I think and they seem to generally like her, or at least lack the rage against her like the commenters on this site…
I don’t get the hate either.. I can see how lots of what she says can be eye-roll inducing, but really, she is harmless, IMO.
Gwyneth has a very strong fan base made up of young Coldplay fans (16Y – 25Y). I believe they feel it somehow brings them closer to Chris Martin.
Why do people always come to CeleBITCHY and complain about the bitchy comments? If you want the rainbow and unicorns page, look elsewhere. GP is publicly annoying and some of us peasants like to express our displeasure with her. I don’t think she’s evil but she seems like a superficial, vapid twit.
THANK YOU! Needed to be said…glad others feel same way….I sure do.
I really like that dress, I feel her hair and lack of makeup aren’t enough for this event or the dress. “Gwyneth consistently feathers her nest with these paid appearances all around the world. Just like Stacy Keibler” still LMAO at that comparison, I’m trying to decide if it’s an insult to Stacey.
I just don’t understand this woman, you would think her agent, publicist or lawyer (I would say friends, but I really don’t think she has any) or someone would pull her aside and tell her what is up with her image, but she just keeps digging herself a deeper hole. Greeting cards with her picture on them, WTH. I’m starting to think this article is more about her GOOP image and how it is a giant fail. Is the rich elite even interested in her opinion?
Anyone else see Miley’s bears in that window? Prada taking a cue?
Her face looks fuller, and it ain’t because she’s gained weight, because she’s still super thin.
I find it strange that people think she is super thin. This is a picture of a dress she wore at the Thanks for Sharing premiere worn by a fashion model. Now she is thin!
http://www.style.com/fashion-shows/2014-resort/new-york/lanvin/collection/Lanvin_030_1366.450×675.JPG
I think she looks very normal and fit, not overweight of course, but she was always slender and non curvy which makes her a perfect model for wearing designer clothes.
One of my favorite outfits of her is still that red Gucci suit!

I am a bit meh about this dress, don’t like the design or the shape much.
Thanks for the link to Lanvin dress, yes the model is much thinner but I also think the model’s limbs are more elongated (as models are).
But I think there is photoshop on the legs. Those proportions just don’t look possible if you look at where her waist is in relation to her feet.
I kind of like the dress, but I’m partial to B&W designs anyway. She does look kind of drab though. Stronger makeup or something is needed to balance out the boldness of the dress.
The dress is fug. What’s with the black vomit pattern? Reminds me of Kristin Stewart’s Marchesa Sasquatch gown.
Looks like clumps of black tar stuck to her dress. I say FUG.
Well put Kaiser!!
Women don’t just hate women because they’re prettier/better/smarter than us etc., we’re more evolved than that. We can actually dislike another woman because she’s not a nice person, period.
She irritates me because she neglected a very promising career to make it work with a dweeb-turned-rock-star, and now overcompensates by Mrs.-Elliott-ing (“my friends tell me I’m awesome!”) about how superior she is despite her self-inflicted over-the-hill status.
I don’t hate her but she is insufferable and worse – a deviant. The vf article is going to be svathing. Her only chace for redemptoon is sincete regret and alot of humilty but narcissism will prevail. Even though She will be exposed as a homewrecker , frenemy, and a cheater. She will somehow make herself the victim. She already is with all this contrived feign of being offended and threats in the guise of boycotting. All these years of seeming wholesomeness were a ruse. Its hard to sympathise when she’s really just facing delayed consequences for horrendous actions and betrayals. Whatever fan base she has will be sorely disappointed with possible backlash re her career. Hmility and shame are her only defense nut you know how the self-centered are. There will merely be statements like “we all make mistakes….” but again most of us consider a mistake to be more on a smaller scale or shallow level not to be compared with intentional or premeditated scheming. Again, I don’t hate but I do appreciate justice. Team Madge!
Well i don’t agree with that Guardian article. I don’t like her simply because she is not interesting at all and seems just to care about her looks nothing more. It is nor because she is pretty or successful (I mean there are people with much more qualities to “envy” like Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett, Scarlett Johanson, Rachel Weisz or Jennifer Lawrence and I love them all), it is for her unlikable personality.
Isn’t that dress a bit too young?
The dress almost looks like something Audrey Hepburn would wear in the movie “Sabrina”. It does look very whimsical and youthful. I suppose a 40-something year old could still wear it, but it does look on the young side.
i’m conspiracy-theorizing here, but she’s been seen without the engagement ring a lot lately. i think those two are on the rox
Have been since they purchased the 3rd adjoining house in London many years ago. All sources say Chris is great, she’s a witch. She blocks him every time he tries to divorce her (uses kids) so he just has learned to ignore her. Even now, they are always apart except for children drop offs. It is really tragic for him, now he is afraid to leave because she is not capable of even parenting at this point.
She doesn’t look bad, but doesn’t seem to be accept in her age…
Just because the dress fits, Gwynnie, does not mean it will look good on you!
I like the dress.
I was there. I can say one thing: She’s the most pretentious celebrity!
She spends 100,000’s of thousands a year on her looks and 80 of her time and energy on it. Sadly she is not attractive inside or out. Damage control so ridiculous. And she does literally walk around with her nose stuck up in the air – it’s true!!!
BTW, been too busy with peasant probs and not in mood to hear about hers. Checking this tonight because I have a horrible stomach thing (which unlike Loopy Goopy is not self-induced) and you know what? I know I am going to sound like a total dork here but….the comments here were so well written, so brilliant, really. And so human and refreshing to see people want a site where there isn’t any in-house bitchiness! Seriously, kudos to you all. The celebs that open themselves up and beg for the attention, receive obscene amounts of money for nothing, deserve it. The celebs that are low key don’t as much but even then it is a small price they all, even the cool ones, have to pay. The kids sadly get hurt too often but the good parent celebs usually keep them safe. Then there is this one…Gwyneth…worst of the worst. Has been the most awful for decades so she is more than fair game. She just won’t stop putting it out there. Us, we are just basically all pretty nice people that are taking a little break for laughs and or to make a social comment and don’t deserve the bullying of each other and so glad to see so many of you here pointing that out! And your assessments of her and why she is disliked are right on and so eloquently written. And I have had the disgusting displeasure of meeting her in my teens (she was horrid) and have had friends stuck working with her last few years and believe me…. your remarks were so accurate. Maybe some of you know her to or not, but perceptive and well written either way. So sorry to be corny and at this point none of you guys will even see this since a few days has passed but for the record just wanted to say it – you are a pretty amazing group.
