Back in May of this year, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev broke up. I was happy about the split because my soul is black. I hoped that Nina would use the breakup to create a great post-Ian version of herself, complete with cute clothes and a new, hot boyfriend. What she ended up getting was the same old clothes (only more cleavagey) and Derek Hough. Well, Derek and Nina broke up a month ago, and it’s taken that long for Nina to take stock of her options from here on out. She could try to reboot her image and be the cute TV girl who tries to uptrade her way into a bigger-name Hollywood boyfriend. Or she could just own who she is and B-list, creepy level of fandom that comes from dating Ian. She chose Ian.
Could our favorite TV couple be rekindling their real-life romance?! E! News has learned that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have been hooking up as of late. Insiders say that it’s still too soon to tell if they’ll make a full reconciliation, but the two are definitely getting hot and heavy once again.
This certainly bodes well for fans of the hit CW show… The twosome just won the coveted spot in E! Online’s Best TV Couple of All Time Tournament. E! News caught up with the Damon and Elena actors on their Atlanta set to share the amazing news. And suffice to say, the duo was overwhelmed by the honor.
“I mean it’s crazy!” Nina said of the win. “The Delena fans are so passionate and so enthusiastic and such rabid lovers of Damon and Elena’s chemistry and their relationship that obviously we’re incredibly flattered and excited about it. It is really awesome!”
Ian added. “Relationships are hard in real life, and they’re exceptionally hard in Mystic Falls because when you have happiness in Mystic Falls, you have no drama. And if you have no drama, you have no TV show.”
But it looks like the onscreen drama doesn’t carry into their personal lives. Despite breaking up in early May, the two have remained close friends and complete professionals during filming for the show.
“There’s no bad blood between them,” a source told us at the time of the split. “There was no other person involved or any big fight.”
The source said the two decided to call it quits after realizing that Dobrev wasn’t ready to settle down as much as Somerhalder wanted to.
The insider added, “This wasn’t something out of the blue.”
And clearly, there’s no animosity between the two Hollywood stars. In fact, just last week the 24-year-old beauty just sent well wishes to her former flame for earning a People’s Choice nomination in the Best SciFi Actor category.
But the most important nod that the two got was for Favorite On-Screen Chemistry. Hmm…something tells us Dobrev and Somerhalder are a shoe-in for the trophy!
Somerhalder’s rep told E! News that “they don’t comment on their client’s personal lives.”
Well, I’m happy for them. Better the devil they know. Ian wanted to get the 50 Shades of Grey part so, so much, so getting back with Nina is his consolation prize this year, and I think he’s probably the happiest when he’s with her. As for Nina… she knows that she could probably do better, but why try to reach for the stars and have to settle for another Derek Hough? Yes, Ian is the better choice. So… yay?

TVD’s spin off show The Original is better. Does anyone watch it? I love it. well i was already a Klaus’s fan but still it’s good.
Now, i still watch TVD but i’ve never been one to ship DELENA / STELENA but i think stefan is just so much better than damon. people just love the “bad” boys. i prefered Bill over Eric on TrueBlood. i can not stand delena fans and damon’s fans. they worship Ian Smolderholder like God. and when you watch Ian’s interview, he comes off as very arrogant and he seems so very aware of his popularity and it just rubs me the wrong way and i don’t like his acting/his portrayal of damon.
I’ve never been a fan of Ian Somerhalder – he does come off as very smarmy, and don’t get me started on his attempts at “educating” people about political issues when he is so very ignorant about certain things. However, re the actual show, is Damon really worse than Stefan? If you add up the body counts and all the things they’ve done, I think they’re at least equally bad. I think Elena would be better off without either of them.
I stopped watching the show in the middle of season 4 and I never really liked ” Delena” or ” Stelena” either. In my opinion, they both deserve better than Elena.
Yes, he can be quite preachy about his enviormental issues, so much so that if I see one more tweet from him about it I am going to pull my hair out, but at least he is an actor trying to do some good in the world so you have to give hm that. On top of that, preachy or not, he has to be one of the best looking guys alive.
As for whether or not Ian and Nina’s relationship was real or pr-related I have no idea but as far as Hollywood couples go. they seemed quite genuine so I hope this story is true about them being a couple again.

I only know of her because she is Canadian and got her break on Degrassi. See, we have better Canadians then Avril and Bieber. Case in point her and Shenae Grimes.
And Drake “aka” Aubrey Graham. He, Grimes and Dobrev all got their acting breaks on Degrassi.
I do know these people, but I feel out of touch whenever people talk about reality show stars aside from the obvious Kardashian types or Brandi Glanville (I just can’t resist reading the crazy LeAnn stories). Teen moms and most of the real housewives? No clue.

This is great news to me cos I love Ian & they are a cute couple but I understand Nina not wanting to settle down yet cos I’m kinda going the same thing, I’m 23 & in my final year in college, My BF has been dropping hints of wanting to get married or at least get engaged when I’m done with school & I dont really want to do any of that yet but I dont know how to tell him that because he always sound so excited when talking about it so I’m excited about graduation but I’m not looking forward to that conversation. I know there’s nothing else out there cos all my single friends say that. But I’m sure Nina has tested the waters & she sees that Ian is a better choice & if she gets back together with him, they’ll probably get married cos that’s what he wants..
Yvonne, have the discussion sooner rather than later. Before graduation and definitely before he proposes. If you want to stay with him but not make that commitment yet, I don’t blame you – I’ve never had any desire to get hitched before my thirties though I have lots of happily-married friends. But if he’s thinking y’all are going to get married and that you’re on the same page, it can cause serious problems that might not have ever become serious had you just been upfront sooner. I speak from experience! Good luck 😉

At least it didn’t take her long to figure out that showmancing your costar is better for your career than being an obvious beard for a guy on a reality show.
I don’t believe either relationship is real for a second, but there are at least benefits to her and Ian being together, and I imagine they know each other pretty well after all those years of working together.

I’m not invested in their relationship one way or the other, but why so harsh on Nina? Her romantic life should not be confused with her career. Granted, Nina and Ian play an on-screen couple (haven’t watched this season yet – are they together?), so their dating in real life can be a little awkward. But she has never used her real life to pimp out her show, and has tried to remain private. So, if they want to get together – why not. I hope that doesn’t influence her career – her acting abilities should drive that.

I like him too. I think Nina changed a bit after their break-up, she seemed to hang out just with party friends (the Houghs, ugh!) and wear short shorts (even in the series) and show off her bikini body at every opportunity. I’d like her to get back with him and be a bit more low-key.
In my opinion Ian is pretty much one if the hottest guys out there. I have no idea why he didn’t get the 50 shades part.

I know most people here dont like Ian but I am so in love with him but since I cant have him, I want him to have who he wants & Nina is pretty & seems like a cool girl & I love their show but I’m in Nigeria & this season hasnt played yet. I don’t know much about them in real life -partly because they haven’t spoken about their relationship, which, good on them. But if they’re happy together, why not? I don’t think that should influence how we judge Nina, or the trajectory of Nina’s career (which is what the original post seemed to be implying). I may not like Ian, but it’s not like he’s Chris Brown or anything.
