Since it’s never too late to ogle hot dudes, I’m including more photos from the Berlin premiere of The Desolation of Smaug from several days ago. Apparently, you people really wanted to see some of the non-Cumberbatch dudes. Which is fine. More Cumberbatch for me. So, I’m including photos of Benedict Cumberbatch (hahahaha), Martin Freeman, Luke Evans, Richard Armitage, Aidan Turner, Dean O’Gorman and of course Orlando Bloom. Those photos are below.
But of course I’m only writing this because… Cumberbatch. VELVET CUMBY. The Velvet Batching. Blue Cumbervelvet. I could go on. Anyway, Benedict made an appearance at the “Letters Live” event two nights ago (I think?) where he got on stage and read a letter from Alan Turing – he’s playing Turing in The Imitation Game. Ben changes his accent with ease and this video is just total voice p0rn. He looks really amazing here too. JESUS. I can’t.
If you’re not already on the floor with that one, here’s a new DOS interview. His voice is soft here. That’s the voice he’ll use against your thighs. Haha, now I’ve ruined your day. You’re welcome!

Hmmm. All dudes look ok, but even my perennial loves Orly and Armitage fail to wow me on this outing. And the Hobbit himself looks so old!
Martin is really aging a lot these past two years!!! Like wow a lot.
These guys should have all called each other and sorted out who was wearing what so they didn’t all turn up wearing the same thing.
“I’ll wear the navy blue suit if you wear the sapphire blue suit. Benny’s wearing the velvet blue suit so I’ll wear the non-velvet blue suit”. They all look pretty though.
And Cumby’s voice is like honey on my warm toast. Gooey and golden! *disappears to make toast*
Gooey and golden — yes!
*grabs honey to disappear into bedroom*
😉
I’m gonna need that honey back Ms Slippers!
Or perhaps not…
Ohhhhh….I suppose I’ll need to restock the pantry, eh?
Okay fine.
*grumbles*
Mmmm, Richard Armitage…mmmm. That’s all I can say.
He got me at ‘roll around and do some physical stuff’. Yes, yes you can.
Aw… Richard Armitage looks like an older Daniel Radcliffe.
Sometimes all it takes is a man in an expensive, well-tailored suit to make me remember why life is beautiful.
Thank you, Kaiser. I salute you.
The Turing letter reading was beautiful and so sad.
I am extremely interested in how Benedict will handle the Alan Turning saga. He’s a good actor, as long as his supporting cast is also strong, and this is an important story in the world.
As for the photos…thank you for Martin Freeman! Both he and Benedict look classy and handsome, same for the lovely Richard Armitage (though I do miss his beard.)
The Turing letter reading…just wow.
He’s brought a beautiful, funny, touching letter to life.
The Turing letter was read beautifully and it is very touching and tragic. The poor man was prosecuted for his relationship with the young man and offered imprisonment or chemical castration. Because of the important work he was doing he chose chemical castration and it messed him up so much he killed himself.
This man was instrumental in shortening World War 2 by solving the Enigma Code. Alan Turing saved, probably, millions of lives and that was how he was thanked by his country.
I am so looking forward to the film. I am sure Benedict will portray him beautifully.
100% agree with you. I am really looking forward to the film.
Turing’s story is utterly heartbreaking and I hope the film does it justice.
That’s not a flattering picture of Richard Armitage. He is so lovely in interviews but if I didn’t know who that is, after seeing this picture (or many other pictures of him) I would probably ask who is this sleazy dude and who would ever want to see him. He, like Cumberbatch, is one of those people who look completely different and much better in motion though. And both have gorgeous voices.
As for the videos – I wish I could watch them right now. But I will have something to look forward to which is also nice.
Aidan Turner was so amazing on Being Human. Basically stopped watching after he left…I didn’t realize he was in the Hobbit, but now I remember him. There was one dwarf who had a funny hat and very compelling face. Just realized it was Mitchell the vampire!
Where is Lee Pace??? I’ve loved him since Pushing Daisies. I even watched Posession, a remake of the Korean film.
BTW, if you watch Posession, turn off the movie when the reveal happens and find the alternate ending on YouTube. Muuuuch better.
Lee Pace was not at the LA or the German Premieres, so no pictures. He must have been otherwise engaged.
Work commitments?
Orlando, where is the plastic lapel rose to match your 39.99-gentleman’s-boutique, highly flammable suit? Where has all the hotness gone?
LOL @ 39.99-gentleman’s-boutique, highly flammable suit
That’s messed up lmao 🙂
As excited as I am for the second installment of The Hobbit……just give me my Sherlock back, dammit!
I know! I’ve told the kids if we win the lottery I am SO going to be in the UK for 1 Jan 2014. I’m going through some serious Sherlock withdrawal and obviously *cannot* wait until the US showing.
I might be the only one, but I think only TommyAnne should get to wear the velvet jacket.
There is no doubt in my mind that BC will do great justice to the role of Turing. I doubt Keira Knightley will bring much to the table, though, and I worry it’ll make the movie bland and dull.
Cumby was cute as a button on Conan last night, but definitely more nervous than he was on Kimmel. Those hands were scratching and twitching away for the whole interview.
The entire episode isn’t up yet, but you can find a couple of good clips here:

I will only comment to say that I hope Kaiser has an upcoming post on his Conan appearance!
I don’t think you should worry. She will have
a story. I think she is the one squeezing the
life out of the bunny.
The shower discussion was amazing!
Bow-chikka-wow-wooow
“it looks like you’re confused by water!”
“that’s how I shower, I turn slowly”
followed by his drunk face.
The more interviews I see with him, the more I like him and think, god he would be just amazing craic to go out for a drink with. He’s got just the right amount of humour and self deprecation that I just love.
You and me both. Plus he’s smart — another trait I adore.
Dwarves, Elves , Hobbits Oh My!
The Turing letter is Awesome, but he also read two other letters from ww2 that were stunning.
