I couldn’t put my finger on who Beyonce reminded me of in these photos from her weekend album launch party/event. Then it hit me… this is totally something Kim Kardashian would have attempted. Kim’s version would have covered her thighs, I’m sure, but otherwise… this is totally Kardashian. I’m just going on faith that Beyonce is NOT revealing anything, cookie-wise. I can see that she seems to be wearing full-coverage underwear, and I’m not seeing nipples or anything, so let’s just leave it at that. Something nice: I covet Beyonce’s legs, especially her thighs.
I’m also including some photos of Beyonce’s other activities from the past few days, taken from her Instagram. Apparently, Beyonce was in Tewksbury, Massachusetts on Friday and she went to a… Wal-Mart. Seriously?! Beyonce’s getting better at promotional stunts, isn’t she?
Going to Walmart has never been more exciting. Tewksbury, Mass., locals were in for a treat on Friday when they strolled their neighborhood spot, only to find none other than Beyoncé picking up her secretly dropped album from the store.
Just a couple hours before headlining The Mrs. Carter Tour at the TD Garden, Queen Bey headed to the suburb about 20 miles northwest of Boston, where she took over the store intercom.
Blue Ivy’s mom made the following announcement for shoppers, caught on video (above) to the sound of cheers: “It’s Beyoncé. I stopped by the store today because my record just arrived. I want to send everyone a little gift. For everyone in the store right now, the first $50 of your holiday gifts are on me. Merry, merry Christmas from Beyoncé.”
Her contribution to the 750 customers made for a total of $37,500 in gift cards, according to a rep for the singer.
Clad in a blue dress and black leather jacket, Beyonce pushed a shopping cart around the store and interacted with shoppers and employees, and even did a little shopping. She had several items, including a doll and pink toys, in her cart, as fans trailed.
Beyonce also bonded with a little girl in the store, and chatted with the blonde toddler while holding her in her arms.
“It really was fun,” said one employee. “I was just glad I was here.”
That’s really nice. No shade. I always think it’s a nice stunt when a celebrity’s like “I’m paying for this!” Also – the night before her whirlwind Wal-Mart excursion, Beyonce partied at… Dave & Buster’s…? Seriously, what’s going on? Did someone tell her that she needed to stop being so elitist and Goopy? According to Us Weekly, she played Dance Dance Revolution, took photos with normals and posted with a specialty cake made by the Cake Boss people.

Nice. She looks pretty blonde.
Take that Target! Queen B has struck again. See, if you had played nice with Bey that would have been your store where she was giving out gift cards to your customers. instead you have to deal with hackers hacking your system. Don’t mess with Beyonce.
See I don’t think so, it’s a nice thing she did don’t get me wrong, but had Target not been butts about it I don’t think she would have showed up to either store. I think this was done as payback. Regardless, it was a awesome thing and made me chuckle when I read about it yesterday.
I don’t think so either and I wasn’t being serious. This was just continuous snark on my part that started last week when I accused Beyonce of of cursing the heavens and making hell rain down on Target with that hacking incident. BTW which came out the day after we read Target wouldn’t sell her CD. I also accused Bey of cauisng the blackout at the Super Bowl. That girl is powerful.
ha, I didn’t even realize that, that’s hilarious.
V4Real, your posts are crackin me up! 😀
Beyonce shops at Target,my aunt met her in July in Houston and eats @Popeyes she has no problems with us peasants.
“Beyonce shops at Target,”
Not anymore 🙂
Love Popeyes….
Y’all make me want to get some Popeyes now…
Seriously, I’m in awe of this broad after listening to her new album and I agree she took down Target with their pettiness !
She also loves her Nandos. Shes famous for her massive orders after concerts. Beyonce was never uppity. She lounges on her yatch (she earned it) but she clearly still likes her down home treats.

Cant knock the hustle, she is working her cult of personality thing with cute angles and getting her money on!
hey why buy a CD for the music when you can buy it because the person shops at the same store you do?
ITA – she doesn’t ever flash the goods. Her dress might be super tight and revealing, but no nip and her “under carriage” seems to be fully covered. Not my idea of fashion, but it really works on her.
I love the man’s face (white turtleneck) in the background, his life is made!
That guy’s face has totally made my day!
Hee hee hee ! Awesome.
LOL!!! thank you for drawing that to my attention! That face is awesome!
I didn’t even notice that! Priceless expression! The bald man standing near Beyonce looks more ‘confused’ than anything, but maybe he’s one of her body guards (& is in ‘business mode’)?
These are all awesome PR moves. Whatever you think of her, you’ve got to give it to her in the way this album has been released and promoted. She has up the ante with all female artist. They must be throwing shade at their own PR people for not thinking of this shit. They will all be trying to do something like this now
Except that of female artists only Beyonce and (ironically enough, seeing at she went in completely the opposite direction) Gaga genuinely have fanbases obsessive enough to make that “sudden drop” move work. Rihanna and Katy Perry et al are considered more “singles artists” – they need airplay of radio-friendly tracks to fuel album sales.
Or maybe Taylor Swift? She sold 1.2 million copies of Red in her first week…
I’m starting to doubt that about Gaga. Her latest album is on life support.
This successful Itunes move will probably make people in the music industry nervous. Why should labels pay $$$$ in advertising to the big box and INDIE stores; when they can go directly to iTunes. Of course it depends on the artists.
Then why would Target or Ebay sell her hard copies or albums without any good reason that they could make a profit and not be left holding loads of unsold inventory? Beyonce made a major business decision and these other corporations made theirs, personally as a business major Beyonce made a bad decision which is a killer to the music industry and sales in record stores if you are willing to give away stuff and cut out many venues, other artists might do the same then what would eventually happen to record sales in stores? Worst than that everybody don’t have the means of getting their music by the venue that she chose, poor people, older people that are not savvy with modern trinkets. Beyonce business move is selfish, and full of self doubt about her own talent and without thought for the long term. More major department stores should stop her record sales to stop that trend from happening they are trying to help you the consumer by doing that. Beyonce in my view have not done something great or smart she has done something stupid that will eventually effect poor people lives eventually if more artist follow thru.
I think this is Target’s mistake, as Beyonce’s cd will be in the top 20 for at least another month, if not two.
Beyonce did not make a bad business decision AT ALL. Her album has sold tons of copies, and the “surprise” of it all most likely contributed to that. She probably negotiated a VERY good deal from iTunes for having it be exclusively online for a week. That is making the label and Beyonce a lot of money. Keep in mind physical copies have a higher “cost of goods sold” because they include the cost of cds, jewel cases, printing, etc. The printing process is also the point at which a lot of material gets leaked and therefore, devalued.
Why do I hate her so much??
Probably because she has an almost flawless public persona? Or maybe she is rich, successful, AND seems down to earth. It’s rare to find people in the public eye who can be at the the top of their craft and still seem to have a cordial personality.
I don’t know? I like her but we like or dislike people for sometimes irrational or very valid reasons. No big deal.
MTE
The better question would be why you would open a piece on a celeb you *dislike* (I say dislike because I should hope you reserve your hatred for the abusers and pervs in the industry – people who do deserve such a strong emotion) and even proceed to take time out of your day to leave a comment.
@JojoAnn – If everyone only ever read & commented to stories about people they *liked*, there would be no such thing as gossip sites. Having a negative opinion about someone is just as valid as having a positive one.
I personally dislike Beyonce as well, but it doesn’t mean I have no interest in stories about her or things she does.
This is also the Queen Bey who stopped by a public school unannounced and joined the students in a flash mob.
Oh yeah and her dancing at the Block Party in NJ after visiting Jay’s mom back in 2011 I think. That’s my homegirl.Big Ups to H Town
Every time someone hates on her, I think of the episode of Punk’d she was in and am reminded why I like her. Yeah, this is PR and payback to the max but she doesn’t seem unhappy doing any of it. Hell, she actually seems to be enjoying herself in the footage I saw on the local news.
It’s actually always been a tradition of Beyonce’s, Jay-Z’s and Solange’s to go buy their album. So it’s not like this is a completely shocking move of her to do it. I think she’s doing this because she wants too. I guess it’s Beyonce’s fans who understand she’s more down to earth than people think. She is dating Jay-Z (who takes the subway to his concerts) LOL
She is so beautiful.
To me, she *used* to be gorgeous, before she started lightening her skin & rendering herself completely unrecognizable (from her natural features) by having several plastic surgeries on her face (her nose especially).
I don’t mean this in a ‘hater’ way (or just to be argumentative to your opinion) at all. I just don’t think her current appearance after all those alterations even holds a *candle* to how beautiful she used to be. I know how this will come across, but it honestly looks like she’s done everything in her power to look more like a ‘white woman’.
She was gorgeous as she was, & while it’s *totally* her body & choice to live with, it really doesn’t send a great message to young women (African American or of mixed race like I think Beyonce is through her mother), making it seem like their natural (more commonly African American/other black culture’s) features are unattractive, that they can’t be seen as beautiful unless they alter their features to look more ‘white’.
However “natural” she might appear doing this, the truth is that it is a shamelessly calculated PR move designed to endear her to the public after the Obama inauguration debacle (which was so silly anyway, because everyone with ears knows that she is a very good singer), and send a message to both Target and Amazon: I am important enough to be able to do what I want, and if you mess with me, I’ll make you lose face publicly.
I doubt that the money came out of her own pocket (in the same way that Jay Z probably donated $0 to the Occupy movement from which he so indecently profited). It all has been set up by her PR representatives and Walmart, the “gift cards” were probably paid from the record company’s promotional budget for her album, and it’s rather cheap how the media were informed to show the world how “generous” and “down with the everyman” Beyoncé is.
Yes, Beyoncé is head and shoulders above most singers nowadays and she is nice to her fans (could it be because, I don’t know, it’s her job?). However, she is also incredibly opportunistic, her PR stunts are very well CALCULATED, but they are still just PR stunts, and her music, with the exception of a few of her ballads, is awful in general.
Aren’t all PR stunts calculated? For that matter all PR is calculated. From Mother Teresa visiting an orphanage to Princess Diana photographed with sickly hospital patients, Beyonce is not the only one with a PR machine. It’s wrong to vilify her for having a good PR scheme.
IMO I don’t think Target and Amazon care about this. Go to a Target store and see how small the CD section is. Music is a loss leader. If Target had to depend on music for their profits, they would have went out of business with Circuit City, Borders Music and Books, Virgin Records, Tower Records etc.
I don’t get kardashian with that outfit
I don’t get a Kardashian vibe from it, either. She’s wearing something that fits… And it seems to suit her. Even the boots seem ok to me, Kardashian footgear almost always seems horribly uncomfortable.
$37K is an incredibly small sum to pay for that kind of publicity which is all it is, completely self-serving. It would be nice if celebs like Bey would give money quietly in significant amounts to charities and other causes. This woman is a pathological narcissist and does nothing that doesn’t make her the center of her Universe. Pathetic.
Are you 100% positive that she’s doesn’t quietly give in significant amounts? Because if she did, you wouldn’t know about it… right?
BLAH BLAH BLAH, she does something nice and you bring up she could have done something nicer. Enjoy the story for what it is.
Nice photoshopped thigh gap in the Brooklyn picture. She has great legs, but let’s alter them anyway.
Too photoshopped. Don’t these celebrities understand that pap pictures of them exist?
She looks great but I hate the peep toe boots. I like the boots just not the toes hanging out.
So pretty!
Awww, that’s sweet. Wonder if she donated some canned goods to the Wal-Mart employees while she was there.
I’m pretty sure she already bought several hundred thousand copies of her own CD online, so I’m not sure why she need to go to the store for one.
