As we know from years of experience, the tabloids love to pit women against each other. So take this report for what it might be: conjecture at worst, and embellished insider information at best. It’s still entertaining as hell, and isn’t that the point?
So Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert did a duet together called “Something Bad”. The song isn’t out yet, and is slated for Lambert’s upcoming album, Platinum, which is out June 3rd. This is the first time that Carrie and Miranda have recorded together, although they’ve done live duets in the past. According to the Enquirer, things aren’t going smoothly between the two because they’re like oil and water.
“Carrie can’t stand Miranda,” revealed an insider. “They’re doing their best to publicize the song, but Carrie and Miranda were at each other’s throats throughout the whole process over just about everything…
“For one thing, Carrie is an outspoken animal rights defender and vegan, so she hates that Miranda brags about hunting animals and eating them,” said the insider…
“In an attempt to sway Miranda to her way of thinking, Carrie brought veggie burgers with soy cheese and a tofu stir-fry for lunch one day,” said the insider. “But Miranda turned her nose up and claimed it tasted like cardboard. Then, knowing how disgusted Carrie is by red meat, she ordered a basket of fried chicken and beef ribs then chowed down in front of Carrie.
Miranda, 30, and Carrie, 31, also butted heads over the song they were recording.
“Miranda reached out to Carrie but expected to call all the shots,” explained the insider. “Then Carrie showed up with her own ideas about how they should each vocalize and even talked about changing the lyrics around.
“Miranda shot Carrie down cold, and at that point the gloves came off.
“Carrie started mocking Miranda’s weight issues and marital problems behind her back.”

If this story would have focused more on the alleged professional feud, where Carrie and Miranda couldn’t agree on the direction of their duet, I would have bought it. They’re both hugely successful women who surely have strong opinions about their music. As it is, the ribs vs. tofu burgers story sounds ridiculous, and I don’t believe that Carrie is making fun of Miranda behind her back. Yes Carrie seems like a bitchy mean girl, but this all sounds fake to me. I watch enough “Nashville,” to know that country divas usually argue about their music, and sometimes their men.

I get weird vibes from Carrie. I imagine her to be stuck up, like a country Goop.
Lol. That is exactly it. She allegedly is worse.
C*ntry Divas
She is worse. I believe this one 100000%.
Ha! I came here to post that Carrie was the Goop of Country! Great minds think alike! 🙂
Im from Oklahoma, went to the same college that she did and the rumor is, that she is stuck up. AND she was a meat eater! Before fame..
I mean for cripes sakes, what self respecting dairy farmer supports peta! That makes her sketchy to begin with!
Miranda is 30 and Carrie Underwood is 31? Hmmmmm… I guess those are their “Hollywood” ages just like Lourde is 17. lol
No way are they anything under 40. Just like Akon who was claiming 24 when he was 42.
I have heard through the grapevine in Nashville that Underwood in an insufferable twat and not exactly well liked. People respect her talent but not her attitude.
These rumors haven’t missed a beat with Carrie. She’s always said to be an absolute terror.
So, if any story invvoles Carrie being awful i’m inclined to believe it.
I have a friend who interned at a recording studio years ago, and he met Carrie once when she came in to work on an album. He said she threw a fit because her dog jumped up into the lap of another intern and refused to work until the intern who dared touch her precious dog was fired. I’ll believe any petty mean girl story about her.
She had an intern fired because her dog jumped up on the persons lap? I can’t even comprehend that thought logic, that’s horrible.
Ridiculous story! Come on!
Hm, not what I’ve heard. Carrie’s known to be very good to her road crew and very professional all around.
She’s known to struggle in some social situations and she’s admitted as much though. Major introvert, to a fault. It’s possible she got off to a rough start with some people early in her career.
But talk to anybody who worked with Carrie during The Sound Of Music last year, not just cast but crew. I know somebody who was a stage manager when they took rehearsals to that hangar in Bethpage. They all ADORED her and were telling the kids in the cast they should learn to be like Carrie if they pursue careers in entertainment. Not just because of her work ethic but because she went above and beyond in the courtesy department. The women who played the nuns even wrote and performed a song for her called “Sweet Little Bird Of Jesus In Her Throat” at the wrap party. They weren’t just supportive on a PR level, they actually seemed to really like her.
This “feud” story is just more stupid Enquirer stuff. They just picked up the story of the duet and made something up. Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood may not be BFFs but they’ve always been friendly and very respectful of each other behind the scenes.
The Enquirer’s been running false negative stories on both these ladies for a while now. Just The Enquirer trying to get into the country business, nothing more.
“Sweet Little Bird Of Jesus In Her Throat”
I just had to make sure that this *gem* of a song name didn’t go unnoticed. Oh, who am I kidding. Of course it didn’t go unnoticed…..”in her throat”!? Whaaaaa?
I didn’t watch more than 30min of The Sound of Music, because Carrie was hard to watch since she’s not a natural actress. It’s nice to hear that she was pleasant to the crew and cast, but it doesnt sway any opinions. She was probably being nice to someone who could further her career. She may be introverted, but that just seems like an excuse to me for her being rude to fans.
As for the meat vs vegan thing? It really doesnt matter what issue u side with when the opposite is bragging to you. Miranda doesnt want to hear it and carrie doesnt want to hear it and that’s okay. To each their own. No one likes a preachy peach shoved into their face.
wrong. Miranda had the bird in her throat. Carrie had curd.
The song name does sound ridiculous but I think it was meant to be a compliment to Carrie’s voice.
I’m not trying to sway opinions. Seeing as this is a gossip site, I’m just passing along what I heard since it’s fairly recent. It wasn’t like I even asked this person for the scoop about Carrie, she just mentioned the production and started gushing about how great Carrie was to work with for the cast and crew and how they would tell the kids in the cast to follow her example.
As far as being nice to people who could help her career, it’s not like Carrie’s likely to ever work with these people again. Like you said, Carrie’s really not a natural actress and so it’s not likely she’s going to be trying out for a Broadway role or movie musical role anytime soon. Besides, the person I was talking to is a professional but not exactly some high-powered influential person. I know it’s against the grain on a gossip site to post a positive story but it seemed relevant so I did.
I don’t think Carrie or Miranda is preaching to the other about their eating habits. The Enquirer has its stereotypes of famous women and vegans versus hunters and just plugged some names in, is all.
I have heard this from a friend who paid for backstage/VIP passes to one of her shows, and not only did Carrie only stay for 5 minutes with the group, she wouldn’t allow any photos. And it wasn’t like she was nice, saying that she was sorry or she didn’t feel good…it was just a flat out “Carrie will not be taking photos at this time.”
At least Miranda has talent that extends beyond screaming into the mic.
If their reason why she hates Miranda wasn’t so stupid I might believe it. Carrie doesn’t like women more successful than her, she and Swifty used to be close until Taylor became way more popular and then Carrie cut her out. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if she did the same to Miranda.
Carrie and Taylor were never close. They hung out once at a hockey game because Carrie’s good friends with Kellie Pickler, and at the time Kellie was friends with Taylor. It turned into a photo op that gave people the wrong idea about the three being BFFs. Taylor and Kellie are no longer friends (Kellie’s confirmed this in interviews) but Carrie and Kellie still are.
They might not be BFFs, but this sounds like more tabloid, girls can’t get along, crap. Both of their lifestyles are common knowledge, if either found the other obnoxious about it, why would they agree to work together?
At least Carrie spends some time with the tofu and doesn’t run over turtles with her big ole truck.
Agree. I remember Blake was drunk and tweeted that he purposely swerved his truck to run over a turtle on the road. People were furious and then he pretty much called his fans dumb for believing it because he was only “kidding”. Whether or not he was joking or not, what kind of person would even come up with that and think it was remotely funny at all?
There’s a video of them and she’s putting on lip gloss before they hunt an aligator
Is it rude to eat meat in front of vegetarians?
Depends on the situation – Beyonce wearing fur to a vegan restaurant is definitely trolling, but ordering a steak when your companion is a veggie is fine unless you’re trying to get into their knickers!
I usually ask, out of respect. 19 times out of 20 they’re ok with it as they recognize their vegetarianism as a personal/religious choice.
I do not mind. My husband eats meat, I do not. I am not against eating meat, it is the factory farming I hate.
Thank you for that! I elected to go vegan several months ago…the meat is not what offends most of us, it’s the fact that virtually all meat and dairy products come from factory farms. No matter how much I loved roast chicken, the cruelty, disease and filth of that industry made me convert in an instant!
Ok, thanks. I don’t know that many really strict vegetarians. If it comes up, I’ll ask first. Don’t want to offend or gross anybody out.
Wow Miranda is younger than Carrie? i thought she was at least 5 years older than she is
Me too! Was about to type the EXACT same thing.
Yeah I was going to comment and say I can’t believe Miranda is younger because she has always struck me as “mom-ish” and Carrie looks like a twentysomething
Me too – I’m always surprised when they post Miranda’s age, because I think of her as 40-ish and never remember she’s much younger. And Carrie I think of as in her 20s still. I’d never guess she was the older of the 2.
5!?!?!?! Try 10. It’s hard to believe they’re the same age. Let alone in the same age bracket.
They have 2 of the best bitchfaces in the music business. When they smile they’re all glitters and unicorns but when they’re not posing they look amazingly devilish and bitchy.
amazingly devilish made me laugh like a loon. Tanx,)
I know, isn’t it marvelous? It fits their music, because they both have some murderous/violent songs along with some sweet glittery ballads!
Holy resting bitchface, Carrie!
She honestly reminds me of kate gosselin
I can’t believe they’re practically the same age. I thought Miranda was way older. Now I think it’s because she’s been in the business a long time? Or not? Maybe she just looks older (and I’m hating myself for stating that thought.)
EDIT: I should have looked at comment 7! Sorry for the redundancy!
Good lord, their styling….fake and bake, way too many sparkles and way too much makeup. Yup this is mainstream country music all right.
I thought Carrie was vegatarian, not vegan?
Edit: Miranda and her husband are the worst kind if “hunters” btw. They hunt for sport, and needlessly kill animals that they can’t possibly use as meat or anything else. You can be a hunter and be responsible, humane and respect the animals. They do not. They are trash.
I’ve never understood wasteful/trophy hunting. I lived on a farm, raised and killed our own animals and my extended family and I hunt once a year for boar which are not native to the area I moved from and are an invasive species. Their heads aren’t mounted, pictures aren’t posted on facebook. They’re eaten. Only 2 are taken. It’s not their fault they are there (mostly hogs that escaped, became feral) but they are deserving of our respect.
I guess what I’m saying is, I don’t understand bear/lion hunting. It’s never been a machismo thing for me. You just look like a small johnson for hunting down a predator and taking it out from a quarter of a mile away just to say you can that you’ll just display.
I agree. I married into a hunting family and feel less guilty about eating a deer than I do about buying a steak in a grocery store if I can’t confirm that it was pastured/grassfed/etc. But I can’t get into the hunting shows that my FIL watches. On one show they invited Ted Nugent to fly in helicopters while they hunted boars…it was appalling to me, they way they acted like they were big shots for killing entire family groups, without putting themselves in any kind of danger. I totally get the concept that boars are invasive and need to be culled – but they are intelligent animals and shouldn’t be treated like mindless video game targets.
I’d pay to see a fight between this two
Carrie looks like Kate Gosselin in the pic with the black coat.
Woof.
I’m a pescetarian most of the time, but I can’t hate on hunters who eat their kill, considering we are humans. PETA whiners annoy me way more. However, sport hunters are the lowest of the low — destroying animals ‘because you can’ is despicable. Some of this story may be true, but I doubt they’re totally at each others’ throats. It’s more likely Carrie is whining behind Lambert’s back. Also, Carrie, WORST MARIA EVER.
I don’t pay much attention to country music…not my thing. So, as an outsider, when I look at the photos of them side by side they look like they could be sisters.
Team Carrie. I find Miranda Lambert and her husband totally creepy. Doubt this story is true though.
This can all be explained by the fact one is from Oklahoma and the other is from Texas. Seriously…that red river rivalry runs deep lol
I’m team Miranda in any case because I cant stand when vegetarians try to act all offended when I eat a burger in front of them. Other people don’t exist to make you happy.
I am a vegetarian and I see nothing wrong with hunting animals for food. It shows much more respect for animals lives than factory farming. Trophy hunting is a different story. Most vegetarians I know don’t have a problem with others eating meat in front of them. My boyfriend is a meat eater, we just have separate pans for when we cook. Vegans are another story though. My vegan friends are definetly more agressive and constantly comment on how disgusting things are and really do shove their lifestyle down your throat. How can you tell if someone is vegan? Don’t worry they’ll tell you.
I thought Miranda was in her 40’s, she’s only 30???? Talk about rode hard and put away wet.
Carrie has said in a previous interview that she does mind if people eat meat, she would not impose her veganism on others either.
Miranda is not a trophy hunter. She eats what she kills or donates to charity. I don’t know if Blake was a macho trophy type, but since Miranda, I know he donates the meat now as well.
They’re both over-processed blondes that wear too much makeup and tacky clothes. They have a lot more in common than they may think!
For some reason I thought Carrie was in her 20s and Miranda was mid thirties. Hm.
