Dina Lohan was arrested for a DWI (driving while intoxicated) last September. Dina was three sheets to the wind while driving around Long Island in her BMW (but she’s broke, remember). During the course of the arrest, Dina claimed that the police had assaulted her, a gin-soaked lie that didn’t even last five minutes before Dina withdrew it. A few weeks after her arrest, Dina pled not guilty and was driven away from the courthouse in a Rolls Royce, because pimpin’ ain’t easy. Well, long story short, Dina ended up pleading guilty yesterday:
Dina Lohan has something in common with her daughter Lindsay now … after she pled guilty this morning to aggravated DWI and speeding in a Long Island courtroom … TMZ has learned.
According to courtroom sources, Lohan must do 100 hours of community service. She is expected to have her license revoked and an interlock device will be installed in her vehicle.
We’re told she must also attend a mandatory drinking and driving program, a victim impact panel and also pay the necessary fines and fees.
As TMZ previously reported, Lohan was busted last September with a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit.
“Twice the legal limit” = she was bombed. And she could have killed someone. And they let her get away with a slap on the wrists. I mean, she has to do 100 hours of community service? It’s Long Island, so I bet the community service is more hardcore than it is in LA, but still.
By the way, I haven’t heard much about Dina’s Long Island mansion in a while. Do you think Lindsay used some of her Oprah Money to save her mom’s house? That might explain why the Oprah Money barely lasted a few months. That’s one of the few reasons I have left for pitying Lindsay: her mom is such a user and grifter, especially with Lindsay. Of course, Lindsay learned the art of the grift from her mom, so I guess it’s all even.

Mother of the year, anybody?
I read elsewhere that she was not charged with the speeding because she claimed she was trying to get away from the paps. Presumably, the cop that pulled her over in the middle of nowhere Long Island at night could see there were no paps in sight. Also the troll lawyer just cracks me up.
What is an interlock device?
I believe it’s like a breathalyzer attached to the ignition. You have to blow in a tube before you can start your car and if you’ve been drinking, your car won’t start.
Should be mandatory on everyone in that family. They could rename it a Lohan device.
a Lohan device…awesome! comedy GOLD!
the Blo-Han?
this really does piss me off. She WILL kill someone eventually… Somehow it seems these people always kill other drivers and walk away from it with barely a scratch.
Blimey! I quite like that. Like driving probation.
It is a breathalyzer like Kaiser said, but it doesn’t just stop with that, it also records every time that you are unable to start your car. When you check in with your probation officer you can get in trouble for the times you were unable to start it. I believe it registers with a system automatically if you are drunk and they will come arrest you promptly. I had a friend that just got hers taken off, it was very much an inconvenience and source of stress for her (not that she didn’t deserve it). She is over one year sober now!!!!
That’s a great idea. Do they install it in all of the cars that the person has access to or just the ones registered to them?
@kiddo probably just the one that’s registered to you and maybe other members of your home? But I believe in some states if not all you actually have to pay for that equipment and it’s pricey.
I do like this idea. As important to keep other people safe as it is to punish, really. So this would work.
sometimes they will turn the car off after so many miles or a certain amount of time and retest you.
I think it’s to keep you from drinking while driving maybe? Was never clear on that…
These people are supremely trashy and gross, makes me wonder how Teen Moms Jenelle and Farrah are not Lohans, cause that family has a playbook, and is called “drug and fucking their way around”
Idiot.
Well what chance did Lindsay have with parents like these.
+1
Did anyone see how Dina interacted with her ghost writer on that Lindsay show? I don’t know if Dina was drunk but that was the most awkward thing I have ever seen. She was so rude and dismissive and seemed incredibly childish. She was talking to her like she was an annoying servant. As soon as Lindsay came Dina’s demeanour changed it was almost as if she was sucking up to Lindsay.
And I’d love to see what she said about Dina once her first check bounced!
Yeah Star
She was def on something- drunk probably and maybe pills too? It was PAINFUL. She is awful.
I didn’t see it-but the Fug girls did a fantastic recap.
just here to second the shout out for the Fug Girls’ recap.
I’ve know a couple of people who were convicted of DUI, first time, and lost their license. Does anybody lose their license anymore….or just non-famous, poor people?
A guy I know got a DUI a few months ago (first time offense) and had his license suspended for I think 90 days. So not actually revoked permanently.
One of my girlfriend’s got a DUI in college and her license was suspended for a year – I think she was allowed to drive to and from work and school, but other than that – nada.
I want to say with your second offense your license is suspended for 5 years, and after your third year – permanently.
I used to wonder why people would ride Mopeds on the open road (it seemed unnecessarily dangerous to me) and it turns out you do not need a license to operate a Moped – ergo these tend to be the vehicle of choice amongst the DUI offenders.
The article states that Dina lost her license and Lamar had his license suspended when he refused a sobriety test. It’s all fair game.
Lindsay probably did pay for the Lohan McMansion so that when all of her cards are played out, she can retire there with Dina. They can play dress up with all of Lindsay’s liquor stained couture, get wasted and pretend they’re walking the MEAN GIRLS red carpet every day.
I picture those two about 15 years from now, with fried hair, organs and skin, getting hammered together and having screaming arguments every day until one of them dies.
Holy crap! That’s hilarious because…TRUTH!!!!
Hate to say it but in some pics Dina actually looks better than her daughter Lindsay does.
she’ll lose her license for a set period depending on BAC (3 or 6 months?). she’ll have to pay for the interlock device installed and the monthly fee, for 12 months. from what i understand, any tampering with the device means an automatic reset that they will charge her for.
if she gets another one she will be in deep duty. so she has tons of fees to pay, which she can’t afford. pretty sure community service is the same everywhere, if you get in to a place that is easy, it is easy. she won’t be able to manage it unless she finds a place that is unscrupulous and will falsify her hours. idk if Ny is state that will let you drive if you can prove you have to for work or not.
but yeah, neither of them have a problem?
🙄
This woman is an embarrassment. She is just a waste of space. The whole family is a train wreck. My God get it together.
While watching the last couple episodes of Lindsay, I keep thinking that Lindsay has no chance of a different life if she goes back to any of the old losers who are still caught up in a loser’s life style. Sadly it seems her mother is one of the losers she needs to stay away from until she herself is stronger.
Dina generally does look a lot better than Lindsay. Different gene mix? Different drugs/amounts of alcohol? She’s not actually the mess that Lindsay is and seems mainly functional with some very public exceptions.
I wonder if Dina had to borrow on the house for Lindsay’s lawyers, bail bondsmen, and rehabs. I had assumed she was getting the $$$ from one of her good fairies, but maybe not. Dina doesn’t seem like a huge spender otherwise, although clubbing costs. Bail would cost about ten percent of the bail set since they went through a bondsman rather than putting up the money themselves. That’s a lot of wasted money over the years. And lawyer bills are huge at her level, several hundred dollars per hour. When Lindsay was in jail for 1-2 weeks, her lawyer visited her cheerfully every day and made a bundle just from that.
Hope Dina learns faster from the legal wakeup call than her daughter has.
I’m not too familiar with interlock devices. Is there anything to stop someone from having a friend/paid flunky riding with you blow into it on your behalf?
I feel so sorry for Lindsay. All of that anger and confusion turned inward. It will take her whole lifetime to recover from having such a narcissistic, out of control, unhappy person for a mother.
As a former Long Island-er, I’d just like to say you drive ON Long Island, not IN Long Island. It’s the name of an island not a town, city, etc. I keep seeing this recently, and it makes me wonder if people think Long Island is a town or is just messing up the grammar.
