Who run the world? BEYONCE. Time Magazine has released their multiple covers for their annual “Most Influential People In the World” issue. And Beysus got a cover!! I have to admit… this is pretty badass. It’s a really striking black-and-white image too. Beyonce got one of the covers because A) The stans, B) she dropped her album without any warning and C) she’s Beyonce. Bow down. Lean In author and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg did her write up too – go here to see.
Of course, other people made the list. It’s not just ALL BEYONCE FOREVER. You can see the Time 100 package here, and I’m including some of the other covers too, like the covers for Jason Collins (for being the first openly gay NBA player) and Robert Redford (for 30 years of Sundance). Benedict Cumberbatch made the list, because the Cumberbitch demographic is a force to be reckoned with and we voted early and often – you can read Benedict’s write-up here. Colin Firth did it. It’s short and charming.
Other people on the list: Pharrell Williams, Kerry Washington, Matthew McConaughey, Steve McQueen, Eric Holder, John Kerry, Seth Meyers, Miley Cyrus, Pope Francis, Rand Paul, Hillary Clinton and Carrie Underwood. And tons more.

I agree the cover is badass but im a little disappointed that she had to be in her underwear. Seems sexist to me.
I like the cover too but the underwear thing made me pause for a second. Why didn’t they put Redford in his underwear too? lol
I don’t think her face looks good at all on the cover due to her blank expression but the second shot looks great.
The underwear with the open legs showing the thigh gap is really unclassy for Time magazine. The poses make her look just plain unattractive. Bey looks better in her home and vacation pictures. Total fail on Time’s part.
Her right leg is photoshopped to death.
Shame about the underwear, but does she actually have an expression other than blank?
When couples spend a lot of time together they start to look alike & she looks like jays in the face
That’s what I thought too. How empowering, a woman in her underwear on Time magazine! Not.
How come all the men get to wear clothes but Beyonce doesn’t? Or even just pants? Why doesn’t she at least get to wear pants with her little bra thing and sheer top?
Not only that, but my first thought [besides what the he*l is she wearing?] is: DIAPER underwear. It’s like she’s wearing a diaper, not sexy underwear even. What a weird double meaning, or triple meaning….innuendo, etc???
Because the main currency in the entertainment industry for women is their sexuality. That’s why she doesn’t get to wear pants.
I think it would also look better if the sheer thing was a dress at least. Maybe she wanted to look sexy but I would not like to be in underwear on a Time cover.
Ya her choice in dress diminished her being on the cover – If she wonders why some people don’t take her seriously, as an artist, it’s because she doesnt take herself seriously. Yes we know you want to be like Tina with your legs always shown, but dang it Bey!
She does herself an injustice by always choosing to be paraded like a prize heffer and not a beautiful intelligent woman.
Honest question – does she get to pick what she wears for a cover, or do they choose it for her?
Hi GoodNames…I would think that they wouldn’t just tell Bey what to wear. Can you imagine? I bet she has a lot of input. She has to hi-light her new thigh gap, right?
*raises eyebrow*
I she ever in anything else?
I completely agree – her standing there in underwear completely undercuts her successes, especially in comparison with all of the other people on the other covers.
I don’t like any of the pictures. I feel like she’s attempting to look serious and intellectual, but completely missing the mark because that’s not who she is. Just blank expressions. I’m also just over Beyonce in general. I was never a big fan, but I don’t recall being so annoyed by her.
HH, I totally agree. I’m not that impressed with her. Everyone seems to fall all over her and worship her for some reason and I don’t get it. She is pretty and has a couple songs i like but I don’t see where she’s any greater than other singers.
So all of the “influential men” are fully dressed, and the sole “influential woman” is posing in her underwear.
Got it.
There are other female covers – Mary Barra is in a business suit.
Mary Barra is in a suit on her cover. I think the picture reflects Beyonce industry and how she presents herself to the world through her music. Skimpy/sexy costumes are a mainstay in her concerts. Athletes are not pictured in suits either – Michael Phelps has been wearing itty bitty bathing suits on many covers.
I like all of the covers. I am not a fan of Beyonce and don’t know her music, but I think she is quite beautiful, especially with less make-up.
She dresses in costume like this all the time for concerts, promotions, etc… If it were not for that, I would probably be offended. She’s part of the pop culture and dresses in accordance to it…. no big deal
Pants! Now!
Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I saw Beyonce wearing pants. It’s ridiculous.
Totally agree. It’s TIME for COL.
It seems to me that some people are intimidated by her wearing revealing clothes. Live and let live and let her be herself and stop trying to impose your own standards on Beyonce and women in general…..that to me seems to be the sexist reaction. JMO
This. I thought we were supposed to own our bodies?
there is a difference between being intimidated and being disappointed. I guess to me it would have been nice to see powerful being equated with a strong facial expression, rather than a lack of clothing. It just seems superficial for the focus to be on her body rather than her achievements. Maybe I am wrong, and her wearing as little amount of clothes as possible implies her owning her body, as side-eye said. Somehow I doubt that though. Oh well, to each her own.
You can own your body without appearing in the cover of Time magazine in your underwear and a blond weave down to your butt. It implies that all you have to offer is your body and your image. Bey is a successful business woman and singer. Time mag is placed in banks, business offices, schools. People take the magazine seriously, it ‘s no more appropriate than showing up to the bank or a business meeting in your underwear. I would have no problem if Bey dressed like this for Vogue or any other fashion magazine. Wouldn’t even blink.
Not intimidated just disgusted. I think Beyonce does the half naked thing because by her narcissistic way of thinking she is Beyonce and anything she does , cannot offend. Even if she flash children at an inappropriate place and time with her adult provocative and half naked performance, like at the MTV awards, she had to know children would be watching at that time but she just did not care, it’s all about Beyonce. I guarantee you she would never let her daughter be flashed like that, but she is clueless to other peoples feelings, needs to learn do on to others as you would have them do unto you, this woman is selfish. I don’t envy her for her money, talent, nor her looks none of that but I find her tasteless and do not enjoy her music. Strange how the media seem to find the time to blast us with people who is really offensive to many, (Kim K) there is something to say about that, why do they do it?
If Time and Beyonce were okay with it then I don’t care. I personally prefer the smoldering, elegant sexiness of women like Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Kim Basinger and Marion Cotillard to this semi-conscious, creepy doll look but it takes all kinds I suppose. But it seems overdone to pearl clutch or finger wag over someone whose career/persona is accurately reflected in the cover photo. Wouldn’t anything else be hypocritical and odd?
Excuse me for finding an H&M sweatshirt disappointing. Ive sen her in beautiful clothes before, so it’s not like she always looks like scrub. Disappointment is not the same as being intimidated …you’re too funny!
Exactly! Why the hell couldn’t she be fully dressed and be on the cover? Are they saying that her influence stems only from her youth and good looks? Her sex appeal? If so, then the clock is ticking on that. Sexism pure and simple. They could have just done a portrait face shot of her.
#Timetogetpolitical
Just have to say I’m so glad that Kejriwal won. The political scene in India is really a mess and it’s amazing that he beat Modi.
I’m pretty clueless about politics in India; I only know how awfully women are treated. I think about that poor girl who died from the bus rape/murder all the time. It makes me so terribly sad and I know there are so much more cases like that I don’t hear about. I hoped that the protests helped somewhat. I pray that this newly elected person does a lot for women’s safety.
I really can’t stand her.
Same. She’s been a proven attention-seeking phony over and OVER again. She’s NOBODY to bow down to.
THIS! And she looks fug on that cover.
Add me to the list. Why is she considered influential? Because Kim K wants to be her LOLLL?
Me too. She looks completely vacant in these photos, but I’m sure she considers her expression to be seductive. Oh, and who wouldn’t want to be seductive on the cover of Time? {eyeroll + sneer}
Influential? Well, she has enough influence to finagle a leisure vacation to Cuba, clear out a floor of a hospital to “give birth,” and make people think that she isn’t photoshopped to death. And, for the love of all that’s holy, I wish she would stop showcasing her bathingsuit area. The leotards need to be retired.
I think her thighs look really slim that surgery was well worth it.
If she had surgery, there would be scarring. Scarring that people would see. Now if you’re calling lipo, surgery…. She’s still a young woman, so losing weight isn’t out of the realm of possibility. And neither is Photoshop. Just sayin, no reason to go under the knife for a cover.
Lipo is still considered a form of surgery.
But if she did have more of an invasive type of surgery, scars can be covered for a photo shoot or just photoshopped out.
Scarring? Not for what they would pay $$$
could be natural
could be Photoshop
Who knows
She always poses in a way to accentuate the thigh gap. Very odd.
It’s a pretty cover. I would be more inclined to buy it if I saw Jason Collins or Robert Redford on it. Those two men actually have shown bravery and have stood for something.
No shade but what has Redford done that demonstrates bravery?
As for Bey I DK why Time used that picture but I agree with her making the Influential list .Through releasing her surprise album she reinvented a new way to release an album.
Congrats.
I think from Times perspective is that he’s still making movies and for the most part, are pretty good. He’s definitely in his seventies and still working and ambitious. I think that’s impressive.
He is a hardcore environmentalist and dedicated to protecting natural landscapes in the west, especially in Utah. He is the reason Sundance even exists.
A new way to release an album isn’t exactly “brave”.
I will not bow down to Bey. *neener neener*
ps: put some damn clothes on.
Exactly, bitch please!
BAM! I’m with yas.
Beyonce can bow down to me, thank you very much. When Miss Full of Herself does something important in life or exhibits some talent, I’ll consider not snickering at her embarrassing submissive grabs for attention.
dat’s tellin em.
Congrats to Bey. I’m only slightly disturbed that I thought it was KK at first.
Bey looks great.
Yeah Bey. In your dreams. Those thighs are in your dreams!
She could of at least put on some trousers for a Time cover.
Haha the Beyoncé haters on this sight are gonna love this
Lol I wouldn’t call them haters, majority of the people on this site are just critical of her (which is fair enough imo, and even though I’m a fan of hers for the most part, I’m still critical of her from time to time). But you do have the people who don’t like anything she does, like she could find a cute for cancer tomorrow and they’d still have something negative to say about it. But I can’t hate on that, I’m like that with Katy Perry 😉
@Dani2 Yep, we are all free to be critical of who we want but honestly, some of the vitriol on this site has been shocking. I totally agree with you too that even if she probably did find cure for cancer there would still be some with something to say. Personally, I can’t think of a single celebrity I absolutely love to bits or one I hate with pure passion. I don’t know these people. It’s all a fantasy.
agreed Tila and Im not a Beysus lover or stan whatsoever (in fact I can count in the fingers of BOTH my hands the songs of hers that Jay- Z isnt in that I have AND have fingers leftover and they are mostly from this last cd)
I’ll give you she has an ego the size of Texas, can be quietly shady and has a rather simple personality/interview and whereas her music is not my thing I cant sit here and act like she isnt a talented performer, is GORGEOUS, has a good business acumen, a good voice even if it’s not for me and is a Workhorse and again FANTASTIC TO LOOK AT
Yet a lot of people here act like she stole their lunches or something, all these conspiracies and extra servings of vitriol and shit… IDK at the end of the day I cant shit too much on a chick that has (with a team or not behind her) gotten to this level of success and recognizion and is still keeping her peeps around her and so on
QQ LOL @ people acting like she stole their lunches here. That is exactly right. The awful part is I always find myself defending Beyonce on this site even though I don’t even really like or listen to her music that much, I just think the bitterness and vitriol spewed in her direction is completely out of proportion.
I’m not hip on any music that “dumbs down’ the masses. Beyonce’s songs have lyrics that are the equivalant to baby-talk and elementary school slang. Reminds me of my friends with their kids “ohh babah want more wah wah, ohhhh nom om”.
Oh, for pete sakes, just say “Do you want more water, it’s really tasty!!”.
She’s a lovey lady that adores her child, but her music utterly lacks any depth. To me it lacks respect to her fans since she feels she has to talk to her fans in 3rd grade english.
I turn her off the radio. The same goes for any artist that sings to ME (as I am their audience) like I am a child. I wont listen to it. Let them talk to their 5 years olds in the same way they sing.
I agree tila. I’m neutral on her, she has flaws, etc., but I think she’s absolutely stunning and there are a lot of commenters on here who won’t cut her a break for anything. She doesn’t love her baby, etc. of course, I’m sort of that way about Kim K, but at least Beyoncé has talent.
Great points QQ, clothes or not, she is being true to herself….. Im not a fan at all, but I think she is past the stage where other women should be telling her to dress ‘appropriately’. Its insane.
I’m critical of her because she shows up on the cover of Time like it was an Esquire shoot. For all of her “power” and “influence” she’s still peddling a view of women that starts and ends with our bodies. I’ll stop criticizing when she stops the dead-eyes/open-mouth sexy face. I think risque costumes work for her concerts, but not for the cover of Time. I would love to see her present herself as the businesswoman she is.
Right, and that’s a fair and intelligent criticism. I’m talking about the people who can tell she doesn’t love her baby because the baby is looking at the ground kind of criticism.
I agree that the get up is unimaginative and classless but if we, as women, hold up our little appropriate/inappropriate scorecards in the air aren’t we as bad as the patriarchs?
I don’t know if I like the fact that her cover looks more like a fashion shoot, while the men all got more “I’m making a rather serious face cause I’m very deep and run the world”-kind of profile.
totally agree!
Agreed! You put it into words perfectly.
Or maybe each pic suits what they do for a living. Mary Barra is in a business suit. She is the most well-dressed of all of them. Jason Collins is wearing a t-shirt. Robert Redford is semi-casual — actor & business person. Sometimes there is no deeper message/agenda.
Agree. We all know she is beautiful physically. We all know she is considered sexy by many, and she is certainly in total control of her empire. That’s fine, and the fact that she built her empire is something I can admire. That does not make me like her or this cover. Why not just her face? Why not something interesting or something we haven’t seem a million times before-especially for this cover?
From the neck up Beyonce looks lovely, but I’m not sure what’s going on with the bottom half? Is she just slouching? it almost looks like they photoshopped her head on to someone else’s body.
If I had to choose a cover, I’d go with Jason Collins. Since he came out though, why is he covering his mouth?
It’s a strange outfit for the cover of Time.
Love Beyonce, but why did they disrespect her by putting her half-naked on the cover? Did they do that with any of the men? Jeez Time, get with the times!
I love her too but do you really think that she had no say in what she wore?
My guess is that Beyonce insisted on cover outfit–she is so insecure she has to always be half naked in photos. I, too would have like to see her dressed as a business woman with glasses on. She missed an opportunity to show that she is more than a twerking sex pot!
Seems ‘Time’ magazine is no different from ‘Esquire’ or ‘Maxim’.
All the men are fully clothed, while the woman just has to be in her bra and knickers.
Because women can of course be powerful and influential. But ONLY is they’re also ‘hot’.
It is like that, isn’t it?
I know some people who would laugh at famous women merely because they were “old” or “ugly” or whatever. Nevermind what they’ve achieved, if they are not young and hot, they fail in life. Disturbing.
Why isn’t she wearing pants? Awful
Hm, better choices this year than last year’s. I prefer CNN’s Heroes, though.
Oh ffs put some clothes on, woman. Gah! Really ….
Deeply weary of these half-naked shenanigans.
General Motors CEO, Mary Barra, has a cover too. She’s in a suit.
Please. Beyonce is big enough to have a say in the cover. Make no mistake that Bey is in her underwear because she wants to be. There’s nothing wrong or sexist about it, she’s an entertainer and aside from her talent, she’s known as a sex symbol. Annoying? Yes. But let’s not turn this into something it’s not.
Yeah I think I agree. I mean the woman made a documentary about herself and archives every. single. move. she makes. I highly doubt she’s going to be told what to wear on a cover, regardless whether it’s Time.
It’s precisely why I am more PO’ed — she has earned enough power in the industry to dictate this cover. And she felt it appropriate to show up for this shoot like she was shooting a music video. No class or self-respect.
I don’t think class or self-respect are missing here. It is a pretty look, and nothing is hanging out, tacky, or gaudy. The entire image is stripped down and simple, including what she is wearing. It is not overtly sexy or provocative in any way. Such an uproar over a simple, pretty picture.
And this is where personal opinion — frankly, I think that it is a tacky choice for this cover, and an unflattering photo in general. But! Bey gets the last laugh I suppose.
I am sure she probably had some say on the cover maybe she wanted to be half naked. She looks good but I agree she should have on more… It’s not Vogue/or even Shape it’s Time magazine
All is see is that huge photoshopped thigh gap.
I cannot stand her. She is so full of herself! I personally disagree with her getting the cover. Just making her head even bigger then it already is.
I don’t have any problem of her getting the title but her face looks off in the photo. Either her face is so skinny now or they photoshop the hell out of it! It’s not cute. And also, she needs to put some d*mn pants on!
That cover, I don’ know if it’s me, but she looks like Lady Gaga…
And maybe a little bit like…gasps…Kim 🙁
I can’t… She could sh*t on the middle of stage and people still be like: Yessssss! Bey changing the game!!!! Slay!!! When will your faves? Uhhh
What a joke. I know someone who thinks TIME is actually a magazine for intellectuals too. Wow.
So tired of her acting like she is so profound./saving the world. She does private concerts for dictators who abuse human rights.
Oh, yay. Another powerful and influential woman on the cover of a legit mag….wearing her underwear and a dumbass expression. Sorry, no bowing down from me – not for her, and not for whoever decided to dress her like that and put that image forward on the cover of Time. Two steps up and one step back.
Loving the negative comments LMAO
Making me appreciate my homegirl ,Queen Bey even more.Nice, Rich, Powerful, Beautiful
BOW DOWN B# TCHES 🙂
Queen b whatever…the only Queen is Tina Tuner. Beyawnce isn’t fit to clean Tina’s toilets.
If she is so influential and empowered WHY DID SHE AGREE TO SHOOT IN HER UNDERWEAR? How is that empowering to women? Gaaaaawd!
Ugh. I don’t judge people for liking her music. I just don’t get the hero worship. I don’t get the appeal of her at all.
The mainstream media are pathetic. Have they heard this idiot speak? Beyonce can barely string two sentences together. She doesn’t’ even write her own songs, which consist of elementary lyrics and slang. Yet she’s on the cover as the most “powerful”. And of course, she has to be in what looks like underwear showing off her new gross looking liposuctioned thigh gap.
I’m so tired of this dimwit and her blonde wigs. I could not be happier that Lupita’s People Magazine cover is getting way more attention this this nonsense.
Spot on, Thatchick. 🙂
Not sure why mainstream media keeps promoting the pollution this pop culture hack releases.
A product sample that Beyonce takes responsibility for:
“Drunk In Love”
(featuring Jay-Z)
[Intro: Beyoncé]
I’ve been drinking, I’ve been drinking
I get filthy when that liquor get into me
I’ve been thinking, I’ve been thinking
Why can’t I keep my fingers off it, baby?
I want you, na na
Why can’t I keep my fingers off it, baby?
I want you, na na
[Verse 1: Beyoncé]
Cigars on ice, cigars on ice
Feeling like an animal with these cameras all in my grill
Flashing lights, flashing lights
You got me faded, faded, faded
Baby, I want you, na na
Can’t keep your eyes off my fatty
Daddy, I want you, na na
Drunk in love, I want you
[Hook: Beyoncé]
We woke up in the kitchen saying,
“How the hell did this sh*t happen?”
Oh baby, drunk in love we be all night
Last thing I remember is our beautiful bodies grinding up in the club
Drunk in love
[Bridge: Beyoncé]
We be all night, love, love
We be all night, love, love
[Verse 2: Beyoncé]
We be all night,
And everything alright
No complaints from my body, so fluorescent under these lights
Boy, I’m drinking,
Park it in my lot 7-11
I’m rubbing on it, rub-rubbing, if you scared, call that reverend
Boy, I’m drinking, get my brain right
Armand de brignac, gangster wife
Louie sheets, he sweat it out like wash rags he wear it out
[Studio version:] Boy, I’m drinking, I’m singing on the mic to my boy toys
[Video/Live version:] Boy, I’m drinking, I’m singing on the mic til my voice hoarse
Then I fill the tub up halfway then ride it with my surfboard, surfboard, surfboard
Graining on that wood, graining, graining on that wood
I’m swerving on that, swerving, swerving on that big body
Been serving all this, swerve, surfing all in this good, good
[Hook]
[Bridge]
[Verse 3: Jay-Z]
(I’m nice right now)
Hold up
That D’USSÉ is the sh*t if I do say so myself
If I do say so myself, if I do say so myself
Hold up,
Stumbled all in the house time to back up all of that mouth
That you had all in the car, talking ’bout you the baddest b*tch thus far
Talking ’bout you be repping that third, I wanna see all the sh*t that I heard
Know I sling Clint Eastwood, hope you can handle this curve
Foreplay in the foyer, fvcked up my Warhol
Slip the panties right to the side
Ain’t got the time to take draws off, on site
Catch a charge I might, beat the box up like Mike
In ’97 I bite, I’m Ike, Turner, turn up
Baby no I don’t play, now eat the cake, Anna Mae
Said, “Eat the cake, Anna Mae!”
I’m nice, for y’all to reach these heights you gonna need G3
4, 5, 6 flights, sleep tight
We sex again in the morning, your breastases is my breakfast
We going in, we be all night
[Bridge]
[Verse 4: Beyoncé]
Never tired, never tired
I been sipping, that’s the only thing that’s keeping me on fire, me on fire
Didn’t mean to spill that liquor all on my attire
I’ve been drinking watermelon
I want your body right here, daddy I want you, right now
Can’t keep your eyes off my fatty
Daddy I want you
[Bridge]
Thankyou for giving an example of what I posted earlier. Kiddie-speak. It’s just aweful and ridiculous. It’s as if she’s the icon for educated women who don’t know grammar.
What the heck is a breastases??
Wow. Hmm. That’s a really, bad, raunchy, vulgar song. I had no idea.
@GoodNames and Inlike, thanks for taking into account.
That is what she opened the Grammy Awards show with this year, even though it was not even nominated for any awards! She performed like a trained seal with her ringmaster husband. Super gross.
Not at all boss.
Katy Perry, lady Gaga, avril, Fergie and Gwynne Stephanie lyrics aren’t any deeper. That’s why it’s called pop music.
I am stunned and amazed that anyone pays attention to Beyonce at all.
NAH.
I am a fan of beyonce…but why does she need to be on the cover as most anything when Lupita is most beautiful ? Bet please put the, weave and crotch away for a minute.
The COO of facebook fawns over Beyonce and reminds us that facebook is the social medium B used to announce the release of her album….SO, WHAT?
My, the bar is set low for our pop stars if this is allegedly considered impressive.
Eh. Don’t get me wrong, I’m Bey fan, and I do broach the stan line multiple times, but this just seems a bit meh to me. I guess the surprise album drop got her on the list, but I just don’t see influential in the package that is Empress Bey. I do see success, talent and unrivaled beauty, but I don’t think there has been some recent 2013/2014 cultural change/shift that can be attributed to Beyonce. The cover is also a bit, Solange trying to be Beyonce for my taste. Oh well, Go Beysus, Go!
Go, Bey, still at the top, but not feeling the shot for the cover.
I wonder, does Mrs. Carter take business meetings in her undies?
*deleted*
Carrie Underwood? Miley Cyrus? Uhhuh. Nope.
Im kinda scared to call my self a beyonce fan because I dont want to get boxed in with those crazy, delusional fans known as the beyhive. They’re the reason I had to step back from beyonce. They get riled up over the dumbest things. Like the time kim k tweeted the lyrics to drunk in love, they went ham. I didnt understand it. And she doesn’t reach out to her fans to tell them to chill out! Demi lovato did it when her fans started getting crazy with kathie griffith. And they will listen because she’s their god, shes their queen.
This was a missed opportunity for Beyonce to be a female role model. She was on the cover of Time NOT Rolling Stone. To appear in her underwear or so scantily clad as she did as to objectify herself was a moronic move and not empowering. The men were fully clothed why can’t she understand there is a time and a place to take yourself seriously? This would have been a far better message to her fans.
Yes totally sexist cover. B deserves some clothes. The men are torso and up and she’s just on display. How is that empowered?
So glad Robin Wright is in the list. She’s an amazing actress that’s finally getting the recognition she deserves. She’s created one of the most badass feminine characters ever one of the few that is head to head with her male co-star, Kevin Spacey. She’s also doing a great work with the Congolese charity. And she is not an attention seeker fame whore. I love her.
It’s a good week for Mrs. Underwood: she’s on People’s 50 most beautiful list and in Times’ 100 most influential. She’s been invited to the WHCD and will mostly probably win an Emmy this year.
Why am I surprised by this tacky Beyonce cover? She is like a 6 year old who wont get out of her leotard. It is embarassing on Time’s part that they agreed to this.
In other news…I loved what Obama wrote about the Pope. He is so eloquent.
Not a real influential year I guess.
No it is not an amazing cover. It actually isn’t even a good photo. I don’t get why Beyoncé is so admired in the first place though. I really want to see the Carrie Underwood cover.
Beyoncé has great legs — we get that. But if you’re not on stage — get dressed. It’s cute when your two-year-old’s underpants are showing — but just obnoxious on a grown woman. It’s not about having pride in the human body or owning your sexuality — it’s just about being under-dressed….
Humanity must be at such an all time low. Time is desperate. This is sad and hilarious.
I’m sorry, but how is a half naked singer with a blank, vapid look on her face, influential?
What should she be wearing? A business suit? It’s Beyonce, and this is her image. The same image which she leveraged to achieve her “most influential” status. I mean no disrespect or harm to any of the previous commenters, but I wonder sometimes if such strong reactions are indicative of our own brainwashing–as though a woman in her underwear CAN’T be powerful, or shouldn’t be powerful. Is there some level of influence at which a seductive dancer must don a business suit to represent her gender? In the words of my two-year-old nephew, “No way!”
Err I don’t know if it’s just me, but it seems like the shirt/underwear thing plus the photoshop makes her head look like its a little too big for her body? It looks kind of out of proportion to me
TIME has named six-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood to the TIME 100, its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. The full list and related tributes appear in the May 5 issue of TIME, available on newsstands and tablets on Friday, April 25.
http://www.nashville.com/music/2014/04/carrie-underwood-one-of-times-most-influential/
It’s a bikini, not underwear. Jesus Christ.
She’s morphing into Gwyneth Paltrow.
