On Friday, I posted some lovely photos of Eddie Vedder in Italy, which was a special occasion for us because we so rarely have any photos of any of the Pearl Jam gang. But I guess someone was listening to us and our Vedder-lunacy, because WENN got some photos of Pearl Jam performing at San Siro stadium in Milan on Friday night. Apparently, they performed for 60,000 people. And during the performance, Eddie decided to cover one of the biggest songs of the past year – “Let It Go” from Frozen.
Not the best cover. But it’s a difficult song to cover, and I think there are probably very few men with the vocal range to really do it correctly. I would imagine Eddie chose to cover “Let It Go” because he’s probably heard it a million times because of his daughters, Harper and Olivia. Frozen is probably on a loop at his house, don’t you think?
Anyway… Eddie Vedder. Still hot.

*drooling*
Is it me or is he starting to look like Bruce Springsteen a bit?
That and a bit of Eric Clapton in the top picture.
Since he killed the cover – (not in a good way) this song will finally die?
PLEASE! Yes!! It Really needs to stop and be Let Go
Even Eddie won’t make me break my streak of never having heard ‘Let it Go.’
Lol. I hear ya.
Smart move.
Don’t worry, you’re not missing anything.
You really aren’t missing anything. It’s like everyone who likes it has suddenly gone deaf: it’s a terrible song.
And it’s also not a “classic”. Something has to have been around for longer than 8 months to be a classic.
Right there with you. I’ve managed to avoid hearing more than 10 seconds of the song since the movie’s release. And those 10 seconds were only from me previewing it on iTunes.
Yeah, i have no interest in hearing more American Idol inspired Broadway-lite pablum.
LOL, same here!!!!!!!!
I didn’t think it was possible to love Eddie more, but now I do…
As an Australian, there was nothing cooler than seeing him sing Hunters and Collectors’ song: ‘Throw your arms around me’ at a concert in Perth! #swoon
If he did it for his daughter then yes, yes I love him even more then I already did. If that’s even possible.
You know who actually could have made a great cover of this song?
Freddie Mercury.
You are 100% right!
I also vote for Steve Perry former lead singer of Journey as well as Luther Vandross.
Don’t remind me.
I don’t listen to a lot of music (seriously, the only cd I’ve ever listened to all the way through is Adele’s 21), so I only heard of Queen/Freddie Mercury because there was an article on CB about Sacha Baron Cohen playing Freddie. So I decided to mosy on down to youtube and listen to Bohemian Rhapsody for the first time.
OMG.
I swear to God, I thought my ears had a freaking orgasm, and I sat there and listened to that song for an hour (the Montreal concert version).
And then I fell in love. God, Freddie could SANG.
Yes he could. IMO best singer ever. Did you ever listen to ‘Barcelona’?
Chris Cornell could do something interesting with that song too.
Eddie, you’re hot but that was not good. How many sharks did you jump?
That was painful (still love you Eddie)
Side note: I Googled for a quick jaunt down memory lane and mis-typed and found an awesome pear jam recipe instead. I’m officially old.
LOL
Eddie, you are too good for this.
I am so tired of this song and this movie, and the people who are obsessed with this movie. It’s time to move on, folks.
Ditto. People act like it’s the Lion King. It ain’t.
LOVE HIM SO, LOVE HIM SO, CAN’T HOLD IT BACK ANY MORE.
Admittedly not the best cover but still really cool.
And I love that he’s wearing those rubber band loom bracelets which must have been made for him by his daughters.
Drunk. Ugh. That’s why I hate him. But Jeff is there and I smiled when I saw the video. :o)
It’s cute. He’s a middle aged dad with two little girls and that’s what makes it adorable. I don’t even think the girl who recorded this song (can’t remember her name) can actually hit those notes so it doesn’t surprise me that he can’t either.
He does stuff like this all the time at their concerts. It’s just a bit of fun for everyone. Audiences love it – it brings us into the performance.
PS, Eddie’s got great hair!
