Ashton Kutcher & Mila Kunis welcomed their baby girl on Tuesday in LA – we covered it yesterday. Even though it felt like Mila had been pregnant for a year and a half, and even though people were convinced that she was like two weeks overdue, sources maintain that Mila gave birth on schedule. Sure. Anyway, I was hoping that we would find out the name soon, and that’s what happened. I should have known that Ashton would use his baby to promote his weird plagiarist site, Aplus.
Mila and I would like to welcome Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher to the world. May your life be filled with wonder, love, laughter, health, happiness, curiosity, and privacy.
Can you guess which one is ours, or does it really matter? All babies are cute.
-Ashton
Ashton then posted about ten photos of various newborn human and animal babies. We’re supposed to “guess” which one is Wyatt Isabelle. I made my guess below. As for the name Wyatt Isabelle… eh. I like unisex names (I love “Charlie” and “Remy” for girls) and I like Wyatt for a boy. So I should like this name, right? It just doesn’t feel right for them though. It seems more like a name that Ashton picked out and Mila was too tired to fight about it. And the girl is going to go through life being called Wy Kutcher, which will make her sound like a 66-year-old retiree in New Mexico.

I like Isabelle. Wyatt reminds me of Wyatt Earp. But congrats.
I reaaalllyyy like Wyatt as a name, but I know that if I name a child that – my dad’s going to capitalize on it and call them Wyatt Earp. I think Wyatt, or Liam are my top picks for boys – Der picked Liam. And then Charlotte or Victoria for girls – which is really a throw back to my dad and grandfathers names which I like the feminine versions of much better.
I love Wyatt for a boy, and love Liam, Charlotte and Victoria, too. You can’t lose!
all good “old timey” names. 🙂 i have an “old lady” name myself, which is great, you don’t see too many of us running around. 🙂
haha, I think we’ll be set when we decide to have one. I love older names. Even if it means my kids getting called by the name of cowboys.
Ag – I love ‘old lady’ names too. I think I have a relatively non-crazy name (maybe besides the extra n) but the husbands grandmother thinks it’s just so odd. My own great gram was like “Erinn!? that’s different.[pause] I like it” she was a character. But when I’m on the phone with clients I’ve gotten called: Erica, Karen, Ann, Angela, and a few others that I can’t even remember now. And I enunciate damnit.
Erinn – how can someone confuse your name? odd. haha. my name is “agnes,” and NO ONE ever knows how to spell it for some reason. i get called “angus” ALL the time. wth? lol
Ahhh I love the name Agnes. That’s upsetting 🙁 At least Karen rhymes with mine, I guess. Angela isn’t even close.
I love the name Agnes! I wanted to name my daughter Agnes, but hubby didn’t like it. We compromised with Agatha. We are currently expecting a baby boy and naming him Henry (but will call him Hal).
I love the old-fashioned names too.
Michelle, Henry, shortened to Hank, was one of our choices. Love Agatha! Even more unique/old-fashioned than Agnes, imo.
@erinn, my name is Karen and I get called erin/aaron/other variations regularly. I’ve also been called Carrie.
When I was pregnant with my twins their Dad (my now ex husband) wanted to call them Wyatt and Emmett. No joke. They got Simon and Jacob instead lol
Wyatt reminds me of Piper’s kid in Charmed, lol
That was the first thing I thought of and I was confused about the gender of the child for a second.
Me too!!!
I thought Wyatt Earp and then the one from Charmed. Wyatt is a boy’s name!
My sons name is Wyatt, actually after Earp. We call him by his middle name though which is Cub (after my great grandpa). I like Wyatt for a girl, I think girls with masculine names tend to be sassy and unique.
I like Wyatt for a girl better than Lincoln for a girl. (Kristen Bell and Dax Shepherd’s baby). My best friend growing up has a huge family with 6 girls and their last name was WyAtt….that may be why I don’t mind it so much.
That’s exactly what my husband said after I told him the name.
If they switched the middle and first names, it would be much for attractive.
Love Isabelle, it was my girl name that I never got to use since I had boys. I’m not sure about Wyatt. My knee jerk reaction is not to like it but maybe she will grow into it. I do like the idea of boy names for girls in some cases, it really depends on the kid, and the parents, I guess.
If this is her in the photo, she’s lovely. Wishing them much joy.
Isabelle (and Isabella) was ruined for me because of Twilight. Unfortunately. I used to love the name though. I’m kind of meh on Wyatt.
Michelle, I didn’t even think of that. I’m guessing there is a mini-boom of Bellas out there because of it.
I’m a teacher in a large primary (elementary) school in Australia, where the children range in age from 5-12, and have lost count of the number of girls with this baby’s middle name or variations thereof: Isabella, Isabelle, Izabella, Isabel, Bella, Belle, Ella… I still love Isabella, though. Wyatt? I immediately thought of Wyatt Earp, and doesn’t Goldie Hawn have a Wyatt? I really don’t like it as a girl’s name, but as long as the baby is healthy, that’s all that really matters.
Privacy? Really? My eyes can’t roll back hard enough.
I totally respect people like Brad and Angelina or Kerry Washington or Sandra Bullock who want privacy and are able to keep it. But I can’t stand celebritys like Kutcher anymore, who think they can have it all and think we are all dumb fools. He’s telling us the name of his daughter but doesn’t want us to see pictures? Maybe he should call Sandra Bullock and ask her how it’s done to adopt a baby without telling the media.
I love the name Wyatt for a boy, not sure how I feel about it for a girl. Isabelle is a pretty middle name. I’m just glad they didn’t name her something like “Dill Pickle”!
Yes, I totally agree. I don’t like the trend of giving girls masculine names. Not sure why. My husband is Anthony, and I’d be willing to name a daughter Toni, but names like Wyatt, Lincoln, etc., simply do not say “girl” to me. Granted, it’s not my kid, so it really makes no difference to me. Does anyone like the name Arabella? I like that as an alternative to Isabelle/bella.
I agree with you. I find it an annoying trend.
@BETTY Arabella? I love the arctic monkeys lol and I love that name
Cool. I’m glad someone likes Arabella. No one I know personally digs that name.
Betty, I posted further up… We’ve only ever had two girls named Arabella in our school’s 13 year history. You know how some kids really put you off a name? Well, not the two Arabellas. I’ve always liked the name, and the two girls were such lovely kids – well-mannered, polite, respectful, hard-working, high achievers, and very well-liked by their peers and teachers. Arabella is a beautiful name.
Maybe because I’m foreign, but Wyatt sounds completely masculine to me, not like Dylan or Morgan which can be unisex. It’s like naming a boy Amanda, or Sue.
I love that my mom named me Hunter. People seem eager to comment on my name when I make my introductions. I’m getting pretty sick of people saying a name is masculine/feminine. What makes something masculine exactly?
I know a few girls named Hunter, it’s a really nice name. But don’t tell me you wouldn’t be at least a bit confused if they named a boy Sally or Victoria or something completely feminine?
The annoying thing about this unisex name trend is that it’s always masculine names for girls. No one is giving feminine names to their sons. It just reinforces that it’s okay for girls to be tomboys, but not ok for boys to be girly.
I dunno, maybe I’m overthinking this.
@Lou what about Peaches Geldof? Her boys have feminine sounding names at least in my opinion… Phaedra and Astala.
Kaiser, it is clear that great minds think alike–I saw the photos yesterday and this was the baby that I thought must be theirs.
We’ll see what happens, won’t we?
I think the name is meh–Isabelle is an overdone name, I think, and Wyatt for a female person is odd. But it’s their baby, and at least they didn’t name it Apple Butter or Chartreuse or Hotel Cipriani (or some other location to honor where she was conceived). Things could always be worse.
If that isn’t their baby – they found one that looks a lot like Mila.
I agree with the Isabelle – I know sooo many kids named Isabelle it’s insane.
I love the name Isabelle/a and haven’t run into very much in my 15 years as a mom. Although my son right now knows two girls named “Bella,” not sure if they are short for Isabella or not.
The one girl name that seems hugely overdone to me is Madison. I used to love it but now I find it very unoriginal as a result.
Ouu yes – Madison is rampant around here as well. Isabelle seems to be on an upswing in the last couple years though. I like the name, I just see it a lot.
In our neighbourhood, there are Madisons, Charlottes, Emilys and Emmas EVERYWHERE. Isabella is a little less prevalent but still popular.
I like more ‘unique’ names (ie., names that your kid won’t have to add her last initial to because there are two other kids in her class with the same name), but to me, Wyatt is a boy’s name, pure and simple.
I agree, Granger. When my son was in Year 5, there were 3 other boys with his name. They had to add the last name’s initial, but it was still complicated, as two boys’ last names both started with B… My friend had a class last year with 3 Victoria’s, and had to do the same. Since the powers-that-be at my school insist classes are not graded, it still baffles me that 3 or 4 children with the same name cannot be shared across several classes.
“Female person” sounds funny, but I agree. I kind of like the name Frida. Might use it as a middle name if I manage to have a daughter.
“privacy”
Girl, bye. Plenty of celebs don’t even release a name these days. Still thirsty.
Exactly. They are being extra by doing that whole guess which is their baby thing. Either release a pic of the kid and get it over with or don’t release a pic of the kid. Plenty of celebs don’t release anything about their kids so if they really wanted privacy they could have it.
By publishing several pictures of babys, saying that it doesn’t matter how their baby looks and implying that we want to see a picture and are invading their privacy he acts like a child. We are not the problem, you are.
Totally agree! “So our baby was born, and here are the details. Now – lets all play a game and guess which one of these photos she is! By the way, we want privacy.” Whatevs.
Yep, pretty lame and douchey on their part “guess which baby is ours but leave us the hell alone”, but it IS Ashton Kutcher. Mila is no better than him. I think she did a good job of hiding her rudeness before getting with Kutcher, but now she’s letting her douche flag fly freely.
Yep, it’s the same thing with Gosling. You start to wonder if they just have done a good job hiding their own doucheness, because you can’t be nice and at the same time be with idiots like Kutcher or Mendes.
I like the name Wyatt, but Wyatt Kutcher sounds……. Idk. It just doesn’t flow. I feel like Isabelle is the name Mila picked and Wyatt is the name Ashton picked.
Kutcher would be a hard name to blend with, you’re right.
i think it would have to be a long first name to blend with “kutcher” better, since “kutcher” is on the shorter side.
and every other freaking girl born in the past few years is named “isabelle” or “isabella.” be more creative, people! i present the evidence:

Thanks for the link, Ag. I’m 4.5 months pregnant and still wondering about a name.
Wow, my name’s the most popular one right now? o.o
Thank you for the link, Ag. It’s an American list? It’s interesting how different the lists are…
Here is the 2014 Australian Top 10… You’ll need to scroll down to the table just a little bit:

Sorry all babies aren’t cute but she is her head is perfect and round, sweet little face. I like the name too.
I’ve had a lot of friends and coworkers have babies this year and concur they are not all cute — though I try to coo over them the same. And sometimes it’s just taking a few weeks for them fill out or something.
However, to me a lot of those photos look like the same baby…
Yes I have a son and I tried to be realistic when he was born saying he was cute TO ME as they are not always but tend to look better later as they puff out and he did look better and by 4 months he was C UTTTTTTTTTTTTTEEEEE but not on the day he looked like an old man with wrinkle skin/hands.
Newborns are not always pretty, though I think after a few weeks when they sort of fill out, most babies are cute. But they first couple of days can be pretty rough.
Most newborns look like those creatures from I Am Legend, but around 2-3 months they get super cute.
I thought I had given birth to E.T.
My older father used to tell the story (behind my older sisters’ back) that his first child ( that sister) was the ugliest hairy baby he had ever seen, but that she had gotten better with time, hahaha she actually became a beautiful woman.
It was so funny to hear his story, how he was led to his first wife’s room and they expected him to gush over and he was like F…? Her mama and I are not that bad looking! he was a big joker, tho. I cannot tell the story to my sister, hahaha I don’t know how she would take it.
Agreed! Most newborns look like frogs. She’s a cute little thing though.
Yeah, they are usually pretty weird looking right at first – but they are teeny tiny with widdle hands and feet :^)
I don’t care for Wyatt for a girl, but whatever, it’s their kid. The baby in that picture is adorable, though.
That baby is adorable! The combination of the names is a bit odd…Wyatt Isabelle sounds like an outlaw ballerina. Congrats all the same.
brin you hit the nail on head!!!!! awesome! outlaw ballerina…. perfect description. 🙂
Isabelle Wyatt would have been better….I don’t even mind unisex names for babies…just not really liking Wyatt! Of course, as I told my mother-in-law when she said she didn’t like the name we had picked out for our son “Not your baby, not your decision”….So I respectfully say, welcome to the world, little Wyatt!
Agree with all of this. Of course it is their choice, but personally if I HAD to have the name Wyatt mixed in there… for a girl, I would have gone with it for the middle name. Isabelle Wyatt sounds much better!
ha ha, MrsBPitt, I LOVE what you said to your mother in law! i think with celeb’s, it’s okay to comment on the name they choose for their kids because we’re not saying what we think to them personally. i would never tell a friend or family member i didn’t like the name they chose! (i wouldn’t lie and tell them i love the name either, i just wouldn’t comment on it, and instead focus on the joy babies can bring).
I really like the name. (Should have been Channing Fez Jaderu, but whatever)
I love ya Mila but if you want privacy don’t announce the name and send people on a “guess the spawn” hunt.
I think Wyatt is better than a direction for a name. At least she has a middle name if she wants to use it. And as being a boy’s name, so is Drew but Drew Barrymore has done alright. And think of all the women walking the world with a surname for a first name like Madison. And they get by as well. All in all it seems like an okay name to me.
I thought Wyatt was a boy’s name not unisex and not all babies are cute. Get real Ashton.
I laughed when Michael k mentioned the baby initials as wik
Well maybe they will call her Isabelle. Ashton uses his middle name… His full name is Christopher Ashton Kutcher.
I am not a fan of Wyatt as a girls name. I think it’s very gruff and masculine. It’s almost on the other side of the spectrum when it comes to assigning gender roles. It’s in no way neutral and allowing her to become who she is. It’s basically telling her she’s going to be one of the boys like her mom and play sports and roughhouse with the boys.
Well tickle ma taters! That’s a dissapointment, I was thinking they would do a lovely Eastern European name. Must have been Ashton’s idea, he was probably watching a western…high.
I think she’s the one in the knit hat that’s all red and smooshy. Just my gut. No clue whatsoever. All the babies are cute.
That is actually what I thought too. Newborns generally look like their daddy (nature’s way of getting the father to accept the child or something like that), and that one looks the most like Ashton I think.
That’s a stupid name for a girl.
Absolutely.
It’s always better than Scout LaRue
Not sure about that, lol, Wyatt seems a much more naggable name – like if they have more kids – Wyatt why can’t you be more like your brother Shirley?
Wyatt, why is there a puddle here on the counter? Wyatt why are all your toys on the floor? It is a horrible name.
Totes.
so she’ll shoot from the hip, order the inquisition, rule the world as we know it and a Kunis-Kutcher.
omg. what a beautiful baby.
Easily the most beautiful newborn I’ve ever seen.
Worst celeb names for girls recently: Wyatt, north, and Lincoln
LOVE Isabelle though it’s really hard to choose between Isabelle and Isabella
Add Maxwell Drew to the list (Jessica Simpson’s daughter)
Some of the celebrity sons are getting some spectacularly bad names too. Peter Wentz has one son named Bronx Mowgli and a newborn named Saint Lazslo! The lead actress from “The Killing” named her son Larkin Zouey.
At least Larkin has a pleasant sound. I don’t mind unusual names if they at least sound nice to the ear. The ones that are ugly-sounding or deliberately attention-getting I have less patience for.
Ugh. Wyatt isn’t unisex sounding at all. It’s all male to me. Taylor or names like that have a softer edge to it. I guess when she’s a little older it will be cuter on her.
“…and privacy”?!??! this Motherfucker cant be serious!!!
It’s at this point id like to remind you all we dont know what Matt Damon Kids look like ir Anna Paquin’s kids Names or faces GTFO
wait, what? There are photos of Damon’s & Paquin’s. Also, it is known what Paquin’s kids names are, it is just her & her husband took their time in releasing the info. I know someone like Evan Rachel Wood has yet to say what her son’s name is.
I don’t have a clue what Damon’s kids look like, I don’t know any of their names and I’m not even 100% sure how many he has (3 or 4?). I know I could find that info if I went looking, but I would have to actually go looking because despite frequenting half a dozen gossip sites daily, I never hear or see anything about Damon’s kids.
I go out of my way to avoid celebrity kid information, but still, I know more about some celebrities kids than I do about some of my friends kids. I would instantly recognise any of the Jolie Pitt kids, or Bennifers kids, or Blue Ivy, North West and Suri Cruise. Add RDJ to that list after his recent Vanity Fair article.
I like Wyatt on boys, but on girls? um nope, not conviced.
Consensus from the comments thus far: I don’t like the name because it’s a boy’s name.
So’s Drew, Lesley, Carol, Michele, Danielle.
Why does it bother you so much that the name doesn’t fit your gender requirements? Is Drew Barrymore some butch clomping around in steel toes at a demolition site? Is Carol Burnett shaving her beard and grabbing her balls on stage?
FFS, a name doesn’t define a kid, nor does it dictate who s/he will become. And, if her name becomes a source of shame for her, it won’t be because of her parents but because of people making comments like these here.
I don’t think anyone is saying that they think Wyatt is going to run around town spittin and a peeing in the back of her pickup truck. If someome named their boy Jane it would be up for discussion, why is this any different? Personally, I don’t like the name for a boy or a girl, but in the whole scope of the universe I really don’t care if they name their kid Foot, Tree or Brick for that matter.
Drew Barrymore’s first name is a family surname, it is not a masculine name. Nobody names their son Carroll or Marion anymore, they were once popular boys names but now they are out of fashion. Just because people have gender assumptions about names doesn’t mean they are being judgmental, they’re just used to hearing them used for one sex or the other. And names do matter, sociologists have studied it, your name influences your life.
Congrats to them! Babies are such a blessing.
However, I don’t like their choice for her first name! Wyatt is a masculine name. Seems to be a trend with celebrities, as Jessica Simpson names her daughter Maxwell.
Interesting how they name give their sons feminine names like – Jill, Dorothy, Abigail, or Jessica for that matter but think it’s fair game to usurp boys’ names for their daughters.. I don’t get it. I prefer pairing a unisex name with a masculine or feminine name based on gender: Jesse Samuel vs Jesse Rose for example.
Definitely not the name I thought they would pick.
I actually like it. When my daughter was born, I picked a name that was cute for a kid but would be dignified as an adult. That ruled out anything ending in “i’ because no one would take her seriously. I went with Emma, my first and only choice. This was before everyone had the name. You couldn’t find a mug or child license plate with that name. That was before “Friends” hijacked it. (Still grumbling about that.)
Ah, Friends… Looks like Rachel stole your baby name as well as Monica’s… ha!
Wyatt for a girl is pushing it in regards to the unisex name trend. Maybe she’ll go by her middle name instead?
I am nowhere near having babies, but I always thought I might name one of my girls Wyatt (it is my best friend’s last name) but looking at the reactions here, and the fact that it is now Ashton Kutcher’s baby’s name, I am having second thoughts.
So who are the other babies? Did he randomly pull them off the internet? Did he ask the parents permission or does his special snowflake only deserve privacy?
I like the name. My girl’s middle name is Gryffin. I kinda wanted that to be her first name but I kept getting the no that’s way too masculine for a girl’s name.
Hey kcarp, I was thinking the exact same thing! Who are all the other babies and where did he get their photos? Hope he got permission from their parents before using them, if not that would be a huge breach of their privacy… the very same privacy he wants for his own little girl.
Also I really like the name they have picked!
this. not very respectful of the privacy of the other infants, is he? Such a douchetool.
I don’t really see why some names have to be used by only one gender – why can’t Wyatt be a unisex name? Who decides which names can be used for both girls and boys? I know traditionally and historically Wyatt is a masculine name, but traditions and times change – why not names too? Plenty of men used to be called Lindsay (and I’m sure some still are), because that used to be a traditionally male name, but I’d say it’s definitely more associated with females today.
Tracy,Alexis, Leslie,Sasha, Meredith are all unisex names that are mostly associated with females. BTW Lindsay is the feminine spelling and Lindsey is the masculine spelling. There are men that still have Lindsey as a first name. Lindsey Graham and Lindsey Buckingham to name a few.
Yeah, but Graham is 59 and Buckingham is 65. I think you made her point. 🙂
if you look really close, i think all of the pictures are the same baby, just different angles , they all have the same nose 🙂
Hey Maria, after seeing your comment I looked at all the pictures again, and I think you are right! They all look like the same baby!
I absolutely love the name Wyatt, it was on my list of boy names when I was pregnant, but ended up having a girl I named Milla, which I now wish I spelled with one l since a lot of people mispronounce it. I never thought of Wyatt for a girl but I really like it! I also thought that picture must be her, looks a lot like Mila in my opinion, she’s cute, but I don’t think all newborns are cute. When I look back at pictures of my own I realize I must’ve been in a fog to think she was cute those first few weeks, lol.
Wyatt is a cute name for a girl. Ryan and Dylan are names girls are getting now. I went to school with a girl named Shawn. I think it’s cute.
Just makes me think of Charmed haha, Piper (Holly Marie Combs’s character) names her first son Wyatt. I had never heard of the name before then. It’s okay. Personally would not name my kid that, makes me think of watts and lightbulbs.
I like the name, I’ve only known one Wyatt in my life, a distant cousin, and he was male. I’ll admit though, I was hoping there’d be some Ukrainian in there somewhere for the name (I say this as a Ukrainian-Canadian myself) lol.
My first thought after reading the name was “I hope we’re being Punk’d”!!!!
I just don’t like the name for a little girl, sorry.
I think we are getting punked on the baby photo all being of the same baby, but I think the name is the real deal – unfortunately.
Are girls not allowed to have “boy” names? I want to name my daughter James if I ever have one. I like it and think it sounds cool.
I love James for a girl! That’s my dads name and I would’ve named my daughter that but my brother said he wanted it in case he ever has a son. I think it’d be so cute for a girl!
We named our 7 week old boy Wyatt. It’s totally getting to be a more trendy name but we didn’t care, we love it so much. For a girl I find it really strange.
I guess Wyatt is the name du jour. .. in the past year two of my friends (who don’t know each other) gave their sons this name. ….
Calling her John Wayne wouldn’t have been any more ridiculous.
at least John Wayne sounds more feminine and like it will be a nice person – Wyatt sounds like the name of an old lady who will spend time complaining to the painters about her living room being painted robins egg blue instead of turquoise – after the room has been fully painted.
My middle name, Whitney, sounds feminine, but it was originally a “man’s name.” It came from a guy my mom knew. Ryan is a bitchin’ name for a girl. I went to school with a male Stacy and a male Ashley. My mom went to school with a male Jody and a male Kim. We’re not that old, either. Gender-specific names are so yesterday.
Uncle Barbara and aunty Douglas both agree with you.
I vote for calling her Wyzzy or Wyzzabelle.
I’m already asking wy kutcher?
Okay, so now we know. Big deal. I think Isa is cute.
