Ever since Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult signed up for the film Equals, there were rumors about a possible love-match. Those rumors heated up with Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence split up on the eve of the Equals production. Hoult and K-Stew seemed friendly and sort of bro-y and they even did their ALS Ice Bucket Challenge together. Personally, I’ve been thinking this whole time that Kristen has a girlfriend and that Kristen and Hoult are just buds. But this Page Six item made me think again:

The pair, co-stars in the upcoming “Equals,” were seen cozying up at a Cinema Society bash for Stewart’s new film “Clouds of Sils Maria” at Omar’s.
We’re told they “stuck together throughout the party,” which was also attended by Patti Smith, Juliette Binoche and Viggo Mortensen.
Stewart was overheard saying at the screening she liked the script because it makes “comments about how insane the media can be.”
Can they be bros and still hang out together at a party? Sure. Does anything sexy have to happen? Nope. But my radar is pinging, especially since Hoult doesn’t even have any connection to Clouds of Sils Maria at all. He literally just came out for Kristen. Does a guy do that just for a new female friend without any hope of hot armpit action?
Now…I’ll admit that I love Hoult and J-Law together – I always thought he grounded her and calmed her. But now that J-Law is with Chris Martin, Hoult might have fallen for She Who Lip-Bites. The crazy fans who feel like it’s a competition between J-Law and K-Stew are going to have a field day with this. Just know: Hoult is the new Sparkles!!! YAY.

I am lol’ing at Kaiser’s “sad belly shirt”! I used to have a top that looked very similar to that…but I wore it around the house. I think it started off attached to something (dance wear or a skirt, I can’t remember), and I chopped it off and would wear it around my house to clean. It was like skanky lounge wear and I loved it, until I came to my senses. I’ve since upgraded to mumus, of course! 😉

If you look at the body language in that interview: before they ask he has his knees loosely akimbo; he’s facing interviewers; his hands are loosely clasped in front of him. When they ask he does smile, but given he then folds his arms defensively around himself, crosses his legs, and turns his whole body away from the interviewers and towards Paltrow while looking angry as hell, I would imagine it was a nervous reaction, that smile. I would also expect that they’d said no questions on that subject before the interview, and she ignored it for ratings.
On another note: what an incestuous world they live in, where you have Chris Martin’s ex-wife’s brother and current GF’s ex in the same project and sitting on the same interviewer’s sofa. The overlaps are constant. It’s like 19th century European royalty, where everyone kept marrying their own distant cousins. (Or in many cases, not so distant.)

I think he was put on the spot with this. Normally you might want to check with your ex about questions like this. His answer is pretty minimal, makes me think they have not really talked about it.

I have a really hard time believing that she’s straight.
I don’t think she and RPatz were really in love or anything. I always thought they were buds who liked to wear each other hoodies and bounce around LA together but not a real loved up couple. But if she weren’t straight why would she be with a married man? It just seems she would be caught with a woman. I know she was really close with KP’s assistant, but they were never seen kissing or holding hands or anything. My sense is she’s probably more asexual than anything else, but again, whatever she had with the director guy was just really irresponsible and strange, yet why do it unless there wasn’t some kind of genuine attraction?

@Rhiley. I think she’s bisexual but that the relationship with RPattz was likely PR for the films. I buy that she and RPattz were friends, but that’s it….they were papped more apart than together and when they were papped together it was almost always in a huge group. Not to mention the PR/tab stories around Shailene Woodley and Theo James was very similar when Divergent was released, and both films were done by the same studio. Also, the director guy was a first time director with no real power or personality, so I do think there was a physical attraction. She’s also had more chemistry with her co-stars, both men and women, than she ever did with RPattz in interviews. Anyway, JMO… there were a lot of weird things about “Robsten” to the point that it was likely PR for Twilight.

If you say Nicholas Hoult a lot of people will be clueless about who your talking about but emntion Jlaw ex and rumored Kstew boyfriend and people put a face to him. So it might be a good PR for the movie but not so much for Nick. His name on the press is too related with his ex and now Kristen. If he wants a name for himself he would avoid that.

I’m pretty neutral on K. Stew but I think this couple is, as Lainey would say, very good for Gossip. Especially because J. Law and Nicholas Hoult are going to shoot another X-Men movie together.
This feels like Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgaard in that them hanging out together and encouraging a little gossip about them just helps bring attention to the movie they did. The sightings are all friendly but no overt affection, and the gossip gets their movie title out there more. But I just can’t picture the guy who struggled dealing with the trappings of Jennifer Lawrence’s fame not having a problem dealing with Kristen Stewart’s.

It doesn’t matter if Kristen Stewart or Jennifer Lawrence’s is a bigger star – both women are incredibly famous around the world. Arguing which one is more famous is about as arbitrary as comparing penis size.

@Gillian1: Jennifer Lawrence has received a tremendous amount of support regarding the stolen photos (of course there will always be those that criticize, disagree,etc.,) but, the support for Lawrence has really been strong. I do not sense any backlash at all.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to imply J-Law deserves a backlash – I just think that she’s reached such a stage of fame that lots of people will be lining up to try and cut her down to size (as happens a lot with female stars because there’s still a lot of nasty sexism around). It didn’t happen with the photos, because she handled the situation so well and took such a strong stance, but something else will emerge – just see the ridiculously over-the-top reaction to her gluten-free comment in the VF interview on this site. The FugGirls have covered her the past couple of days and they pointed out that there are a lot more photos available of Kristen genuinely smiling on the red carpet as she promotes her indie films- Clouds of Sils Maria, Still Alice, and Camp X-Ray. They’re right- she looks happy, and more at ease.
I chalked it up to actually being proud and enthusiastic about the projects she’s promoting, a little bit of maturity, and the fact that she had a bit of a break… but other commenters think that she’s in love, which I could see.
