Life & Style points out what they say is an inadvertent slip by Angelina suggesting her relationship with boyfriend Brad Pitt is in trouble. Reader’s Digest published an interview with Angelina in their latest issue, in which she says that she told Brad she wanted to try for a biological child before they had Shiloh, and talks about her family life.
In an unpublished section of the interview, available in audio form through the Reader’s Digest website, Angelina made a comment that makes it sound like all is not well at home. She said “So many parents today do separate, and they still have a commitment to the children.”
That’s all that Life & Style really mentions about the interview, but when you hear it in context she is explaining their choice not to get married and is saying that marriage doesn’t mean that people will stay together. I didn’t think it meant that she’s not happy at home when I heard the whole interview.
Interviewer: Have you thought about getting married or are you against it? You once said you weren’t good at relationships…
Angelina: Um, I don’t know if I’m good at marriage. I’m now beginning to think I’m really good at relationships. I don’t know, I think the um, there’s no big kind of, you know, conspiracy behind our decision not to, it’s just been, I think we’re two people who’ve been married before, and our focus when we got together was family, and we are legally bound to our children, and that seems to be the most important thing, and that should be the first, but I mean so many parents today do separate and they still have a commitment to the children that is something that you can never change, and that has got to be, should be, and what I came to understand, it didn’t matter to me as much how somebody committed to me, but it mattered a great deal to me how they committed to my child.

The thing is, in the audio segment this comes right before this Angelina gushes about how she met Brad and had so much in common with him. She also told a cute story about how much fun the kids are and how they make them laugh.
When you hear what she said in context, it’s not like she’s saying they’re having trouble at all. Life & Style is blowing that one comment out of proportion and running it on the cover to sell magazines this week.
Here are new pictures of Brad taking Zahara and Pax to kindergarten this morning. They are attending kindergarten at the US Ambassador to Czechoslovakia’s The Czech Republic’s residence. The picture of Zahara pointing at the photographers is pretty cute. Thanks to Splash News for these pics.
