Charlie Hunnam covers the December issue of Men’s Health. The dusty, motorcycle-y part of the photoshoot is boring and sort of Brad Pitt-esque (hasn’t Brad done those photos a million times?), but the white-wall photos are great. Charlie does have an amazing body, and much like Brad Pitt’s famous abs, I’m guessing that a lot of dudes tell their trainers “I want Charlie Hunnam’s body.” So, Charlie is an obvious choice for the cover of a men’s health magazine. In the interview, Charlie talks about working on the last season of Sons of Anarchy, plus the importance he places on physical exertion.
How he feels after completing a film or TV show: “There’s a brutal reintroduction back into your regular life, which has been completely f**king neglected for six months. I imagine with Sons…that’s going to be exacerbated tenfold. I can feel weird and lost – I’m prone to it. I wanted to avoid falling into a dark pit of existential crisis this time, so over the last 18 months I’ve been setting up some projects. I felt working through the transition was the healthiest way to deal with it.’
He works out to feel better mentally: “I get more out of fitness mentally than I do physically. It’s like an oil change. Your body is mostly water and it gets dirty, you know? You have to clear the dirty water otherwise it’ll corrupt everything; your thoughts, emotional process and body. I get addicted to the endorphin release of working out – my whole physiology relies on that. If I get injured or I don’t have time, I’ll start to feel cloudy, then depressed.’
Why he likes to bulk up: “I can’t take my shirt off and just be skinny. When you see a guy beating up people and being a general badass, you assume he’s going to look pretty formidable.”
I agree with him – I started working out regularly (three to four times a week, lots of cardio & weight training) about four years ago and not only have I lost weight and toned up, but I just feel better mentally. And when I don’t get my workouts in, I feel like hell, mentally and physically. Of course, my gym-going coincided with my radical cut-down on alcohol-drinking too – I only do the odd glass of wine here and there. That’s helped me feel loads better too.
Oh, and Charlie is going to be working out even harder now – he just signed on to A Prayer Before Dawn, a true story of Billy Moore, who was a prisoner at the Klong Prem prison in Thailand. Moore studied Muay Thai boxing, so Hunnam is going to be in crazy-shape.

#yum
Yum is right !!!
My husband and I agree that we can celebrity cheat if I get to sleep with Charlie and he with Salma Hayek. It’s a win win situation ;-P
I am seriously GIDDY with joy that CB featured Charlie Hunnam!
LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
Also – has anyone noticed that he lost a bit of weight this SOA season? Like, his face looks skinnier. We have yet to see the glorious Hunnam Hump this season though. :/
Can’t wait for him to finish the show and become a proper movie star!
Charlie is the hottest man on the planet. SEX ON LEGS! I can’t say I want SOA to end but I do,want to see Charlie become a movie star.
Yasssss! I am here to receive his hotness. Not even my type, but I don’t care.
Can I just say yum and sit back and drool? I would really hurt that boy… Oops. That slipped.
Hot.
HOT HOT HOT
Damn, this quakerstate smelling mofo is hot
I have never been able to figure out why people find this yahoo so damn attractive. Makes sense today. LOL.
He looks really good here
he’s so pretty
SMOKING.
He is soooooo much hotter than Brad. Most importantly he makes sense in his interviews and doesn’t sound as if he takes himself too serious.
I wish he would get even 1/3 of the coverage that Cumberbatch gets.
Charlie doesn’t want it. He likes living under the radar and he’s very private.
I guess I’m like the guys at the gym, because I want Charlie Hunnam’s body, too.
And I’m the same about working out. Makes everything better, inside and out.
yep I agree on both counts!
I love what he said about how its more effective for him mentally than physically. I started out running a few years ago because I wanted to look slim, have a nice butt, whatever. Now I call it therapy! Its just so good for the mood. Depression runs deep in my family and I’d do anything to avoid taking anti depressants (which are alarmingly over prescribed in my opinion). Proper exercise goes a very long way to help I have found.
I agree. My mood tends to suffer if I don’t work out. To boot, I get a lot of pent-up energy I don’t know what to do with if I don’t work out.
*catches vapors*
*blesses Kaiser a million times for the Hunnam post*
I love the idea that in his next movie he is playing a Muay Thai boxer. That most likely means we’ll see alot of that hot body. That’s the only endorsement I need to see the movie. Half naked Charlie? I am in like Flynn.
He is so good as Jax Teller and has done some other very good movies. Loved him in Green Street Hooligans. Can’t wait to see more of his talent.
Never heard of this guy and not interested in him but the headline intrigued me. I’m my experience he is absolutely spot on with that comment. If I get out of my w/o routine I truly feel like crap…

Charlie is everything! I’m going to miss soa,but it had a long run. Can’t wait for his future projects, hope he gets more coverage around here. Exercise makes everything better.
Oooft. I lust after him in the worst possible way.
Boy I am going to miss not seeing him on Tuesday nights! Good luck to him after Sons end.
He’s such a sweetheart, everyone who has met him has nothing but nice things to say about him.
He stars with Tom Hiddlestone and Jessica Chastain in Chrimson Peak.
I am ready for movie star Charlie Hunman. Usually, the hairy, rugged thing doesn’t do it for me, but it works for him, and it is working for me. I’m also amused that he’s fully owning up to the fact that he buys into “MANLY MAN” body stereotype.
(He’s right about the workout high, though. Even light exercise makes me feel better than no exercise.)
God, he is so sexy. And I agree Kaiser. Like you, I try to work out four times a week and If I don’t get to exercise I can definitely tell a difference.
I’ve like Charlie since he did Nicholas Nickleby (when he was a skinny, skinny guy). It still blows my mind that that nice English guy plays a rough ‘n tumble biker. But he does it so, so well. I can’t wait to see him in other projects – I hope the studios are lining up to cast him.
Yeah, i want his body too! This guy is growing on me, he keeps getting hotter. He dodged a bullet with grey.
I so agree with you. Whatever the reasons why he pulled out, I think CH wins big for not being part of 50 shades.
Hot and adorable! When he speaks with his Brit accent is the best.
More Charlie please!
