Jennifer Aniston recently told Oprah that she found a gray hair – a long gray hair in fact. So maybe that’s why she decided to fly her hairstylist across the world at a cost of £40,000 ($US50,000) a week.
The sky-high bill came because Miss Aniston, 40, insisted her hairdresser Chris McMillan accompany her on a week-long trip to Europe.
He flew with her from Los Angeles to London in first class last week, at an estimated cost of £14,400 each.
Hair guru: Aniston with her hairstylist and close friend, Chris McMillan, in Los Angeles
They returned to London so Miss Aniston could walk the red carpet at Leicester Square on Monday.
On top of this, Mr McMillan was treated to an all-expenses-paid stay at several top hotels for the seven-day visit at a cost of £10,000.
It is thought that he also charged up to £1,500 a day for his tress-teasing expertise, pushing up the bill by another £10,500.
It is unclear whether Mr McMillan, who is a close friend of Miss Aniston, was paid personally by her or by the film’s production company, Fox.
Jennifer Aniston is 40 years old, and looks ten years younger. The reason for this is because she spends so much time and money on her appearance I guess, and if Jen (or her production company) is willing to pay for it that’s their business. I know many people will say that the money could have gone to a better cause, but I know that there is little in this world that could induce me to giving up my hair routine, although obviously mine is somewhat more economic. The other reason for bringing her hairdresser with her could be that Jen and Chris McMillan are friends, and perhaps he was as much a companion as a hair stylist.
The one thing that gets me about this is that Jennifer Aniston has had the same hairstyle with minor variations since she grew out the ‘Rachel’ in 1995. Surely she can style it herself now, at the Marley and Me premiere she looked great (I love that blue color on her) but it was hardly a departure.
Jen is clearly not adverse to investing in her appearance, but says she won’t use botox again.
‘I tried Botox once and it was really not good for me,’ she told Elle magazine. ‘I felt like I had a weight on my head.’
She added: ‘I think it makes women look older. Harder. The warmth in their face goes away.
‘You see women and you know they’re not young, but you can’t tell how old they are. That’s what stopped me.’
I absolutely agree with Jen about this – to me Nicole Kidman is the ultimate example of the best and worst of botox. She has no wrinkles, but she looks older because her face is so much harder. Still, its a hard thing to judge as we don’t know what people with cosmetic surgery would have looked like if they’d allowed the aging process to occur naturally.

$40,000 for straight hair. That does nothing. But be hair. Long, straight hair. Which means it does even less than say a bob would do.
How self indulgent can you get?
lola: for real. Long, straight hair that does nothing. It looks flat ironed and that’s pretty much it. My hair “stylist” does the same thing for $15.00.
Her stylist may be her friend and she gave him a treat.
I do see what she means about botox making women looking older and harder even though they have no wrinkles. It works for Simon Cowell though, he says he uses a little. I am sure no one in hollywood over 30 has escaped it.
jennifer aniston w/o her hair is …. who again?
But I’m guessing the lip injections and nosejobs are still on the table?
I need to stop reading crap about her, because it’s really starting to affect my love of Friends.
I’m trying to avoid Aniston threads – but I popped in to say:
OI LOHAN… THIS is what tens of thousands worth of hair should look like. Sit, watch and learn.
And for feck sake brush the damn hair that came courtesy of poor women in Asia.
Production company tax write off? Can you say zero income tax?
another spoiled, self-indulgent celebrity. If she donated half that money to charity, she’d be easing the suffering of a lot of people and surely still get a decent cut and color to boot.
I wish she’d cut that 1970’s stick-straight hair!!! I don’t like that style on anyone…no style at all. She looked better with the “Rachel” cut way back when! She ought to be ashamed of herself for spending that much money…talk about being spoiled.
Can you tell that I don’t like her? She was always my least favorite Friend…and this story just confirms it…LOL
I understand their looks are important in their field and I’m pretty sure the studio (Fox) only paid for the stylings (around $14K) and she paid for the travel expenses, but still this does seem outrageous, especially in today’s economic meltdown. Also, not to be too catty, but it’s straight hair with a part down the middle, is that really so hard to do? The coloring I can understand being more costly, but it just seems like a lot of money to run a blowdryer through it. I imagine she donates a lot of money to charity, but maybe she should contribute a little more (just for the good PR, if nothing else).
wow, in our economy troubles she is spending 50 grand for hair style that hasn’t changed in 20 yrs. great investment Jen
you douchbag
Did she have lip injections too?
If so, where are they?
ZOMG Flat Iron. $50 K and she doesn’t even get another hippie braid?!?
My god.
I’d ask for my money back if I ended up with flat, ironed-looking hair with a streaky dye job and dark roots.
And it still doesn’t make her attractive.
At the risk of defending Aniston – it probably does take the best part of 40 minutes of hairdrying to get it looking like that. I used to be a straight-hair fiend too and have the type of coarse wavy-curly hair she has, and it looks so much better blowdried straight than poker-ironed – it has that bounce and the ends don’t dry as much.
I’d want it to come with strands of spun gold working their way magically in for a $14k blowdry though. 😐
Of course her hairdresser is her friend – who wouldn’t be friendly with someone paying them all that cash?
She had a little bit of fat injected into her lip and when she was filming Marley and Me she clearly had some face work done like restalyne to add collagen. I find it very, very hard to believe she doesn’t use botox.
I’m sure if you google it there are before/after photos, several gossip websites show the work she’s had done.
A week?! At that price, learn to do it yourself. Seriously.
I guess the time she cut her hair to avoid the ‘tyranny’ of it didn’t stick then?
Aniston is a perfect example of laziness.
OMG! She never!
I don’t think she looks 30 — she looks GREAT, don’t get me wrong. But her hair style is so dated now. I know it is her signature look, but out in the real world the only women that would wear their hair like that are, well, 40.
Yeah she had botox just ONCE and I’m Marilyn Monroe reincarnate. Does that mean she’s going to give up the Juvederm and Restylane injections as well? Fucking liar.
What a self-centered, talentless and stupid celebrity!
I also hate the way she’s trying to make it look like Brad cheated on her while in fact, they both declared it was an amicable divorce.
Silly woman of 40!
By the way, I’m one of those people who think Friends was nothing special at all. In fact, it ruined t.v.
I saw the infomercial and was like oh my gosh that’s amazing, but now reading all these comments I’m unsure.
Jenifer Aniston always refused and lied about her cosmetic surgeries until people find out. She still refuse it. Disnonest Jen. Look back her young age pictures. She is not pretty..She ugly. Look at her now. 100% fake. From hair, eyes, nose, lip, wrinkles gone, boobs, stomach. Everything was fixed. SHE 100% PLASTIC . No wonder why Brad lefted her for Jolie. Clearly, he want beautiful wife and beautiful children.
Jenifer Aniston just pay money to get high maintenance but not giving money to help the poor.
