Nicki Minaj wore Alexander Wang to last night’s AMAs. This is a cute little dress, and she paired it with Manolo Blahnik pumps. At first, I thought it was a boring dress, but it’s very detailed with all sorts of cutouts and a pleated mesh skirt. The runway version is easier to size up because Nicki’s heavy hair covers up some of the fun. I still can’t get used to Nicki’s “serious” face. The pink lipstick bugs.
Selena Gomez also went for basic black in Armani Privé. This dress is okay, but I feel like we’ve seen her wear it a million times before. Ditto for the smoothed back hairstyle with a center part. Selena performed her Bieber-inspired epic song, “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” and you can see the clip here. She stood in front of a pair of CGI angel wings.
Uzo Aduba wore black too, but she looked fantastic. She looked glam in her Vivienne Westwood dress with sparkly, star-shaped embellishments. Her hair and makeup were polished. Beautiful.
Taylor Schilling wore a Vionnet Resort dress that was far too busy in its detail. The cuts of the dress went in all directions, and the little peplum added to the overload. Her hair and makeup were blah.
Guiliana Rancic wore a color-blocked Alex Perry dress with an assymetrical thigh-high split. Her clutch is Rolf. She usually goes for fluttery dresses, so this is a nice change. The little belt gives her super slender figure a little bit of shape.

Nicki looks uncomfortable in the photos. Her performance with that piano chic is good and the dress she wore there was cute. That gold tin foil outfit with Ariana Grande however was dreadful.
I see Nicki has gone back to her lace fronts.

It’s meant for a slimmer frame, Niki has curves, or maybe just resized to fit her better.
This isn’t her “serious face”, this is her “new face”.
And Selena, Morticia Addams is the only one who can rock this kind of dress.

Niki is an incredibly beautiful woman, always. Especially since she has given up the extreme make-up bit. I like the dress and then I don’t. The cut-outs ruin it for me.
Nikki doesnt seem very happy. I get the impression she is sad/angry in general.
I think people expect Nicki to be on all the time. She isn’t, she was being herself which she claims is shy. I believe her. Most comics have depressive personalities, i.e. Jim Carey, Robin Williams, John Belushi, et al. It’s not that hard to believe that as flamboyant as she is on stage, that off stage she is a completely different person.
Uzo Aduba looks gorgeous! I love how she always looks so excited on red carpets. It’s very refreshing to see someone that conveys such happiness.
I think Nicki looks cute in a “I’m going to this event even though Iggy Azalea is going to win” kinda way..lol!

I kind of love her dress too. She does always seem so excited to go to these events, and I like how close the OITNB cast seems. I follow Uzo on FB and she’s often posting photos of them at events and publicizing the show.

I’ll take Nikki’s somberness and this dress over her past cartoon looks and heavy make-up anyday. Salena looks like Morticia in that dress. Taylor Schillings dress def looks like a linen napkin draped over the shoulder. I don’t care for any of these get-ups. Yuck!

You can’t convince me that is Nicki’s real hair! her forehead looks like Theresa Guidice’s.
I’d have gone with a red lip, but otherwise, I rather liked this on her. The sporty, edgy look I associate with Jason Wu works well with her image.
Normally Selena looks younger than she is, but here she looks a little older. I like it- the hairstyle, the earrings, the makeup, and the dress. I liked her other two looks at the AMAs too- especially the white dress she wore on stage. The rest of these are kind of boring. I wanted to like Nicki’s dress, but there’s something about the material that’s too weird.
I don’t know if I’ve seen anyone look more PLASTIC. Not Kim, not Bey, not Katy, not Miley. Dayum!
