I’m trying to decide who Allison Williams looks like on this Glamour cover. I mean, she’s a pretty girl, but her features can go in wildly different directions depending on the styling, and she’s giving me a weird un-Allison vibe on the cover. Oh, it just came to me: she looks like Eva Amurri, Susan Sarandon’s daughter. Right? Anyway, Allison covers the February issue of Glamour to promote the new season of Girls (Season 4). Lena Dunham got the cover of Elle, so Allison got the cover of Glamour. And that’s the pecking order, I would guess. You can see the full Glamour slideshow here, and here are some interview highlights:
Her future goals: “I have vague EGOT goals. Who doesn’t? I have zero of those so far, so I have a lot of work to do.”
When she’ll start a family: “I have a lot of questions: How do I get to a place in my career where I can go be a mom for a little while, and then come back and be a mom and an actress at the same time?…Every time I find a woman in film, an actress who has kids, I, like a sociopath, corner her and ask, ‘How did it work?’ Everyone says, ‘Don’t think so much.’ Jemima [Kirke], from Girls, is always saying, ‘Just get pregnant! Just have a baby.’ And I’m like, ‘You are so much cooler than I am.’ I love what I do, but I have no doubt that when I start my family, that’s life. This is my job, but that’s life.”
On public scrutiny: “Being analyzed about my weight drives me crazy. It’s easier to say, ‘Oh, she must be anorexic and depriving herself,’ than it is to say, ‘She might have a fast metabolism.’ I deprive myself nothing. But that’s an annoying thing to say, right?”
Doing Peter Pan Live!: “The day of the performance, I was focused, chill, then emotional. My makeup artist had to redo all my makeup because I cried so much before the show started. Then, the minute I flew out the window in the end, I burst into tears again. To tell a cast that opening night is also closing night is just crazy.”
She hasn’t gotten a part in a movie yet, but she’d like to: “The number of scripts that take my breath away are few and far between. There are some that are gorgeous, but I want to play all the male roles in them. I always ask, and I’m always told no.”
Ha. Can you imagine? An actress playing a supporting part in a critical darling TV show gets a film script that she deigns worthy enough of her efforts, but only if she gets to play the male part? Well, kudos to her for thinking outside the box, I guess. But I think that’s probably the even bigger reason why she hasn’t been in a movie yet. As for her EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) dreams, I kind of like her for admitting it. I think most actors believe that they’re going to EGOT but they don’t want to say it because they’re not supposed to care that much about the awards, right?

She reminds me a lot of Amanda Peet in these photos.
Yep.
Yeah! And I’m getting a little SJP in the second photo.
Anna Chlumsky, from Veep/My Girl.
Oh yeah- good one.
I want to know how her thirst is less annoying than Lena’s. AW is so annoying but she gets so much less hate on this site.
She doesn’t get in people’s faces that much.
As for the cover, she reminds me of one of the Willis/Moore girls. The second pic too.
They are both annoying. AW & LD.
My first thought was she looked like Amber Heard. Or and Amber Heard/Kiera Knightley blend of some kind.
Joaquin Phoenix doesn’t, I would have thought.
i can’t think of a blander and duller girl out there than her.
She is just annoying to me. A daddy’s girl that got everything in life because of her rich and influential parents.
Exactly, just like every other actress on Girls. That’s also why she’s in the position to hunt for scripts that “take her breath away” (ugh). She’ll always have her parents’ connections to fall back on, so why should she have to pay her dues?
She’s such a snooze. Although her Simple skincare commercial is the most unintentionally hilarious thing I have ever seen. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XhxQIvR2xdw That EGOT is within reach!
I thought she looked like Katy Perry in the top photo.
That comment about wanting to play the male parts says a lot about a value of female roles in most of the movies. I guess it’s better not to be in a movie than to play the male lead’s mattress. She’s not a great actress but she’s got connections which probably makes her an equal in opportunities to much more talented girls but the scripts just aren’t there. Hollywood still has a long way to go in terms of gender equality.
I find her oddly fascinating. Can’t quite put my finger on why I find her fascinating…..it’s wierd.
Probably the Gwyneth Paltrow effect? Women who are totally privileged and entitled but completely lack self-awareness.
I like her for admitting her ambitions as well. If that’s what she really wants, she might as well be honest about it.
its very telling. instead of wanting to play interesting roles and be challenged she only cares about superficial show business awards.
They all care about it, please. And I like that she admits it.
All the skinny actresses have fast metabolism… So,when she was chubbier her metabolism was slow?
I don’t put easily weight too, but i am 1,72 height and 58 kilos not 50… To get that skinny i have to deprive myself. Every one is different i guess but the ” fast metabolism” or “i just lost my baby fat” are common justifications for skinniness in Hollywood and happen to be in people that were different some years ago.
Great cover!!!!!
What is up with this Peter Pan revival thing? I hated Peter Pan when I was 4. It’s the worst show ever. She seems nice.
Couldn’t agree more. Music and book both awful and it feels like it lasts ten hours.
Endless.
I always get Jennifer Carpenter vibes from her. I think it’s the strong jawline.
The cover is awful; it’s like they told her to keep bending over until she fit in the frame. I guess it’s supposed to look casual, but it just looks smooshed.
God, she’s pretty. She’s one of the most classically beautiful actresses in the business right now – almost TOO perfect-looking.
To me that somehow makes her so bland. There’s nothing to catch my eye.
Yep.
agree, I find her so boring-looking.
I agree. I wish I had her eyes and cleft.
I thought she was striking at first too. But the more I look at her, the plainer she gets. Her nose and jaw are just off putting now. She’s very masculine and would be very plain without the blue eyes. But I think it’s also because she comes across as very immature and self-absorbed in her interviews and because Girls is so boring. Give her 10 years; she’ll learn to hide that better.
I’ll take her over Lena Dunham any day.
At least she doesn’t try to act like she hates fame, etc. Dunham is a bitter pill to swallow and arrogant.
I have watched every season of “Girls,” and I still don’t get what the fuss is about, it really is a crappy show.
True. On the contrary, she ADORES fame.
Her comments on the men’s roles makes a lot more sense if you read it as an intentional commentary on the paucity of good female roles. If it’s not, then she’s kidding herself. I do appreciate the EGOT admission, though.
She’s always reminded me of Jennifer Connelly.
Unpopular opinion: Lena over her, any day. And another unpopular opinion: I actually enjoy watching Girls.
