Julianne Moore has just been radiant this awards season. Maybe it’s the radiance that comes from a winning streak. Maybe she just takes excellent care of her skin. Maybe she’s simply a happy person. Whatever it is, she’s never looked better and that goes for her awards style too. What I like about her green Givenchy is that it’s not an in-your-face “look.” The dress is pretty simple, really. It’s an easy silhouette, in a bold emerald tone, and her styling was kept very simple too. And that’s why it works. After years of seeing Julianne try and fail with high-fashion looks, she’s edited it down and she ends up looking classic. Watch it though, now that I’ve said all of that, she’ll look like ten kinds of hell at the Oscars.
As for this emerald green – I love a redhead in green. And the color reminds me of the Prada she wore to the Oscars more than a decade ago. The one bad thing I have to say is that she could have rethought the Chopard earrings.

Here’s another favorite, Tatiana Maslany. Her guy is Tom Cullen (he’s Lord Gillingham on Downton Abbey). Her dress is Oscar de la Renta. It’s a bold choice for her – when she was on the E! show, you could see the dress in close-up and it was stunning and different. Those stripes were really amazing. In these photos, the stripes look kind of grey though. Still, this was a good choice for her and I hope she gets even more attention for the crazy work she does on Orphan Black.

Also, I hate stationary photos. A dress looks best when it moves. This is why online retailers are now showing videos with high end clothing.
I think her skin is beautiful, the dress is the perfect color for her. The shape not so much. The neckline is so blah, the whole thing just kinda hangs there looking boring. Also, while I think she is beautiful and looks great for her age, her teeth could really use a little freshening up. Whitening? Veeners? I’m not a dentist but they look a little grey and just seem to age her.
Please no veneers. The last thing she needs is giant horse teeth. The problem with milky white skin, and I speak from experience, is it makes your teeth appear less white. Bleaching them until they’re luminescent blue isn’t going to make her look better.
Your teeth look perfectly fine to me. Not everyone needs fake-looking teeth just because almost everyone in Hollywood seems to have hem.
Eh, to each her own. The veneers comment was more out of ignorance as to what they do. Hence, the “Im not a dentist” statement. Maybe just a simple whitening would be ok, no need to bleach them into oblivion. It almost looks like she drank a bunch of red wine in and that case, they make wipes for that 😉 She really is beautiful though just me nitpicking the one thing that bugs.
Two of my favorites. I almost wish Julianne would have saved that dress for the Oscars, it’s perfect for her. Hope she has something equally great for that show, because she is going to WIN.

I am such a big fan of Tatiana Maslany! I just started re-watching Orphan Black from season 1 so I will have all the details fresh in my mind when season 3 starts. Tatiana needs some award love like YESTERDAY for the incredible work she does!

It doesn’t do much for her shape, but she manages to look great anyway. Color trumps just about everything else with that dress.
I agree. Gorgeous color, but shapeless, and the beading looks too heavy, but it’s still better than most of what she has worn in the past.
I just love the geometry of Tatiana’S dress. It’s like a piece of art. Even better, her posture is perfect and really displays the dress as a supermodel would.
Sad to say I hate my goddess Julianne’s dress. The color is great but everything else about the dress is a total fail.

She managed to create multiple characters that I love like my own sisters (Seestra…). So similar in appearance, yet so distinct and fully formed as characters.

I like the colour on Julianne’s dress and the sparkles…but just not feeling it all around. Maybe if it had a different neckline? Or different straps/no straps? I dunno. Something off about it.
Tatiana looks good in these photos, but there were others I saw where the dress didn’t look that fitted in the bust area and it kind of ruined the look for me. Otherwise I think its really pretty on her.

I try not to be too biased with Julianne (I love her to pieces!) but I have to agree with you. I love the color on her but the dress makes her look bigger than she is. It does look super comfortable though, so that may have been a requirement for an event like SAG. I also loved her comment about her time on a soap. That’s when I first became a fan of hers back in the day. Unlike so many (Meg Ryan – I’m looking at you) she has embraced her soapy past and even returned to her role at the end of As the World Turns a few years ago. She didn’t have to do that at all, but it was said that she approached producers about doing it because she wanted to say thanks to those veteran actors who helped her learn her craft. Classy lady.
I LOVE Julianne for her attitude about As the World Turns. I really hate it when actors talk smack about early projects. I don’t care how “bad’ it was. I like that Julianne showed how much she appreciated the veteran actors that worked with her. Soap actors get crapped on alot but it can be a grueling medium. Those people work hard.
Ditto, I love it that Julianne doesn’t spit in the soup. And yes, soaps are no picnic, it is a grind doing that much memorizing day in day out with such a hard-core shooting schedule. She’s come a long way baby.

I’ll make this brief so I can continue googling images of Tom Cullen. I love both dresses and I too fear for the worse when it comes to Julianne’s Oscar fashion. I’m glad that she has her own sense of fashion and probably doesn’t have people styling her, but that usually goes horribly wrong (cough Melissa McCarthy).
My 2 favourite looks of the night, both women look absolutely stunning.
JM looks great in that color but i agree with other posters, the dress adds a thickness to her middle in some pictures, like the header shot. where she’s holding her award it looks much better.
everything is right about the black and white stripe dress except her too heavy eye makeup and the black, thick shoulder straps.
Tatiana’s dress is the most gorgeous dress I’ve seen in as long as I can remember. She’s gorgeous, too.
Gorgeous color on Julianne, but I feel like the dress itself would have been better in silver or gold or black or something more muted. Maybe I have Deflategate on the brain, but this, to me, screams astroturf in motion on a bad acid trip when she moves in it.
