Anne Heche, 39, and James Tupper, 43, had their first child together over the weekend, a son they named Atlas. Anne also has a 7 year-old son, Homer, with her ex-husband, Coley Laffoon. Anne and Coley had an acrimonious divorce, with accusations flying on both sides. Their divorce was finalized earlier this week with Anne ordered to pay an over half million settlement.
Anne Heche and beau James Tupper welcomed their first child together over the weekend, her rep confirms to Usmagazine.com.
Atlas Heche Tupper weighed in at six pounds, 12 ounces, the rep adds.
Heche finalized her divorce from ex Coley Laffoon — the father of her 7-year-old son, Homer — earlier this week.
“Homer is very excited to be a big brother,” a source tells Us.
Heche exclusively confirmed she was pregnant to Usmagazine.com in December. “They are thrilled,” her rep told Us then.
She and Tupper first met in 2006 on the set of their short-lived ABC drama Men In Trees while Heche was still wed to Laffoon.

The names Homer and Atlas both come from Greek mythology, with Homer attributed as the author of epic poems the Iliad and the Odyssey and Atlas a Greek God who held up the heavens. Homer and Atlas are odd baby names, but there are worse, particularly among celebrity families. Considering that this is Anne Heche we’re talking about she could have picked something much more stigmatizing. Congratulations to Anne and James.

She is a disgusting human being and I am so sorry that she has chosen to reproduce. I just hope those boys do NOT take after her in any way.
and come on…Atlas? Please.
Poor kid.
Atlas and Homer – such wonderful names. I foresee years in therapy because these kids will be wondering why their parents set them up to be ostracized by every bully in school.
No doubt! The last names are so quirky that having a ridiculous first name as well is just irresponsible. Yes they are her kids and she can name them Ishkabibble if she wants, but at some point it becomes a bit cruel.
Atlas, I like it. Hope the boy won’t have the world on his shoulders though…
LOL, my feeble attempt at humour…
But I do like the names. Homer is a particularly gorgeous name. But the pitfall with a name like that is obviously Homer Simpson — many people make that connection first, before thinking more… philosophically?
Yes…I’m sure Homer is THRILLED that his batshit mommy lives far away from him, remarried, and has a new baby that gets to live with her while he has to fly back and forth.
I’m sure he’s ECSTATIC.
Congrats on the baby.. but I bet Ellen is thanking her lucky stars she dumped Anne’s ass.. LOL
The woman is cuckoo cuckoo, but Atlas is a nice name.
cool, maybe they can name the next one Globe, Map or Nautical Chart.
How bout Plato.
Sorry but nothing beats Homer Laffoon. eh?
The image of Atlas holding up the world advances the idea that it takes a strong superpower to preserve the planet. But since commercial films are designed to appeal to a 14 year old intellectual capability complex issues like
globalization, the shift to fascism and the new world order must be embedded in young minds by using the language of antiquity to reintroduce out dated narratives of one world government.
By naming her new baby Atlas, Ann Heche, unconsciously, helps to condition the public to accept the New World Order and corporate fascism increasing the number of poor people who can no longer afford a ticket to her movies.
My son is named Atlas and I bleive that name is beautiful:
“Homer refers to this Atlas as “one who knows the depths of the whole sea, and keeps the tall pillars who hold heaven and earth asunder.”
