Last week, the world was astounded by the “other” blonde at Paris Fashion week. Jared Leto showed off his Karl Lagerfeld Jr. realness at the Balmain show. This was an in-between stage for his eventual Joker look. Now Karl’s Jr. (his new nickname) revealed the mysterious reason why he wore those glasses. He wasn’t trying to look cool — he was protecting us from the full reveal of his shaved eyebrows. Quick, prepare yourself!
This isn’t the first time Jared’s shaved his eyebrows for a role. He previously did so for Dallas Buyer’s Club, which made more sense. I don’t know why he’d need to shave his brows to play the Joker. Is he going to wear some neon green merkin brows? With Jared, anything is possible. He’ll go to any lengths for a role, but I appreciate that he won’t talk our ears off about his “craft.” Dude lets his work speak for itself.

+1. I believe this is in prep for his character the Joker. He is an actor and musician so he is kind of off the spectrum of normal behavior.
He scares me and I can’t put my finger on why.
It might have something to do with all the reports of his taste for suffocating underage girls entering your subconsciousness. He’s an a grade douchebag, one you should run from the second you see him. This look hopefully will help some people realise that.
There are rumors going on about him raping his female fans.
How is having shaved eyebrows try hard when it is obviously for his job and not because he’s trying to come off as edgy? Besides it’s believed that he will be playing the version of the Joker that cut off and than stapled his own face back on. So maybe the make up department needed his face completely shaven to help come up with concepts for that look that would look good on film/realistic.

Meh. They said the same thing about how Heath would never live up to Jack N’s Joker too. Sure Ledger’s death adds to the mystique around his version of The Joker, but I think Leto will deliver a unique version of The Joker that will stand up against the previous movie Jokers and be a great addition to the Joker mythos.
If Ledger hadn’t died I dont think his performance would have been legendary – it was just a bunch of quirks and tics and swallowing really loudly.

I have to say, I’m pumped to see him with green hair – I think it’s going to look awesome. He is certainly doing the bleach blonde hair way better than Kim K, eyebrows or no eyebrows. And he is good and being visible when he wants to build anticipation for a role – his producers must be happy about that. Also, I want that turquoise and red jacket.

I wish he kept to himself during his process. I always love seeing such transformations on the big screen, this is ruining the magic for me!
Well this is only the bare bone stage. It’s not like this is the final look. Plus you could always avoid stories about him and his pictures to minimize your exposure to his character transformation so that you will still be surprised by the end result.

Take another look at the woman sitting beside him and take a look at the woman in the other pic. They look like they can barely contain themselves, hell, even Oprah looked like she was going to pee her pants by just being near him. Or maybe I’m just projecting….

He shaved them for a role, didn’t he? I mean, the guy always struck me as self-important, but I don’t think this was a sudden fashion decision.
