I’ll second that!!!!!
He does absolutely nothing for me. Never has and I’ve seen him a plenty of movies.
There is something so unconventionally, dangerously sexy about that man! Damn.
there really is!
Am I the only one who watched “Going Clear” last night on HBO? I am a new fan of Jason Beghe. He cracked me up so many times through out his interviews.
And any chance Tom Cruise had of erasing folks memory…. of thinking he was not crazy. Is over. The man is completely off the reservation.
I saw it and found it very compelling, though I wish they were able to cover other topics, such as the Lisa McPherson case. And yes, Jason Beghe is a hoot.
Yeah QQ and I were saying we wished they had covered more subject matter, like, I dunno…why Shelly Miscavige hasn’t been seen since 1892 and all the mysterious deaths, etc.
There is absolutely a plethora of topics they could have covered, and it would interesting dig more into Shelly Miscavige’s whereabouts. I was telling a friend how this could easily have been a 5-part series, with topics like Hubbard’s bio and survivor stories alone being worthy of their own documentaries. Considering the legal team it took to get this off the ground, there is probably tons of reasons why more could not be said.
mimif
Wasn’t shelly seen for her father’s funeral, but didn’t look ok and hasn’t been seen since?
I watched it! I had never gotten around to reading the book, but I’d heard bits and pieces. The documentary was REALLY interesting, especially the stuff about Travolta and Cruise. Travolta seems like a guy who didn’t know what he was getting into and is now stuck, but Cruise seems to revel in it. Poor Nicole Kidman, I forget which guy but one of them clearly said his assignment was to break them up, tap her phones, and turn her kids against her – bad enough, and then she was accused of abandoning them.
I’ll be curious to see the push back from CO$ or if they will stay quiet (yeah right). I give a lot of credit to everyone who quit and is now fighting against it, that has to be very hard.
I think there’s so much more to discuss, they could have made it a mini series.
Travolta I feel some sadness for because I think he’s incredibly frightened. His career is total crap now but he will never come out. Cruise is disgusting, the only way I have seen any of his movies in the past 9 years has been for free. I refuse to support any project he’s in with so much as a cent of my money.
haven’t see the doc yet, but I plan to.
I agree with your take on Travolta, I think he feels stuck at this point. I think he was pulling away after his son died and they pulled him back with threats.
and Cruise has been a lost cause to me for a LONG time. he knows what goes on, that crap is not hidden from him and yet he stays. and I’m with you, Mia, I haven’t watched or paid for any of his movies in quite a while…and the only way I ever will again is if he leaves the cult, outright DENOUNCES them and apologizes for his cult-induced behavior for the past 20+ years.
one good thing…I’ll bet Nicole Kidman is cackling her AZZ off…she’s being vindicated and she doesn’t have to break any confidentiality agreement that she might have signed. and Katie Holmes is probably like “now EVERYONE knows why I ran…”
I also watched it (I had been waiting somewhat patiently for it to debut!). It was definitely educational. I mean, L. Ron Hubbard all but admitted during an interview that he was crazy (I believe the term “madman” was used). Even though its membership is “only” around 50,000, that’s still pretty incredible. I loved Paul Haggis saying how when the whole Xenu part of the religion was eventually revealed to him after years being a member that he thought it was some kind of sanity test. He didn’t think he was actually supposed to believe it. That pretty much says it all.
I found it interesting that Hubbard sent all of his “findings” to the Psychiatry Association in the hopes of being declared a genius by them, and when they were like “WTF? Uh, no thanks”, suddenly psychiatry was “evil”.
The one story that really got to me was the woman who was separated from her baby while she worked, and when she went to see her the baby was neglected and very ill. Her escape story was terrifying.
I have to admit, as disturbing as Going Clear was, Haggis’ anecdote about finding the truth about Xenu had me in stitches.
He always looks pouty & he & Rachel are mostly over.
Whaaaat?
Bwahh!? Nooo!
How? Why?
.?? Weiss and Craig spent holidays with the Spielberg last summer and according to some French medias,Weisz was with Craig during Spectre’s french filming
It’s the same pouty, macho face he ALWAYS makes. The guy seems incredibly boring and dull.
The law in Indiana. Those citizens have to be getting punked, right. There is no way this should have been bought to the floor and passed. My empathy goes out to the gay population and the citizens who are watching their home state go through the ringer.
I agree. As someone who has lived in IN I think the whole #boycottindiana is ridiculous. I don’t know how you can boycott an entire state but if you do you are hurting a lot of people who do not agree with this law. I guarantee that almost all of the people I know who live there do not agree with this law at all. Is Pence the first governor to do something stupid that had a negative affect on his constituents? Is he the first to pass something that people were against? No. These Celebs (George Takai) need to pick a new hashtag. Why would you assume that all of Indiana thinks like this?
Agree that the whole state is most likely not for this. But they should take a lesson from Arizona. When they did not pass the King Holiday, they lost billions. My company pulled a big meeting, the Super Bowl did not go there, tourism tanked. It can cause major financial problems if they don’t somehow rectify the situation. Having a billed labeled as “religious freedom” that in essence OKs discrimination is worse than the King issue. If they don’t want to suffer the same consequences, they need to find a way out of the darkness or it could be bad for the entire state’s finances.
Because the citizens of Indiana elected the people that made this a law.
Bridget-so you’re saying oh we’ll to bad so sad for all of the people who either didn’t vote for him or disagree with this law and they should be punished just for living in IN? I get he was voted in but nobody gets 100% of the vote so that means there are a lot of people who didn’t vote for Pence. It’s not like he ran on the platform of passing this law, if he did and still got elected then maybe I could see your point because then people would’ve been well aware of what was to come. Sometimes you don’t have a choice though and every candidate is terrible, that’s the problem with the government right now. No one seems capable of doing the right thing and everyone can be bought or they do their own thing without caring about the people it will affect. Look right next door to IL, in so much debt it’s incomprehensible and that’s just the tip of the iceberg of how bad the state has been run. Quinn was awful but the only other person left was Rauner and he’s now proving to be just as bad, if not worse but we’re stuck with him because it seems like IL can’t get a decent human being that wants to run the state. The two party system is really failing all around.
@Mel M. I do not even reply the Bridget. It is a mix of always believing they are right and have to get the last word. I have been temped a few times but chose not to engage.
He looks like a platypus in that poster 🙁
Ha ha! I was trying to figure out his meme… purr-fect!
LOL!! +1000
My girlfriends think he is an absolute hunk and I’m just meh, tbh
I’ m sorry, but a platypus is always entertaining and interesting! Endlessly entertaining and interesting! This man is too boring and dull to be compared to those creatures!
I think his face is collapsing. Are those jowls I see?
I was wondering about Flynn a couple of days ago.
He’s sooo big!
I would hit it, and I don’t even find white men attractive, prefer my latino men… you know, Amaury Nolasco, Edgard Ramirez and so on and so forth….
I think we need a younger & hotter Bond. He looks like he’s undead.
He’s hot, but how long is that upper?? Kind of skeeves me out (truth be told.)
Somebody once described Daniel Craig’s Bond as having a “sad monkey face” to me, and I’ve never found a more apt description since.
