For all of you complaining about all of the Kit Harington coverage… shhh!! First of all, I enjoy Sadface McGee and all of his whining, especially about how difficult and terrible it is when people find him attractive. The sadder he gets, the happier I am. Also, he’s been promoting projects back-to-back for more than a month: Game of Thrones, Spooks and Testament of Youth. He’s been in NYC all week doing press for ToY and that’s why we’ve had so much Kit coverage this week specifically. Kit has a new interview in the Wall Street Journal which is mostly about ToY… and poetry, and Game of Thrones. Some highlights:
Getting so many action-oriented roles: “I kind of weirdly fell into being an action hero. I have no f— idea how that happened. You have to remind people that you want to act rather than just run around. If I keep doing my own stunts in too many of those roles then I literally will turn into a stuntman, and that’s not what I got into this for.”
The poetry within ToY: “They were very my type of poems. I’ve written poems in the past—not particularly good ones—but they’ve always been three stanzas, just like his. You know, three stanzas seems to be a very easy way of writing poetry. I love reading poetry out loud.”
ToY is a feminist story: “It’s a film where there is a woman actor playing the out-and-out lead in a day and age when that’s still not very common. And actually it’s a story of feminism, and we’re in a strange way still fighting that fight today.”
On his celebrity & the obsession with his hair: “Mmm, people love talking about my hair… I don’t accept celebrity. I think it’s a really confusing part of this job. You got into this job to play roles to depict characters, and celebrity is an unfortunate side effect of that—for me. I guess I understand why people ask questions about appearance. I understand why, I don’t know why.”
[From the Wall Street Journal]
It’s worth noting that even though Wee Sadface’s previous complaints seem rather peasanty, he’s actually from a very well-to-do, educated background with many aristocratic and royal ties. He was raised in a house that prioritized education, which is where his love of poetry and literature flourished. Does the fact that he loves poetry and reciting poetry make you like Wee Sadface a little bit more?
Oh, and Kit has a new Q&A with Vulture too – he talked about Valyrian steel, and how few people are actually carrying Valyrian steel, then he laughs and says, “Yeah, we’re all f–ked.” You can read the piece here.

What rhymes with fetch?
What rhymes with Kit Kardashian?
Kristen Harington?
Oh, wow, am I seriously the only one who enjoys reading posts about Kit? I find him adorsable in his know-nothingness.
He seems like a decent chap.
I like him too.
….
Another day ,another Kit story.
Yup. I’ve just excepted it; boy does give good, Goopy like sound bites, I guess. Maisie needs to give some more “I’m 17, hear me roar!” interviews to get some coverage, I guess.
If he talked half as much as he does now it would still be too much. He needs to stop, period. He’s becoming the Megan Fox of interviews.
Just go away Kit. This article is just pointless and stupid. Yes you want to be an actor, but fame comes with the job. If you didn’t want this fame that you worked so hard for as an actor. Why are you an actor? Instead of counting your privilege blessings, you are whining.
SO BYE PHIL
“I love reading poetry out loud”
LMAOOOOOO!!!!! Personally I am grateful for all these posts. It just re-confirms he is not my type of dude. Bless.
Me too, I don’t even watch GOT and had no idea who he was before these posts started showing up. But, these posts really do amuse me.
Right? I thought he could not turn me off more, but I’m picturing myself in college, on the library steps, listening to my tortured writer boyfriend read his poetry for what seemed like an eternity….no thanks!!
Preach on.
Yet another post on this not so interesting man, I’m starting to think someone has it bad for him.
And before someone says if he’s not interesting to you why are you commenting. Because almost everyday that I check in on C/B there’s a post about him.
Bring back the flood of Cumby post. That was torture too but it was better than this Game of Thorne not so hottie.
The Kit posts are opportunities for us to go full nerd about Game of Thrones and our theories about what’s going to happen. If people dislike it so much they’re perfectly welcome to not click on them. Besides, the season is almost done anyhow.
What Bridget said, but I’d add CB-HQ will keep writing about topics we all comment on. Kit and GoT posts tend to be among the most commented on any given day. Celebitchy really caters to their readers, which is pretty cool (imo).
I don’t personally understand the level of investment on the Cumberbatch threads, but I at get that content is driven by interest. The more clicks and comments, the more posts. And I don’t begrudge folks the opportunity to talk about what interests them, even if I dont find it interesting myself.
And also hunk looks hunkier in actual grown up man clothes.
Well like I kindly said there’s almost a post on him everyday that’s why I clicked and commented. I think I already covered the snarky well don’t click on/comment on. I can comment on people I don’t care for just as I comment on people I do care for.
C/B also caters to various opinions and responses and that’s pretty cool in my opinion.
Most people on here don’t like the Kardashians but they still click on and comment now don’t they
You asked, we answered. Though thanks for adding a couple more comments to the daily tally!
Yeah I highly doubt if we hadn’t absolutely spammed the Kit posts with up to 300+ comments on GoT theories, we’d be getting daily Kit Word Salads. Clicks = $$ plain and simple. 2 weeks from now no one is going to give one pair of skinny jeans because it will sadly all be over, and you can all move on to dissecting some other sad wee soul.
Kit Harrington says words is ever so much more fun than the endless analysis of the encumbered otter and his octopus who fell from a comet. They should be birthing the baby momentarily so there will be a new Cumby thread soon.
I do really enjoy “Kit Harrington says words”. It’s way more fun than analyzing Sophie Hunter’s body language and memorizing Benedict Cumberbatch’s schedule.
Retch…oh Kit, I feel ur pain..
The way he sees himself is nothing how I see him… “Hunk”? “Action hero”? Sorry but no
Fetch Harington posts are like my CB dog whistle. I won’t complain because we have two more weeks and then we’ll have to find some other come-to-life Bronte sister novel to tease.
LMAO!!!!! He IS a real life Bronte sister.
Lolololol the long-lost Bronte sister, how long before he expires from tuberculosis?
Only 2 more weeks to go Full Nerd. Le sigh.
That’s why we must savor every moping morsel he gives us!
He’s such a good little hunk.
More coverage on Kit Harington makes me happy. He’s still cute even when he whines so much, lol.
I worry that all his tantrums might be bad for his reproductive system though. He isn’t going to be hunky forever, one day he’s going to need and want a family of his own!
I worry that his skinny jeans are bad for his reproductive system and that’s why he is always cranky
At first his constant whining put me off, but honestly…. I just think he has a very low self-esteem.
I have no problem with people disliking celebrity. Too many accept the “take good with the bad and shut up or gtfo” mentality, when it really doesn’t have to be that way.
Also inb4 people here poking fun at his height.
But man, just how hard his PR team have been cringing lately?
Laughing @ ‘the three-lined poetry’ (which, now that I’ve written it that way, seems like a euphemism for an activity more interesting than his actual writing). Might he mean haiku?
This person always seems to look like he smells something bad.
p.s. My onscreen ad box under his photo is for Huggies. Seems apt.
Three stanzas, not three lines. A stanza is a group of lines within a poem.
Has anyone seen the promo for Kit and Andy Samberg’s ‘short film documentary’ Seven Days in Hell for HBO?
House Celebitchus: my husband brought up an interesting question. Is it possible that what Dany really needs to control her dragons is a warg?
Oooo that’s interesting. Is that what the 3 heads of the dragon refer to? Would one need to be a mega warg to control a dragon?
I’m not sure. Personally, I think I prefer the dragon binder angle, but the warg thing is interesting to at least ponder.
Speaking of which – if Jon Snow is one of the heads of the dragon, how does that work with Ghost?
I’m not a book reader so I rely on you all to fill in the nerd blanks for me. The show doesn’t really go into the significance of Ghost and the other direwolves. Or I’ve totally missed the significance.
All we really know is that the Stark children are meant to have those direwolves.
And the dragon binder is a big horn that whomever blows it is supposed to be able to control dragons… but it incenerates the lungs of the person who blows it.
@Abbot, the dragon has three heads refers to the fact that they come in threes and they need three separate riders. There is a bond between dragon and rider like there is a bond between Stark and dire wolf. A dragon will only accept one person as its rider and riders can’t switch dragons. Danys has three dragons but she won’t ever be able to ride two of them.
Like the Starks, the Targaryens have their own way of bonding with their animals but it is a little different than warging. And Targaryens only bond with one dragon. Dany will find her bond in 3, 2, 1 …
It reminds me of Naomi Novik and her Temeraire books, where a dragon forms a lifelong bond with only one single person, the first person they come into contact with when they hatch.
I believe it’s impossible to warg into a dragon. The stronger the animal, the harder it is. The Starks can warg into Direwolves because of their strong connection and trust, but dragons wouldn be uncontrollable.
oh kit…..
I don’t know…he’s starting to grow on me. Another poster (abbott?) said he should do interpretive dance and since than I can’t get that visual out of my head. Maybe he can do an interpretive dance *while* reciting poetry. Don’t ever change kit!
I just want to know how to get a picture to Mr. Harrington or the GoT people. My bully was Jon Snow for Halloween last year (yes, I am one of those people but it all comes from the dollar store), and he makes a great emo bastard warrior.
Any help on this? He, my Brutus, really is cute as Snow and his sister, Jubilee, was Princess White Walker. I may need more help than I know.
I’m not sure about the HBO folks but the official GoT Twitter account is pretty responsive to fans (@GameOfThrones).
I don’t get what his family being aristocratic has to do with valuing education. My grandparents were working class ( because they had no other option when they were kids) and education was the number one priority for their children. As it is for us.
EVERYONE values education, but sadly not everyone has the opportunity to pursue it.
I prefer prose to poetry, and the poetry I like is mostly poetry about social issues. Love poems are not my cup of tea.
Another thought: i’ve always found it a bit odd that Arya is basically now an assassin for the House of Black and White, but I think her purpose is going to be to wipe out the Freys to exact vengeance.
The girl is not ready
I keep picturing her sweeping in at the end like some sort of Deus Ex Machina.
In honor of Kit Harrington says words about poetry, I present a three stanza poem.
An Ode to Hodor
Hodor hodoring.
Hodor. Hodor.
Summer hodors not.
Hodor. Hodor. Honor.
Bran hodoring Hodor.
Hodor. Hodor. Hodor.
Winter is coming.
Hodor. Hodor. Hodor.
Hodor not Jojen.
Hodor. Hodor. Hodor.
Children of the Forest.
Hodor. Hodor. Hodor.
Hodor!
😂😂😂
I actually think his full interviews are rather sweet. If you excerpt him — not so much (true of almost everyone).
I think I know a worthy worg
That’s a cool idea…
Are you all thinking Jon is a Targarean prince? Dany’s bro?
Also, remember when Arya set her wolf free? I hope it comes back!
That is a beautiful grey suit.
DROGON!!!!!!
