Iggy Azalea’s new life, post arena tour cancellation, looks so relaxing. She’s been doing a lot of shopping and gets papped riding horses all the time. Her career continues to go south, and that’s okay for now. Iggy didn’t handle the pressures of stardom very well. I’m doubtful she’ll ever score a song as popular as “Fancy,” but who knows.
Iggy has a new interview with an Aussie morning show, Today, where she talks about being confident in one’s skin. She sounds like she’s full of it (you can see the video here). Iggy pretends like her recent plastic surgery (nose job and chin implant) never happened. She previously spoke out about her cellulite, which is how she approaches things here. People still can’t stop thinking about how different Iggy looks now, so these words ring false:
On her self-esteem: “Some days I want to crawl into a cave because I don’t feel confident at all, and then other days I feel great. I think it’s like that for all human beings, not just young women. I think being confident 100 percent every day is something to aspire to, but I don’t think it’s humanly possible for anybody.”
What is confidence? “Having that honest moment with yourself and … embracing your flaws.”

The show praised Iggy for being candid about her newish bolt ons, as she “totally owned her decision like a boss.” Yeah, I’ll give credit for owning up to her boob job before the media noticed anything was amiss. She still hasn’t admitted to her obvious cosmetic work, which is her prerogative. No one can make her admit getting work done, but she’s telling people to embrace their flaws! Iggy’s only mentioned getting a “laser skin peel thing,” and she’s done far more than visit a spa.
Iggy has been interacting a lot with random fans on Twitter. She revealed that her wedding to Nick Young will be more traditional than her tacky engagement ring. We’ll see.

And why not? If something was making her feel so insecure, why not change it? As long as you don’t go overboard.
But she didn’t say that did she?
Exactly she didn’t own it. Some people do own the fact that they had surgery. Others own the fact that they never want surgery and embrace their flaws. She sounds completely fake here.
Except she wasn’t unattractive to begin with. Like Kim Kardashian, she plastic sugery’d all the character out of her face.
This isn’t just about changing one major flaw that bothers her, this is about getting MANY plastic surgery procedures.
It’s bizarre to me that all these celebs seem to aspire to the same aesthetic. This is why I so much admire women like Tilda, Blanchett, American Ferrera, Mindy Kalig, Viola Davis etc. These women embrace their unconventionally beautiful appearance. They’re real and genuine.
I’d take that over fake-ass Amethyst any day of the week.

While I also find faces with more “character” prettier, I don’t think it’s mine to judge anyone who does sonething to their apperance. Having insecurities is hard, I sure know that.

This woman got so much plastic surgery in the BEGINNING of her career before this that she was unrecognizable and she’s telling others to embrace their flaws?
This is exactly why people don’t like her, everything she says never makes sense in the context of what she does.
The current work as extremely bad as it is is nothing compared to her initial work.

@ side-eye: exactly. I find this extremly arrogant. Of course being yourself both on The inside and outside is The best way to gain confidence. Everyone knows this. These plastic folk seem to underestimate People’s intelligence.
She is completely correct. If you can make peace with and accept your flaws, you will have more confidence. It is just very difficult to do, and she chose to correct her self perceived flaws with plastic surgery.
Arg. Get those toes in and heels down Iggy!
I saw Iggy live in 2012 and she was great and it makes me sad to see her going through these obvious struggles.
She looks super cute in her riding gear.
Well her face looks a little better then that first shocking time. Maybe it settled down. Maybe that make up was weird. She actually looked difefrent ebery time before on carpets. Maybe her face looks like that with different makep up. But her lips were moving weird.
I miss old Iggys face.

She’s not telling anyone to embrace their flaws. She’s saying “that’s what confidence is”.
She’s not even saying SHE’S confident.
Sorry, but Jewel walking around proud of her snaggletooth and refusing to get it fixed is embracing your flaws. Getting new tits because you can’t deal with the ones you were given isn’t. I can’t stand her, can’t wait for her to go away already. I hope she’s saving her money.
