It’s taken me this long to figure out what I was going to say about Beyonce’s Flaunt cover shoot. That’s because… I really didn’t (and don’t) have much to say about it. Beyonce hasn’t done a sit-down interview with any media outlet in more than a year. She’s answered a few questions via email, she posted photos on social media, she’s posed for a lot of photoshoots, but Beyonce is not about “words” nowadays. Many believe this is a great strategy for Beyonce, because in the past, her interviews were never that great to begin with. Anyway, she covers the new issue of Flaunt and there’s no cover interview to go along with it. Bey did deign to do a “word association” thing with Flaunt – go here to see Flaunt’s cover package. Some of the photos are NSFW-ish. And I now believe that she really did get modest bolt-ons.
Meanwhile, Beyonce is also on the cover of this week’s In Touch Weekly. DIVORCE! Except probably not. Beyonce and Jay-Z seemed to weather that storm last year and while they don’t seem “stronger than ever,” they seem solid enough. Would Beyonce ever divorce him? I think she might at some point. But probably not now. Anyway, here are some highlights from In Touch’s story:
Beyonce is tired: She’s tired of Jay’s other women, tired of the charade and tired of performing “Drunk in Love” with him. Seriously, they didn’t perform together during the Made In America concert this weekend.
Love is dead: An insider says, “It’s dead. Bey is sick of keeping up the ruse of happiness, and she’s done.”
Bey’s silence speaks volumes: “It’s like she’s on lockdown and doesn’t want to be asked about her marriage or why she and Jay haven’t had another child after Blue Ivy. But in private, she’s already told friends and family that she’s moving forward with her life. She’ll soon make a public announcement that their marriage is over.”
Rumors of Jay’s infidelities: He might have cheated with Rihanna, Rachel Roy and Rita Ora. Then, “Earlier this summer, Bey found some suspicious texts on Jay’s phone that led her to believe he was having a secret flirtatious communication with one of his [female] proteges… Beyonce’s been on high alert for some time and took her new suspicions to one of Jay Z’s right hand men, who told her she needed to take that up with her husband. To Bey, that was a confirmation of her worst suspicions and fears.”
Jay wanted to go to the VMAs: When he asked Beyonce to go with him this year as a “show of public solidarity,” she turned him down: “She couldn’t figure out why Jay would want to go when they’re at a point where they can barely stand to look at each other. She made a comment about Jay only wanting to go to see Rita Ora and he laughed and twirled his finger in circles around his head, making a sign like Bey was crazy. [She] demanded to see his phone, but he wouldn’t let her. He started screaming back at her, and this went on for 20 minutes until Beyonce pulled herself together and warned Jay that he was messing with the wrong woman. Then she picked up her bag and walked out.”
Figuring out her next move: “She is fully in charge of how the divorce announcement is going to be made… She is going to play the victim card to the hilt.”
There are some other details, about how Beyonce is going to ask for full custody of Blue Ivy, and how Jay has some legal issues pending, one of which might have Jay opening up his financial records. Apparently, he’s been hiding assets from Beyonce for a while. THAT detail is very interesting to me, because I actually believe it. Anyway, Gossip Cop “was told” that a “divorce announcement is NOT imminent.” Who do you believe?

Both of them are going trought some changes and yes..she have decision to make. Jay z and his bad behavior is catching up with him and Bey iwas trying to patch the things up. But for many reasons its not working. They are business partners and Im sure they are trying to work things up and resolve issues to protect assets. I do belive there will be official announcement .

I only heard her speak once, about 11 years ago in a live radio interview with a Detroit station. Granted, she was young, but she had already been very successful in a solo career for a while, and my understanding is that she actually comes from a well to do, educated family. At the time I could not believe how terribly stupid she came across – unable to form sentences, much less speak coherently. All she could mumble was “yeah, yeah” – it was embarrassing to listen.
If that was not an act put on for the rap station, she is really not the brightest bulb and probably relies on Jay and a financial team for the business part of things.
As an aside, when is this stupid trend of scary long sharp nails going to end? I don’t find them attractive at all!
She and the rest of Destiny’s Child were ‘home-schooled’ in the Knowles house since their early Tweens… AND, she never graduated (she made a point of being photographed with a GED book shortly after Blue Ivy was born and spoke of the fact that she wanted to educate herself, as if she was going to take the GED exam). I doubt she ever went through the exam, because she would have gone out of her way to show off the diploma. As far as I can tell, she’s not exactly the brightest bulb in the bunch.
… And I doubt she ever took Prince’s advice about learning how to play an instrument either (during rehearsals for their Grammy duet, she brought up the fact that she was a songwriter and when he called her over to a piano, she admitted she can’t read any music or play an instrument).
Beyonce was going to a dance studio getting ready for her Revel shows, not a GED class. She and Kelly Rowland were home schooled and they DID graduate.

Most definitely. I, too, have always gotten the impression that they both value being the two halves of “Jay and Bey” way too much to throw in the towel. They’ve been selling the fairytale of their love story for way too long, and have invested too much in this business relationship to end it.
I always thought their marriage was a business arraignment first and a personal relationship second. That’s how they’ve always treated it, even with the public announcements, if you will, of affection. The tabloids treat them like a normal couple and they’re really not.
However, if they do split up, it will be for business reasons. If Jay really IS hiding assets from her, well, yeah. They doubtless have an understanding about the whole “cheating” thing. He would have to screw her over business-wise before she’d consider breaking up the company, so to speak. Maybe he’s been up to some shady financial shit and she’s starting to find out.
I don’t know if some of the commenters that have this idea are much younger than me or what but Beyonce is one of those celebs I’ve been following from my teens and it never appeared that way at all. She never wanted to talk about him, they would barely mention each other and you could barely find pics of them being affectionate even though everyone knew they were together. Even on stage they had this kind of distance with each other which imo was a lot more appealing than their current set up.
The Beyonce of the last couple years is a different more desperate/contrived Beyonce though…she looks like she’s having a mid life crisis so who knows what the relationship is now. But I think they were definitely really in love, Beyonce’s not a great actress and she always seemed so damn happy to be around him.
That’s my feeling too, whether they have arrangements or play dumb about what the other is doing when they are apart ( which surprisingly to me doesn’t seem to be excessive either for two working musicians?!) but I too believe they value the brand the status and street cred and legitimacy in each other’s worlds and respective audiences and the air of exclusivity that this union brings them, so I highly doubt that either of them is willing to part with that
I think the no interview thing is cause Beysus sounds real……backwoods middle school simple when she gives any type of lengthy piece, in motion you kind of admire her beauty but quickly feel like.. “girl, WHAT??” and in print she says stuff like “I’m.So.Powerful I don’t even Understand it”

These stories are so stupid. There’s always contradictions. It’s always somebody is done pretending but they are going to continue to stay married for months to perfect the announcement? Not performing Drunk In Love is proof of a break-up? Beyonce has only performed a few times since their tour ended. They have separate careers. It’s stupid to assume they always have to perform together.
Yeah that’s why they’re in Italy now. Why, for some reason, are people so reluctant to believe that two (or one) young, rich and Black couple can be happy together? Same for Jada and Will. It’s like God forbid they actually have a successful marriage.
Actually I think it’s the opposite. I think the gossip about these two couples was ignored for years because they are black and the tabs didn’t think it would sell. Now they see that Beyoncé is someone that sells mag covers and everyone does care and while I don’t think this particular story is true there’s some shadiness behind the scenes.
Now they are in the pantheon of Brad and Angie where they’ll fabricate just to put her face out there on a cover.
You mentioned two black couples those two couples are not the only rich black couple out there, that don’t get main stream tabloids making up BS stories about them.
B and Jay sell magazines so tabloids are going to do anything to have a reason to put them on the cover.

Never have understood this assumption that because you like to act or sing, that means you have to want to do and be good at interviews and public speaking. Some are, some aren’t. If a tour or movie or tv show needs promoting, just let people who are good at it do it. But don’t expect it from everyone.
Sure. But she’s not just a boring interview, it’s gotten embarassing for her many times. In her early solo days she gave some interviews where she couldnt even manage to say one coherent sentence, and all she was being asked about was her album. She made Britney seem eloquent!
Given how hard she works at everything else and how intense she is about crafting a perfect image, I just find it surprising she’s never made any improvements there. It would be one thing if she was not doing press and letting the work speak for itself, but she still wants the covers and the articles.
Interviews are part of the job, at least if you want to be at her level so she has to be good at it. She isn’t a lounge singer in Baton Rouge she is one of if not the biggest name in music she is a brand she has to talk and be interviewed. It’s an essential part of her job whether she likes it or not. So she should pratice to get comfortable with it.
I agree. Beyonce really is awful at speaking in pubic and not eloquent at all. But so what? People act like rethoric is the ultimate form of intelligence sometimes. Most of the time we complain about how stupid some celebs are and how better it would be if they just shut up. Well, Beyonce is aware people dont want to listen to her. So she doesnt speak. I rarely read celebrity interviews anyway because most of them really aren’t that bright and don’t have a whole lot to say. I dislike finding out that a favorite actor or musician is a douche/idiot or really intellectually dull. So few so-called entertainers do good interviews.
Anyway, I think it’s smart of her to just stick to photographs and not do interviews. In the age of Instagram, that’s pretty much all we want anyway. We want the story told through the image.
I agree with this. At least actors talk (perform dialogue) for a living, so many of them are comfortable with speaking in interviews. But music celebs — rock stars, pop stars, and R&B stars — are often very ill-at-ease when they’re just speaking, at least in the public. They might sing and might even be lyricists, but asking them to tell an amusing anecdote on a late-night show is a bridge too far for 95% of them.
I only know about them from celebrity gossip sites. I don’t listen to their music or follow them. All I see is a cold calculating power couple. If they divorce or stay together, it wouldn’t mean much to me
If Beyoncé and JayZ divorce the public will find out the same way they announced her pregnancy. It will be on stage and instead of showing her belly the backdrop will have the words ” I am divorced from JayZ ” in huge letters.

The JayBey brand is in full swing but I roll my eyes every single time I read that their marriage is a pure business venture. Even an elementary pre-white people are now interested knowledge of Jay-Z and Beyonce would tell you that their marriage was predicted to destroy their careers not rocket them to super stardom. They did it anyway – for several reasons but love was certainly one of them. I’m sorry for the cynics out there. But there is this: I really do believe there is a lot of stress in the marriage these days. Heck, considering the fact that 2015 saw Solange and Tina Knowles tying the knot with reportedly devoted, caring partners perhaps Bey wants a taste of truly respectful treatment from her man. Not sure she can ever get that from Jay.
A divorce is the only thing that would make her interesting again. She’ s never been an innovator in her field and I agree with Grace Jones, and I think she is one of the most notorious cut-and-pasters of her era, but when she was in Destiny’s Child, the drama with the ever changing group members was what made their group stand out from the rest of the girl groups at the time, and then her breaking away and going solo with the best album of her solo career (Dangerously in Love) really shot her to stardom. Ever since then, I’ve just seen her become more controlled, contrived, inauthentic and robotic. Maybe with a divorce she would actually show real range and emotion with her music again.
Beyonce is not Jennifer Garner. She would be on vacation with him right now if she was leaving him.

I dont’ think it’s fair to say or even assume that just because someone is uneducated and inarticulate, that they are dumb or stupid. I don’t think Beyonce is dumb. I can’t stand her and I make no bones about that, so I’m not one to normally stick up for her. But there are many people who were not afforded an education but who are just as smart as anybody else. And, the reverse is true. I work with highly educated people who all have at least one major degree, ie. JD, PhD, Masters, etc. Many of them are highly intelligent people but some of them are not. You can be book smart and still not have a clue. You can cite case law, and have absolutely no scruples or common sense. She would do well to take some English and diction classes to address her actual problem – speach and language.
This I don’t get why she would choose not to speak instead of getting tutors to teach her how to speak accurately, It just seems like a cop-out to me.
All these celebrities are on the brink of divorce on a daily basis. All of them are just one affair away from divorcing. I think these people get infatuated and marry, but it’s not deep love so it rarely stands the test of time. Beautiful women are like socks to these rich, powerful rappers.
