It’s been a long week for Justin Bieber, at least that’s his excuse for his latest tantrum. On Thursday, Bieber walked offstage and quit after performing just one song at a concert in Norway. He was scheduled to perform five or six songs for a Norwegian television station in front of an audience of about 950 people. As you can see in the video above, he got visibly upset when some water spilled on the stage. He tried to mop up the mess, but his fans were so excited that they blocked his attempts by trying to touch him. So, Bieber got really angry and walked off stage, saying “I’m done. I’m not doing the show.” He never reappeared.
The weird thing about this video is that the water really wasn’t in a place where Bieber would have injured himself. Even if it was in a bad spot, he could have waved over some security to get the job done. Instead, Swaggy lectured the fans, saying “I’m trying to wipe the floor, give me a second yo,” lost his temper almost immediately afterwards and stalked offstage. Once the media picked up on the story, he posted an explanation to Instagram:
“Sadly it’s Been a rough week for me, long days no sleep, while having to be “on” as they would say for cameras fans etc. In no way did I mean to come across mean, but chose to end the show as the people in the front row would not listen. Hopefully people will understand where I am coming from. I don’t always handle things the right way but I’m human and I’m working on getting better at responding not reacting. Unfortunately people were affected by this as am I. For the people in the back I am so sorry and for anyone I may have disappointed im sorry. Sorry for wasting the tv people’s time I’ll be sure to make it up to you next time on tour.. With love Justin.”
Is this an apology? It sounds like one, but there are disappointed fans who won’t ever have it “made up” to them. He threw a fit, plain and simple. The “no sleep” excuse is a weak one, and I can empathize after not sleeping all week myself. Being sleep deprived is painful and sucks, and sometimes, mistakes are made. But you fix those mistakes instead of storming off and upsetting a bunch of fans. Swaggy needs to show up and do his job, and if he can’t, then he shouldn’t get paid for his job. And he gets paid plenty of money. That spot of water was his excuse to act like a brat.
More Bieber news. On Wednesday, he walked out of a Spanish radio interview. Here is his storm-out on video:
Swaggy got frustrated at being asked questions which he did not enjoy for nine minutes. He was confused, and then he grew visibly huffy. Then one of the hosts asked him to “break the internet” (which is a phrase that should be retired) by making a video with famous Youtubers, presumably off stage. Swaggy then made a little farty noise with his mouth, stood up, and walked right out. He couldn’t cope, and even if he had legitimate objections to making the video, he’s been throwing a lot of attitude lately. It sure sounds like the whiny old Justin Bieber has made a return. The guy needs to take some time off because there’s something major going on with him.

Drugs or his voice is finally changing.
+1 something is definitely going on. He is so mad all the time and looking for any reason to bail. Something changed and he isn’t doing any favors to anyone by freaking out, then apologizing over and over.
I agree. Many of his fans have grown up and moved on to other artists they like. Justin has to keep the fans he has now and attract new ones. Stunts like this will only hurt him.
Maybe he really does not care anymore?
My bet steroids- not to mention I’m sure he does other recreational drugs that aren’t helping. Not everyone who is pumped up on them is huge, there are little guys out there on steroids as well. He very well could be using them to help keep the shape he already has since naturally he’s a small guy yet pretty muscular. They would give him an extra boost.
But that’s just my conspiracy theory! 😝
Agreed. Roid rage.
Yup. It sounds like he’s on something. Like he took too much LSD and he’s just confused all the time. Fried, man.
Yep, I saw his interviews during the EMAs and he seemed off, like he wasn’t fully there, if you know what I mean.
His performance was good though, and he won 5 EMAs, so he still seems to have a big fanbase (at least here in Europe).
Justin Bieber has not changed. Not one whit. His team only managed to get him to take his hi jinx underground at least while he is in the USA.
Maybe he’s exhausted from having to be “on” and lie all the time. He’s not sorry about anything and he’s probably sick of having to pretend he is. He hasn’t changed because I don’t think he ever really truly understood that anything he was doing was wrong or worthy of an apology. He made up a bunch of excuses for his behavior and not one of them was personal responsibility for his behavior. It was a lot of horrible blaming the bad influences (young black men) he was hanging out with at the time.
He also hasn’t had to hustle this hard to sell his music/brand since he was 12-13 years old. Just a year or so ago he could release a track of himself singing the alphabet and make $30 million without leaving his living room. He has to actually work now to get sales. It’s working though and he’s having tremendous success even while barely suppressing his raging douche bag within.
I think his diaper is full that is why he is so cranky.
Okay as a parent/aunt who has attended one of his – awful – concerts with my ten year old niece I would be pissed the hell off. Not ONLY do I not get a refund for these ridiculously expensive tickets but I also have to console a ten year old who for some reason idolizes this walking piece of actual shit.
No one paid for any tickets, all the people there won free tickets through a concert.
Even worse then! you won something so special to you ( if you are 10 ) and he walks out because of some silly girls grabbing his legs?… what a disappointment for those 9000 people. what a twat this kid is!!
No, some tickets were 10 thousand pounds. Production companies and the media paid for those tickets. They lost a lot of money.
People still pay to travel to the show. If I paid for a hotel room and airfare to attend a show and it was canceled like this I’d be outraged. People need to stop supporting the likes of Bieber and Sam Smith who pull these kinds of stunts.
Even if I had won free tickets, I would expect a show. Plus, I agree they weren’t free. Somebody had to pay for them.
He just can’t contain his doochiness
Complaining about rough weeks and no sleep just doesn’t excuse his behavior at all. We all have rough weeks and want to just chuck it all, but there are consequences for those actions.
Why isn’t he sleeping? It’s not like he is working 2 jobs while taking care of 3 toddlers, or going through menopause with night sweats. He could take Biebernaps.
Drugs, partying, and by the time he gets through with this, severe spinal issues.
The way he constantly comports himself with the stooped back, like he is about to take a poop, or has just exited his cave, is surely indicative of future back problems. My heart breaks for the poor wee chap.
Ha – yes, was just coming on to say I am in menopause and awake half the night sweating then freezing lol. Still can’t walk off my job …
He didn’t want to do the gig, looked for an excuse not to and found one. Now a bunch of girls who were photographed in the front row of the audience are getting thousands of very unpleasant messages from fans on social media. Basically “disrespectful wh*re” and “I’ll kill you” in dozens of languages.
Poor girls, that’s really scary for them. Justin is so amazingly cruel to his fans. Young fans are always going to be young fans– I would think he should know this by now. Plus, where was security?
He’s such a douche! and looks like he’s back to walking like a neanderthal and has another doodie in his diaper!
Justin Bieber just need to go away. If you are uncomfortable to ask a question, then I say you are not answering the question. Is that so hard? You are at a radio station, not court.
This is why I lost the love of music, these self-entitled “pop stars” that think that they arare so ever so popular that they feel, they can treat people that way. If I was a fan of JB, which I am not. I would be so done with him, I refuse anything he is wearing, selling or doing to promote himself.
My granddaughter chucked all her Bieber stuff when he was arrested and doing all the drugs and bad things.
Meh, maybe I’m just as huffy but I don’t blame him for this.
I mean it sucks (for him) that while he’s grown up his fanbase has gotten younger and that these girls apparently couldn’t contain their awe at seeing THE real life Justin Bieber up close wiping up a floor (and not peeing on it!) but come on ladies…self control.
Frankly I’d be more embarrassed to be the girls and/or their parents. Who wants to be that thirsty for so little and then ruin the whole reason they’re there? Self control.
Really though? How horrible for him that he has thousands of fans that want to be near him. If those girls annoyed him, fine, drop the rag and get security to clean up the water. That was not a reason to walk out on a concert.
He has gotten older but his fan base hasn’t changed. They have always been young girls. Unfortunately for Bieber those girls grow up and move on and the next crop of young girls take their place.
I disagree. The girls’ behavior was predictable. He let down the entire audience because of the behavior of a few. They were being his fan base. I think he’s a brat, on drugs, needs a break or all of the above. Very unprofessional.
Remember, very recently he was tutoring people on how they should ask him to take a picture with him? He thinks he’s got enough star power to shut fans down. I remember a LONG time ago when Tom Selleck was first on the scene and he lived in Hawaii. A collegue of mine went on vacation there and ran into Selleck and he was more than happy to take pictures with them. Treat people with respect and you get treated with respect in return!
Well, to be fair many of his fans are a crying mess as soon as they even get a glimpse of him. He does not get treated like a person either, just someone who should shut up and smile for every picture no matter what. I bet you Tom Sellec never had to deal with this kind of fans to this extend. So it is no surprise that one is happy and the other one is getting annoyed at some point. I don’t agree with his bratty behavior but those “how to get a picture rules” I can totally understand.
@zip, he should be used to screaming fans. No excuse. And, I’m sure Tom Selleck in the day had his screaming fans also.
I’m sure Tom Selleck would be the first to acknowledge that his situation and that of Biebers are like night and day. Tom wasn’t a teen heart throb so already he’s dealing with a different demographic. He wasn’t living in the age of twitter, where a single sighting means a throng of crazies show up to wherever you are. Everybody today walks around with a camera phone back then it was a happy coincidence if you happened to have a camera on you. Justin handles it terribly but its unfair to pretend that this isn’t literally the worst time to be a pop pinup.
Oh Please, those girls were not doing anything that was terrible. He just got in a huff because they didn’t obey him… simple as that!… and then everyone paid for his moodiness. He could have gotten a security staff member to do that or a roadie.
I don’t know, I just watched the video (no sound though) and don’t see anyone doing anything crazy.
It was a large enough stage, he could have just stayed back a foot or two from the area with the water. It seemed to me like he was just looking for an excuse to have a tantrum.
This kid is lucky to be living the life he is.
This guy is an entitled sack of crap, who – had it not been for Scooter and Usher, would probably be in Canada doing nothing decent with himself. He’d be Maury “am I the baby daddy’ material.
If he doesn’t like it, then get out of the spotlight. There is no reason, at all, why he is still around, other than the fact he wants this career. Supposedly. That or he just wants the money/drugs/girls/shiny stuff that comes with fame. The world and this life owes him nothing. He literally is owed nothing and should be grateful for every second of the positive life he does have. If it’s “so bad”, it’s only because he is making it that way. Everyone needs to stop hand-holding these weak willed idiots. It doesn’t matter if they’re famous or not, being ungrateful is being ungrateful.
Those girls aren’t “thirsty” and ruining it for anyone. They’re excited and happy to be near some moronic boy who they idolise. They’re children. He’s supposed to be an adult, who wants a career, money and fame and to get that, he has to grow up and man up. There is zero difference between Bieber walking off stage with his panties in a twist and Joe Average who works in a warehouse, cracking it because he doesn’t want to be at work anymore and storming off the job. I just can’t believe how this behaviour isn’t discouraged massively, if everyone did that the world would grind to a halt.
Every singer puts up with fans getting on the stage and trying to touch them. They let security deal with it and get on with the show. Why let thousands of people down who’ve paid for tickets, transportation and hotel rooms because a few people don’t behave well?
He’s already worth millions, so if he finds it that stressful, why not retire? This is the inherent privilege of the celebrity culture that wants to profit from the industry but not want to deal with the negative aspects of fame. It’s the same reason I get annoyed when people defend Kristin Stewart when she gets criticized for looking like a grump on the red carpet. While there are certainly boundaries that can be crossed, the majority of the time, we’re just expecting them to DO THEIR JOB.
He’s no Nick Jonas. Some of them just can’t transition into adults.
He hasn’t got what it takes to perform and can’t be bothered, so creates excuses to walk out. He’ll end up like a washed out singer, e.g Leif Garrett. That’s where Beiber is headed.
Yep. He’s really lucky his 15 minutes has stretched this far. Too bad he’s too spoiled to appreciate it.
His career is dwindling and he knows it. Now.
There have been no interviews or quotes from the likes of Usher or his manager, Scooter in a long time.
His replacement is being prepped for release onto the world and maybe he was tipped off.
He has to potential to have a long career. He just had another huge hit. His career is fine but if he keeps pulling stunts like this that might change.
So…how fast his Scooter going to be able to book Justin onto the Ellen show this time?
ha ha exactly. Is the Bieber apology tour already in the works?
I can’t stand that little douche canoe – he needs to go away and just swim in all his money
Sometimes you just have to deal with the things in life that aren’t going your way. This spoiled and petulant little brat obviously doesn’t know what it is to have fortitude and determination.
+1. Live and learn, Justin. Learn, and be a better man.
Sleep deprived and so that means you don’t have to do your job?
Oh. Maybe that’s what I should have told my son who wouldn’t sleep more than 45-90 minutes at a time for the first 10 months of his life. “Sorry little sweetie, mama is sleep deprived so I’m just going to have a little hissy fit and walk away from my job now. Please feed, change, and bath yourself, clean and cook and attend to your every need today!”
What a joke. This kid needs a reality check. He’s needed one for a looooong time.
Surprise! Yet another whiny tantrum from Bieber. Someone should have checked his diaper, maybe he needed a change.
How could anyone tell? His pants always looks like his diaper’s full.
He surrounds himself with people who never say no to him. He pays them not to irritate him. So he has never learned how to have dealings with real actual human beings. You know – the plebeians that actually pay his exorbitant salary.
You are so right!!! how can no one in his team say to him…. ok, relax Dude, we’ll get those girls sorted, now go out there and fulfill you end of the contract.
Why is he sleep deprived? It isn’t like he is working a night job and then getting up to do normal things that can only be done in the day time. Seems like he has a lot of down time and therefore there should be able to sleep at some point. Not an excuse.
Drugs.
I would think tours are pretty exhausting with the constant travel, and the pre-performance practices probably suck up just as many hours of the day as a regular job. This being said, being tired is not an excuse for crappy behavior. At the least, take responsibility and apologize for disappointing people.
A regular job and an average salary can cure this. When your need to wake up early everyday and take a croweded train to get to your work place, you learn how to cope with unpleasant, unexpected stuff.
At least his handlers had him write a real response, however lame. Bet this was considered a punishment and he couldn’t go play until it was done.
And nice balls, Mtv. Looks like you gave him four. Two to make up for the ones he’s missing and an extra set that he’ll trade for a night’s worth of heroin when he’s flat broke and needs his next fix.
Did he write it or did his PR person write it?
Why is this skidmark on humanity still relevant?
The radio interview doesn’t look like a tantrum to me…they said they wanted to break the Internet, and he said “ok let’s do it,” and then walked out. It seems like that was his idea of how to break the Internet, no? Like, that will get them their views.
Haha, that’s what I thought, too! 😀
While I agree that his walk-out garnered them more views than whatever their idea was, and that his behavior wasn’t exactly a tantrum, in the end it comes down to the same sad facts. He will die lonely and pitiful if he doesn’t take a turn somewhere. I wonder if he ever looks back at the early videos of himself, when he was just hopeful and talented boy, and wonder where that little lost soul went. Its kind of sad, in a way.
Justin is still very young and immature. He already had a career and peaked. He will be another Leif Garrett some day soon. The industry discards these broken people when they can no longer pull in the big bucks.
It can take a while to learn how to manage your anger and the learning curve can be ugly and humiliating. In fairness, I think most people here have had a few more years than Justin to get that nailed down. I also think his huge paycheck clouds the issue. No matter the job there are days when you will never be paid enough to put up with the crap you put up with. It’s just growing pains. He needs to find a better way to handle his anger and stress and the fans need to keep in mind that a person is on stage, not some performing monkey that they can act in any which way with.
I agree, and I’m frankly astounded at the attitude people have about famous people. For some reason our culture is obsessed with fame, but being famous actually kind of sucks. Imagine everywhere you go everyone wants a piece of you. That would wear down the best of us. Add in the fact that he became famous as a teen, was handed a ton of money and wow, gosh, started acting like it. Is anyone surprised? He really seems like he needs time off and a better strategy for handling the pressure. You can’t “turn off” fame, and it seems like he’s really struggling with that.
He’s been in this business 5 years. Someone, somewhere along the line should be teaching him how to do these things. Yes, it was mostly as a teenager, but maybe someone should have been guiding him along the way. He’s 21 now and needs to start learning some responsibility. Maybe the solution is to fire everyone and find someone who is going to put it all in perspective for him.
Most people who lose their temper or walk off the job after a bad day get fired. For famous people, there aren’t real consequences, which is why so many of them are adult children.
+ 1 on this thread. Thanks, Tulip! Good points, celebitches.
I was just listening to an interview on the radio with the mum of someone at the concert. The girl had won a competition here in Finland and then travelled all the way to Norway to see it and he walked off.
It really is unforgivable behaviour, some of these fans cover huge distances at great expense to see their favourite acts.
I’ve taken my daughter to Sweden to see a boyband, with flights and hotel it’s a huge investment.
The amount of money he is being paid to spend 90 minutes on stage he should really be making it a worthwhile event.
The ‘sorry tour’ is obviously only something his handlers have organised and something that he himself is not invested in.
I’m going to quote some lyrics from a real musician, Ani Difranco, because this song Pixie went through my head reading this:
“Maybe you don’t like your job, maybe you didn’t get enough sleep, nobody likes their job, nobody got enough sleep, maybe you just has the worst day of your life, but there’s no escape there’s no excuse so suck up and be nice….”
Probably butchered the lyrics, but they are too perfect not to quote. And by the way this goes to you too Eisenberg.
Anytime he acts like a jackass, he excuse is that “he’s human.” He’s giving humans a bad name. So what kind of person behaves better? A non-human?
Try being a medical Resident and then come back to me and tell me about no sleep. I didn’t know what sleep was for the 5 years of my FP/IM – Psych dual residency.
He’s nothing more than an entitled little sizzurp-slurping, dope-smoking perennial adolescent who hasn’t learned the first thing about responsibility. All of us have had to do our jobs under less than perfect conditions. I had my boss emailing me with work-related issues while I sat by my mother’s death-bed. I’ve had to work many long days with little sleep when I put on conferences.
It’s called being a mature, responsible adult Justin, learn this you arrogant little twat.
If this new album is trying to convince us he’s in the “man” stage of his career, he’s got a way to go.
because his new song has had a little success, he thinks he’s done now. ugh. I think, he has a lot of his deadbeat selfish father in him.
good old article thing from gawker last year: http://defamer.gawker.com/dont-hate-justin-bieber-hate-his-father-1666203482
Arrogant entitled dickhead.
