Jaimie Alexander is the lead in the new, hit NBC show Blindspot. I haven’t watched it, but I’ve heard that it’s a pretty decent one-hour network action/drama. I honestly don’t know much about Jaimie other than she was Peter Facinelli’s jumpoff following his divorce from Jennie Garth, and that Facinelli and Alexander are engaged now. I also know that I always confuse Jaimie with that other lanky brunette in the Marvel franchise, Cobie Smulders (I’m an idiot for confusing them, I know). Anyway, I can now add one more gossip item to my files on Jaimie: Page Six’s sources claim she’s a nightmare on Blindspot and producers have been firing people right and left to make her happy.
Complaints by Jaimie Alexander, star of NBC’s hit series “Blindspot,” have allegedly led to several people being fired from its Brooklyn set. A source told me, “She’s a perfectionist who complains constantly, and is such a nightmare that the producers will do almost anything to stop the torture.”
A spokeswoman for Warner Bros., which produces the show, told me, “Three people were let go from the production recently. This has nothing to do with any show talent and is a production/studio decision.”
Alexander’s spokesman said, “I’ve never heard of a cast member being able to decide who is on the set. She’s not even first on the call list.”
Australian actor Sullivan Stapleton — whose character’s name, Kurt Weller, is inked on Alexander’s back — has top billing. Nonetheless, it’s Alexander who is featured most prominently in promotion for the show. The “Thor” actress plays a woman who wakes up naked in Times Square with no memory of how she got there, but has mysterious tattoos that might provide some answers.
Alexander might be cranky because it takes 7 ½ hours for makeup artists to apply her tattoos.
“We have a great time,” she recently told Zap2it. “We have a great crew . . . and we listen to Beatles on Pandora. We have good coffee and good conversation, and the hours fly by.”
Thick-skinned job applicants take note. “Blindspot” — the No. 1 new fall show among adults 18 to 49 — was just renewed for a second season.
Yikes, if I had to come into work seven hours early so that all of my fake tattoos had to applied for my job, I would have major ‘tude too. While I think it’s more than possible that the recent firings had little to nothing to do with Jaimie, I also think that statement from her rep is ridiculous. “I’ve never heard of a cast member being able to decide who is on the set.” O RLY? You’ve NEVER heard of an actor or actress pulling rank and ordering some peasant out of their sight? NEVER? You’ve never seen an actor/actress get some peon fired? Her rep would probably be equally amazed to hear that sometimes costars sleep together. “Two attractive people on the set for long hours and they have an affair? That’s never happened before,” her rep told me.

I have not watched the show but the promos show that she is nude. If she has nude scenes and wants a close set for them, that is not the request of someone being difficult.
I can see a request like that turn into the story that was printed by Page Six.
There’s no nudity really. In the first episode they allude to photos of her entire body being taken by the FBI, and in later episodes they work from close ups.
I hope it’s not true because I love her and the show. Glad to hear it has already been renewed!
If it’s true you’re going to stop watching?
I would not. I adore Stapleton and they have a great dynamic on the show. I would hope that the team around her would exert some control and in any case, to a certain extent her rep is right – she is not such a high powered star that the network or studio would be bowing down to her. This is not JLaw or ScarJo (not suggesting they are divas). I think the whole story or most of it is made up, but I might be wrong.
However, it’s different if a company uses child labor (looking at you GAP, Nike etc) or a CEO comes up with idiotic statements about only wanting “thin” customers (Abercrombie, Lululemon) or a company uses ingredients that are known carcinogenics in their so called beauty and health products (looking at every conventional brand out there). Then I totally boycott them. Sometimes that’s hard but you make choices, and if that means no cheap TP and crackers from Walmart, fine. Sorry, I digressed:-)
I like the show, but she’s the worst part of it. Wooden, one dimensional.
i have to disagree – I find the Weller character very boring, but she’s great
I liked the premise, but lost interest after a few episodes after each one had a long, drawn out fist fight. Too much fighting. And plots wrapped up too neatly.
I think she should get top billing, unless the show is really about that Kurt guy and he gets more lines, I am surprised she is not the top-billed.
He’s got a pretty hefty resume, including being one the leads on Strikeback- a VERY cool guilty pleasure series that just wrapped on Cinemax. If you can judge by the little behind the scenes interviews they would show at the end of each episode, he seems very chill, hard working (Strikeback had tons of fight scenes, spectacular stunts, etc.), and fun/jokey. I don’t know much about her, but she does come off as stiff, but her character has amnesia, so who knows. I am watching for him and Marianne Baptiste.
God I hated his character on strikeback, just an overly aggressive horndog who rated a lay over his own crew’s safety. Plus he wasn’t even a good lay! His sex scenes lasted about 15 seconds with no foreplay.
I’m surprised she’s not #1 on the call sheet to be honest. It feels like NBC is pushing that she’s the main character and all of the advertising and promotion features her prominently.
I really only keep watching because I think Sullivan Stapleton (Kurt) is smokin’ hot (Strikeback was a guilty pleasure for me too) and it’s fun to see a woman kick ass alongside the guys. Her acting won’t win any awards, but it doesn’t really need to in order to sell the story.
If anything, she and Sully should share top billing – once you strip away all the gimmicks (her tattoos and amnesia) and showy stunts, it’s a buddy cop drama. Two odd-couple partners are solving crimes each week – there’s a tough but fair commanding officer who may have dark secrets of her own, a genius tech wizard hacking into databases, and a few supporting characters that do the legwork and offer some small comic relief. If you’ve seen any of the NCIS’s, Castle, Limitless or The Blacklist then nothing here covers new ground.
Conspiracy theory: could we be seeing some gamesmanship here? The fact that they mention that someone else is #1 on the call sheet makes me wonder if he or his people are the ones talking, because Jaimie is indeed featured so heavily
That show won’t make it to season 2. I watched 3 episodes and then got turned off. It’s not a good show to me.
It’s already been renewed for a second season. And it grew on me after a few episodes.
It’s already been renewed for a second season.
Who is she in the Marvel franchise? I’ve seen about every Marvel movie there is, several times (the perils of having a 5 year old nephew) and I can’t recall her face at all.
Show sounds like another boring American autopsy farce, so can’t say I’ve watched it, but it sounds like these tattoos that take 7+ hours to apply must be integral to the plot line, so surely she must have known this would come with the job when she took the part? Can’t say I have much sympathy for her, in that case.
She is Sif in Thor
She’s Sif.
She may be icy and a control freak and difficult to work with, but she is gorgeous. Jennie Garth must hate her. I would, if this were my ex’s jump off.
I know nothing about her but I agree she is gorgeous.
Only one story like this, I don’t believe it. All it takes is one person who felt like she looked at them the wrong way to call in a tip. If more reports of PITA behavior come in, I’ll buy it.
I’ve seen the first group of episodes, and am not impressed. It was an interesting idea, but by the end of the pilot was already yet another crime procedural. Plus they had the same fight about her involvement in every episode. “Stay in the car, Jane!” Jane gets out of the car and saves the day. Repeat.
How is Weller top billed over her though? He’s like a block of wood. Actually none of the performances have really impressed me. I’m probably about done watching it.
I tried to watch this show and gave it a chance for the first few episodes. Unfortunately, nobody was charming enough to keep me interested. I find NBC’s The Player to be more watchable.
That is a better show hands down.
I actually really like the show. That said, I admit that I was hoping that it would bomb so that I could hold out hope for Lady Sif to become a regular on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 🙂
Meh. I’m surprised she’s still with Facinelli. Her star is clearly rising, his has had its day – what’s he done lately?
If she’s a bitchy as they say its a matter of time before she moves up and on. It’s Hollywood after all. This is one engagement that won’t end in marriage.
This behavior is how you ruin your career after one successful drama treatment on network television. SMH.
Very pretty woman but as dull as dishwater in her interviews. She’s so fit. Impressed with her physique!
If she becomes too difficult they can always kill her off and simply have a 2nd new inked lady appear in Times Square. I personally don’t find her all that riviting as an actress so I wouldn’t really miss her.
She is gorgeous. That last picture with the white dress – WOW! Kate Middleton would look good with that haircut!
