At last night’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens world premiere in LA, there was some cosplay and some theme-dressing on the red carpet. I have to think that’s what Jaime King was trying to do – theme-dressing. To Jaime, this Monse dress looked sort of Star Wars-y and intergalactic. Is it though? Or is it just sort of fug? If you make her skin green, I could see her as a cigarette girl at the Cantina.
Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello walked their first red carpet at a married couple for this premiere. I have to wonder… which one of them is into Star Wars? Sofia is a big deal to Disney/ABC, so maybe she was required to come out for a Disney property. Or maybe Joe is a secret Star Wars geek, like many men of his generation. In any case, they thankfully didn’t theme-dress.
Janelle Monae looks DIFFERENT, right? Something with her eyes, I believe. Maybe it’s just makeup and styling. Maybe she was trying to look sort of weird and unusual, but I could swear that she looks a bit tweaked too. Her Star Wars-themed dress is Erevos Aether. It’s okay.
Am I alone in sort of loving Karrueche Tran’s look here? I think she’s really pretty anyway, but I love her Star Wars-themed hair and I love the snazzy white suit. She looks great.

I don’t understand the buttons on Jamie King’s train? Is it meant to be sleeves??? Otherwise, I think they all look great. I would have liked better angles of Janelle’s dress – looks interesting but I can’t see it properly.

Janelle wins this one. Although the bodice is obviously too big on her as you can see the lining. And who lined that thing in white?! But otherwise it’s amazing.
I am sorry, I hated every single look here. Jaime looks like she is wearing the sheets with which she made her escape from the asylum. (I know, not a PC comment, but doesn’t that look like a stretched out suit they put on you just before they lock you up in a padded cell??)
And Sofia at least is wearing a shorter dress, although once again she is so stuffed in it one wonders how she sits or breathes. the rest are just… weird.

I think those are just unflattering pictures of Janelle. As for Jaime, well… bless her heart.
In addition, I can’t remember ever seeing Janelle with a nude lip. I’m used to her red lip colour dividing attention between her mouth and her eyes, but with her makeup here, the attention is solely on her eyes, especially because even her brows are lighter.

I think Karrueche looks great – the whole look would be a home run for me if she’d just put a damn shirt on!! The ‘wide-open-to-my-navel-almost-flashing-the-girls’ gives it a totally trashy vibe in my opinion, and I’m far from a prude but I really think it would have looked better with a sheer cami or maybe even a funky bandeau underneath. I’m so tired of all these girls being half a millimeter away from a wardrobe malfunction!!
P.S. – I have a cold and I’m grumpy today so maybe that’s why this bugged me so much… :/
Jamie looks as if she’s trying really hard to hold the dress and bow or train or pillow or whatever that is in place. It never works when you’re fussing with your clothes that way.

I have to say at any other event I’d probably hate Karreuche’s outfit but here for this? Beautiful. THIS is why celebs need to save their dramatic looks for truly unique events because the right event can just make an outfit work.
Unfortunately it did not work for Jaime, maybe if the dress didn’t seem to fit so poorly and had some shape.
