We’re really tired and we’re going to be saving some of the Oscar-party coverage for tomorrow, because photos are still coming in, etc. So enjoy this, the tailend of today’s Oscar and Oscar-party coverage. While Jennifer Lawrence made a point of not doing much press (or any press?) on the red carpet of the Oscars, she was totally up for the post-Oscar parties. J-Law changed out of her Dior gown into this Alexander Wang two-piece dress for the Vanity Fair party. Tell me the truth: does this surprise you? Isn’t this the exact kind of ensemble you would have expected on Taylor Swift? Tay-Tay’s been going through a bandeau-top phase, and I guess Taylor finally made it happen. I actually think this is completely terrible on J-Law. It looks dated and sloppy. It’s unflattering. It’s not properly tailored. Just bad, bad, bad.
And here’s Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake. I wondered why Biel was at the Spirit Awards over the weekend, but I guess she’s just doing the party circuit this month. Sure. Jessica’s dress is Zuhair Murad and it is matronly.

It looks like something she borrowed from Taylor Swift.
My mind went there also. But it’s a fun don’t take me too serious look.
Taylor can carry it off; she can’t.
Neither of them can carry it off.
Why? I might be jumping to conclusions, but it seems like the only reason someone might say that is because swift is below a size zero, which is the supposed standard we’re all supposed to strive for, apparently. (???) both women are gorgeous, confident, and successful (though only one of them has legit talent, imp. ;)). There is no such thing as “the right body type” to wear what you’d like. Again, I’m assuming I know what you meant and I could be wrong.

It’s not the worst thing, in fact I still wonder why is she with Dior when they keep giving her flaccid fussy things, whereas this is more flattering to her overall vibe and physique

I don’t hate Jessica’s dress, but I don’t really like it either. I’m not sure how I feel. However there is something about it that’s throwing off a Golden Girls chic vibe. Maybe it’s the sequins?
I’m on the fence too. There are women that could make that dress look sexy. I think her hair is wrong for it. And the shoes are too heavy. And it needed something along the waist; maybe a pin or something on the side where the slit is.. not sure.. but it looks incomplete and thrown together..
JLaw’s outfit looks dated and just not good. The bust area makes her looks saggy. just not a good look. I would have loved her in a Jump suit or something like that
I kind of like Biel’s dress – maybe it’s the color that I like? And the cut is Golden Girls? Anyway Jessica Biel is so beautiful I just want to throw a shoe at her.
It’s boring, boring, boring. She has one of the best bodies in Hollywood and has been a fashion mess since she got knocked up. Maybe her focus has changed and she just doesn’t give a rat’s ass anymore about looks.
I don’t hate it actually.
Love the hair and makeup but arriving arm in arm with David O’Russell is enough to put me off anyone.
Why is Biel?
I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I think she looks awesome. I’m not seeing the “not flattering” comment. She looks like a supermodel to me and I usually think she’s kind of blah.
Yep. I think her body looks banging and don’t see anything wrong with the whole get up.
I think she looks amazing, too. It’s not my favorite look but she pulls it off.
It is not amazing but she looks good and it is an interesting look, I do not see dated&tragic anywhere.
Well this explains why they closed the Alexander Wang store for her. Which, well played. They probably got thousands and thousands of dollars of free press out of that move alone, not to mention the exposure of having J Law wear an AW outfit here.
I never thought of that – if a celebrity was getting a red carpet outfit fitted or something, closing the store makes some sense so no one ruins the surprise.
Not to mention that the closing itself was noteworthy – they got a ton of gossip mileage just about J Law closing the store, probably worth way more than they would have sold in that single hour.
The shoe game this year has been awful. Just Awful.
All I have to say is Justin Timberlake has scary psycho unblinking eyes. This is a repeat joke from Lewis Black’s stand up, but whenever I see JT all I think of is Lewis Black screaming ” SOMEONE HAS TO KEEP THEIR EYE ON THAT FU**ER!”
That outfit JLaw is wearing looks uncomfortable and the first photo seems to be taken with a strange angle because it managed to make her look short and somewhat chubby around the hips and she is neither.
A good design should be flattering and comfortable to wear (in my book).
Honestly, I kinda like JLaw’s sort-of dress (and realize that I’m probably in the minority). I just wish she’d pull the top up an inch or two; IMO it looks like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen.
Yeah, it’s the top that I thinks looked positioned strangely.
She’s tall, isn’t she? Something about the way the outfit has been put on her makes her look shorter than she is.
It looks great to me – she has the figure to pull it off, which this type of outfit requires ( and diesn’the always get – see Taylor).

To me, it looks like something a C lister would wear in hopes of getting attention. I like JLaw and I’ve really liked a lot of her previous post-Oscar party dresses, but this one seems like a miss. And the top is sitting too low.

My understanding from an interview from Spike Lee’s wife that these parties are also networking opportunities so maybe Jessica is looking for a job?

Sure, that outfit is a bit tacky and last year. But J-Law looks very hot in it, and it’s a great party dress. She has most of her career in front of her, and can worry about being on trend later. Right now, she’s young, rich and single, with a great body: if I were her, I’d be wearing this sort of thing way more than she does.
Too much skin, tacky. shoes look like dance store shoes and the top could fit much better anyways

I always wonder how the celebrities actually enjoy the parties wearing these elaborate gowns? How can they walk around or dance or use the loo?
If they had a drink too many, so many of these dresses would be prime for ripping accidentally. I wonder if you rip a borrowed dress if you get in big trouble?
The point of the dress is to show her banging bod and this definitely does it.
I actually really like this look on Jlaw. I think its better than her oscar dress. And I like Jessica’s dress as well. But I think she needed some sort of support under it.
Jennifer Lawrence looks like the big slob she quite possibly is (judging from her own confessions about her public restroom habits). Jessica Biel always looks sad to me. That outfit makes her look grandmotherish. She’s wasting her killer bod on those outfits and on that cheater.

So glad to see Jen felt well enough to go to the after-parties after being late for the Oscars red carpet because she “wasn’t feeling well.” I get the feeling that both her not feeling well and making it to party later have a lot to do with alcohol consumption.
That is truly fugly. It looks like her skirt split and her girdle is showing and the bra doesn’t fit well.
