Star Magazine’s cover story this week is devoted to Tori Spelling and her alleged eating disorder. This is the second cover story they’ve done about Tori’s dramatic weight loss, but this time Star is claiming that Tori’s friends and family want her to seek professional help for anorexia. Candy Spelling has gotten involved, and has offered to pay for whatever treatment Tori needs.
Tori is looking rough – very thin, and painfully emaciated. Tori has denied any problems, saying in a statement last week: “Oh my God, I’m not anorexic… I acknowledge that I look thin in photos. I get it… Obviously I don’t want to lose any more weight… But people haven’t seen me not pregnant in two and a half years. I’m eating healthy, I just have a crazy lifestyle.”
Tori Spelling’s weight continues to plunge dramatically, yet she’s still not satisfied with her look.
The 90210 icon has shrunk to a skeletal 95 lbs, say experts — and those close to her are begging her to get help!
Even her estranged mother, Candy Spelling, thinks Tori is anorexic and is desperate to bury the hatchet in order to help. She has made it clear that money is no object, and she’ll pay to send Tori to a top treatment facility, a family source tells Star.
“Candy is a nervous wreck over Tori. She thinks she is really troubled and anorexic. In all the years I’ve known Tori, this is the worst I have ever seen her.”
Tori — whose jean size has shrunk to a shocking 00 — admits that her diet changed drastically after her daughter was born in June 2008. “I just changed the way that I ate after I had Stella,” says Tori, who also has a 2-year-old son, Liam, with husband Dean McDermott.
The busy mom and author of Mommywood denies she has an eating disorder, but still admits that her meals often consist of scraps from her children’s leftovers. In one interview she said that could mean eating as little as a piece of hot dog, a broccoli floret and a single french fry — a scant 130 calories!
“Everybody is trying to figure out how to convince Tori she needs help,” another insider tells Star.

I actually hate doing these “she’s so thin” or “she’s gained so much weight” stories, because I honestly don’t want to part of the system that judges a woman by her weight. I’m one of those women whose weight goes up and down with stress and time issues, and I see that issue with many celebrity women. I tend to think Tori probably does have some eating disorder issues, but I’m also perfectly willing to accept that her body’s gone through hell with two babies, and she’s really busy and stressed out. If she really does have a problem, she’s an adult woman with people around her who care about her. She’ll get back on track, I hope.
Here are Tori and Dean arriving at LAX on Sunday. Images thanks to BauerGriffinOnline.
Growing up in Hollywood with a mother like Candy, does that to you. Tory get help.
Her body’s gone through hell with two babies? Having two babies is such a normal occurrence, that seems like a strange excuse. Did she have some kind of weird pregnancy/birth experience? I had a baby last year and honestly, I don’t think it changed my body much at all. All the talk about how having babies torques your body had me freaked out while I was pregs but now it just seems like hype, having recently been through it. Am I just lucky?
Trillion: I totally agree. I had two babies in two years (Britney style), and my body didn’t change, either. Aside from the extra insulation, of course, but I’m working on that, lol. The “hell” theory confounds me, too. Tori is dangerously thin because she lives in Hollywood. That’s what most of the women who live in that bizarro universe look like.
I usually ignore these ‘too thin’ stories too, but she needs help. I don’t know anything about anorexia but it would seem because of her age, giving birth twice and having many cosmetic surgery procedures would put her at a higher risk for heart attack or any of the other various ailments that come with the disease. I think if she doesn’t get help, she’s going to die.
Sorry if I sound doom laden, but when I look at her pictures lately, that’s what I think.
Trillion & Codzilla – This is why I hate doing these “too thin” stories! My point was that *some* women have lots of health/weight problems after a pregnancy or multiple pregnancies. Just because you didn’t have issues, doesn’t mean other people don’t. I don’t know if Tori is having post-partum problems, but it could be one of many explanations.
Kaiser: I hear what you’re saying, but I still think her skeletal frame is more likely a result of her environment, not the pregnancies.
Codzilla – Yeah, I think it probably is an eating disorder… but her weight loss is so dramatic, I also kind of figure her metabolism is shot to hell.
She was tiny BEFORE the two babies, and yes having them so close together is really draining on your body.
IMO, Kaiser has a very valid point. While some women can deliver two babies back to back with very few issues, it’s not medically advised and can be detriemental to the mother.
Tori’s life is too chaotic and coupled with two small children to care for is obviously wearing her out. I’m sure all the snarky comments left on this and other web sites about her looks/weight don’t help the situation much.
*I know the site is called Celebitchy, and some people really take the title to the extreme….especially if it’s a celeb they loathe as in Tori’s case.
I don’t know – remember on 90210 early days – she was always very, very thin. Then very, very thin with big, round implants. Now that the baby weight has come off, her body is thin again but the natural course of aging makes everything look more sinewy and pronounced. It’s not like she was ever a rotund person or even an average size person, her body type is like her father’s. He always looked like he needed a good meal. She should make sure she’s eating healthy of course but if you take everything in context her size should’t be surprising.
Also, am I the only person who likes Dean? On the show they seemed very well-paired off. She’s manic, he’s more calming and puts up with her craziness. He also seemed hardworking and caring.
She has always been incredibly thin and generally quite tiny framed – I don’t think she looks well but then I don’t think she’s looked very healthy on either side of her pregnancies – she looked really healthy when she was pregnant both times.
Oh Tori!… such a beautiful girl! you looked amazing in 90210… thin but not too thin! I vote just put on a little weight and you should look amazing!
The 90210 icon … ICON??? Really?? Since when?
Family needs therapy … body dysmorphic disorder usually begins with mom’s obsession with daughter’s weight.
I refuse to purchase and read any books written by these two, (mother and daughter). Suggestion: Get into the solution, write a book togehter and help others through your healing process.
ohh…tori,
this is such a ‘donna’ thing to do to yourself.
get help, missy.
your babies needs you.
Damn ! Man-face !!
i’m sick of this spoiled, no-talent hot mess blaming her mother for everything that has gone wrong in her life. nobody’s family is perfect, but because of her father’s wealth she had chances to go to any college, travel anyhwere, do anything with her life and instead she is just another LA blonde twit with a bad boob job. if her last name wasn’t spelling she’d be working in a strip club.
Well, I had a baby last year and it changed my body. I’m the same weight, I just have more body fat now. So I look bigger than I did. I’m not sure what’s up with Tori but it is kind of scary.
I agree with smith and Zoe I think shes just thin framed, although she does NOT look healthy. The girl needs to slow her lifestyle down and eat more.
Fish head, fish head, roly-poly fish head
Fish heads, fish heads, eat them up, yum!
This whole Tori thing smells like and episode of “Dirt!”
Agreed that she and LiLo should be photo/oged/shopped eating Big Macs together, but gimme a break, the sympathy vote, doesn’t that undermine her ‘raw’ efforts to be as ‘legit’ as shes been hocking lately?
She’s lookin’ more and more tranny every day….
