We used to sew panels like that into our tapered jeans in the 90s to make them into flared/bootcut. Agree that he can wear whatever the hell he wants because he’s RDJ.

Yep. I put a yellow inset like that into my jeans, with an appliqué smiley face on it. What a shame there was no such thing as a selfie….but RDJ still wears it well.
