Chris Hemsworth adorably bonds with his fellow administrative professionals

Premiere Of Universal Pictures' "The Huntsman: Winter's War"

I know it’s belated, but happy administrative professionals day! I could never express my appreciation for all that you hard working folks do quite as adequately as Ellen DeGeneres did on Wednesday’s episode of Ellen, so I’m not even going to give it a go.

Apparently, one of the admins on the Warner Brothers lot is quite a fan of the Thor star (currently in The Huntsman: Winter’s War). Ellen, no stranger to the hidden camera gag, hooked the lucky lady up with the object of her cubicle dreams and the results were highly amusing. Check out the video below and enjoy the Edible Arrangement someone in your office got:

Chris, who plays the hunky secretary to the ladies of the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, was awesome during this prank, don’t you think? I mean, look at how he expertly maneuvered around not only avoiding a naked massage, but an admin/Ellen threesome. What a great actor! And, if any of Ellen’s producers happen to read this, I’d love for Jon Hamm to stop by my office. Just saying.

Although the hunky Aussie has a prominent role in one of the most anticipated movies of the summer, he has jokingly made reference to the lack of Thor in the upcoming Avengers spin-off Captain America: Civil War. In a video on Walt Disney Studio’s Facebook page, the actor seemingly takes a moment out of his “workout” to address his character’s absence from the upcoming flick. He jokes, “You know it’s funny. Everybody keeps asking me: Are you Team Cap? Are you Team Iron Man? Who cares? I mean, where was the invite for me and Hulk? Just leave the two strongest, biggest Avengers out of this one, did you?”

Is it just me, or does anyone else think the Ghostbusters reboot may fare better than Civil War? I love me some Robert Downey Jr., but Chris is making me miss Thor. I think Chris will do just fine in Ghostbusters though, he’s gotten nothing but chuckles from the audiences I’ve sat through the trailer with. If nothing else, he certainly increased the number of resumes going into Warner Brothers for administrative staff!

Chris is definitely an adorable charmer, but he REALLY needs to start picking better roles.

    • Mia4s says:

This was very cute. I just wish the Ghostbusters remake didn’t look so awful. It’s honestly heartbreaking.

  2. paolanqar says:

    I love him.
I don’t care for his wife but I truly love him.

I really like chris hemsworth and it makes me sad that his movies are all kind of flops. I love thor, and I think he has been funny in things (SNL, Vacation, the clip above), and I wish he could find that hit. I think he or his people have bad judgment. I mean, really, who thought that the seafaring or race car (but not nascar) movies would appeal to mass audiences? (or is formula one pretty big? I’m not into racing at all, but I live in the mid atlantic, and hear and see references to nascar quite frequently, but never formula one unless I am reading gossip about the eccleston sisters, which hasn’t happened in while)

    I also think he’s very attractive 🙂

    • SKF says:

NASCAR is big in the U.S., Formula One is big everywhere else in the world. It is a huge global “sport” worth billions. He was fantastic in that movie, I think it was a great role that showed some range.

      • Snazzy says:

Yes! I really liked him in Rush – I thought he did a great job in that film. I know lots of people who saw that film just because it was about Formula 1, and they didn’t care at all about the actors. So there is a market for it.

      • lilacflowers says:

I thought Rush was a really good film and he did a good job. Daniel Bruhl was fantastic.

      • Josefina says:

Rush was a super fun movie. Of all his flop films, that’s the only one that’s actually good. He was charming in the role (which was hard since he was a douche) and Daniel Bruhl was brilliant as always. Shame it flopped. I rarely like sports movies as much as I liked that one.

      • V4Real says:

The film was great, plus you got to see his fantastic ass. I thought it would have made more bank. Chris acting was really good.

    • Ji-yun says:

I think he has a real flair for the comedic, but keeps on getting cast in those stereotypical “leading man” roles. He’s not a leading man, imho, even if he has that unthreateningly pretty/ brooding thing going on that Hollywood loves up on the screen and keeps on betting the big bucks on.

  4. Sixer says:

I don’t even know what an administrative professional is, let alone that they have a day!

    • Marty says:

      It’s a progressive term for a secretary.

    • lilacflowers says:

Back in the 70s, the US abandoned the terms “secretary” and “clerical worker” for “administrative assistant”. Recently, it seems to have undergone a change to “administrative professional.”

    • V4Real says:

It seems more PC. You know, instead of saying stewardess, you now say flight attendant.

    • Sixer says:

      Thank you, my ladies!

Here in the UK, it is Ed Balls Day. This is where we mock a politician. Much more fun, sorry administrative professionals!

    • NUTBALLS says:

Well, there you are, Sixer. I was talking to you on Monday and you went AWOL! Check the DUC post on that day if you get a chance…

      • Sixer says:

Sorry! Some higher-up or other changed a load of publication dates and messed up all my deadlines. 35 hours work in 3 days and a couple of hours off today. I’ll try to get there later, darling, promise.

      • NUTBALLS says:

You poor thing. I hope you plow through it all quickly and enjoy a strong drink afterwards!

  5. Meee4 says:

I think he would really do well in an irreverent cable comedy series. Like on HBO or Showtime. Thinks he got great natural timing for it. Look how many “movie” actors have had better success on tv.

    • Marty says:

I think he should would find more success on TV as well. There are many good roles in television now.

  6. Josefina says:

He’s great, he just has awful, AWFUL eye for scripts. If you watch his floppy films, you’ll notice he really isn’t the problem. A phenomenal actor he’s not, but he really is charming.

  7. lilacflowers says:

    Chris is a good sport.

  8. MexicanMonkey says:

Yeah, no. Ghostbusters won’t fare better than Civil War. And however good the movie does I don’t think Chris will get any of the credit (Nor should he).

I just hope the next Thor fares better. I don’t think Marvel actually knows what to do with the property and it seems like this is the only franchise that they don’t have a concrete plan for. Which is a shame because there is a lot of potential in it.

    • H says:

Agree. I’ve had tickets to Civil War for months for opening night. I have my #TeamCap t-shirt ready to go, as do all my fellow comic book fanboy friends. Will I do that for Ghostbusters? No. I never was a huge fan of the original, so I will wait and see if the reviews are any good for the reboot before I purchase tickets, and I won’t be going opening weekend.

Sorry, Corey, but for me (and most nerds) superheroes in capes win every time. 🙂

  9. Mewsie says:

Chris could try and choose a part in which he is not filthy rich/supernatural/heroic/super swole. It would be a nice change to see him play a single dad raising a daughter, or a hairdresser, a florist, an LGBT character, someone poor (like B Rabbit in 8 Mile).

    • Naya says:

“like B Rabbit in 8 Mile”

Lol. I just cant see Hemsworth playing a street based character like B Rabbit but I do agree he needs to give the he-man roles a rest and find something that requires vulnerability. Lets see how he does with Ghostbusters but something tells me they should have gone woth Channing Tatum for their hunky bimbo of an admin professional.

      • Mewsie says:

I meant someone poor but not one-dimensional, like Hollywood usually depicts poor people. I actually loved Eminem in 8 Mile. I did not think that he delivered an Oscar performance, but I was blown away that he did it in the first place, and that he did it well for a dude with no acting training.

My problem with Chris is he whines a lot about wanting to play complicated and deep characters, but somehow he always goes for the he-man roles like you said.

I was watching Blackhat and I was thinking, “It is perfectly possible to code without your tits out!”. Maybe Chris wants to do more but the middle-aged white dudes who direct him relegate him to acting out their power fantasies. I don’t even know. I want to, for once in my life, leave the cinema after a Chris movie and feel like the world will never be the same.

By comparison, last weekend I watched The Dressmaker and Liam’s character dying stupidly will haunt me for decades!

  10. Maum says:

    That video was adorable.

  11. NUTBALLS says:

I’m not a big fan of Chris’ acting, but after watching the Ghostbusters Vignette, I think he’s got good comedic timing. Maybe he needs to do more screwball comedy?

  12. Snowflake says:

That was so sweet. It really made that lady’s day. And he looks really good. I love how they started throwing clothes over the divider like they were doing it! 🙂
He looks manly and hot with the beard.

  13. Loo says:

I like Hemsworth all around, he just needs better projects.

  14. Robin says:

He seems like a good sport and a really nice guy. Loved the video.

  15. Lurker says:

“Is it just me, or does anyone else think the Ghostbusters reboot may fare better than Civil War?”

I’m pretty sure it’s just you. Nobody else in the world thinks that.

  16. Green says:

Nice guy but he’s doing a lot of these PR things lately for his film. There was that check for the boy who gave him back his wallet. I like the idea of him playing a secretary. That’s funny.
