Drake and Rihanna have been friends for so many years. As I’ve said before, I’ve always felt like Rihanna was the one saying “no,” that if she would only give Drake the nod, he would devote his whole world to her. He’s always seemed like he’s been in love with her this whole time, just waiting for his moment. And maybe his moment is NOW. People Magazine is now saying that Drake and Rihanna are happening, and have been happening for months. Probably right around the time they were filming those steamy music videos for “Work,” right?
They’ve been fueling romance rumors for months, and now it turns out Rihanna and Drake are really making it work. The longtime friends and collaborators have been “secretly dating for months,” a source tells PEOPLE exclusively. On Wednesday night, the duo showed off their chemistry on stage at the Forum during the second night of her Anti World Tour in Los Angeles.
In the middle of performing their hit song “Work” (which is the first song in 2016 to go multi-platinum three times), Rihanna – whose album #ANTI is also the first album to go multi-platinum twice this year – brought out her man and danced sexily with him, grabbing his jacket and pulling him closer to her. (Meanwhile, Drake’s newly released Views sold more than 1 million copies and was streamed on Apple Music more than 250 million times in first week.)
After the concert, Drake, 29, and Rihanna, 28, headed to The Nice Guy to celebrate and were “dancing all night together,” says an onlooker. “They were being very affectionate.”
Though she told Ellen DeGeneres in February she’s “single right now,” the source says the singers have been purposely hiding their relationship.
“They have been keeping it a secret because this time around, they want to do it right and keep their relationship private,” says the source of the couple, who were rumored to have dated a couple years ago.
Drake was dealing with Serena Williams last year (many blamed Drake for Serena’s poor performance at the US Open final), but I think Serena and Drake were done by the end of 2015, if not sooner. I also think Drake had something, years ago perhaps, with Nicki Minaj, although he’s now saying that he and Minaj don’t speak anymore. As for Rihanna, her love life has been a mystery for years. I tend to think she’s a baller, a shot caller, and she could have any guy she wanted. So what to make of this? I really do think Drake just wore her down. He seems like a drunk-dialer. How many times did he call Rihanna at 2 am just to tell her that he loves her and that she’s the most special person he’s ever met? And finally she was like, “Fine, alright, let’s do this but don’t tell anybody.”

Drake and Nicki never dated. Their flirty will-they-won’t-they relationship was a stunt to raise their profiles in 2010. Nicki had a boyfriend for 10 years. Nicki’s ex admitted this. Nicki even said her relationship with Drake was part of character.

I agree, I believe that nothing happened with Nicki. Drake is not her type and she put him into the friend zone a long time ago. I think Nicki and Rihanna are both unattainable girls that he loves, but will never have a chance with.
I love the sexual vibe that she has. It is dark and mysterious. And I like that she keeps her private life actually private. She’s not in our faces taking selfies and tweeting every second. They go so well together.

Im calling bs on this story. Its probably planted to promote her tour/his album. I have no doubt that they occassionally share a bed or that Drake would want a gf, but I dont think she is having it. I think she is still doing her no-strings with multiple people.
Someone else says it. His shows are not really selling despite album sales. RIAA introduced a new method which counts 10 single sales= 1 album sale so all that numbers from his album sale are mostly track sales of Hotline Bling of last year and the new one, One Dance which are really selling well. This means that 1 million people did not purchase his album. Probably 400k at most.
Rihanna also had to downgrade her stadiums to arenas which are still not selling out and she invited Drake to almost every show to perform.
It’s rather sad because her last album was good but she only performs Work which is not a good song. They both need to move tickets hence this relationship complete with “sources” spilling to People Magazine
That’s not true. He sold 850k albums purly sales. Yes, the streams does count, which leads to the 1,2m sales. But the album has sold VERY well. Biggest besides Taylor and Adele in YEARS.

@farah, but he has TEA. He got them from Hotline Bling and One Dance which are both available for single downloads. And that is what the first article is calling gross. They added hotline bling to the album and added it’s sales and streams and are passing it off as pure album sales and then said that no TEA was added. And that is not done. Nowhere did billboard specify that hotline bling streams and sales were added but they were and that’s what’s referred to as “Gross” in the first article. Please really read it.
If Drake has dismal album sales the Beyonce ‘s career must be over.. Drake sold 850k Beyonce sold 485k…which to me seems really good. I dont understand how this can be considered bad. Most artist are not even selling more than a 100k in the first week anymore
I wouldn’t call 800,000+ in this day and age lackluster sales. It’s nowhere near as easy as it was to break platinum as it was in the days before streaming and pirating. That’s part of why artists like Adele and Taylor Swift are BIG DEALS to the music companies – because they consistently bring in numbers that aren’t seen these days.
I’m also skeptical of the timing. But I don’t know if it’s an official plant or just speculation based on him showing up on her tour a few times and that lyric mentioning her on his new album. I don’t think either of them have ever officially confirmed any past relationship (with each other or anyone else) to the press? At least not since the Chris Brown days. Anyway, I hope its true because I am so ridiculously into this. Makes me feel like a 12 year old girl doodling hearts around them or something.

Now I didn’t say it ain’t selling, I’m just saying that 1 mil lion people didn’t go on iTunes to buy Drake’s album. That much will be evident when the second week sales come in and then the %drop will tell us about lot of things.
According to Prince (bless his soul) Lady Gaga bought the Billboard Artist of the year award so they have never been reputable. That’s where you go to put a positive spin on things.

I think we’re misunderstanding each other. Views has sold 839k pure albums sales. There’s also something called TEA and SEA, which helps the overall album sales.
Track equivalent album sales: 10 tracks = 1 album
Streaming equivalent album sales: 1500 streams = 1 album
Drake doesn’t have TEA because you can’t buy individual of Views. You can only buy the whole album.

You’re right a million people didn’t buy his album. Only 839k did. That’s still the third best first week in two tears! And the highest first week sales by a man since Justin Timberlake in 2013.
And he did all of this without physical copies. It was only sold through Itunes. If he did have physical copies, it would’ve easily sold 1 million. Drake’s hype is insane right now.

Errrm actually nope. I think they’re friends who have flings occasionally. Drake only dates Big Booty Strippers. That’s what always comes between them. Drake is the same with pretty much every girl he’s linked with. Remember when it was Zoe Kravitz, then Nicki, then Aaliyah. Dead Aaliyah. This guy is one of the creepiest guys around. No growth as an artiste whatever. He’s only interested in “saving these hoes”. His words not mine.
If ever there was a PR couple, it’s these two…. Rihanna’s shows aren’t doing so well so she calls Drake to show up when she’s performing in Canada and LA. The urban blogs have details on this. I, too, am insanely happy about this. The reason, I think, is that Drake seems like a really good guy (as well as hella talented and sexy) and (maybe) Rihanna finally sees his true worth . I believe it took her a long time to get over Chris Brown, a worthless piece of sh-t, who beat and demeaned her. Who knows if this is true or just publicity? But I do love them together.

Drake and Nicki weren’t an item. Who knows if they were FWB or not but there was no relationship. Judging from lyrics on What A Time To Be Alive & Views, I think he expected Nicki to be loyal to their friendship and he seems surprised and let down by her behavior (personally I think she was probably the one gassing Meek up for that beef), but not getting an exes vibe at all. He was very respectful of her in the Beats 1 interview. He was respectful of everyone really.
I agree that it’s always seemed like Rihanna is in the driver seat of whatever’s been going on with Drake. I want them to work out. I think they look great together, have great professional chemistry, and just seem on the same level. Drake is a notorious ho but so was Jay Z before he decided to settle down (though I guess he still is). I trust this mostly because People is usually legit, but I’ll really believe it when Drake’s harem starts acting up on Instagram!

What is the point of having a LIVE concert if you are not going to sing LIVE. I really hate this trend of fake singing. If your dancing is too involved than STOP dancing. So annoying.
Dating, I highly doubt. Hooking up is more what I suspect. Which is fine, but…these two are kind of like the drug neither can give up, easy and familiar. As charming as they are in photographs and videos, I honestly wish both of them would move on to something more fulfilling – though if I’m honest, my sympathy lies more with Drake because I get the sense that Rihanna has the real control there. My feeling is that if they were meant to be, it would have happened by now, yeah?
RiRi reminds me a lot of myself when I was her age. I had tons of male friends that I had lots of fun with. Nothing too deep, nothing too serious. I was having the time of my life traveling, and having a blast. Good for her!
