Happy Fathers Day babe! Thank you for always putting our family first and being the best dad to our babies! pic.twitter.com/O3h5JdbL7a

Kim Kardashian posted this cute photo for Father’s Day on Sunday, and it just serves as a reminder that we rarely see little Saint West. I thought the Kardashian-Wests would follow the same trajectory they had for North, which is that when Saint got to be about 6 months old, he would be trotted out for photo-ops regularly. For what it’s worth, I believe Kanye loves, adores and worships his kids and his wife. His family is his whole world.
So what did Yeezy want for Father’s Day? He wanted his wife to cook for him. He wanted a big home-cooked meal. So Kim obliged! I never think of Kim as someone who knows what to do in the kitchen, and I’m almost positive that Kanye has a private chef who cooked not only for him, but for Kim, the kids, Kris Jenner and more. Like, the private chef stayed at Kris Jenner’s house when the Kardashian-Wests were living with Kris. But I can understand why Kanye wanted Kim to cook for him: it probably rarely happens, and he probably genuinely likes it when she “takes care of him.”
So Kim made a big deal about Snapchatting her cooking skillz. Kanye’s Father’s Day meal included fried chicken, cornbread, green beans, mac & cheese (I think?), and something else. My guess is that she did do SOME of the cooking, but some of the stuff was bought at a store or made by someone else. The shot of the chicken frying in that deep pan nearly gave me a panic attack – put down your phone and watch your chicken!!! She’s overloaded that pan. I think dessert was some kind of banana pudding with vanilla wafers.
Wifey made the best Father's Day meal ever. So thankful so happy so blessed. Thank you for making my family

Sincerely hope it tasted better than it looks. Gross.
I just commented that the food looks dry. lol
It really does not look tasty. Just order in
-Snazzy
It’s truly the thought that counts.
I think it’s sweet. If my husband cooked me a terrible meal id love it like crazy and thank him loads because it’s stepping out of the comfort zone and really trying. And timing a dish and several sides is tricky for a newb.
I also have a few dishes that look awful and photograph terribly but they are absolutely scrumptious so I’ll give her benefit of the doubt. I’m feeling kind and positive today 🙂
I am going to stop at your comment. It was nice and appreciated apparently. Stay happy today!
what we all do every day when we make a meal for our husband we take pictures and post them for the world to see lol these idiots are exhausting
agree.. I wouldn’t call that a meal.
Like seriously do these people get paid for their hash tags.
That is not Kim’s Instagram account, but another random account that saves and posts all of her snapchats.
Dunno but what’s the constant incessant need to share pics of your ass food or your vagina supposedly all ‘for your husband’ but you are sending it to the whole world I just don’t get it…it’s something for you two…and the whole fcking world to know, it’s just bizarre self serving and vomit inducing.
Delicious menu.
The presentation of that banana pudding screams outsourced to me.
Oh, I laughed so hard when I saw that picture because it is a recipe straight from the back of a Nilla Wafers box- I remember it from about 25 years ago. Maybe longer!
Lol banana looks rotten too.
Struggle plates.
yep
Omg thank you for this! I’ve never heard that term and I just googled it and it has made my week!
Checkout the instagram @cookingforbae, it’s both gross and funny 🙂
Haven’t heard of it either. Googled it and pictures like this pop up on my FB everyonce in a while.
I thought the same thing, but we shouldn’t have expected much from her. It’s the thought that counts lol
Lol
I also want to thank you for opening my eyes up to the struggle plate.
Pretty much everything I cook is a struggle plate, but I don’t have the lady-balls to IG it. LOL.
That’s what gets me. I KNOW when my food is ugly. LOL
I’m senior and slooow- what’s a “struggle plate”? Gracias!
NEVER MIND, GOT IT 😆😆
That’s a struggle plate if I’ve ever seen one lol. Cute photo
That food looks dry as hell.
Im surprised she doesn’t Snapchat her bowel movements. Why didn’t she film herself preparing the food? I mean, she could have had someone else film it. Cause she didn’t cook it!! What’s a struggle plate? You struggle to do it?
Googled it and it states: bad food + confidence. To me, presentations gone wrong. Lots of pictures if you google it. One pic is a hot dog, cut to look like an octopus (8 legs) and put on top of mac & cheese. Many of the pictures are unbelievable!
Hey, hot dogs are great in mac&cheese! I’ve often sliced up veggie dogs for it. Not into decorating my mac&cheese with it, though.
@Jwoolman, mac & cheese and hot dogs is one of my go to’s when I have all the grandkiddos over. But this was just weird looking.
Yeah, a hot dog octopus does sound a tad gag-worthy. Not as bad as a real one, though (not a seafood fan).
Looks like BBQ chicken to me..and the mac/cheese is lacking (try stouffer’s, kimmee..)
She posted pictures (they’re on DM) of her frying it.
OMG – it must be love, because he sure didn’t marry her for her cooking skills. This looks…uhm… I think terrible is putting it mildly. But since they can afford a cook or two and probably go out 90% of the time, there’s nothing to worry about! 😀
That looks horrible!
Why does she hashtag some of the major cities of the world when she’s cooked dinner? Like LA, Paris, Milan, Atlanta….these cities and all their inhabitants need to know she cooked something?
I deserve to be pelted with garbage for this comment, but why didn’t she serve him some rump roast?
@Dolkite, I am in the queue to pelt you with garbage, but because you made me laugh out loud, I will only do it gently, and with very squashy old tomatoes!
I am fascinated by the term “struggle plate”, at last I have found a way to describe most of what I put on the table of an evening! Still, I try my best, and everything is prepared with love, which saves most of my dishes. I am known for my fabulous desserts though, pavlova, anyone? If you can slather whipped cream, and chocolate shavings, all over it, it is a winner in my house.
Mmmmm ….I adore pavlova. My preference for dessert is always fresh fruit. Just the fruit – no trimmings, creams, syrups, ice cream etc. However, if pavlova is on the menu, that’s it. I’m done. I love the classic pav – whipped cream, strawberries, kiwi fruit and passion fruit. Cannot. Beat. It.
@AnnaKist, a woman after my own heart! My pavlova’s are famous in this neck of the woods. I use my mother’s recipe, it has very secret ingredients, and it always turns out a treat!
That mac n cheese offends me. Where is the seasoning?? Where is the cheese?? Did she really give him a serving of limp noodles?? No bread crumbs on top?? The same goes for the string beans. No garlic on them? No seasoning? 😩 And what piece of chicken is that?? A leg and a wing? I can’t tell 🤔 I’m very concerned. This plate of food looks sad and dejected. #Struggle
String beans look like they are the canned variety. Chicken doesn’t look like it has any kind of breading on it (maybe that’s how they do it). Think the orange stuff is sweet potatoes.
Corn muffin mix.
@GNAT – most likely. Love good corn bread/muffins.
I was given some green bean seeds at a recent seed swap. They are supposed to grow to be 4-6 feet in length. I think they’re called Vietnamese long beans. I planted 3 of them and the vines are growing about 3-4 inches a day. I hope the person who gave me the beans wasn’t joshing me.
@ Lady D. Will have to tell my daughter about them. She has a garden and we just had some wonderful green beans from it the other night. She is always looking for new things to plant!
The mac and cheese hurts me deep.
Man, mac and cheese is like the PERFECT comfort food. I could eat entirely too much of it. And my aunt just found an amazing recipe that I need to steal because ever since I tried it at the last big family supper – it’s all I’ve wanted to eat.
Yum. I love it, too. Have you had lobster mac and cheese? I was all, oh, please, why ruin the perfect food by putting in something fancy, how showy and pretentious, ok, I’ll try it but I won’t like…holy crap, that is fabulous. More, please. No, more than that. Are you going to eat all of yours?
Yes Swak, it all looks very sad.
Erinn- sounds SO delish! Family dinners always have the best mac n cheese. This is something you need to stick your foot in! You have to perFECT it! I don’t eat it often, but my hubby and cousin make the best mac n cheese. Ever since I tasted theirs it’s impossible for me to eat anyone else’s.
Wish I had a good recipe for homemade mac & cheese because I can gorge on it totally. But alas, I don’t.
What’s your recipe?!
Almond your comment has me giggling nonstop. About a minute before I read your post, I showed the pic to my co-worker and we both said in unison ‘that’s an insult to mac and cheese.’
ICM: see now you have me giggling!! I was extremely upset at first because that plate and the food on it are completely disrespectful. But I have to laugh because why expect more from Kim?? This is her best. I was being unreasonable 😂😂😂
Traditional southern/soul food menu. Banana pudding looks good, but I agree with the other commenters, the food looks dry. Too much time in the oven.
Indeed this is the quintessential Struggle Plate #CookingforBae (aka the stuff that gets you laughed at in Black Twitter)
Yesss!!!! OMG those meals look sooooo sad.
True but I think that it’s sweet that she tried.
Not soul food, but soulless food. Which is actually surprisingly apropos, given what we know about the chef.
Heh heh.
I’m just super amused that she clearly MUST have cooked most of it herself because it really doesn’t look great. I mean… it’s a nice gesture I guess? But I never lucked out with having a mom who taught me how to cook stuff – nan occassionally would try, but most of my plates of food look pretty great in comparison. The exception tends to be creamed lobster – because it’s hard to not make that look like a delicious sloppy mess.
As a Southerner, this plate OFFENDS me. I’m mostly laughing though.
Yeah it was nice of her to try, bless her heart, but that is one pitiful struggle plate.
That looks foul. Macaroni and cheese should have cheese. The something else on that foul plate is yams.
I have a really sweet friend who can’t boil water, and our department was having a pot luck, so we gave her Mac and cheese. She forgot the cheese. It’s in the NAME. But anyway, it stunk, as you can imagine. She didn’t even notice everybody took one bite only.
Well… She said he wanted a home cooked meal… no specifics on WHO he expected to cook it. 😃
This looks like the same meal she cooked for Kanye a long time ago, and also for Reggie. They both oohed and ahed over it. Not sure about the vanilla wafers thing. Must be her go-to home-cooked meal. I do think she cooked it – she cooked meals for herself and her first husband, I think. So she knows how. She was quite young and I don’t think she had an outside job (not sure). That was the husband who paid for her early adventures in plastic surgery.
Not the kind of mac and cheese I like, but my mother made it like that. I’m a minimalist: cook the pasta in the microwave (no stove), put in the toaster oven (no stove again…) with some coconut oil or butter, add onions and cheese and maybe garlic and if handy, some veg. Instead of cheese can use vegan nutritional yeast concoctions also (really tasty, either yeast extract or nutritional yeast mixed with ground nuts and seeds). I don’t use any milk (allergic to milk), so that’s all and it’s firm rather than mushy. Oh – the original Grape Nuts cereal is divine mixed with plain pasta, a little fat, onions and or garlic (powder works), and Parmesan cheese. Pop cereal in toaster oven first with the fat, then add the rest.
So should we pat him on the back for doing what dad’s do? Should we pat her on the back for knowing how to cook ONE meal. She has cooked that same meal for Reggie and Humphries lol. She’s been bragging about being able to make fried chicken for years now.
eww
That meal was made without love girl!
Is that supposed to be fried okra next to the mac & cheese? And that’s not the banana pudding with ‘Nilla wafers I grew up with. The recipe is on ‘Nilla wafer box, it’s not that hard to follow.
I suppose any home-cooked meal is appreciated when you eat out all the time.
I’ve never seen fried chicken that color. I’ve never seen fried chicken w/out breading or batter. I’ve never seen Mac-n-cheese with no cheese. All very odd.
“I suppose any home-cooked meal is appreciated when you eat out all the time.”
My late hubby was notorious for announcing that he’d invited someone for dinner right at the last minute. Hubby didn’t expect me to make anything special, more like just extend whatever we were having. One evening, I’d already started dinner when the announcement came. (The friend had just moved back to Sydney after living interstate for a few years, and I hadn’t yet met him.) I was making some lovely sausages, made by our fabulous butcher, along with mashed potatoes, onion gravy, green beans and steamed carrots. I plated up, served dinner and sat down. Then asked the question: “What were you doing in Melbourne for so long?” “Oh, didn’t Hub tell you? I was head chef at …….” I was mortified. Bangers and mash to this fella… Howeve, he almost licked the plate clean, saying it had been so long since he’d had such a lovely home-cooked meal.
Kim’s meal looks tres ordinaire, so rather apt, really.
Some people make it with so much milk or maybe cream soup that although the cheese is in there somewhere, it’s just not front and center so you notice it on top. Or taste much of it…. Oh, dear. Memories of mom’s mushy mac&cheese and overcooked vegetables are coming back. Gag. Sorry, mom. You were a wonderful person otherwise.
Kim probably was self-taught cooking-wise since Demon Mother knows how to cook spaghetti and that’s about it. I had to learn on my own also since mom (who also was self-taught, having lost her mom in childhood) thought that was her job. But I keep it simple and usually in one bowl so I can more easily fend off predatory felines. So presentation isn’t really on my radar either.
I’m not a huge fan of Kim and Kanye separately, bit I like them as a couple. It was a nice gesture, even if the food looks terrible.
Well, she probably never cooks so I give her kudos for putting on a meal for him, whether it worked or not. I’m laughing at the paddle board pic – North strategically placed to hide Mama’s body. Must have been a fat day after the comfort food meal lolllll.
Thanks Pandy – that was the first thing I noticed, too. I wonder if it was a fluke or staged that way? Probably the latter…
They filmed her making this meal years ago, long before Kimye. I think she actually does know how to make it.
Why all the negative?? Good for them. They seem genuinely happy as a couple and family.
Bless her heart.
It’s impossible for me to poke fun at Kanye. It seems…wrong. Like he’s a vulnerable kid. With too much ego.
This sounds obnoxious but cooking is just so easy to me (and I loathe cooking) that I truly can’t comprehend how people turn out a plate like that. I never got taught, it’s all just common sense and googling what I don’t know. How does it get so anaemic?
