US Weekly features an exclusive cover story this week with the details of Jon Gosselin’s three month affair with a young third grade teacher from his hometown. Last week they revealed that Gosselin, the dad on TLC Reality Show “Jon & Katie Plus 8,” was busted in his car with another woman outside a bar at 2am. Both Jon and the other woman denied that there was anything going on between them. Jon claimed that she was a friend and that he was just letting her check out his new car.
The brother of the woman Gosselin was cheating with was willing to go on the record with details of his sister’s relationship to US Weekly. Jason Hummel lives with his sister Deanna and he confirms that was she having an affair with married dad of eight Jon, and that he could often hear them having sex in the house:
In the new issue of Us Weekly (on newsstands Wednesday), five people close to the situation – including two relatives of the other woman – confirm that Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad Jon Gosselin, 32, has been having an affair with third grade school teacher Deanna Hummel.
The most explosive blow-by-blow details are revealed by Deanna’s older brother – and roommate – Jason, who tells Us Weekly that he is speaking out now to set the record straight and to protect his naive sister.
“She’s a nice girl, not a homewrecker,” Jason tells Us Weekly. “He is a bad liar. This isn’t healthy for her. But she is refusing to help herself, so here I am trying to help her myself. I hope this clears the air.”
After Jon and Deanna met in mid-January at Chill Lounge in Reading, Pennsylvania (they sent each other $3 shots), Jason says Jon — who has twins, 8, and sextuplets, 5 — began relentlessly pursuing his sister. By mid-February, he was coming over to their Reading house.
On April 26 – while his wife Kate was traveling – Jon had Deanna over to sunbathe in his family’s front lawn (see photo, left). This was just seven days after they had first been photographed together at Legends Lounge at 2 a.m. in pictures that show he is not wearing his wedding band.
At the Hummel house, Jason says Deanna and Jon would “pretty much stay locked away like two teenagers. It was weird. He’s a grown man.”
He also adds, “A lot of the time, it was pretty, um, gross listening to her, you know, um — how do I say this? The walls are thin. Let’s just say that. I mean, no one wants to hear his sister having sex, let alone with a married dude who’s, like, almost twice her age and who has eight kids and a maybe-crazy wife. Ick. Nast.”

It looks like Gosselin is busted now. Not only does US Weekly have a quote from his girlfriend’s brother, they also claim that they’ve confirmed the affair with four other people, including another one of her relatives. Do you think these two will break up and will TLC record it for posterity or will their show be quietly canceled? From what I understand ‘Jon & Kate’ revolves around this fantasy that they’re a happy family that copes with 8 kids on their own. The show doesn’t reveal the fact that they supposedly have a chef, nannies and a maid. It’s not like they’re going to reveal that daddy hasn’t been living at home and has been stepping out with a teacher.

I do feel bad for those kids, who have been wh*red out by their parents their entire lives, now having to watch (or read about later when they get older) their family’s implosion played out on a national level, all because of GREED.

I don’t totally blame the reality show. Jon said he would do what it took to ensure college educations would be paid for, impossible otherwise with 8 kids. This story sounds sensationalized. Jon is 32, the woman is 23 – hardly TWICE her age. Jon and Kate might work it out for the kids, but also kids can sense animosity and that’s not healthy either. Maybe Kate should pull in her horns for starters and show Jon some dignity.
So much for family loyalty. That brother is a real tool for doing that to his sister….he must have smelled money and the mere whiff of it was probably enough to turn her in.
I hate stories like this. Mainly because, despite all the stuff Jon and/or Kate may or may not have done or even the things we know they’ve done (like selling out their kids) it’s still a huge blow to a marriage. Their kids are going to be the ones who suffer for it, even more then they are already suffering by having their lives broadcast for entertainment purposes.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Jon being out in the wee hours of the night with young women drinking. I highly doubt that a father of eight, in his 30’s has a lot in common with a single 23 year old!! I don’t like Kate either but it’s pretty low of Jon to keep putting it out there.I also heard that Jon no longer wanted to keep going on the show but Kate wanted too..

A long time ago before they got famous from the TLC show he told a interviewer he didnt want more kids after the twins, but Kate had to have more. Boy did she shoot daggers at him when he told the interviewer that. Their marriage was shakey even back then.

Regardless of what Kate comes across like on TV, alot of it is all in the editing. I feel sorry for her and those poor kids. I think the fact that they did a reality show to help pay for those kids college education shows the depths a parent would go to for their kids well-being. The kids never asked for it no, but when they are older, I know they will appreciate it.
Jon is a tool! Did he really expect everyone to believe these “just friends” excuses when night after night he’s out till 2 am at bars? Happily married men who don’t cheat on their wives don’t generally make it a point to go out that often to bars or put themselves into that situation. I agree with you lizzard, while she might seem like a crazy biatch, some one has to be the bad guy in a house full of children. At what point do you just let your 8 kids walk all over you instead of being in control? What Jon did was wrong and if this story is even semi-true I’m not watching this show any more. This is unfortunate because all of their children are so adorable and they shouldn’t have to be put through this.
I think it would have been easier for Jon to stay loyal had he been treated better. He never really seemed happy to me.

I am stunned at the number of people supporting Jon and Kate’s decision to exploit their children. The lies they have committed towards the public and media saying they are poor when they make over $70,000 AN EPISODE just so sponsors keep sending them free trips and products (which of course it’s their children’s jobs to promote) is disgusting. All this talk of college educations is hogwash. Jon and Kate have been after themselves this whole time. They had enough money to send their kids to college by a few seasons ago. Their children live in a fishbowl which will affect them the rest of their lives, regardless of whether the show gets canceled (by the way, Jon and Kate QUIT THEIR JOBS to live entirely off their children’s income, and when the show gets canned, there will be 8 broken exploited children with 2 unemployed parents). So they get a few extra toys or a trip to Hawaii. BIG DEAL. That does NOT bring happiness. And with the grants and scholarships available today, those kids could find ways to go to college without having their lives ruined. If you don’t believe me, try reading up on other multiples whose parents made them child stars and see what happened to their lives. This is sick, sick stuff. And those poor children (who are NOT salespeople and never asked for this) are the ones who will pay the biggest price. They already look miserable, just wait another 5 years. As for “editing”, it’s true reality TV does edit scenes but what you say is what gets on TV, and there is no one else putting Kate’s words into her mouth but her. At least the Gosselin’s are finally getting the reality check they deserve. If that show was filmed in CA or NY, it would be ILLEGAL and they would be sued for child exploitation like OctoMom.
