I know that about five people will care about this story, but I’m one of them so let’s talk about Naomi Watts. This lady just turned 48(!) years old. She’s five years older than me and yet somehow looks younger and more radiant. (Naomi denies using Botox but I would bet she gets fancy treatments like laser resurfacing.) She’s also doing fine in the wake of her split with longterm partner, Liev Screiber. Naomi posted the above Instagram on her birthday. Judging by the hashtags, these are cake pops from craft services on the NY set of her new Netflix series, Gypsy, which is directed by Sam Taylor Johnson. Naomi plays a therapist who gets too close to the friends and family of her patients. Also, do you think she ate any of those? I think she had about one. That’s no shade! I’m just saying she must be prudent with her calories.
The Daily Mail points out that Naomi’s former partner and the father of their two sons, Liev Schreiber, bicycled them to school yesterday. You can see a paparazzi photo of that on the Daily Mail. Naomi and Liev used to bicycle around NYC together with their kids all the time. I really like riding my bike around town, but it seems kind of stressful to me to bike in NY. It’s probably the easiest way to get around though.
As for how this split is going, we’ve barely heard anything from either side except for the initial joint announcement and some very general insider quotes. E! has a quote from an insider who claims that this has been “a long time coming” and that they “grew apart.” “They fell out of love like any normal person can in a long-term relationship. They’ll still remain close friends.” I like this new model for celebrity splits. I want Naomi and Liev to keep their personal business to themselves, as they have to date.
We’ve only heard some minor things from them to suggest that they’re having trouble. Naomi said, in an interview this spring, “relationships are hard whether you’re famous or not. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have to work on it,” but that was after she was asked about it specifically. In Liev’s Esquire interview this summer he made it clear that he values Naomi and their family but he also hinted that it’s work. “I decided I was going to make a family with this person. For better or for worse, I stepped into a partnership with somebody. We were gonna bring kids into this world and try to love and respect each other.” So they’ve been classy so far and it would be great if they could keep it that way.
Also here’s a photo Naomi posted of herself as a baby. Cute!
Here’s Naomi on the set of Gypsy yesterday. I love the styles they put her in and am assuming this is set in the 70s, although it’s hard to tell apart from the bell bottoms.

Naomi is so ridiculously beautiful…and I love her acting! I hope she had a wonderful 48th birthday!
She looks much older than 48 to me somehow.
It’s called ‘no plastic surgery’.
She clearly takes care of herself but she also clearly hasn’t had anything ‘done’. We’re not used to seeing that but I think she looks great and I hope I look as good as her when I’m 48.
Oooh I want some (a lot) of those now! And even though the circumstances may not be the best at the moment, Happy Birthday Naomi!
I’ll watch this show for the outfits alone.
Looks too clean and modern to be set in the 70s, but current fashion is very 70s inspired.
Get it, Naomi! Single with a bunch of cake pops is fabulous.
I clicked on this story because I’m about to break up with my long-term boyfriend and want some encouragement for when I’m single and alone on my birthday. Surround yourself with cake and its fine??
Add a bucket of ice cream to go with the cake, and you should be fine… Hugs.
Hugs!!!!
Thank you 🙂
Her son is adorbs!
One of the classiest ladies in HW. Some should take notes. Happy B-day, Naomi!
I am one of these five who cares. I am glad they put the children first and try to keep their s*t together, instead of tearing each other apart in front of the public opinion (Brangelina, I am looking at you). Please, more Naomi, less Brange.
If each cake pop represents each short and sweet fling she’s about to have, well, I hope she eats them all.
Love this woman. Those cake pops look gorgeous, and I’m not usually one for pastries. Maybe her face sells them a bit better…?
I have worshipped Naomi since 21 Grams.
Her class, talent and grace are her most beautiful qualities.
I love her. Naomi, I will share cake pops with you!
