Different people react differently to shock and trauma. It seemed obvious to me that Kim Kardashian was legitimately traumatized by the robbery in Paris earlier this month. The loss of her jewelry probably hurt, but the biggest trauma was that armed gunmen broke into what she considered a safe, secure place, and they tied her up and manhandled her. She reportedly begged for her life and truly thought she was going to be raped and/or killed. We heard for weeks that Kim was still dealing with the trauma, that she wanted to go into therapy, that she was having nightmares and that she had no interest in going back to her public life post-robbery. Then some time passed. And she got bored with staying home.
Three weeks after being robbed in her Paris hotel room, Kim Kardashian West is slowly acclimating herself back into the public eye, including attending husband Kanye West‘s concert on Tuesday.
“Kim was happy to attend Kanye’s concert last night,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She is starting to seem a bit bored. She wants to make plans for more outings and maybe even a trip. Things are slowly getting back to a new normal.”
Since being gagged and bound while five masked men dressed as police officers stole millions of dollars worth of jewelry earlier this month, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has been keeping a low profile, canceling all public appearances and scaling back on social media. Though Kardashian West did take a break from filming KUWTK after the robbery, she has gradually resumed filming over the last few weeks.
“Kim still prefers to lay low,” another source says. “She has filmed at home with her sister and Kris on a few occasions. She has been able to pick when she wants to film and how much. There is still no pressure.”
Kardashian West, who is known for going all out for her birthday celebrations, celebrated her 36th year at home with her family and two children — North, 3, and Saint, 11 months.
“For her birthday, Kim was overwhelmed by all the congratulations,” says the source. “She received so many gorgeous flower arrangements that they filled almost her whole house.”
I’m sure people will slam her for all of this and much more, but this is actually how many healthy people deal with trauma. They take a break, they change some of their patterns, they take time to heal and take time to feel “normal” again. And I think that’s what has happened. Kim can’t change who she fundamentally is, which is someone who enjoys being in the spotlight, someone who enjoys being open about her life, someone who enjoys being famous. She probably will change some of her patterns – more security, fewer jewelry selfies – but I think it’s a good sign that Kim is getting bored.

You and me both. However, I see she is back to her old tricks and calling the pap’s to watch her get ice cream. Who does that, and most importantly who goes out for ice cream without their kids? I still think it was a hoax. Something smells fishy.

This is one of those situations where she’ll be damned no matter what she does. I really do believe that she was robbed, though I know so many people that don’t. I saw that she’s been out three times, or at least photographed three times, and she had on a giant baggy sweatshirt, flats, and no makeup all of those times so I would say that she’s definitely not back to how she was yet.
Khloe doesn’t seem to have learned a damn thing because her stupid ass was posting pictures of herself wearing her boyfriend’s championship ring and she had on multiple diamond rings. I don’t think she can help her thirst. It’s like her and Kylie couldn’t help but try to pounce once Kim took a hiatus.
I wouldn’t say she had no make up on. She had less make up on which suits her so much better. And yes, like others, she’ll be damned no matter what she does.

I tend to think the robbery was real, too. Otherwise, wouldn’t Kim have been on EVERY talk show? The only reason to fake the robbery, would be to use it for huge publicity, and she hasn’t done that. Unless, she is waiting for the burglary episode of KUWTK. Then, maybe, I will side eye her story…

I’m not going to hate her for that – it sounds pretty normal.
She’s used to constantly doing things, trips, events, whatever. This robbery freaked her out (understandably) and it was hard for her to go out and do anything because of it. After a while – you’re going to get bored when you’re not doing any of the things you used to do. The boredom will overcome the fear little by little, and you’ll do more and more. She might never be as ‘out there’ as she used to be, but I never expected she’d become a hermit for the rest of her life for this.
And if she’s starting to feel better – good. Hopefully she’s been able to talk to a professional about all of this.
What’s the point of getting skinny if no one is taking pictures of you in your bra and underwear pretending you are fashionable?
I was just thinking the same thing. Well, about Kim and her ever-present underwear, but good point to put out her weight loss.
Let me preface this by saying I can’t stand any Kardashian and I wish they would go away. I do believe Kim was robbed and I’m sure the whole experience was incredibly traumatic. She should make some changes to her security and posting online where she is with expensive jewelry. She shouldn’t change, and this pains me to say, who she is or what she likes to do. That wouldn’t be a healthy response. She is annoying but I don’t think she has ever broke the law. She doesn’t deserve to punish herself for something that was not her fault.

Yes, Her face in that pic wearing the black dress is so ridiculously pointy…she also looks like Emily R…erm…ski from Gone Girl, whose chief interest in life is getting her kit off for photos.

All I ever think when I see this woman is, she must be the most insecure person on Earth. If she’s not receiving massive public attention, she starts hyperventilating and panicking. Fame is like oxygen to her. Without it she has nothing and will die, because without it she has absolutely nothing else.
Could we take up a collection to pay her therapist to tell her she needs to lay low for awhile longer, like a year or two or ten.
If you look at some of the DM shots of her going for yoghurt and at dumyes gig, you can see she might have taken the time out toget bum tweeks- it’s smaller
I watched the birthday video Kanye put together of Kim and her dad, and sisters.
The cuts were heartbreaking and funny. Those girls were blessed with love. Robert Kardashian was the balance in the family. The nurturer. His death changed everything.
