Queen of her own cosmetic empire and duck face selfie enthusiast Kylie Jenner has a bone to pick with companies manufacturing knockoffs of her inexplicably popular Lip Kits. Fans of her products have reached out to her regarding the safety of the products, to which Kylie has accused some manufacturers of using glue, gasoline and products that “smell like paint” which are allegedly causing injuries to users.
While most companies send out a press release regarding this issue, Kylie took to social media to spread the word and clear up any confusion between the fakes and her line. On videos posted to Snapchat, Kylie warned, “The ingredients that they’re using in these fake products are really, really dangerous, which is my biggest concern. It’s fake and dangerous, and it’s the same price, so I don’t even see the point.”
Kylie also warned her fans against buying from fake websites, saying, “I want to be really, really clear that the only place to get my products is KylieCosmetics.com, and anywhere else is fake. Make sure you guys check the URL.” She called out one of the fake sites in question, kyliecosmeticsoutlet.com, which bears more than a striking similarity to her own website.
Of course, this is coming from a girl whose own company received an “F” from the Better Business Bureau – although, in what I can only imagine as a “Cher from Clueless,” she (or, more likely, her “people”) were able to get that grade changed to a “B”.
If that wasn’t enough, the 19-year-old also took to Twitter to commiserate with fans who got ripped off and call out more fake products.
Be careful guys. The links are in my bios https://t.co/IZfvI9ulXU

Wow. It’s bad enough that girls (and some boys too) are spending big bucks to get her overpriced products, but to pay the same price for a poorly-produced knockoff is terrible. However I do question just how “dangerous” these copies are or if they’re just a threat to Kylie’s bottom line. If you want that Kylie Lip Kit look, but don’t have Kardashian-eque amounts of dough to spend, there are some good alternatives…but you didn’t hear that from me.

Funny because her kits are knock offs of the colourpop formula and way more expensive
I’ve tried both and I don’t think hers is a knock off. It’s definitely different. I like colourpop better. I only used Kylies once and gave it away to my teenage niece because it was soooo drying. I felt like I couldn’t move my mouth.
I like her lip glosses better than her lip sticks. Her lipsticks are extremely drying even if put lip balm on underneath before. I heard her eye shadow is really good tho
They aren’t knock-offs of Colourpop. They’re manufactured by the same company that owns and makes Colourpop, that company also makes many L’Oreal products among others. That’s just how cosmetics production works, very, very few brands have their own factories exclusively making their products. Even the biggest brands out-source many lines.
The formulas are not the same. They share many ingredients (as do dozens of other liquid lipsticks, there’s only so many ways to make them), but the ratio’s and quality differs. Colourpop’s formula is much more prone to separating and staining and is harsher on the lips.
Thanks for the info Kylie.
And yet most users feel Colourpop is better.
To Velourazure…OMG thanks for the laugh..point on!!!
Did I say I liked Kylie’s product anywhere? It’s better than Colourpop’s formula (which, along with their blush and bronzer is their worst reviewed product, try the Ultra Satins instead) but KVD, Jeffree Star, Makeup Monsters and Jouer are significantly better, and Armani and Hourglass are in a whole different league altogether.
It’s just frustrating to see these silly conspiracy theories about Kylie’s products because people don’t understand how cosmetic products are actually made. Accusing her of sticking her name on Colourpop formula’s is like accusing one bakery of ripping of another’s chocolate brownie recipe because all that’s different is the number of eggs and the brand of chocolate they use. There’s only so many ways to make a brownie.
I love how she’s calling something fake. Let her look in the mirror first, and admit how fake she is, and then she can talk. I don’t think there is one thing real on this girl.
haha, agreed. it’s so weird to me that she’s basically a clone of Kim and they have different fathers. She’s trying SO hard to be Kim 2.0 without the same genetic material.
I am amaze of the amount of liquid plastic under her skin!
She really must hate herself!
They probably make your lips swell up like a rubber boat … oh wait …
I give her credit for telling her fans that there are a lot of fakes out there, and that you don’t know what you’re getting when you buy them, and they’re ripping you off. Sure – it benefits her. But it’s still good for her to make a point of saying – people are dumb.
That being said – they’re overpriced, but I’ve heard decent things about them.
They’re not ripoffs of Colourpop. They’re made in Spatz Laboratories – which has been owned by the Nelson family since 1989. John and Laura Nelson run Colourpop. So it’s not a ripoff – it’s another product line by these people that Kylie collaborates with.
Funny how someone as fake as herself, is calling out something for being fake. How Ironic!
I think they can have some dangers. I ordered a shishado lip stick from China because it was a lot less expensive and I honestly thought I was getting straight from the source so less mark up since the prices are lower In China than the states on CERTAIN cosmetics. When it arrived it had a really abrasive smell, gasoline is actually a decent comparison. I’D bought the real lipstick before so I knew that was ‘off’ I swatches it on my hand and not only would it not wash off easily the residue started to make my skin irritated over the day. I can’t imagine if I had put it on my lips.
So yeah, knock off cosmetics in my opinion can be be harmful to more than just the big companies bottom line.
Shiseido is Japanese though so buying from China wouldn’t be straight from the source. Everything’s cheaper in China because it’s a knock off.
I am still appalled people want to look like her.
LOL, I have to cosign. All I see when I look at this child is tragedy.
I hope I can post this here… Look at the amount of crap on their faces!!! And they pay someone to make them look that way!!!

When you’re living your life for how you look on social media, not even how you look in real life, you have issues. I guess they don’t care that their makeup is terrifying in real life because with the right filter, they can look “flawless”
And still she declined to talk about how she’s a knockoff of Blac Chyna
And her sister Kim.
came here to say that… what is happening? she’s morphing into her? weird…
I’m very amazed with her surgery and make-up in the daylight photo. She looks very different and the Kardashian transformation became fully completed. Erh congrats?
I’m curious what she’ll look like in 10 years. Scared, but curious.
Think, the Cat Lady!
Big Ange.
Let’s all cry for this privileged brat. In two weeks, Trump could be our President and that is what I’m focused on. But we really should say a silent prayer for Kylie, the poor innocent victim.
Fake cosmetics are dangerous. Some are perfectly fine of course, but there’s zero regulation or testing and it’s almost impossible to hold anyone accountable, so you have absolutely no idea what you’re getting, and bad reactions and chemical burns are common enough that no one should risk it.
Most companies talk about this on social media. That’s where the people buying these fakes are, it’s no use sending out press releases to sources people don’t go for for make-up news. People go to Snapchat, Twitter and IG for that.
@Jesie: You are absolutely right.
Several companies warn about fake products on their social media.
But people on here rather laugh about that danger and about Kylie. Let them. And let uneducated people buy fake stuff – it is not our skin which gets damaged.
It’s ALL fake and dangerous when the tweens and teens that she markets this crap to start playing around with plumping up their lips. I wonder what she thinks when she looks in the mirror, that she looks flawless? You know what I see, and I bet many others see? Someone who looks like a freaking mannequin that appears dead in the eyes, and when she speaks it’s even worse.
Anything to make a buck. The K’s are unethical, empty cyphers and she’s the final, inevitable product.
I see someone trying SO hard to usurp Kim…and, given that she has at a minimum 15 years to make it happen, she just. might. succeed.
NYX, Colourpop ,J Starr.ffs, the nude matte lip is everywhere people. Please just go to Walgreens or Sephora and ignore this crap.
Who knew body dysmorphic disorder could spark a cosmetic empire.
2016 has been crazy haha
Lol she didn’t look 19 with dark hair, and she especially doesn’t look 19 with the blond. She should stick to dark colors if she’s still trying to pass her face off as natural.
As for everything else about the kits, “A fool and their money…” and all that.
Exactly. Kinda surprised that people would throw their hard-earned money at these people.
yup !!!!
I don’t thing it’s dangerous. But the quality is probably not the same. I read comment from make-up artist on instagram who use her stuff and they all like her lipstik line. I buy one on ebay (reign). I pay 3$ canadian with the delivery and i really like my product.
Fake and dangerous? Was she talking about the Kardashian sisters and pimpmommager?
Well, I almost hate to stand up for the lipkits because I’m not a Kardashian fan whatsoever (only episode of any of their shows I’ve seen was the one where Caitlin announced her transition which I watched for curiosity sake) BUT I tried a lipkit that a friend of mine had and was very surprised that I really liked it! I ordered two of my own and wear them all the time. I don’t really think they’re that overpriced? $29 for a liner and a lipgloss is definitely in the range of most non-drugstore cosmetics (and even some drugstore ones).
not overpriced .. when u pay USD (usa) .. me from canada, its like 38.00 $$ more 10.00 or 12.00 $$ for the delivery. THIS is expensive at the end for international buyer. If u come from USA no.
Well she IS an expert on what fake is. #FakeMD
OH.My.Gosh. If the caption didnt specify that it was Kylie Jenner I would never have guessed it was her by just looking at the photos. Holysurgeries. Sad all around and she really is trying to go for a blak chyna/kim kardashian look. Is it just me or does this girl seem to be a bit dysfunctional?
She’s fake and dangerous to all the young girls who emulate her!
Kylie is a walking talking indictment of Kris & Bruce/Caitlyn’s lack of parenting.
The only thing that is ‘fake and dangerous’ are her actual lips.
In the photo of her in the orange suit, for a quick second, I thought it was Kim. They are obviously using the same plastic surgeon. Very sad.
Wow these pictures are so photoshopped, she really looked like this here :

Vilification of the competition. How unique.
