For all the times it sucks to live in Los Angeles, there are a few times it’s a blast. Last Friday, a friend who was supposed to be dropping something off sent me a text that read, “Going to be late, blocked by an X-wing on Hollywood Bl.” I thought she was finding a clever way to cover up her general flakiness but no, Hollywood Boulevard was in fact closed off due to the Rogue One premiere at the Pantages Theater. For Saturday’s premiere, star Felicity Jones, above, was dressed in this gorgeous Dior Spring 2017. The dress is pretty breezy for winter but it is California and you can still get away with it. I love the embroidered tulle overlay and the fact that it is fully lined. I would have preferred a softer top than a structured corset but it looks young and fresh on Felicity. Plus her styling is marvelous. Dare I say, she looks like a princess? A new, kick-a—Disney princess, that is. Early buzz is the movie is AMAZEBALLS! Don’t worry about spoilers here because no one is allowed to say anything under threat of The Mouse. So I have no critics reviews to show you but let’s ask Twitter shall we?
The last time I loved a Star Wars movie as much as I loved #RogueOne, it was 1977.

I'll say this about #RogueOne to all the Star Wars: Rebels fans out there … Keep your eyes and ears open. https://t.co/wEAPHfEkxi

Ack! It sounds so good. Honest question – does anyone else think all the bad press in the beginning was some divergent technique to throw people off the plot? I think I might possibly be more excited for this movie than I am for Christmas. Go Jyn!
A few more shots from the premiere – the handsome trio of Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen and Diego Luna
Mads Mikkelsen looking so, so good
Jaime King in a gold and black strapless dress. I love the dress save for the flying birdcage at the bustline.
Rachel Leigh Cook in a very festive jumpsuit – she looks amazing. I like her shoes, just not with this
Constance Zimmer in a deconstructed suit – I love it (she should have had Rachel’s shoes)
Aisha Tyler wearing an okay dress. The shoes are a little cutesy for my taste. I love Aisha but this whole thing is just meh
Ricky Martin and his equally beautiful family
And Anthony Daniels who plays C-3PO

Love Felicity’s dress… does it look just a wee bit too small up top, though?
Aisha Tyler’s shoes are a big fat NO.
I kept thinking the actress in the trailer looked familiar…duh, Felicity Jones. I adore her dress, that is beautiful. I like all the other looks too, though I agree about Aisha’s shoes.
Great feedback AND another Star Wars starring a woman? I’m there.
I am so exited to see this movie!
Jamie King’s dress is amazing. Wow Rachel Leigh Cook and Ricky Martin. Thought it was 2001 for a second. Can’t wait to see this!
Disney doesn’t own the Pantages but the El Capitan on Hollywood. I think the movie was at more than one theater on Hollywood Blvd.
I’m so relieved to see those tweets! I was worried about this one because of the bad press/reshoot rumors. Have to wait until Saturday night to see it. Ugh.
I think every fan was worried, the reshoots sounded major (and I wonder how much they added to the film’s budget for that). I was doubly worried because I do love the actors and really wanted this to be successful for their sakes.
It’s such a relief to know, at the very least, that the movie doesn’t suck. Though I will wait for metacritics and rottentomatoes to weigh in too.
I have not seen any trailer or anything of this in my bid to see the movie unspoiled but I hear Diego Luna will have his own Mexican accent in this ????? That is so so huge for a non english speaker oh my god!! I am already in love with this movie and its cast no way will they let me down
He definitely has his Mexican accent. 🙂 Another character has a Chinese accent. I think it’s fabulous, it’s Star Wars so the easy explanation is they are from planets where people talk like that. It’s fun.
yes, Diego very much has his own accent in the movie 🙂
And I hope it’s not too much of a spoiler to say he looks gorgeous and scruffy and I ship his and Felicity’s characters a little, they look so good together. Diego+English actresses = swoon, always.
I love everything about this post (minus Jamie King). Ricky Martin’s family is beautiful indeed! Rachel Leigh Cook looks amazeballs.
I like Felicity Jones since I saw her in Like Crazy! Bonus for giving us a shot of Diego Luna!!!! 🙂
I’m all about Felicity and Diego for this movie, I was on board anyway the minute I heard she was heading up a Star Wars film but then they gave me bonus Diego?!
Right?! I was not planning on seeing it in the movie theater. But I changed my mind!
Exciting to see that reference to Star Wars: Rebels. My boys got me hooked on that show, and we have all been wondering about any overlap that could happen.
Wow! Everyone here is bang up to the nines! Lovely.
I love Diego Luna! I love that the cast is diverse!
Yeah, I love that the 2010s Star Wars movies are embracing diversity.
Kathy Kennedy seems to have made a very conscious decision to make the cast diverse and have strong female leads. Am glad that they put her in charge of the franchise, she is a very experienced producer.
Oh my god, Diego Luna…that’s all I can manage! I’m going to need Hollywood to cast him in everything. More please!!
The early reaction is amazing, even from critics that were there. I cannot wait!!!
I’m SO EXCITED. Felicity has been my love ever since Like Crazy, and Diego ever since Y Tu Mamá También, and now they’re in STAR WARS even if it’s just for one movie sfjsas;ks;jasdsfhjdklskaa
Also oh yeah, Felicity’s dress. I think she looks lovely, thank goodness for a skirt with actual lining that isn’t one of Raf Simons’ Dior monstrosities (the house has been so much better since bringing in Maria Grazia Chiuri)
Mads can wear the HELL out of a suit!
Pleeeeease give us some Riz Ahmed when you are covering Rogue One. He was looking fine on the red carpet too!
seconding this!
