Caitlyn Jenner ‘has accepted an invitation to Donald Trump’s inauguration’

FFN_FF3FF13_JENNER_C_172017_52275190

At some point last year, I just stopped covering Caitlyn Jenner, especially when it became clear that she was and is an idiot. Regardless of her transition and her newfound liberal friends, Caitlyn is still the rich, privileged, white golfer who votes down-the-line Republican, regardless of how her votes might disenfranchise the marginalized community she is now a part of. Caitlyn first seemed to be more of a Ted Cruz fan, but once Donald Trump got the GOP nomination, she started promoting Trump all over the place. She said Trump “seems to be very much for women” and that he would be “very good for women’s issues.” She also talked sh-t about Hillary Clinton, because of course. Well, good news: Donald Trump is going to have one celebrity as his inauguration: Caitlyn Jenner.

Caitlyn Jenner has accepted an invitation to attend Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20, a source confirms to Us Weekly. The transgender star, who is a conservative Republican and was vocal about her dislike of Hillary Clinton on her E! show I Am Cait, has in the past said she wants to use her celebrity to benefit the LGBTQ community. Jenner, who previously declared she would like to serve as a “trans ambassador” during the 2016 election, has praised the President-elect in the past, stating that the controversial businessman seems “good for women” and “very much behind the LGBT community” during a June 2016 interview with STAT.

Trump’s Vice President-elect Mike Pence has been strongly criticized for aggressively pursuing anti-LGBTQ agenda throughout his political career. Jenner will be one of the few celebrity guests in attendance. As previously reported, the former Apprentice host has had trouble securing a celebrity to perform at his inauguration.

[From Us Weekly]

Yeah, while President Baby Fists just sees Caitlyn as a bigly celebrity guest, my guess is that Mike Pence won’t want to have anything to do with Caitlyn. Unfortunately, she won’t even care, that’s my guess. She’s got blinders on about her political affiliation. I can totally see her as the oblivious person saying sh-t like “I support President Trump because I’m a patriot!” Or some such nonsense.

  1. Clare says:

    Of course she has.

Of all the Kardashian/Jenners, I think she may be the worst.

    • Ramona says:

I never understood why Bruce got so much love. Everytime I saw that show all he did was sulk, bad mouth the kids mum to his own kids and roll his eyes. He made a daily choice to remain married and another set of daily choices to appear on the show, so why he got any audience sympathy was beyond me.

      • Nancy says:

1976 gold medal winner in Men’s Decathlon. That is major and is why she is as wealthy and well known as she is. Guess a whole other generation just knows her as a Kardashian punching bag.

      • Squiggisbig says:

I also don’t understand why she got so much love. And she always seemed like a terrible dad as she more or less abandoned each previous set of kids with each remarriage and never seemed to care/say anything about Kylie dating and financially supporting a pedophile.

      • Clare says:

@Nancy, pretty sure much of the wealth and notoriety comes from being a ‘Kardashian’, rather than a successful athlete.
Also, being a successful athlete doesn’t exclude one from being an utter arsehole, right?

      • Sabrine says:

It is Pence who bothers me the most. It’s unfortunate this transphobic, close minded individual who can’t accept all citizens equally was chosen by Trump to be Vice-President. This is truly unfortunate. As for Caitlyn’s support of Trump, that is her deal, not mine or anyone else’s although I’m sure others would disagree.

      • Nancy says:

True Clare, lots of his $100 million dollar fortune can be attributed to those people. But he was wealthy in his own right before the show from endorsements and public speaking. Also true, being an athlete doesn’t deasshole you! But the man won the decathlon and broke records that made him a hero. Can’t take that away from him, well her now.

      • Lorelai says:

@Sabrine, I think the reason so many of us have issues with her support of Trump is the blatant hypocrisy. How can she say she wants to be a “trans ambassador” and then go on to support someone who chose Pence as a running mate? It’s absurd.

    • LoveIsBlynde says:

Run Caitlyn run- it’s a trap to throw you into conversion therapy!!! Stay away from mike pence and that entire cabinet!!!

  2. minx says:

Once a wealthy privileged white Republican male, always a wealthy privileged white Republican male.

    • Shambles says:

I see what you’re saying here, I really do. But it becomes a little tricky when you’re talking specifically about a transgender person.

      • minx says:

I was referring to her mindset, not her body.

      • Shambles says:

Right, and I understand that. I’m just saying we have to be really careful with word choice when talking about transgender people.

      • MostlyMegan says:

Well, just because she has changed genders physically, doesn’t mean her mindset – that of a man – which she has been for most her life – has changed. Surely the trans community, above all, would defend the statement that your body (male/female OR trans) doesn’t not dictate your mindset.

    • Tris says:

I think Minx was very poignant here. And I totally agree, in all its subtlety. Transitioning genders clearly changes nothing about the assholery of a person.

    • Megan says:

I think Minx makes an honest point. Caitlyn transitioned late in life so all she has ever known is white male privilege. Perhaps in time she will come to see the world differently, but, for now, her mindset is very much her old self.

    • Shambles says:

I, too, agree with the point Minx was making here. I didn’t mean to disparage it. I was simply trying to point out that we have to be really careful how we say things in refenrce to transgender people.

    • Honeybunny says:

I’m guessing you have no money otherwise you wouldn’t see rich as a negative.

    • Kate says:

It’s really not about her past living as a man. She has the same priorities as most wealthy, privileged women. She cares about her money.

It wasn’t just men who voted for Trump, he did just fine with women across the class spectrum.

  3. Trixie says:

God, Caitlyn Jenner is so stupid. How does she not realize that the party she champions literally hates everything about her?

    • velourazure says:

I’ll be interested to see her reaction when she needs to take a wiz in the south and is forcibly removed from the women’s bathroom by the toilet police. Will she call up her good friend Trump to complain?

  4. Sarah says:

Her brain is still that of an old white male.

  5. Jade says:

Melania, Caitlyn…who has the best plastic surgeon? Go!

  6. trollontheloose says:

none of my LGBTQ friends can stand her. no spite nor jealousy.

    • MarcelMarcel says:

I find it super depressing that she’s considered a spokesperson when there’s tons of people with more interesting and nuanced stuff to say. Like I get why she is… fame pre transition translates to fame post transition.

I just hope our society becomes inclusive enough to uplift the voices of trans & non binary from all sorts of backgrounds.

      • trollontheloose says:

agree. Her being a wealthy former white athlete champion with the Kardashian wagon fame helped the transition. My friends have all different background but even though most are fully integrated or few privileges they still have a long way to go. Their battle started from way way way back. some having non supportive families other not having the money to go on therapy before gender assignment, or not being hired because of their looks etc.. they don’t have the flash lights on them. they keep fighting FOR each other. they cry together. they smile together. they fall together. they rise together. they get depressed together they love each other.. they fight each other but nothing is taken for granted and they are on edge for this Trump presidency. They get to read all about the Trump administration, each more depressing that the next one. One of my friend said “Well i guess we gonna have to roll out our d..ks and keep the pussy away from awhile and just roar.”

    • doofus says:

from what I remember, even her hired trans “friends” (for her show) were disgusted with her.

  7. Alleycat says:

The majority of the republican side made fun of her so bad while she was transitioning. How can she not be aware of that? I really, really dislike Caitlyn. We just went from A list to D list.

  8. Neelyo says:

I hope she’s seated in the nosebleed section and wears heels.

  9. Nancy says:

I’m sure Caitlyn is so honored. Doesn’t she know Pence would like to send her to a camp to be programmed to be “normal.” Such a farce. How can someone be so oblivious to the truth. Sad

    • Jan says:

      Anything for attention, I guess.

    • Radley says:

Maybe the obliviousness is a function of privilege? I mean, privilege can mean that it doesn’t matter what people think of you. You aren’t necessarily impacted by that because you typically have the resources to avoid being impacted negatively.

I’m just spitballing here. Caitlyn baffles me.

      • Kate says:

This is part of the reason she’s become a go to spokesperson. She’s in a different position than most trans people, even well known ones. She got a bit of teflon coating, a lot of hate can just roll right off her. Quite a lot of the opportunities she’s had have opened her up to an enormous amount of hate, more than most people could take, but it doesn’t seem to affect her.

  10. Shambles says:

Goodbye, deleted, done, that is all

  11. grabbyhands says:

    Of course she is.

It would almost be worth it to watch how Trump and his cronies try to deal with the awkwardness of interacting with a high profile person who belongs to a group they absolutely hate and are trying to destroy (one of many).

  12. Melody says:

Hope she doesn’t need to go pee…

  13. Sam says:

    White Male Privilege.

And yes I know she’s a female now but all her life white male privilege is all she’s ever known.

I loathe the Kardashians because I don’t understand why they’re famous but Caitlyn is the absolute worse for legitimate reasons.

  14. Darkladi says:

    Whatever, dumba**.

I hope you enjoy all of the jokes made on your behalf. #caitlynis ridiculous

  15. Greenieweenie says:

I don’t have any respect for these kinds of people. Its like someone who is a product of mainstream culture talking about how countercultural they are. Not only is there a profound lack of self awareness, they pay no price whatsoever for the position they claim. It’s the cheapest claim to an identity. Not sure if that makes sense but you get the drift….

  16. zinjojo says:

It’s time to take action. Caitlyn Jenner maintains her wealth and privilege because she remains in the public eye. Write to the companies that employ her (MAC cosmetics, E entertainment) and BOYCOTT them.

I’ve written to MAC and let them know that no matter how much I like their lipstick and foundation (and I do) I’m not buying another product as long as they’re paying her.

    • aenflex says:

MAC test on animals. And you’re worried about grabbing your wallet in boycott of a trans republican?

      • zinjojo says:

Great, then activate on that issue too, but don’t set up a false equivalency. There are a lot of important issues and many of them are worth our time and effort. Because I want to boycott businesses that support Caitlyn Jenner because she’s a generally terrible person and high-profile Trump supporter, doesn’t mean I don’t care about animal welfare too.

  17. Emma says:

Does she realize Trump cares nothing about her rights? She’s really letting people who aren’t rich and famous who fight for their rights and pride down.

  18. HappyMom says:

    She always looks miserable.

  19. RussianBlueCat says:

I wish the show “I am Cait” was still on the air. Can you imagine the look on the faces of her friends when they found out about the invite? I wonder if Caitlyn even talks to those women anymore, now that the show is over?

  20. Matador says:

    *falls over laughing*

Seriously, this famewhore is the best that Donnie can do for celebrities? Oh, that is gold (no pun intended today).

  21. Embee says:

Anyone who says Trump “seems to be very much for women”or “very good for women’s issues” is NOT the woman they claim to be. Bruce would not see Trump this way if he was a real woman who would understand the effects of losing womens rights would have.

  22. aenflex says:

I guess I’m in the minority here, but I think she has the right to support whichever political party she chooses. Sure, there will be reproach, but whatever. Gender identity and political preference are two very different things.
She has as much right to be be republican as she does trans. Yeah, there’s a paradox. But it’s her life. I don’t recall her asking to represent the trans community wholly.

    • CItyHeat says:

Not alone, I agree. She unabashedly affirms her priorities as economic first over social. I believe (not sure) she also has affirmed her second priority as a strong US first foreign policy, I remember her saying something to the effect that the social issues become immaterial if the first 2 meltdown.

THATS her opinion. THATs her right. Others can (do and will) disagree. But her political beliefs are founded on multiple issues, not the sole issue of bing transgendered.

Others mileage varies. But she does indee get to,choose for herself and she owes no one a vote on any singular issue that others choose on her behalf.

    • Greenieweenie says:

Welp, she’s benefitted greatly from the work that the LGBTQ community has done for her in making it possible for her to come out as transgender and have her operations with virtually zero shame or professional repercussions. She wasn’t out participating in that work as a male, was she? And rather than put in for lost time and contribute now, she’s just going to go ahead and keep on putting her time and energy into the political party that insists she uses the men’s bathroom (except SHE won’t. She won’t have any bathroom issues when she shows up to support the GOP. It’s just all the other people in that community who will). So, there’s that.

      Leech on society.

  23. Izzy says:

Idiot. I hope Pence disses her publicly so she finally understands how much her party and it’s top representatives truly loathe her because of who she is.

  24. Pandy says:

Well, I don’t accept Caitlyn’s “authority” on what will be good for women.

  25. Betsy says:

I usually try to keep quiet on this person on the various beauty sites that report on her MAC collection because I usually don’t have time and inclination while iPad typing to explain that I support the trans community (the whole LGBTQ community, actually) but have zero effs to give for this particular person, but you really nailed it.

I sincerely hope this person attends the possible events of the 20th with this person’s security team as that is not the crowd that will be friendly. Yet more privilege! Most trans men and women don’t get to surround themselves with a bubble of security and fame.

  26. Velvet Elvis says:

It blows my mind how ANY lgbt person can vote for the party that is actively trying to create laws to take away their rights. I can’t imagine any other political position being more important that would compell me vote against my own interests.

  27. Radley says:

Caitlyn definitely isn’t a girl’s girl. She’s the girl who sells all the other girls out to stay in good with the guys. Girl, bye.

  28. holly hobby says:

Somehow, I read the last sentence as “I’m a parrot” instead of “patriot.” Well C is a parrot all right. By the way, she should stop messing with her face. It’s starting to look plastic.

  29. tw says:

Agree with everything you wrote about her!

  30. Kori says:

I get whatever one is saying and agree especially the white male privilege experience (past) and still mindset (current). But as a hypothetical if a member of the trans community never has access to trump, et al, how can any activism be done? I know she stinks as a rep but she is at least trans. Could she not have some effect? He’s certainly not meeting with anyone else. And is it just because of Trump or would it also be Rubio or Bush or Kasich if they’d won?

  31. Anare says:

Caitlyn Jenner is a phony. All she cares about is publicity. All those years hanging around the Kardashian koven, what do you expect.

  32. Kate says:

She’s an idiot, but man, I hope she gets photographed with Pence. She’s probably going to be the biggest celebrity there, and it’s going to be hard for him to justify using her like that while holding the views his does.
