Harry Styles, 23, is secretly dating 27-year-old ‘food blogger’ Tess Ward

Jimmy Fallon with musical guest Harry Styles hosts the 42nd season episode 14 NBC's 'Saturday Night Live'

I’ve said this many times, but if I was 12 years old right at this moment in pop culture, I would be SO into Harry Styles. I think I would probably be into Zayn Malik too, but Harry’s new solo career would make my life. As it is, I am a 30-something woman and I feel guilty about my interest in Harry Styles. To be fair, I think Harry welcomes my demographic. His solo album isn’t just about retaining One Direction fans – he’s trying to branch out and get fans of all ages. So… don’t get too creepy when you’re watching Harry’s music video for “Sign of the Times.” Here you go:

It’s good, right? It’s not an explosion of color. It doesn’t look like it’s aimed at tweens. And yes, he looks really cute here. Sigh…

Meanwhile, Harry has a new girlfriend. He was photographed with celebrity chef/food blogger Tess Ward this weekend (you can see the photos here). She’s four years older than Harry, 27 years old to his 23. That’s not bad.

Harry Styles is secretly dating food blogger and model Tess Ward, The Sun’s Bizarre column can reveal. The former One Direction star, 23, has enjoyed a string of dates with the London-based chef – after being introduced by mutual friends. And pals close to the singer say unlike his other flings Harry is really taken by Tess, 27, known for her Naked Diet cookbook, and believe they’re set for a long-term relationship.

A source said: “As soon as Harry met Tess there was an instant spark between them. They really bonded over their mutual love of quirky fashion and food – and things turned romantic quickly. They’ve been on a number of dates while Harry has been in London and he’s already introduced Tess to some of his close friends including his personal stylist Lou Teasdale. This really seems different to Harry’s past relationships as Harry genuinely is besotted with Tess and doesn’t want to risk messing this one up.”

Tess, has been dubbed “cooking’s new golden girl” by fans – after releasing her first book The Naked Diet in 2015 after being trained by top chefs in The Ritz and River Cottage. She is also a model and well known on the fashion circuit having worked with former Made in Chelsea stars Millie Mackintosh and Rosie Fortescue, as well as Simon Le Bon’s model daughter Amber Le Bon.

I’m including some photos of Tess below. When I was looking through the photos of her, I noticed something weird. Every time she’s being photographed, she tilts her head to her left. My dog used to do that too. As for this romance… it sounds okay. I don’t really believe that this is The One and that they’re super-serious or anything. I think Harry is going to be traveling throughout the year to promote his album and this relationship will probably peter out. That being said… I like the idea of it. I like the idea of a pop star dating a food blogger/celebrity chef. I watch a lot of cooking shows and I would date most celebrity chefs based only on the fact that they enjoy cooking and won’t shame me for liking butter and salt.

I’m only here to comment that 1 syllable first names paired with 1 syllable last names irk me. I can’t really explain why, but they just do.

    • Giggs says:

LOLOL. Never thought about that but now I won’t be able to ‘unhear’ it.

I’m here for the dog reference. I honestly laughed out loud because mine do that too!!

    • Valois says:

Because in English, there’s a strong preference for alternating stressed and unstressed syllables.
John Smith vs Johnny Smith and gold and silver vs silver and gold for example. Statistically speaking, most people prefer the latter one and most parents (to be) who think about a name that works with their last name pay attention to the stress pattern even though they might not even notice it. Also, people sometimes retract the stress on a word just to avoid stressed + stressed syllables. So you’re definitely not the only one : )

    • Kitten says:

Haha, my last name is one syllable and all through my life through college I used the shortened form of my first name which is also one syllable. And I agree, it irks me to hear such a short, staccato name. In fact, all my friends spontaneously started calling me by my full name (FirstnameLastname) even when greeting me in person as a kind of joke.

Since I went to grad school, I’ve consciously used my full first name which has two syllables. It’s not only more professional, it just *sounds* better to me. But my older friends can’t get used to it.

  2. Slowsnow says:

Oh no, Ward is one of those “clean eating” b+*^es that plague the UK right now. Our own homegrown Goops if you will.

    • littlemissnaughty says:

She’s doing it wrong then. She has meat and cheese on her website (I had to check, never heard of her). The rest of them would bury her under quinoa if she claimed she cooks “clean”. I also appreciate blog posts like “Is our coconut oil obsession harming the planet?”. I mean that’s a great question.

I know what you mean though. The bloggers and their books. I bought that Deliciously Ella one and it’s … not great. I like to eat mostly plant based (don’t take away my cheese forever though, I’ll cut you) and was just in search of a bit of inspiration but there was one salad that was so gross, I almost wrote her an angry email. The rest of it was just boring (I don’t need a book to tell me that beet roots and rocket make a good salad. WTF? And if ONE more person tells me to use medjool dates instead of refined sugar … no.

Sorry. That got me kind of riled up.

      • slowsnow says:

        @littlemissnaughty
Ha, a fellow green eater. I am – apart from a cheese peccadillo here and there – vegan. Therefore, I was also interested in these bloggers at first only to find, like you, that they are mostly shoving us the salads I make when in a hurry in their blogs as if they are a big discovery.
They all have different schools – some have dairy, meat, nuts, no nuts, cereal no cereal – in order to make up a brand and are prone to quoting very strange scientific “facts” like the alkaline based diet.
Now they are asking those questions because the press has been on top of things and challenges their asinine statements so they have to be up to speed.
They are all very posh and all went to the same school – a sort of three week course (too lazy to google it). And they all have had some strange disease that they cured with “clean eating”.
Don’t get me wrong, I am a firm believer in reducing or cancelling dairy products and turning our backs on the beef industry, reducing protein intake etc. But I am not a fanatic (2 of my 4 kids eat meat) and I believe even more in common sense and an open mind. What I don’t like is people hiding eating disorders or a weight loss diet behind these silly agendas.

      • ichsi says:

        I <3 you.

      • Kitten says:

Clean eaters totally eat meat and cheese. That’s where the whole grass-fed milk cheese and grass-fed beef craze is coming from.

      • mnb says:

No, it comes from the fact that the truth about what animals go through so people can get “their” cheese is harher and harder to avoid, so they need something to soothe their guilty conscience. Whether they ate grass or not, those cows were still raped and had their newborn babies taken away so you can have “your” dairy products. Wouldn’t want a calf drinking YOUR milk, would we? (Google: milk comes from a grieving mother for more info)

  3. Miss Grace Jones says:

The song sounds exactly like another song I’ve heard before but can’t recall the name of and just makes me want to go find that song. That’s all I’ve got.

  4. KB says:

I like this for two reasons: 1) she’s not Kendall Jenner, 2) more photos and gossip coverage of Harry for me to perv on

  5. Jenna says:

That video is hilarious especially the bit where he’s awkwardly flying or walking on water or whatever that’s supposed to be! 😂 He’s so pretentious and takes himself so serious it’s kinda amazing.

  6. YepIsaidit says:

LoL his video sucks and that struggle stache is ridiculous. He must be so jealous of zayns ability to grow thick facial hair. Poor Harry is like beiber when it comes to facial hair 😂

His new music is rip offs of older better music.

  7. Hannah says:

If you were 12 years old i doubt you would be into his music. 12 year olds dont tend to listen music that sounds like 70s pastiche.I think hes trying too hard tbh, the song is too long and repetetive and the vid is unintentially hilarious.
Funny how he always gets papped with a new girl whenever he has something to promote. His management needs some new ideas on how to promote him.

  8. mar_time says:

Or she’s another beard roll out as a new album comes out…you can believe what you want but Harry’s always linked to someone when they release new music, this is no different

    • Tiffany says:

Eh, I don’t buy the beard theory when it comes to Styles. He has spoken about it about it and can give zero f*cks if people think he is gay.

  9. Who ARE These People? says:

I knew it was serious when my husband introduced me to his personal stylist, too.

  10. Bria says:

I don’t understand why people don’t like SOTT video…I love it! It’s simple, the scenery/landscapes are beautiful and more importantly, you can tell Harry is happy and having fun. All the craziness that was 1D, he’s finally able to “get away” from it all and do his own thing. The song takes you away and so does the video. It’s perfect.

  11. Sanna says:

I watched him on SNL and today show. He really can’t sing live for s**t. Offkey and flat as eff. The hype around him is ridiculous- he’s throurougly mediocre artist.

    • MB says:

      You’re kidding right?
I thought he was great on SNL. Cant speak to the Today show performance, but he was amazing on Graham Norton.

  12. Cortney says:

He comes across as respectful, kind, humble, and genuine, whether it be in interviews, fan interactions, etc. I really like the way he conducts himself, so for those reasons alone, I wouldn’t say a bad word about this young man. Everyone has their own “flavor,” so while his music, style, or his appearance may not appeal to some, surely as a person he should. I’d like to see more people with his characteristics covered in the media over many others i see.

  13. detritus says:

Excellent. Further proof that my love for Harry is meant to be, as he is progressively dating older on his way to the mature pinnacle of womanhood that I most obviously am.

  14. Sarah says:

I thought when he picked Jeff Azoff, who he’s been friends with for years, to save him from the incompetency of Modest Management, the same old promo techniques would stop. Looks like I was wrong.

Liam’s got new music coming out – next week, it looks like. I’m looking forward to that.

  15. Erica_V says:

It’s embarrassing how much I play this song on repeat. I miss having an iPod that counted your listens I really wonder how many times I’ve heard it and I’m still obsessed.

  16. Bethany says:

I like Harry – he’s adorable – cute, witty and down to earth. But his singing ability is no where close to that of Zayn nor does he have Zayn’s sex appeal. So I am definitely Team Zayn.

  17. diane says:

I also love the new music! Not sure if they are dating or just hanging out and having fun, but she seems harmless enough. Certainly a step in a better direction…lol than his past girlfriends.

  18. Anna says:

Wow. How sad that people seem amazed that he’s dating someone *gasp* 3-4 years older than him. That’s nothing . He’ll probably become predictable when he’s 40. Ew.
