I didn’t realize this until recently, but it seems like I’m not the only person who generally feels a sense of something “off” between Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander. I’ve never really bought into their grand romance, although I’ve mostly let it go at this point – they are still together, last time anyone checked, and there doesn’t seem to be any ulterior motive behind their relationship at this point. I mean, The Light Between Oceans came and went. They promoted it. It bombed. Everybody moved on. And Alicia and Michael are still hanging in there. But Blind Gossip would have you believe all kinds of things. Hm…
In any case, both Star Magazine and the National Enquirer would have you believe that Alicia and Fassy are going to get married. ORLY??

I don’t think Fassy is strictly no-marriage EVER, I just don’t think he has any desire to get married at this moment, to Alicia or anyone else. Interestingly enough, Gossip Cop spoke to a “source close to Fassbender” who says Fassy and Vikander are not planning to get married on New Year’s (which is what the Enquirer claimed). I don’t know… I miss the Old Fassy. I miss the guy who looked like he could bang his way through most of Europe and America. He just seems so neutered with Vikander. Who knows?

Tomb Raider is coming, a more aggressive promotion is on the horizon. They are going to play this card, squeeze every little PR juice from this union. Then, he doesn’t like to live in the US, he loves Europe he said it so many times, so did A, they just don’t seem the LA type. So this clearly shows the gossip is fake.

Booking work is not a sign that someone doesn’t have a drug problem. Tons of actors who have struggled with drugs continue to work. Matthew Perry, for example, continued to work on friends and booked movies on the side while he was addicted to pain killers.

Well those not based on nothing( i don’t say they’re true, but they’re based on facts ). She admitted to have been addicted to painkillers when she was in Ballet school. She said she and the other girl would always share painkillers, because they all were addicted. They all were in constant pain. And as she said that she has a lifelong-and painful- back condition because of an injury she got there.. It’s very clear to see how people would assume she still use painkillers.

Her drug & drinking problems have affected how she works, particularly on Tomb Raider. People who work on movie sets always talk if there’s drama (no matter how top secret a movie is), so these rumors aren’t just coming from blinds.
Fassbender is a big partier too, though, I guess it’s not talked about as much because he’s able to reign it in when he works.
If the film was a month beyond schedule there would be real info from industry gossip and not blind items.

Concerning the substance problem, i remember an interview where she said she used to be “addicted” to painkillers when she was at Ballet School, because she was constantly in pain, like all the other ballerinas.
And when she was there, she hurt her back, which she said never recovered. So she still suffers from this back injury.
It’s no wonder that rumours about her having a substance abuse would emerge ( or that when a blind item refers to an actress being addicted to” pills “, people would point to her). If that’s true , that’s pretty sad!

What’s more, Alicia is one of the loveliest actresses I’ve had the privilege of working with, while we were in South Africa and in London. I have a friend who was on set on Tomb Raider for a little bit in London last month and she said similar things to what Gina said. She said she had heard rumours about Alicia, and was pleasantly surprised that none of them appeared to be true.

The thing about her interview is that it’s a vicious circle. When that interview makes the rounds on tumblr and it’s used to fabricate stories, it suddenly appears a blind about the pills addiction and those exact same stories. That interview is used as a proof.

I don’t believe the marriage rumor but I do believe they are a stable couple going on 2 years together. IDK, I feel like Fassy and Ryan Gosling fans are similar in that they don’t buy both men’s current relationships because both women are different ethnically from their prior girlfriends. It’s more common than most realize for tabloids to give a star’s people a heads up before they publish a story. Sometimes they are fishing for a quote to add to it; sometimes they are able to negotiate a trade (kill this story in exchange for this exclusive, etc.), and sometimes they are just making sure they won’t get sued. Crazy I know, but standard practice. That’s why Gossip Cop tends to have denials up super-fast. The stars know it’s coming.
They’re in the “married every week” stage of gossip. If they marry it will be “pregnant every week” stage, followed by “impending divorce every week”. This is why tabloids are struggling, we all know this tune!
That’s because it’s all a game. Gossip Cop denied their breakup back in 2015 when US Weekly ran the story and did a couple denials last year as well, but let slide some other stories, namely the stories that they would break up after their movie promotion was over. They didn’t run any other denials until she showed up solo at the Oscars and lesser blogs (never heard of them & basically copy pasted each other) started questioning whether it was over.

Sorry, but tabloids have more credibility than blind gossip. Nearly everything I ever read on Blind Gossip was first on tumblr. I don’t see that any credible source. Her publicist isn’t as powerful that he could keep people from talking if there was something legitimately wrong with her. If the production had a problem with her we’d know about it, because there would be talk about her being demanding or difficult or delaying the production. Official on industry sites, not on Blind Gossip.

She’s gaining his name next to her in every article (sorry, but she can’t stand on her own, even after the Oscar), photo ops with him when exposure is needed for a new production (people love to read about couples/engagements/breakups etc etc), he’s gaining reputation as a steady and serious boyfriend (as opposed to party animal and womanizer) . Not to mention he may be gaining less obvious advantages we don’t know about (re his production company). There is plenty to gain on both sides, if you’re willing to pose for photos once in a while. I never thought he was in a fake relationship before, btw, but PR couples are very common in HW, some of them go on for years.

1. This story is absolutely a deflection, it doesn’t matter if 99% of BG is bs, some stories have been true and the fact that the rumour is out there doesn’t help. I remember this movie started filming in January and was apparently supposed to move to London in April to do the final month, I don’t care for her or it so I don’t know if it’s still filming. Films have hundreds of people working on them, so if there is something wrong I’m sure there is someone out there not so quietly bitching about.
2. If she had addiction problems back in ballet school and hurt herself training or doing a stunt it isn’t crazy to think she would fall back on her old pain management routine.

The last blind even came out after this story. Their publicist would have also found a more credible story,as you’ve explained. I’ve read the interview where she talks about her ballet days and she has never said that she had real addiction problems. The thing about her interview is that it’s a vicious circle. It’s not even up for discussion that every blind about them or her looks copy-pasted from stans’ blogs.
I could have sworn I read a couple months after her Oscar win that they had broken up. I assumed they have been broken up all of this time . Especially, since she is basically taking every acting role away from Felicity Jones, Emily Blunt, Carey Mulligan, Noomie Rapace and working on the unnecessary reboot of Tomb Raider which will be wooden like her acting!

Forget gossips…do you really think she looks healthy and happy? even in those TR’s set pictures she looks terrible, she looked unhealthy at oscar´s weekend events, always bitter (mostly when she is near him). The rumors and the delay from TR (6 months shooting and is still) set are on internet, she is lucky to not be so famous enought because the scandal will be terrible (like Lindsay Lohan/RDJ years ago). MF turned in some boring old guy, i know his people (AV and MF share the same PR team, PR Premier in UK) is trying to sell him like a stable serious man but that is playing against him: flops lately, boring image (he needs to change his stilyst team asap) and he lost a lot of fans (Well, CB is one of them). There are a lot of better looking, great and with a interesting personality actors out there to keep waiting for the old Fassy.

Yes, there is something off, they look miserable together, like they hate each other, they are actors you will think they can pretent to like each other. Remember, The Light Between Oceans (I hate the movie and the book is just an airport book, too cheesy) was release last may in Japan. We need to wait until this fall if they are not going to use the showmance to promote Snowman and Submergence. I’ve had severe back pain for most of my life, having been born with spina bifida. I’ve had back surgeries and am in pain every day of my life. Even with all those facts in place, I’ve had some hateful relatives who spin it and claim I’m faking it. How a person “fakes” spina bifida, spondylitis, spondylolisthesis, herniated discs, bones spurs, etc. etc, etc. is beyond me, but it’s taught me how nasty some people can be.
That would be totally cute if they married someday. She’s still kinda young though, but whatever makes them happy.

I should have followed my gut and stayed away too. These 2 have small, but rabid fanbases that constantly go at each other and try to one up each other in “proof”. It’s why I walked away from his fanbase (long time fan, the craziness on both sides killed my lady boner for him, I don’t get her hype) months ago. It’s so stupid and exhausting and you can’t enjoy anything without it turning it into a thing.

So we complain when couples are all over social media, documenting their every move, every poop, and kiss. But then take a couple who’s off the radar, not shoving their relationship in our face, and not humping each other during their promotional rounds, and they’re in a fake relationship? Which is it?
I feel like actors can’t win. And I don’t get the whole: They don’t seem lovey-dovey in paparazzi shots, therefore they must be miserable. One, as people get older, the need / desire for PDA tends to lessen, and I know just for myself, I would probably be less affectionate with a partner if I knew I was being photographed, just because that’s no one’s business.
For all I think most actors like attention, I get that a lot of them – especially more serious actors – don’t want attention drawn to their private lives.

Content is a good word for Fassy. I’ve actually wondered if Fassbender has gotten comfortable with the increased level of fame (many, many actors have talked about how it takes a couple of years to adjust to being a big name) and if, while he still drinks, he’s gotten it under control, both of which would explain his more public mellowness.
You have like 2-3 crazies on LSA going back and forth like mad women and you can’t help but feel sorry for them, like get a life you obviously are miserable.

It’s not how it works in real life. Seriously after reading this crazy thread I understand now how people can believe in pizzagate and fake news. Something based on nothing is being taken as a fact by some. I’m not sure why you’re so surprised that people would defend her, this is the reaction that people have when they saw someone – whoever that person is – getting trash for no reason.

I think the reason the two seem “off” is because I don’t think either of them like the celebrity aspect of being an actor. They look like a normal couple who is confident and comfortable in their relationship without unnecessary or over the top PDA to shill a PR relationship. Having watched her interviews and how she talks about her private life, she seems right up in the partying dept with Fassy so no doubt the two know how to have a good time in their private life. But I do think both are uncomfortable with being celebrities.
They definitely love acting and you can tell they’re passionate about it and work hard but I don’t think they like the red carpet and PR games part of it which is why their public appearances seem cold and off. They did this webcam interview together for The Light Between Oceans and you could tell they were a couple who had a good connection and were very comfortable with each other. But that’s probably because it was in a hotel room without a red carpet and cameras going off. Just because you’re an actor and enjoy it doesn’t mean you’re necessarily into the glamor or celeb part of it.

I’ve always found it funny when people claim that actors’ relationships must be fake because the don’t look “passionate” or “in love” enough on the red carpet. They are professional actors, so if their goal was to act like they were in love for publicity, wouldn’t they be making it more obvious?
I know it must be different for different people, but to me it seems more strange when a couple are giving each other with heart eyes and looking comfortable while 20+ cameras are probably blinding them and photographers are screaming their names.
I’m not really skeptical of his relationship with her, in the sense that she’s pretty, talented and successful. In every respect, she seems well-suited to him.
The only thing that has made me skeptical is that he’s always seemed like he’s into women of colour (not the ones with a spray tan). Physically, she doesn’t seem like his type. When he didn’t seem to respond to any of Charlize Theron’s flirtatious advances, I figured fair (or, to be more blunt, white) women were not his type AT ALL, since I’m pretty sure Charlize Theron would be every other white man’s type, even those “deep” types that claim to love only a woman’s mind.
Addiction issues or whatever else had never occurred to me. I think it was simply the Charlize Theron thing that made me wonder if he actually had an attraction to white women, especially given his reputation as a womanizer who has no qualms about sleeping with any woman. I mean, I figure if you’re a guy who has a reputation for being willing to sleep with anyone, I figure you’d want to sleep with Charlize Theron.
More than half of my ex-boyfriends have dated women of color many times prior to me. I am a fair skinned half Italian (but I am also of swedish and danish background as well). I think sometimes men have a type regarding personality and he probably is similar as well. Just from my own experience.
I can see how it could throw people off. I am not my ex husband’s type in almost every category. I am tall, he usually liked short, I am fair to the point I was a tow head as a child, he likes dark, he likes older than me etc. Sometimes the fact that you don’t fit type is what attracts them. Plus she isn’t pale or anything.
I just say that is strange for a dirt sh*t magazine like Star to come put with POSITIVE gossip and the wording of their article is weird to say the least. I think is PR planted.
