Donald Trump wonders why Obama didn’t do anything ‘if’ Russia hacked us

President Trump Cuba policy speech

I believe, quite strongly, that Donald Trump tweets when he’s trying to take his morning dump. Just imagine his baby-carrot fingers on his unsecure cell phone, as he strains on his gold-plated toilet in the White House residence. Usually, Trump’s tweet-storms happen early in the morning, but today’s tweets came a little bit later. Was he constipated after his two scoops of ice cream? Or did his staff put him in front of the TV and just hope to get through the day without some huge catastrophe? We’ll never know. But here’s what Bigly’s itchy Twitter fingers were up to this morning:

True story: the current FBI investigation into Russia’s hack of the DNC – and likely the RNC too – began in 2016. The FBI and assorted intelligence agencies were already conducting their own investigations during the Obama administration. Obama was briefed on the intelligence and the FBI investigations throughout the tailend of his final year in office. The ongoing investigations were a big part of why Obama kicked out Russian spies/operatives in America, why Obama’s sanctions against Russian oligarchs’ money and businesses continued. Which is why it was so f–king suspicious that Russian operatives kept meeting with Trump’s people during the transition and during the campaign, a fact which was also being investigated and is still being investigated, despite Bigly’s attempts to shut it down by firing James Comey.

Also: the “if” in Trump’s tweet… he still doesn’t believe that Russia interfered. Seventeen intelligence agencies have said Russia interfered. Also: how funny is that Bigly has actually been having a relatively gaffe-free week (for him) and he immediately has to f–k it all up by tweeting some sh-t about Russia?

Bigly also tweeted this:

Here’s a good summary of what Jeh Johnson actually said, and his warning that Russia will continue to target the United States.

Here’s a reminder of what was happening last year, on Obama’s watch:

This creep is crazy! Last night at his campaign rally, seeing the people cheering for him was disgusting and shameful. When he said he only wanted rich people in his cabinet and people started clapping, it made me wonder if these were the same people who believed Trump wanted to “drain the swamp.”
Time for Trump to get off of his gold toilet and take things seriously

    • Megan says:

He is becoming more deranged by the day. I feel like we are trapped in a Shakespeare tragedy.

“When he said he only wanted rich people in his cabinet and people started clapping”

      ??????????????????????????

Who was in this audience? Why do people support such insanity? How can their brains withstand the constant assault of cognitive dissonance? I don’t get it. I don’t understand. Someone give me a walkthrough.

      • Tate says:

There is no reasonable explanation. This is insanity.

      • doofus says:

        party over country.

hatred of the “other” and all they stand for, even if what the “other” stands for would help them and make their lives better. hatred stoked by years upon years of lies and distortions from places like Fox “news”. hatred of people who look different from them.

Iowans. But not the good ones, the Steve King Iowans.

I’ll be in Iowa in a few weeks to meet the BF’s family. I’m bringing my anti-Trump t shirts with me just to troll a bit 😉

They think they will become wealthy by diffusion.

Again, watch Burton’s Batman and the scene where Nicholson’s Joker rains money down on the citizens of Gotham right before gassing the f*ck out of them.

That is Trump-supporters in a nutshell.

      • adastraperaspera says:

        You’re spot on.

      • PunkyMomma says:

Perfect reference. Unfortunately, if one were to buy advert time in Trumploonyland, and put that Batman clip on the air on an infinite loop, their brains would only register the cash falling from the heavens.

The Trumploonians are honored to go down with their leader. They’ve totally bought into the lunacy.

      • Vernie says:

@Kitten: Iowa native here. Tell your BF you want to visit Raygun, a t-shirt and gift store that makes the best Trump-trolling merch I’ve seen anywhere. They have multiple locations. I wore their shirt with a drawing of a uterus and the caption “GET YOUR OWN. THEN TELL IT WHAT TO DO.” shirt to the Women’s March in DC post-inauguration. Happy travels!

    • SusanneToo says:

Those people at his rally are a lost cause. Completely irredeemable, imo. Look at those 20 something women positioned behind him grinning like loons. Pathetic. I get sick of hearing accusations that people my age(70+)put him in office. No, there are plenty of millennials and gen-xers and tail end boomers(50-55)who have drunk deep of the kool-aid. That’s his 30% unwavering, follow him over a cliff base. I’m a bleeding heart at my core, but I really don’t want to feel for them when his policies gut them.

      • third ginger says:

You are so right. At this latest unspeakable rally, there are three young women in the background, all wearing MAGA hats. One is chewing gum as if it were cud. The other two are texting. Just a little comic relief.

I stick with my point that one of the hardest things for people to do is admit they made a terrible mistake.

    • Honey says:

Always seeing his supporters who after all his mess ups still cheering for him really pisses me off. These are the people who only hear what they want or only support him because he’s a Republican. Sad

    • jwoolman says:

Guess all those “poor economists” will be surprised. I assume Trump’s definition of poor is income under $1 million per year. Sorry academics. Choosing a teaching job put you out of the running for Trump’s cabinet because you couldn’t possibly know anything about the economy. You’re too poor.

Dear President Tweeter: Being rich is no guarantee of knowing much about the economy except how to stay rich and get richer. Look in the mirror for a good example.

    • jwoolman says:

Trump might be doing what he’s done in smaller gatherings such as his talk to the CIA – seeding the audience with his own people who will start clapping at the right times. This can also start other people clapping even though they are still in “what the…?” mode.

His staff wants to keep the guy happy and hope for a respite from his rages after a rally. They certainly must have thought of doing this to guarantee a happy Trumpy rally.

      • Ashamed 2 b a Fl girl says:

I think the people at his rallies still show up willingly (notice, no rallies in CA, NY, etc. He only goes where he will be welcomed by someone.) But I did think the applause was less hearty when he said “We like poor people, they just shouldn’t make economic decisions” , ’cause they’re poor and all…

Now, it may have been bad audio but the applause seemed, to me, to be faint.

It takes a very awake person to admit they are wrong. By this, I mean, the people who supported/voted for him. However, it can happen. Or, just, yeah, he’s a dick.

    • LaBlah says:

Why is he still having campaign rallies? I mean I get why HE wants to keep having them, because he’s a narcissistic baby who likes being adulated by the shallower end of the gene pool but what is the official reason given. The next election is sadly 3 and half years away so what exactly is he campaigning for?

I’m not American though have always been relatively informed about its politics so maybe this is a common thing for US Presidents that I’ve missed before but I suspect most of them were a little busy with being President to campaign for nothing.

  2. NotSoSocialButterfly says:

    What a f&cking imbecile.

  3. Tiffany says:

Obama did do something about it in the realm of his position as POTUS. He not only did the sanction, he flat out told Putin to knock it off and there is photographic evidence of it. The look on Obama’s face was of one who meant business.

And also, Obama truly believed in the democratic process and in the citizens of America to not vote for this clown. He was right about 65 million of them.

    • jwoolman says:

Obama didn’t say much publicly until after the election. Trump should ask McConnell why. Dear Senator McConnell threatened to vigorously accuse Obama of playing partisan politics to help elect Hillary. How ironic, having to keep quiet about the Russians trying to elect Trump lest you be accused of trying to elect Hillary… At that time, few people thought voters would be dumb enough to elect an incompetent hateful corrupt conman, so he probably hoped it wouldn’t matter.

The FBI stayed quiet because that’s their policy for ongoing investigations. Usually they don’t say anything if a person is cleared, as Hillary was. But her case was already very public and so it made sense to publicly exonerate her. Comey shouldn’t have said some other things last summer, but I don’t think he was trying to help Trump. He’s just a strictly-by-the-book kind of person.

  4. Tate says:

I don’t even know what to say anymore. This idiot is taking down America.

    • Pandy says:

Yes he is. It’s scary. And frightening to watch the support he receives while doing so. Just goes to show how you can distract people with a shiny object. Or circus.

  5. Lightpurple says:

Actually, he made a major gaffe last night saying he is going to impose welfare reforms on immigrants that Bill Clinton actually signed into law 22 years ago with that whole End Welfare as We Know It war on poverty stricken women.

He is trying to divert from the hack with this whole collusion thing. There are multiple parts to this: 1 Russia hacked us 2 Did someone help them? 3 Is someone trying to thwart the investigation into 1 & 2? 1 can exist without 2& 3. 3 can exist without 1 & 3. 2 is the only one that can’t exist on its own. Or there can be any combination of the 3. Trump & his followers want us to only focus on 2 and by ignoring 1, they aren’t stopping it from recurring, which lends credence to 2 and 3.

Obama started the investigations. He warned all involved & McConnell blocked more efforts. Obama also protected evidence so Trump couldn’t destroy it. This is not on Obama. This is Putin and it sure smells like Trump’s team was involved

    • third ginger says:

So accurate. Also, remember the testimony of both Comey and Sessions that underscores the total lack of concern about the Russian attacks on the part of the White House. How in heaven’s name is this picture not clear to any sentient being?

      • Lightpurple says:

I also remember the testimony of Yates and Clapper that not only did they see enough to believe the investigation had to include members of the campaign, transition team, and current administration but they saw enough to believe some current members of Congress should be too.

    • jwoolman says:

The worrisome thing for Trump is that such investigations can lead in other directions. I think they did, in particular to evidence for financial crimes. Maybe just money-laundering, but since Trump’s fortune is all smoke and mirrors — they also might be looking at illegal campaign contributions from the Russians or other foreigners.

Trump kept boasting that he was self-financing, but he actually only loaned money to the campaign and was reimbursed (with interest, I’m sure). He seems cash-poor and never pays if he can get someone else to pay and is extremely chintzy about charitable contributions which he claims to make but rarely does. So any illegal contributions may have occurred very early, maybe even during the primary, to keep him afloat. Even though Russia might not have seen the potential for winning the Presidency at that point, Trump was still quite valuable as a propagandist supporting Putin’s activities.

  6. LMAO says:

Don’t get our outrage unless there is evidence that Russia hacked into voting machines, THe US has interfered in over 100 foreign elections in the last 60 years, Russia knows that too…..they’ve messed in their (un)fair share too during the same time frame, but we’ve done more. We are being hypocritical with all this pearl clutching.

    • HadToChangeMyName says:

The pearl clutching (IMO) is not about the Russian interference, it’s at the possibility that a sitting president/his team may have helped them interfere. That, to me, is the scary part – that they’d want to win so badly that they would put the country at risk to do so.

      • LMAO says:

So far the evidence doesn’t prove this. Anonymous sources and innuendo don’t equal a needed burden of proof. Of course there’s more to come, And If the Mueller investigation finds this, then yes — my grandmas pearls will be in my hands too. I bet the investigation will find things on both sides of aisle that will have us all clutching grandmas pearls. I doubt any one is going to emerge unscathed from this,

      • LMAO says:

ETA. If it is true, we are still hypocrites though, We worked with various regimes to get them in place , to support governmental coups, etc. it’s behavior we’ve engaged in ourselves as a country. Let’s at least acknowledge that.

    • lissanne says:

I personally have not interfered in any elections and have in fact protested US efforts to do so. (Old campus radical here.) So I will clutch my (figurative) pearls all I want.

      • LMAO says:

Good for you. Too bad it didn’t result in anything. The Obama administration alone meddled in Israel, Macedonia, Lybia, Honduras & Egypt elections among several others.

      • SusanneToo says:

Could you please list the sources for your claims? I looked into Obama Admin meddling and, oddly enough, the only outlets I found alleging that were right wingers. I’m perfectly aware of meddling through most of the 20th Century and early 21st Century by both Ds and Rs, but reputable journals like the NYT, WaPo, LA Times don’t include Obama among the most egregious offenders. Names, please?

  7. Scal says:

Both Obama and Biden said after the election (but before the inauguration) that they were aware of the issue, but decided that they would be accused of trying to throw the election to Hilary and influencing the election. That intelligence and decency has come back to bite us for sure.

And as others have said-Obama did everything he could against Russia with sanctions, kicking out operatives etc-just short of coming out directly and saying ‘Russia is doing X”

  8. Fran says:

God, that video is hard to watch. It literally made my heart hurt knowing we could have had Hills as our president but instead have this POS.

  9. anniefannie says:

Can you imagine the outrage if Obama went public with the election rigging in the midst of a national election? Trump would have gone wild w/conspiracy theories that Obama was coordinating w/Putin to throw the election.
I marvel at Obama’s strength in his silence while this Orange baffoon blames him for absolutely everything. I think he draws strength from knowing the inevitable takedown will be epic….

    • HadToChangeMyName says:

All of this. He blames Obama for everything. Newsflash, Orange Idiot, you are president now. You won. Now do some work!

    • Tiffany says:

That is what Toxic Tangerine was banking on. He was looking to start a network to talk about these theories and spread these lies for the almighty dollar.

He continues to under estimate the intelligence of Obama and Clinton. Still to this day.

  10. Honeybadger says:

He had a huge gaffe in Iowa last night. He bashed the wind-energy sector. Iowa leads the nation in wind energy, which generates a third of all energy consumed in the state. You know, because he obviously doesn’t do any background.

    • Vernie says:

Good point. Renewable energy is a booming sector for much of the Midwest. His rally attendees surely knew that.

  11. adastraperaspera says:

He’s so deep into this with Putin that he can’t ever get out. So he’s left just screaming his lies louder. His supporters behave like fans, not citizens. They think this is a big episode of Survivor, and they’re thrilled to kick opponents off the island. Sorry, kids. Just doesn’t work that way. The adults are in the room now, and they’re turning the TV off. He’s going down.

  12. hey-ya says:

…can we have a piece on Ms Conway too….

  13. pinetree13 says:

He’s been tweeting a rampage today! Also he keeps praising fox and retweeting them.

  14. aang says:

I know everyone here loves Obama but I’m not a huge fan for just this reason. I think he was too cautious in many situations and worried too much about his legacy or how he would be perceived instead of worrying about what was best for the country. He was treated terribly but I think he was too afraid of adding fuel to the fire to act. And not just when it came to the Russian hacking.

  15. bree says:

I actually agree with trump on this. Obama was the president, trump was merely a candidate. Obama has access to the fbi and resources to prevent this from happening. He also KNEW it was happening. Im sure he didn’t say anything because EVERYONE whos anyone assumed Hillary would win, and it would make her election look fraudulent. Trump couldn’t have done anything if Russia was interfering in the election, and thus far, there is ZERO proof it affected the outcome anyways.
