Here is Outlander star Sam Heughan on the August cover of Men’s Health South Africa. I haven’t watched Outlander in a while, as I found the whole story to be rather overwrought and silly. But people do seem to like it, and they seem to enjoy Sam in particular. He is hot… in some sort of way. Like, I generally don’t go for men who are “pretty” nor do I go for “beefcake.” Sam is both, but he’s still appealing. He has a sort of vulnerability on-camera. Anyway, there aren’t any interview highlights yet, but Men’s Health also released this video of his workout.
Do straight men really watch these videos or is it just straight women and gay men? I ask myself all the time about Outlander too – like, the viewership is quite particular. Anyway, here’s the trailer for Season 3 of Outlander. Enjoy!

I stopped watching Outlander too and for the same reasons, but he was my favourite actor in it. He really does bring vulnerability to that part.
yeah, I only made it thru the first half of season 1. Sam is pretty good, but better in pictures for me.
I read Outlander the book and hated it, is the series any better?
As for Sam, he’s ginger, he’s got the accent, yet he doesn’t do anything for me. Tobias Menzies however…
I had to stop midway because I found it so bad. And I never give up on books I paid for. I don’t understand the love for it, it was poorly written.
I gave up on Outlander, but he was very good. And Tobias…wow. He was amazing in the episodes I watched.
Also, l wouldn’t kick Sam out of bed for eating crackers…
I gave up on Outlander too. The pretty people could only hold the attention so long in the face of such terrible, terrible writing.
I love Outlander. Love the chemistry between Caitriona and him. Can’t wait for the third season.
I just finished book 4 of the series and I’m getting really bored. Actually, the only reason I started reading it is because I was tired of waiting for the next season.
I got bored of the “no two people have ever loved each other the way Sassanach and Jaime have and no two people have ever had better sex” …
I think Sam is a cutie but I’ve never had a thing for a guy who’s prettier than me. Plus Sam doesn’t swing that way from what I understand.
Tobias on the other hand …
Isn’t he dating Mackenzie Mauzy?
A small group of obsessives on the internet have convinced themselves he is dating her because they are occasionally photographed together. (They are topped by the even smaller group that is convinced it’s a grand bearding scheme, and act like it’s the next coming of Hiddleswift.) I think it’s best to just accept he’s the kind of guy who isn’t going to offer many private details to the public. Which is wise, given that most of the public doesn’t care and those who do seem a bit… overwrought.
I don’t know if your comment is sarcasm, but multiple media outlets put them together pretty often. There are a ton of photgraphs and… what? Are we sure it’s not the other way around? A small group of internet obsessives think he’s gay?
I dont get his appeal. And I mean both the actor and the character. He isnt hot to me and the character is an ass. Am I to be impressed that he is younger and therefore trainable? Plus I didnt get why what she did to her WW2 husband wasnt despicable especially when I feel like she has better chemistry with him. Because his ancestor was a villain? Anyway I couldnt get past season 1. The actress is really good though as is Tobias as always.
I listened to Outlander in the car. It was perfect. I could space out for a bit and come back and not be totally lost. I think that is the best way to consume Outlander. But I will wait a while before I listen to the next book. I need a break from all the sassanach stuff.
Because most of it is them walking and then having sex, then walking again, then having sex again and so on.
He does nothing for me but that is some work on his chest! Impressive.
I don’t know how you would watch Jamie Fraser and feel nothing. Maybe it’s his tousled red hair. I like him. But I actually think Tobias Menzies is dreamy. He’s playing two characters, one kind, one despicable. I didn’t think I was going to like it that much, but I’m hooked now.
My mom tried to get me to read Outlander years ago and I refused so my expectations were pretty low when I watched the series. It behooves me to admit I really enjoyed it, especially the 1st season. What I love most is the chemistry between all the actors (even secondary ones…come one…Rupert and Angus … what is not to like?!). I think Sam does a great job at portraying the character Diana wrote and, holy moly, do I have a soft spot for a ginger with a Scottish accent. It doesn’t hurt that he seems like a pretty nice guy who I wouldn’t mind sharing a Canadian whiskey with.
I haven’t watched since the second season premiere when I realize that I kinda don’t like Claire and that Jamie deserves better
Sam is a beautiful man but far too bland for my taste. Tobias on the other hand…
Literally I couldn’t get past episode 3; I was bored and the sex was so gratuitous as to not even fake it toward the story line. I am debating watching it for my friend, and I loved the books up until they hit North Carolina and decided to farm and grow mold. Sigh. Maybe I will try Stranger Things.
