The knee replacement using cadaver parts is not that uncommon (I don’t think). My Mum just had a major shoulder replacement done and need a piece of bone grafted in during the surgery.
Apparently they just took a piece of bone from the “bone bank” at the hospital and used that. I had never heard of a “bone bank” before her surgery but it worked and her recovery and healing has even surprised the doctor.
Amazing what they can do now. I am due for a knee replacement in a few months and they have mentioned donor bones to me as well. Not looking forward to it all but will be glad when it’s done!
Is there a consent process the body or family of the deceased has to go though to let that happen do you know?
You sign up to be an organ or tissue donor before you die. There are all kinds of specific questions you answer, like whether you want your tissue used for cosmetic purposes.
Yes. While organ donors (or families making the decision) have a choice to select which organs they want to donate, there is also an option to choose something to the effect of “all usable tissues and organs”.

Good luck with your replacement, Juliette! My mother’s had two now. The recovery was a bit of an ordeal, but she’s getting around so much better now and is in waaayyyyyy less pain! Hope yours goes smoothly.

I had three herniated disks in my neck replace with cadaver bones; this was about 25 yrs. ago. They’ve been doing this a long time.

Koch brothers money behind the push for her sentence to be commuted. Trump is getting paid off for this, and Kanye/Kim are most likely having some debts erased as well. He is starting a pardon spree to further muddy the waters and keep the press busy chasing shiny objects when they should be finding out a million other things, like why Ivanka was given Chinese trademarks right before ZTE (a national security threat) sanctions were lifted. The Trumps do nothing for innocent reasons.

If that gets back to Kim, I wouldn’t be surprised if he cancels. That’s quite an insult, and from Donald’s lawyer who spends a lot of time with Trump so it’s not something that can be ignored.
How stupid to think you prepare for a meeting by making such a humiliating remark about the other person from whom you are hoping to get something of value. If that’s what Donald is saying in private, he is likely to let loose with it in public or at the meeting itself. What a maroon.
I doubt that Donald would accept the same insult from Kim, he would be frothing at the mouth on Twitter and would cancel right away. I actually wouldn’t blame him, either. That’s not a good basis for such negotiations, futile though they probably are. Both parties have to at least show each other respect.
Maybe Donald doesn’t want to go and so is hoping Kim says no to the meeting now. So he’s using Giuliani as his attack dog for deniability and hoping Kim will see it as the gross insult that it really is.
