It’s no secret that Sarah Paulson is a big fan of Rihanna. You don’t pee yourself meeting just anyone. At the premiere of Ocean’s 8 in New York on Tuesday, Sarah (in an eye-straining neon green gown) had nothing but good things to say about her co-star, telling US Weekly, “Rihanna is not who you think she’s going to be at first.” She went on to heap praise on her colleague:
“She’s this amazing performer and energy when you see her on stage or screen, but in person, she’s — I would never use the word shy to describe her — but she has a reserved temperament on our set. She was more quiet. She’s also so much fun and totally game for anything and excited to be there, but, very mellow.”
The 30-year-old singer plays a hacker in the movie and, despite her swagger and the “bad girl demeanor”on display when she performs, she’s a completely different person when she’s not in the public eye. Sarah explained:
“She was mellow and cool and excited to be there, but I guess I thought she’d be walking around, strutting around the set and singing and being like that, but she was so mellow. I love me some Rihanna.”
On the red carpet for the premiere, she also shared some love for another co-star, Helena Bonham Carter. When asked by The Hollywood Reporter which of her co-stars she’d want to pull a heist off with, she answered “Helena…because she’s shifty.” She went on to effuse, “I think she’s just a pretty good actress. She’s exquisite. She’s full of total truth and commitment and honesty and spontaneity and aliveness and magic.”
Let’s hope audiences love Ocean’s 8 as much as Sarah loves her co-stars. It certainly seems like they had a lot of fun making it – and talking about it. The movie is currently at a 73% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is estimated to take in between $33 and $40 million at the box office this weekend, edging out Solo for the number one slot. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, I’m still looking forward to seeing it.

I remember some years back when in an interview when Rihanna said she was a bit of a shy person. I was surprised then, but I understand it very well.
Sarah’s dress and the fitting is really stunning( literally, sun shades please!) but I wish it was in a different colour, perhaps deep red or blue or turquoise?
Still love Rihanna’s kooky and ornamental dress.
I’m sorry, but I didn’t need THAT much neon green first thing in the morning. My eyes will need time to recover.
I know everyone loves Sarah P, but she is so extra. Wearing that dress case in point. You don’t see anyone else but her, that color is so horrible yet you can’t look away. Me me me! Suorised she didn’t throw in again that everyone is so mean about her dating someone old enough to be her granny. Sigh.
Now Rihanna, she is just cool.
I am going to see this movie for no other reason than Rihanna.
Saw this movie on Wednesday and it was good! I liked the flow, the music and the acting.
I have read that Ocean’s 8 is saved by Anne Hathaway. That’s a a shame thoug by the best actress Sandra Bullock and tw time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett by the actress everyone hated.. i an so watching Ocens 8.
Rhi-Rhi…always came off to me as someone who understands about balance…you can’t be off the chain 24/7 to have a life worth living and one where everyone don’t want to frag you….and when it comes to acting…Rhi-Rhi…does have “IT”! I can’t wait for her to get a leading role that she can sink her teeth into! And the more I see Sarah in that dress…the MORE I LOVE IT! But then…I’m an 80s Baby…and I will ALWAYS have an infinity for neon!!!!
All I see in my head when I see the two of them together is that picture when Sarah is touching Rih’s dreads in a look of awe and amazement and Rih has that trademark look of done every black girl who’s been in that situation knows 😂
Is it me or did RiRi look really sad here at the red carpet…
I have tickets to see the 8:15 am showing on Saturday morning while the puppy and BF sleep in. I’m very excited!
I love this idea!
Sarah looks DIVINE in her dress. After Mariah Carey, she will be my new girl crush. She was excellent as Cate Blanchett’s ex-lover in Carol, though Rooney Mara disappointed in her performance.
Have just seen the movie and yes it’s worth the ticket , the script was a bit weak and soft peddling , as if the writers didn’t really know what to do with bad arse independent women, there really is no bite to it but it’s worth going to get a birds eye view of what the Met is like inside on that evening.
The clothes were great and the heist was good with a nice twist at the end. I will go to the sequel when they make it as well. Not really a gripping drama or edge of the seat stuff but all round entertaining .
Look for Marlo Thomas and Elizabeth Ashley near the end in fun cameos.
I’m so disappointed to see what everyone wore to the premier. Boo!! I hate every single look.
