I had a sudden, blinding realization yesterday as I watched Donald Trump’s sad little makeshift “press conference” in the White House: Trump, Republicans and assorted Deplorables are counting on people like me to be sick of Trump’s voice, his behavior and his treason to the point of disengagement. They’re hoping that we just opt out for months at a time, unable to even function politically as we’re being assaulted on an hourly basis with their bullsh-t. It actually works, sort of. I seriously can’t even watch the news anymore and I change the channel whenever I hear Trump’s voice. I feel the bile rising up the back of my throat even now, and I’m only *thinking* about his voice.
So I applaud the people who actually can sit there, day after day, and listen to his constant stream of lies. I applaud the people who even bother to transcribe his lies, the people who still go through the mundane task of lining up his contradictory statements, day after mind-numbing day. You are the real heroes. On Monday, during the Treason Summit in Helsinki, Trump told the world’s media (regarding Russian interference): “My people came to me — Dan Coats came to me and some others — they said they think it’s Russia. I have President Putin; he just said it’s not Russia. I will say this: I don’t see any reason why it would be.” On Tuesday, facing widespread condemnation from his own party for his disgraceful and treasonous behavior, Trump said this:
“I have full faith in our intelligence agencies. There is a need for some clarification. It should have been obvious, it ought to have been obvious… In a key sentence in my remarks I said the word “would” instead of ‘wouldn’t.’ … The sentence should’ve been, and I thought it would be maybe a little but unclear on the transcript … ‘I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia.’ Sort of a double negative. You can put that in and I think that probably clarifies things by itself.”
People in the White House really believe that the American people are stupid, huh? Trump staffers watched Trump prostrate himself in front of a foreign adversary over the course of hours and they were like “hey, let’s see if we can get away with explaining all of this as a minor grammatical glitch?” The reason I say that his staffers came up with this is because Trump was just reading off a piece of paper, a paper in which he scrawled the words “THERE WAS NO COLLUSION.” Literally. Although he probably meant “There Wasn’t No Collusion.” Other Trumpian double negatives:
I didn’t not collude with Russia.
I don’t see why I wouldn’t send my son to meet with Russian operatives
I couldn’t not accept shady Russian financing in a complicated scheme to not launder money
I Don’t Not Care, Do U Not 2?
The NRA isn’t not a portal for Russian interference
I can’t say I don’t believe Nazis aren’t very fine people
Also, here’s the context for Trump’s new grammatical copyeditor’s note. Yes, everything he says other than that one sentence is completely fine, nothing to see here, folks!
In light of his, ahem, clarification, I have added the correction to Trump's remarks. I think this settles things, don't you? pic.twitter.com/k3htSitwcs

He can’t be a traitor, he’s wearing a flag pin!
(Republican Excuse of the Day)
Good one!!!! And sadly true.
This has to be a joke. At least he didn’t cry fake news.
Waiting to see how Sarah Huckerbee-Sanders spins this. At this rate there will be no where left for her to eat – not even Maccy D’s.
I’m almost curious how she’s going to try to spin this. She can’t pawn it off with “I’ll ask you to refer to the president’s lawyers.”
Except his “correction” doesn’t make sense in the context of the other things he said about believing Putin and his earlier tweets from the same day. And the dotard looks a little bit stressed delivering this “correction.”
Exactly. He’s trying to defend the indefensible.
He looks like he did the first time he spoke about Charlottesville. Obviously he’s being forced to say this, someone else wrote it, and he doesn’t mean what it says.
This completely. Reminded me of Charlottesville where it felt like there was an invisible gun pointed at the back of his head and he was being forced to recite an apology that someone else clearly wrote.
For someone who was an actor (scripted game show), he is not convincing when someone else pushes him to say something.
@Kitten, I think it was Eugene Robinson who said Trump’s statement yesterday was like watching a hostage video.
Yes, exactly. And there’s also the fact that he had other opportunities before this to clarify his statements, and he didn’t. You don’t make a miscommunication that big and not realize it for 2 days while the whole world freaks out.
Drump also added at the end–again, not in the script–that anyone could have meddled.
At this point even the noisy evangelical interjection “Gawd” seems pointless. Because we know he hates us and loves Putin.
He is so repulsive, scrunched up posture as he read in his first graders’ intonation as if being forced to eat his broccoli.
This morning’s tweet storm claims that anyone upset with what he said wants war with Russia, because , of course, that’s the only other option, and suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome. Yes, he actually tweeted that.
Sounds like he’s threatening a nuclear war because we are being mean to him. Infantile and irrational.
Sorry to be dismissive to his pathetic base and fellow Republicans, but they are not the brightest. They feel the need to include their GPA or other tags such as “Dr.” so that people don’t think they are dumb (much like Ivanka and her hilarious attempts to appear policy savvy and wonky on Twitter). They see these threats as genuinely serious points.
I have seen that Veterans are pulling away from drump. I think there are cracks in his cult of personality.
Yup he tweeted about “TDS” which he knows will excite his insane and unhinged base.
Sigh.
“Sounds like he’s threatening a nuclear war because we are being mean to him.”
and this has been my biggest fear since he was elected. I seriously worry that he’d take his whole grifter family, hide in the presidential bunker to save his sorry azz, and push the button.
@IndianaJoanna, and then you look at their twitter feed and they’ve whined that Obama sealed his college transcripts! He must be hiding something! When anyone who attended college knows that ALL transcripts are sealed by law and there is a process for release that involves consent and that all transcripts show are one’se grades. Because these imbeciles never went to college or, like Nagini, bought their degrees.
Seriously, how can America continue to allow this complete lunatic to remain as President? I know America has very complicated electoral and political systems, compared to where I live, and which I don’t fully understand, but I tell you, some of our leaders have been unceremoniously chucked out for far less than what Dump has done. I’m not being critical, but I am utterly bamboozled. Can ANYTHING be done to end this nightmare once and for all?
Who started that Trump Derangement Syndrome thing? I keep seeing it in posts by pro-Trump trolls who are trying to discredit criticism of Trump. I gather that it does not refer to how deranged Donald Trump is.
Yes, it’s pure BS. After hearing about his “error” all day I finally watched a clip of his little conference and he truly looked like he was under duress as he read the statement. And of course he had to add his little “if could have been others too” ad lib.
I’m still astonished he actually attempted to walk something back. Or, more accurately, that someone forced him to.
And I can’t help but think that the GOP wouldn’t have forced him to walk it back if it wasn’t four months before the midterms. They don’t actually care about the repercussions of his actions beyond losing voted from their constituents.
Exactly ^^
He’s a habitual liar but not a good one.
He’s in over his head with national exposure.
The world watches, our friends sympathize with us.
Disgraceful!!
Changing would to wouldn’t doesn’t even make sense in the context of what he was saying, also his intonation and body language made it clear that he meant exactly what he said. Plus he didn’t say anything about it for 28 hours, no tweets and nothing during two interviews. Conclusion: Liar Liar Pants on Fire.
He also did just what he did after Charlottesville: reluctantly read something his staff forced on him, then negated it with an off the cuff remark. For Charlottesville, it was his infamous “good people on both sides”. Here after forced to read a bit about believing the intelligence people that it was Russia, he blathered on about “could be others, there are a lot of people out there”. Nobody thinks it was “others”, Donald. They know it was Russia.
Plus his new thing is trying to convince people that the hack never happened, that the DNC prevented the FBI from examining “the server” because some mysterious staffer gave the emails to Wikileaks. So now he yammers about “the server, where is the server?”
Trump knows absolutely nothing about computers or servers, just as he knows nothing about email. While he was yammering about Hillary’s missing emails, it never occurred to anybody in the media or on his staff that her emails were unlikely to be “missing”. The FBI has excellent recovery software. I’ve used cheap versions years ago and successfully restored accidentally deleted docs and emails even weeks or months later. Deleting a file just tells the computer it can re-use the space if needed. But even then, enough can be recovered to see what is there (in the old days, we were told we had to overwrite the disk 7 times with random 1s and 0s to make the files unrecoverable: today they say 20-30 times). I’m sure the FBI looked at such recovered files and compared them with what Hillary said they were, and she was telling the truth. The FBI probably doesn’t like to emphasize how good they are at such recovery, better for felons to just delete and think they’re safe.
Actually, in the DNC case there were about 140 servers in the closet, mostly cloud-based. The outfit that manages the servers provided the FBI with everything they wanted. In particular, they gave the FBI digital images of the servers with time stamps – I assume they have automatic full backups (such as many people do with Time Machine) and mirror the servers (as I do with my e-mail). Such frequent snapshots of the whole disk are crucial if your computer hard crashes or your system is corrupted – you can immediately restore everything from a time when everything was working properly.
They had such server images for when hacking was occurring, which meant they could see who, what, when, and wherefrom. If some mysterious staffer stole the emails rather than an outside intruder, that would be obvious from the evidence.
This is very much like Watergate, except the theft was successful and it was updated for the digital age. I don’t know why there are a flurry of people on Twitter etc. trying to claim it’s no big deal because government servers were not attacked. I don’t remember that argument being used to not prosecute the Watergate burglars. Of course, the flurry could be Russian bots. The arrest of the Russian involved with the NRA and the Republicans might be an emergency requiring all hands on deck in Botville. They probably don’t care about the other indictments since they don’t intend to allow extradition. But she was here in the United States.
I cannot watch the news at all. I watch local news and that’s it. Agent Orange is the most vile and he is leading us to destruction. The only thing will save us is US. We have to vote the Republican establishment out of office and regain some semblance of stability. Trump is dangerous, greedy and dumb, a dangerous combination for us all.
His “excuse” made me have a 90s Real World flashback to “IT WASN’T NOT FUNNY!”.
Jenns! Same 😂🙌🏼
So next time I debate someone and they make a point that’s devastating to my argument their point won’t stand because I meant the opposite of what I said. Sounds reasonable, yeah?
You forgot the fact that he had scrawled “colusion’ with one L on that statement. Illiterate bawbag.
I noticed the incorrect spelling too! What a dolt our fearless leader is!!
His scrawl seemed so bratty. And he really needed a written reminder of something he bleats even chance he gets?
The emails, the server….God, I just can’t. I agree, the journalists and activists that hang in there dealing with this every day are amazing, because it is scary and mind-numbing at the same time.
My GOD!
This man is REALLY stupid right?
I’m not American but I remember people making fun of Bush, calling him dumb. I know he was absolutely no angel, but was he ***THIS*** dumb and stupid??? Because even 3rd world countries have awful corrupt presidents, but at least they aren’t dumb as this.
You know I did wonder about that but I think we’re past trying to pretend and trying to be hush hush.
I do believe his back his against the wall and that press conference the other day was an exercize in public humiliation.
The time for secrecy was during the campaign.
Now he is in power. Exactly where Putin wanted him. Putin was gloating. You could feel it behind his dementor-like stoic face.
He wants the world to know and witness that he has indeed upset the world order and that he is the puppet master.
I am not American so I didn’t necessarily felt treason but I did feel bone-chilling fear.
I just LOVE that he was greeted with ridicule, protests and a baby blimp in Britain. The Queen gave him the bum’s rush. The overseas press was relentless. And then he gets home and even (some) Republicans and the Wall Street Journal are howling about the Putin presser. Arnold Schwarzenegger calls him a “little wet noodle fanboy.”
We have to take joy where we can find it.
Watching Trump leading America is like watching a skyscraper falling down and then just when you think it’s all crumbled to the ground and it can’t possibly get any worse, it suddenly begins to fall into a huge chasm in the and some weird sci-fi stuff starts happening. None of it makes sense.
No, it doesn’t make any sense.
I get filled with bile not just at the original GOP treason, but also that they’re supporting the whole thing.
And by the end of the week, all the republicans who were criticizing him will be “Look, let’s just move on – he explained what he meant, no story here” and that will be the end of it. And his base will be crying about how hypercritical everyone is and how the poor guy isn’t allowed to make a mistake and god, wasn’t it obvious what he really meant and anyway Obama something, something, something her emails. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Little Marco already did that. He wants to move forward, he said.
I saw that and I am in awe. I cannot believe how far the GOP has fallen – and I had no respect for them before this.
Exactly. I hate to burst Kaiser’s bubble because she seems to still have some kind of faith in the American people, but there is a very loud segment of the American people who ARE stupid. They don’t watch the news. They don’t know (or even if they do know, they don’t care) what he’s said or done. They will defend him with their dying breaths.
I would add that there are American people who are stupid because they DO watch the news, Fox News and Sinclair Broadcasting News.
He needs to stop. And get impeached. And removed from office. And go away forever.
More like, LOCKED away forever.
We took in Ferdinand Marcos. Can we force the Philippines to take Trump?
My eyes almost rolled out of my head. If he truly just misspoke, why did it take 28 hours to correct himself? Because he meant every Putin ass kissing, anti-USA thing he said on Monday.
Trump spelled collusion incorrectly, apparently in his Bigly brain the word has only one L. If anyone ever compiled a “Trump’s most embarrassing moments” I think it would run on a feed 24/7 forever!
And did you also see he crossed off the line saying “anyone involved in the meddling will be brought to justice.” He was simply unwilling to speak these words. Telling.
Very telling.
Was wondering what he had crossed out. Also have read that the official transcript of the news conference with Trump and Putin left out this part of it.
I think you have something there. Maybe the word “justice” strikes fear in his mind since Mueller is just around the corner ready to deliver some well deserved justice to his cronies.
I hope he doesn’t start a war with Russia just to prove he doesn’t like them.
He will start a war with Iran. It would distract the public and media away from Russia and the Mueller investigation . Maybe that is what he and Putin were discussing in private…..
Yep, and many GOPers actually thing going to war with Iran is a godd idea (because they are cray) so it will please them. The media love nothing more than war and his buddies in Israel have been itching to attack Iran for a while now.
Putin said on Russian state tv that trump made him a “very interesting offer” for Ukraine. don’t forget trump supports Russia annexing Crimea.
He’s a serial liar. He is only interested in aiding himself and his family. He is a for profit president. He will be the most vile of humans, who will say or do anything, as long as he benefits. No doubt Putin has something on him. I pray every night that we find out what soon. The fact that 37% support him is enough to make me cry. I will vote 100% DEMOCRATIC in all upcoming elections. Republicans have aided and a bedded this wanna be dictator, which is actually the most disappointing part of this all, showing that our checks & balances don’t always work.
I’m sorry I can’t find the double negative.. I thought it would be ‘not wouldn’t’.. A great piece from WashPo yesterday. The shade and burn was epic.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/this-sad-embarrassing-wreck-of-a-man/2018/07/17/d06de8ea-89e8-11e8-a345-a1bf7847b375_story.html?utm_term=.78be2e7d405d
Thanks for the link, that was great.
I laughed when he said “sort of a double negative” because it definitely is not. He’s not just a liar but a bad liar. You’d think that someone who lies so much would actually be better at it.
He has no clue as to what a double negative is.
The GOP is in a crazy amount of denial if they think this double negative assertion is going to fix this! I’ve given up any and all hope that those surrounding this President are able to restrain him and his shameless autocratic, nationalistic, anti democratic views. My disgust is now reserved for the GOP
and they’re passive response to a total meltdown of our values and alliances. This should and will be their legacy….
They likely just hope they have enough leftover campaign funds, donor perks, etc., to move to a secluded island. I cannot imagine them being welcomed everywhere once they retire.
You, Emperor Zero, are a compulsive liar.
Subpoena the translator!
For those who think Mueller will not be “saving” the United States (and I’ve been seeing that sentiment more on CB), you are dead wrong.
Mueller has contingency plans for his contingency plans: Cohen dancing in SDNY, Flight risk Butina is locked up via the DOJ. Plenty of Witches still to be caught in the “rigged witch hunt.”
Manafort is toast, Cohen is dust, Butina will take both Dana Rohrbacher and don JR down with her.
Remember, the number of felons in this travesty will number in the 100s. Mueller has only just started.
I appreciate your optimism but Mueller can only do so much. He can’t indict a sitting president and hell will freeze over before the GOP impeach Trump so no, he won’t save us. We have to vote in the Midterms like DEMOCRACY itself is on the ballot. It’s the only way.
Kate:
How will two more indictments make you feel? They are imminent.
I never said we shouldn’t vote in November but remember what DNI Coates just said about “red blinking lights” regarding the election process. Plus there are a lot of variables when it comes to voting–registration, gerrymandering, suppression, fake news, and the MAGAts will be out in full force.
I’m, perhaps naively, putting my trust in a patriot, one who served valiantly in the military, one who was head of the FBI for 12 years, one who has a Murderer’s Row of prosecutors with expertise in the fields that EZ and Co are best at being felons in.
In Mueller, I do trust and two new indictments will make my day, Eric^^. It’s the GOP and their neverending bouts of corruption and complicity that worry me.
Kate,
From what I have been told about impeachment, the GOP supported Nixon until it was so overwhelming that they couldn’t do it anymore. I think the same will happen here. Mueller is playing the long game, but when his cards are finally laid out on the table for everyone to see, it will be undeniable how corrupt this situation is. I have no faith in congress, but I do have faith that the American people can pressure their reps and senators.
We’ve only seen the tip of Mueller’s iceberg so far, and as they say, what you can’t see matters most. There are some things so damning, they won’t come out until the very last moment.
(Gotta say: I think it is necessary that we have some optimism and pessimism pushing against each other at all times. It puts us in the best state of mind to prepare for the battles ahead).
Great post Tiffany))
I especially like the last part. 🙂
Thank you, Magnolia!
Mueller can only do so much but what he does will hopefully be significant. If much of his circle, including some of his kids, is indicted or arrested, maybe he’ll resign. I don’t know…just trying to cling to any shred of hope these days and I do agree Mueller does offer some.
If he resigns, he loses most of the GOP protection and as well as the impossibility/difficulty of being indicted as a sitting president.
Esmom, I too believe Mueller is setting up the narrative for collusion. He’s been very skillful and thanks to some excellent journalists (I like Ari Melber for his legal expertise) I can grasp how the dots are starting to connect.
But, as you and everyone else have said, we must have a Dem majority. That’s our part.
And at this point I absolutely feel we must impeach.
Esmom- as Kate says, Trump is counting on the Presidency to protect him against indictment. There are state charges as well as federal and so Pence can’t save him with a pardon.
Trump probably assumes the Republicans won’t allow him to be impeached. My guess is that Putin provided him with a lot of dirt on Congress to keep them in line, obtained from the Russian hacking of the RNC and other Republican sources (which you know they did).
Nixon resigned only because the Republicans told him that he would be impeached and removed from office otherwise. The Republicans won’t tell Trump that.
Mueller will also try Trump by proxy in the upcoming Manafort trial. All that evidence that Manafort tried to suppress, trying to move the court date, court venue — anything at all to delay and distract and they’ve all backfired on Manafort–His trial is starting in less than 2 weeks.
Don’t forget that Gates (Manafort’s right-hand man) has ALREADY pleaded GUILTY in exchange for a lighter prison sentence, because he’s already cut his plea deal. A plea deal which means he has to testify in court about all the nasty things he knows about he election, emperor zero, and Manafort’s dirty, dirty dealings. And he has to keep testifying until Mueller says he’s done–trial after trial, if necessary. ez’s name is going to come up again, again, again, again. There is literally mountains of evidence against manafort. As of yesterday, Mueller applied for FIVE people to get IMMUNITY for testifying against Manafort.
This is only the first trial of many.
As for Cohen, he keeps tweeting out (which is unusual) that he had nothing to do with the election tampering, and that he believes the intelligence agencies 100%–basically, “Yeah, I’m a crook, but I ain’t no traitor!!” The special Master assigned to look through the ginormous amount of info they nabbed from Cohen is nearly done. Very few pieces were set aside as “priviliged” info, a couple of hundred maybe–which sounds like a lot until you consider over 1.8 MILLION other pieces of info is being allowed. Expect ez’s name to be mentioned nearly non-stop when Cohen goes to court…so far, he’s not being offered a plea deal..so there’s that. We are just scratching the surface with these two.
Let’s not lose all hope! The court of public opinion counts for a lot — look how ez lamely tried to do a “take back” of his BS in Helsinki when the absolute tidal wave of outrage came at him.
The 5 witnesses who Mueller has asked for immunity is so intriguing! Did I misunderstand, or did he also ask to have their identities be protected? Very interesting!
Tiffany: He DID ask that they each have their identities protected! So, interesting. . . .Who are the five? I wonder if it’s people we know of that are involved or new people to the game?
Thanks for spelling that out so clearly.
Yo, man
(Yo)
Open up, man
(Yeah, what do you want, man?)
My country just caught me
(You let her catch you?)
I don’t know how I let this happen
(With who?)
Russia next door, ya know?
Man, I don’t know what to do
(Say it wasn’t you)
Alright
America came in and she caught me red-handed
Creeping with Russia next door
Hahahahahahahahahaha
Hahaha. 🙂
If he “mispoke” during the presser, why was the rest of the press conference very much in line with the “Russia did not meddle in the election” he’s been serving us for almost two years now? Why did he said the exacyt same thing to Hannity afterwards? Why, in yesterday’s statement, did he also add that it could be anybody, lot of people (bitch, who?).
This is Charlottesville all over again, tight to the body language. His first declaration was badly-received, so his aides forced him to make a second one. But we know Sweet Potato Saddam, by tomorrow morning, he’ll rage-tweet his true feelingsabout his BFF Putin.
It would be nice if he would at least keep tweet-confessing his crimes so that we have a neat package.
Betsy, yes, it would be nice but then the MSM and the Dotard’s cult will act like it never happened. Remember that Lester Holt interview during which he basically confessed that his firing of Comey was obstruction of justice? Yet, people still act like the Russia thing is just fake news and is overblown (cough *Greenwald*)
So Monday wasn’t not Opposite Day? 😩😭🔥
Bullshit. Cuz then he said it could have been anybody. There are a lot of people out there. He just realized he could have been hit with treason…
EXACTLY! The new stentence does not make sence in light of the remaining paragraph. It’s pathetic that he took him 48 hours to come up with such a bad excuse.
Supposedly it took an entire group to come up with that excuse.
These people’s dumbness make the characters of Veep sound like genius. SMDH.
A TV series or movie scripted like this would have likely failed. It makes Smokey and the Bandit and The Three Stooges look Shakespearian.
Amazing how many of his supporters will rush to defend this as a “misspeak” when he was supposed to be the guy who gave it to you straight, y’know?
He also tweeted that if you don’t want him to get along with Putin, then you rather have the US go to war with Russia. He got that talking point from Tomi Lahren.
I am surprised Tomato Lasagna has not been offered Hopeless Hicks’former job.
I’d be surprised if either of them knew how to spell “false dichotomy” despite how often they use it.
Count me as one of the haters then. I seriously do have hate for 45. The family separation prisons are so fcked. I hate all of it.
Anyone who believes this pitiful, sorry excuse really is an ignorant Deplorable. If you still have Trumpster friends – challenge them on this. Some may even come to realize that there is no excusing the words of this lying traitor (most Trumpsters claim to be patriotic).
My brother has a friend on FB that whenever Trump does something like this his excuse is “He’s president, he can do anything he wants to do”. Ugh!
I’m sure he said the same thing when Obama was president 🙄
lol, as if he knows what a double negative is.
He looks worse and worse each day-fatter, more red faced. I really hope the WH doctor is as crappy as his personal, hippie doc. I’m no spring chicken and I intend to dance on the grave of his rotting corpse.
I will happily join you in that dance, just watch you’re shins because I am not a great dancer. I would take lessons for this great occasion to insure yore safety.
I just have to say thank you to all the CB commentators for keeping my spirits up during this time of political isolation. 👍
He does look more ham-faced than ever. I’ve noticed his skin texture looks different (dehydrated?).
Wonder how Doc Ronny’s diet and exercise plan is going?
He looks terrible. My brother in law is exactly Trump’s age and looks much, much healthier. But he actually exercises and doesn’t eat junk.
I’m two years older than POS-in-Chief and next to him I look like an Olympic athlete(almost😊).
I think he has serious health problems that aren’t being reported. He looks worse and worse and his eyes look emptier and more lost daily.
His ghostwriter on The Art of the Deal thinks Trump is now almost 100% of the time living in his own little alternative reality bubble. He thinks Trump is deteriorating mentally at a much faster rate.
I have always hoped that:
1) Trump has Air Force One detour to Dubai, gets off the plane, waves goodbye, and resigns by tweet on his way to the golf course
OR
2) Trump is forcibly removed from the Oval Office in handcuffs
OR
3) Trump is forcibly removed from the Oval Office in a strait jacket.
Maybe #3 is closer than I thought.
Yeah, because “wouldn’t” TOTALLY makes sense in the context of what he said right before it. How stupid do these morons think we are? Also, how many people ARE that stupid and will fall for this absurd explanation hook, line, and sinker (Trump supporters, I mean…)?
UGHGHGHHHHHH!!!!!!
Don’t do what Donnie Don’t does by which I mean hire Lionel Hutz, apparently.
That moron does’nt even know the definition of a double negative. That’s too big of a phrase for him..obviously this new excuse was written for him because he never willingly admits to being wrong
OMG – seriously? This is what he’s going with? I made a comment on one of the news reports about his Putin press conference on YouTube and some guy literally copied and pasted the entire whitehouse.gov points on how Trump has been ‘hard’ on Russia which they put out yesterday. I swear it was a bot. Not only that – it became a ‘highlighted reply’ so I have no idea what google are doing there.
I will say this. It’s interesting how immediately the Trump camp knows when they’ve done something to possibly upset his base. Because he’s said and done lots of bad stuff, but when they know it’s costing them, they work fast. And it seems very fine-tuned. The ‘lots of good people on both sides’ … no change. Children in cages…nine at first because at first it actually was still playing to his base, but then it stated to turn and they leapt in to fix at least the surface damage. I have to wonder, ala House of Cards, as to where his campaign get his information from and if it’s legal.
And god, I so agree about listening to him. I had to turn off his ‘correction’ video. I can’t stand to hear the man talk.
GOP Congress members met with him when he returned. They were probably the ones who came up with this lie that he “misspoke.” They’re scrambling to control the damage. It won’t work. They are all under investigation and undoubtedly in a race to sell each other out to Mueller.
I keep waking up hoping to see the Idiot is gone and we still have Obama. And I am pushed further into depression every day.
Red Alert!
When asked about the possible extradition of Bill Browder (British citizen) and Michael McFaul (American citizen) to Russia to be prosecuted there, Press Secretary Sanders told the pool that EZ will be consulting with his National Security Team about it.
Wait…
WHAT????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!
I am seriously concerned for their safety. Putin desperately wants the Magnitsky Act overturned. Hasn’t Putin tried several times to have Browder arrested already with some sort of interpol warrant? It is all about the money with both of them
Fret ye not, it is not legal in any way nor is it ever going to be legal.
This is part of what he’s promised Putin in the closed off ‘meeting’ – wonder how many Trump hotel’s these 2 lives got him.
Browder was pursuing court cases in Russia about corruption leading all the way to Putin. This is why his Russian lawyer Magnitsky was arrested, imprisoned, tortured, and killed and why the Magnitsky act was passed. Putin wants to kill Browder, who continues to speak out about the situation and was instrumental the Magnitsky act passed (which freezes assets and bans entry to human rights violators). The investigation endangers Putin’s enormous personal wealth in non-Russian accounts.
Browder was born in the US but has been a British citizen for 29 years. I don’t think Trump can legally hand him over to Putin, which is what Putin asked for in return for extraditing the indicted 12 Russian military intelligence agents to the USA. That’s how much Putin wants to get his hands on Browder. And that’s the offer that Trump gushed over as “an incredible offer”. Incredible indeed.
The latest claim is that Browder made a $400 million donation to Hillary Clinton, which is not only false but ridiculous. But that is intended to attract Trump’s attention. His handler knows him very well.
Meanwhile “patriotic” white Americans think football players who take a knee during the anthem should lose their livelihoods. Oh how nice it must be to live with so much cognitive dissonance.
We should all be taking a knee anytime the anthem is played until Trump and Republican who look the other way are out of service.
It’s like the republicans are taking a page right out of 1984. I wouldn’t be surprised if this would vs wouldn’t idea came from Marco Rubio.
Mueller can put an end to all this by indicting the Dotard, his kids, Jared, and those republicans who have been trying to stop Mueller’s investigation(Nunes, Chuck G, Jim Jordan, Lindsay Graham, Trey Gowdy, Matt G, and Meadows).
I just read the most despicable thing. Trump said he would consider handing over our Ambassador McFaul and Bill Browder to Putin for questioning, in other words, assassination.
I have called my senator and voiced my disgust and deep alarm. Trump must be censored and after the elections impeached.
Trump seems to have pissed off the wrong Intelligence group – He was briefed on the hacking and interference 2 weeks before his inauguration by the heads of intelligence and informed that Putin ordered it personally. He was shown proof.
Some of the information came from a very, very highly placed source that only a handful of people even knew existed. I wonder where that source is now?
P.S. Even if you think it’s another case of Nothing Matters in the darkest timeline, I’ll point out that the revealing of this means that America’s Intelligence Community is (unofficially) throwing down. I know who I am betting on in that scenario.
