When I first read this story I swear I thought “isn’t she married?” My mind isn’t in the gossip today as I’m in hurricane-fleeing mode although things are looking better for Kaiser and my neck of the woods and worse for Corey’s. (Sorry Corey! I’m traveling and luckily prebooked everything as all the hotels are full. Fingers crossed for all of you affected by this storm and the subsequent flooding.)
Getting back to this story, Drew Barrymore and Justin Long were spotted out on a date together. They’re both serial daters and commitment-phobes so I get why they hooked up again, but doubt it will last. They last dated back in 2010 and were off and on for about two years before Drew met her now ex husband, Will Kopelman. Justin dated Leighton Meester and more famously Amanda Seyfried (right before Amanda met her current husband, Thomas Sadoski). Justin was last with Chvrches singer Lauren Mayberry from about 2016 until at least May of this year. There’s no word when/if they broke up.

Drew Barrymore was spotted with ex Justin Long at the Lowell Hotel on the Upper East Side Monday — and a spy told us they seemed romantic.
“He came in [alone]. They left together,” said a spy. “It was like they were together and trying to look like they weren’t.”
The pair dated off-and-on for nearly two years before she married Will Kopelman, whom she divorced in 2016.
A Barrymore source told us they’ve been friends since they split.
Again this won’t last but I get it. Sidenote: do you remember when Drew married Tom Green? We might be asking that about Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson at some point. I would include Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin in that list, but I doubt anyone will care about them.

Justin Long seems to be the guy you date before you meet the real one? It’s like women learn from him what they don’t want in a relationship. Drew is now divorced but I think she’s like Justin. Neither likes to be tied down to the same person for too long.
Yea, poor Justin seems to have bad dating mojo. He seemed really into Drew and she left him and married the next one. Same with Amanda, I think she was cheating on him with the dude she married.

Didn’t Tom Greene say that him and drew lived together for a year before they were engaged and were engaged for a year before they were married?
Not only do I remember her with Tom Green but also with Jamie Walters about a million years ago. And I think she married a bartender for about a minute between the two.
My hunch is that she and Long are friends but who knows. She’s messy but I have a soft spot for her.
Her and Eric Erlandson (bassist from Hole) was peak 90’s but the hottest dude she dated was Fabrizio Moretti from the Strokes.

Yes re: Luke Wilson and it was before Owen and luke were stars. If anything she helped bring those guys some fame and attention (deservedly in my book; I love the Wilson bros). She dated Luke and then Gwyneth did!
Tom Green was the absolute worst. He used her. Remember when he put a pillowcase over her head? So he got all the camera time? Gross. He also laughed when he house burnt down and she lost what little artifacts she had from her childhood. Blech. Plus she helped get Freddy got fingered made. And that was trash trash trash.
I always wanted her to end up with Luke
But yeah Fab was super long term and I think she played that right- the strokes were huge and she was enjoying a lot of success and why not? Same for Erik – I have great pics from that era- she did her first movie with Nancy j in Seattle iirc and met him through C Love
Anyway Will k to me was always her ensuring her kids had a legacy. In a strange way as different as she is from her mom it IS sort of the same: she married a guy who’s family and family business ensures a life of security and a family of traditions (that part is what she never had). She didn’t need the name but she found a guy who could give her kids s everything she always wanted. Just like her mom gave Drew the name and legacy she herself always wanted. It’s interesting.
I love Drew even when she is kind of tone deaf. Her perseverance and resilience is real. She’s one of a kind.
As for a Justin, he’s cool, but she will probably have several off and on relationships before she marries some huge wine tycoon or banking Barron or goes for someone who can expand her business in some way: not because she’s a social climber but bc she’s “scrappy” and ambitious and I think she wont settle for a guy who cant raise the bar.
I don’t see Justin lasting but they might go on off for a year or two.

OMG @jensays YM Magazine! I bought it religiously for most of my teens. Is it even published anymore. It was my fav, far better than Seventeen or just plain ole Teen.
I wonder why Justin Long just sort of disappeared? I mean, I know he still occasionally pops up in things, but not nearly as much as he was.
All I know is their 2010 rom-com “Going the Distance” is one of my FAVES…and I ALWAYS thought they had magnificent chemistry and should be together for real…and there are FEW actors that I have thought THAT about!

Drew has a Netflix show with Tim Olyphant, Santa Clarita Diet, and it is great. Actually funny, and an original idea. Rare these days.
I love Santa Clarita Diet! They are both so good on it, and I love the actors who play the teenagers, too.
I keep almost watching it, then decide to skip it. The blood in the promo photos kinda grosses me out, lol. And I may be the only person on Earth who doesn’t find Olyphant attractive.

Why does her hair always look so bad? It is terrible in those last couple pictures. Don’t you have a hair dryer or a hot brush Drew? They were a really cute couple. I remember they were on Oprah together and they were SO IN LOVE and GUSHY. They do both seem like serial daters, love addicts. Who knows though? Maybe it will work this time. Best to them.

…he was with Lauren Mayberry all too recently as her “boyfriend”…all I can hope is that he’s no longer officially with her and this isn’t shady.
She’s such a gorgeous woman with her own make up company and a billion resources. So why oh why do her hair and makeup always look so off?
I actually think Justin is the guy she should have married. He seems like the only guy she’s dated who’s made her content, and I think their senses of humor probably work well. (I’ve actually met Justin; it was a long time ago when he was still just the Mac commercial guy, but he’s very kind and genuine). She seems like she’s never going to be totally happy, though. I think she has a restless personality and is always looking for the thing or person to ground her. She finds something and goes with it for awhile but its interest eventually fades.
Remember when her and Tom’s house burned down and they were saved by their dog???

And, in this day and age, if two consenting and unattached adults just want to hook up, isn’t that their perogative? Maybe their end game isn’t ‘going the distance’; maybe it’s just about getting their rocks off. And that is perfectly okay.

I never looked at Justin as HAWT…I LOVE his acting and his sweetness which based on my intuition, I think is real…but I NEVA looked at him as HAWT…until he played that bit part in “Zack & Miri Makes A Porno” where he pretty much STOLE THE SHOW playing an imitation of Jeff Stryker (google him…MY LAWD!!!) which made me go…

I watch the show and kinda enjoy it, but I don’t find Olyphant attractive either.
Drew was with that guy from The Strokes for years. And most of her relationships have been fairly lengthy by Hollywood standards, at least in her adult life. She was all quick flings in her early twenties but then she seemed to go for more long term stuff.
