Sophie Turner & Joe Jonas got married in Vegas right after the Billboard Music Awards on May 1st. Sophie wore a white dress, Diplo live-streamed it, and an Elvis impersonator officiated. It was tacky and fun and low-key and I sort of enjoyed that they didn’t make a huge fuss and go overboard like Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra. But we quickly learned that this was merely their official American wedding (to make it legal) and they still plan on having a second wedding in France soon enough. But did you know their second wedding is probably going to be as “unconventional” as their first? And did you know that Joe and Sophie seem to love being performatively “weird”? Priyanka Chopra told the story of how the first wedding happened, and what the second wedding will entail:
Priyanka Chopra said: ‘It was really funny. We were at the Billboards. Joe I think had this idea that he wanted to do this. But we were at the Billboards and he had these little black cards that we all got. We were randomly inviting our friends, like people that we met. We were like, “alright, we’re going to set up this wedding now, we’re going to the chapel right from here, and please arrive, please arrive”. We had Diplo, Khalid, they were really sweet, they arrived. Diplo Instagram Live-d the whole thing, it was awesome.’
And while many were shocked by the surprise ceremony, the actress insisted it was typical of the couple. She told Access: ‘That was so fun. It was so fun! And it’s so Jophie, I call them Jophie. It’s like, trust them to do that. That is Jophie!’
Priyanka also confirmed the Game of Thrones actress and the Sucker singer will have another ‘amazing, beautiful wedding’ later this year, and revealed it will include games of rugby and football. She said: ‘I’m going to be on the cheering team. “Yay, you guys are great! Well done!” while I sip on a Bellini.’
I guess Sophie and Joe are just that couple… that couple who do weird and unconventional things, like invite random music industry celebrities to their Vegas wedding, and plan on games of football and rugby for their second wedding? Suddenly, Nick and Priyanka’s 20 million weddings don’t look so bad. Also: are all the JoBros like this? Kevin had a normal wedding to Danielle, right?

They are so young. It makes me give them a little pass… and as long as they are happy that’s good too.
I also am a fan of them because their height/size dynamic is the same as me and my husband (well… I’m heavier than Sophie now! So even more difference between me and my husband now that we are in our 30s lol). I love being the larger person, I love that my husband is so small and so mighty. And I don’t get to see a lot of couples who look like us, as far as size dynamic. They look just as comfortable with their less conventional size difference as my husband and I are. So I like them for that superficial reason 🤷🏼♀️
My husband and I look like this too, and that was my first thought as well. He had a hard time dating when he was younger, because any girl who was taller than him would turn him down. He only ever dated short girls. It’s kind of nice to be the tall one, I joke that I look like a model standing next to him, he makes me look taller than I am.
After Watching Sophie Turner’s therapy session with Dr Phil, I am glad she’s doing it her way. This woman has been clinical depressed and on anti-depressants while being a shining star on Got! Her negative feelings about herself is the lie of depression. So yeah I cut her all the passes!!

Kevin and Danielle made a big deal about still being virgins, right? I’m pretty sure they still had a fairly large, super traditional wedding. Idk, I kind of love that Joe and Sophie are doing their own weird thing. They seem like happy weirdos.
Of course, Priyanka is the one who has to talk all about the wedding.

It’s funny that a huge part of the Jonas Brothers’ brand when they were teens was their “promise rings”, and after a few years of rebuking that and doing the “I have sex now” thing, their latest brand is “being married but like in a fun way.” Idk what to say other than the heteronormativity is strong with them.
The Jonas brothers are all most likely straight. I don’t think any of them have ever identified otherwise or mentioned any hook-ups with/attraction to men, (although Sophie has mentioned being with women) and all the people they’ve dated have been women.
I like Joe and Sophie’s MET look. They looked good.
Joe’s always been the cutest to me, and I’m Sophie’s height, so I can imagine how we would look together. lol Congrats to the couple.

I think I might find “Jophie” exhausting if I knew them in real life, but as celebrities I think they’re great. I thought the goofy Vegas wedding was really fun, and I look forward to the inevitable leaks from their second rugby wedding.
i just don’t get the appeal of the jonas brothers, they look like such teeny boppers! and i’m still fatigued from priyanka’s 80 weddings, so one more jonas wedding is toooooooo much.
Kevin and Danielle got married at Oheka Castle which is directly across the road from the development neighborhood I grew up in and had a view of. I even shot my senior thesis film while at NYU at the castle, built by Otto Kahn, an infamous new money millionaire during the Gatsby Era on Long Island. There’s a movie with Kevin Kline that was filmed there as well as the estate where the lead characters of Royal Pains lived (they pretended it was located in the Hamptons when it’s really located on the border of Huntington and Clod Spring Harbor). My cousin got married there and so did my childhood friend (who also grew up in the same development). It’s really a cool and lovely venue now that they fixed it up a lot, but kevin and Danielle’s winter wonderland wedding was nothing compared to what Nick Priyanka’s epic weddings have been like or Jophie’s weddings with stars attending. Kevin and Danielle are the most down to earth I think since, Joe and Nick seemed to have been able to be successful with their solo work. Kevin is building McMansions in NJ which is a nice living, but it has to be some awkwardness being the oldest?
