…Why would anyone not wash their legs when showering? Start at the top and scrub your way down, BOOM! Showered.
I once asked a group of friends at a pub if they scrubbed their feet in the shower or just called it good, since, you know, they’re in the soapy water the whole time. They all acted like I was gross for even asking, but they were also the types to screw around with people. I never did get a straight answer or figure out if I was just nasty because I don’t. I’d still love some input if anyone has any to offer. LOL
I scrub my feet in the shower.
I do and once a week I use a pumice stone to scrub off the rough bits.
I don’t scrub my legs when I shower.
I shave them in the shower but I don’t scrub them.
I don’t even shave all that often.
I have no hair on my knees or thighs.
I don’t know; I just don’t and very little on the lower legs.
I figure all the soap and shower oil and shampoo just runs down over my legs and poof! Washed.
My skin is dry and I use soap on my legs after yard work or sweating or something but that’s it.
Anyway, I love the old films but I was never a big fan of Doris Day and I’m not sure of the reason, (probably because I like the villains like Bette Davis) however, years ago I made a CD with her songs.
I might dig that out tonight. Rest in peace Miss Day.
It was my first thought. Of course I wash my legs in the shower?!?!
LOL I was watching the youtube drama while I was sick this weekend. Big fan of Tati Westbrook – she’s great. James is a moron who will hopefully learn from this, but I kind of doubt it.
I did too! I was somewhat familiar with Tati because I like fancy makeup more than I can afford it. The whole thing exploded and I fell down the rabbit hole! It’s weird and fascinating and somewhat sad.
Same!! The more that comes out about JC being creepy with people and trying to lure and threaten straight men, and also tell them they don’t know their own sexuality, and that “the truth comes out when you’re drunk” and “you’re gay, trust me”, and then play the victim if he doesn’t end up in a relationship, the more I believe his career is very over at only 19. He’s totally predatory, and crazy manipulative. I hope he learns and grows and changes from this gigantic rock bottom he has hit, because there’s great potential to learn and come back and do some good. But he has a lot of people to earn trust back from.
I have a horrible cold and I’ve been glued to all the drama while I’ve been dying in bed lol
Thanks to Doris and Rock for their rom-coms. I also appreciate how she became an early animal advocate, and continued her efforts into her 90s. I think she appeared at birthday functions to raise money for her animal foundations. Otherwise, she kept a low profile.
I kept hoping she might do an interview about her career after all these years. Supposedly she considered it, but only did a couple of TCM voiceovers (one was a nice tribute to Rock).
I’m a bath person so I take care of everything when I’m lounging. Then I stand do a quick rinse under the shower.
He’ll yeah I wash my legs!! Why wouldn’t I.
Doris Day. Love her, she was in some great movies. They used to play her movies on Saturday afternoons in the 70s and I enjoyed watching them. My favorites are Pillow Talk and the Man Who Knew Too Much. RIP.
Doris Day was so much more than the girl next door. She was an animal advocate activist decades before it became fashionable. At a time when just being around someone with AIDS struck terror in most people’s hearts she made a point of publicly embracing her friend Rock Hudson. She made some good movies and some good music, too. RIP, Doris.
A Legend, Icon, Great Singer and Actress most of all a Wonderful Human Being!
Yes, a true icon. Loved her in That Touch of Mink with Cary Grant (and that they were paramours off screen too). I also loved her in the Rock Hudson comedies and Love Me or Leave Me with Jimmy Cagney. She played well in Julie and Midnight Lace as a terrified woman. The woman could do it all. Rest in peace.
She was pure sunshine. She had the best smile. An amazing woman.
All together now, “Que será, será.”
She had another song that I really liked called “Sentimental Journey” which my dad would sing at times. He’s been gone for 10 years now. I think I’ll go watch some YouTube videos of her and reminisce and probably cry. RIP DD.
Aww, Sentimental Journey is a lovely song. She sang like an angel. She just had such warmth as an actress. Definitely one of a kind and she did so much work for animal causes.
Oh my god, Sentimental Journey is just one of the best songs.
I don’t understand how anyone who shaves their legs isn’t washing their legs, I guess. If you put some kind of sudsy, soapy product on your legs which is then rinsed off, I would count that as washing. Personally, I wash them with body wash, just as I do the rest of my body.
….still a better tattoo than Ben Affleck’s phoenix
RIP Doris Day. You did good in this world.
That hairstyle makes Pine look younger!!
Lighthearted comedic actor, singer in the big band era, survived the loss of her only son, and a difficult marriage to Martin Melcher. Midnight Lace, (suspense drama) and The Man Who Knew too Much, (Hitchcock suspense film), both worth viewing.
I love old Doris Day movies. I always found her characters to be annoying, but for some reason I still loved the movies, (I’m a huge Cary Grant fan, too). I always hoped to run into her in Carmel, but I never did.
As for washing my feet/legs; I have three types of showers, each depending on how much time I have. If I have a full 15-20 min for my shower, I wash, scrub and shave. 10 minutes means I don’t wash my hair or shave, but I do scrub all of my body. 5 minutes means just the pits and bits. Luckily that rarely happens. So no, I don’t ALWAYS wash my legs and feet, but usually I do.
I don’t know anything about the young and pretty youtube influencer but for a crazed moment thought “Wait, that can’t be the UK designer honored by the Met Gala some years ago!” Charles James. I’m getting on in years.
I wash legs, feet-tops & souls, behind my ears too, every shower. Never thought not to do such…
Oh, huge fan of Doris Day movies, may she RIP.
As soon as I heard the news about Doris Day, I started singing ‘Secret Love’ with tears in my eyes. One of the great American singers of the 20th century. Ms. Day had a very difficult life and overcame a lot of obstacles. Apparently her last years weren’t so great, so she’s free now and she knows how much was loved. God speed and God bless.
Awww…. Pillow Talk was one of my husband’s and my songs. Doris’s music was a big part of my life for a while there. Now she gets to be with her son.
RIP to Doris Day. A hark back to old Hollywood.
Please Don’t Eat the Daisies, where she played Jean Kerr, a real woman, trying to set up life in the suburbs while her hubby reviewed plays for the New York Times. It is pre Mad Men real – she sings, but also gets herself into town to run interference.
Doris Day in Calamity Jane is a revelation. She is butch as all get-out and it’s definitely a lesbian romcom, but the ending has to “straighten” up the two women, so Calamity and her adorable roommate Katie both marry men. Day gives the performance of a lifetime all the way through, singing, dancing, shooting, talking tough, and playing house with her female co-star, and she is winning as all heck. I asked my husband, Why didn’t this movie make Doris Day a star? She’s doing it all! And he said, Her gender performance was waaaaaay ahead of its time, they weren’t ready for it then. (However, Calamity Jane depicts Native Americans in truly horrible ways, be prepared for that if you see it.)
