  1. Tiffany says:

Considering who the source is, I am gonna go with rude with a sprinkle, no a large lump of condescending.

  2. Kyla says:

To be fair, she probably grew up with her half-brother’s mother doing all the cooking.

  3. Rhys says:

They’re probably both laughing about it. But yeah, the cooking skill doesn’t come preinstalled in the vagina. Pratt should do it, if he thinks he can cook.

  4. DS9 says:

That’s not cute. I’d kill him.

  5. Piptopher says:

Wow what a condescending dick. On the other hand, how does one mess up that bad? Kind of embarrassing for both of them but so on brand in both directions.

    • Lady Luna says:

I thought the same thing. I did not know what bagel bites were and I had to look them up. Who puts bread on a microwave? Get a toaster oven, so much better.

      • L4frimaire says:

I had to look up what a bagel bite is. Ew This is the best they can do?

      • Raina says:

I do. I put everything in a microwave.
I am going to die in one.

He’s just trying to be funny but didn’t work. He should’ve prayed on it first

    • The Other Katherine says:

I was gonna comment, but you summed it all up!

  6. BeanieBean says:

    Wow, how condescending.

  7. naomipaige99 says:

She;s got that hard firm jaw line just like her mom

  8. dlc says:

Isn’t she a lifestyle blogger? Or does she just say that so it appears she has a job, lol.

  9. classicmoviecat says:

I’d never “cook” for him again, if I were her.

  10. soapyme says:

Wasn’t one of his complaints about Anna Faris was that she loved to cook and was sabotaging his weight?

  11. zotsioltar says:

Wonder how good of a cook he is? May just be a fun couple ribbing each other (in public though?), may be kinda douchey. SO and I had this issue when we moved in together, but we both sucked at cooking.

    • Jadedone says:

I feel like maybe he trying to be like Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds always playfully makes fun of Blake on Insta but Pratt just do it with the same charm

      • lucy2 says:

Probably, but he doesn’t have the charm or wit for that. And given all his other issues, it comes across as condescending and annoying.
Hopefully she was ok with him posting it for the world to see.

  12. TQB says:

If this was on her insta, sure, hilarious. We all fail.

But on his, NFW. This guy is such a turd, i hope she burned this and then immediately shoved it down his pants.

  13. Stromba says:

Awkward, she grew up being served and now he expects her to serve him… I wonder if she truly knew what she was getting into. A few people on here were talking about changing expectations after marriage a few days ago (on the Oprah post, I think?), this might be a case of it?

Wish this had been its own article tbh, I feel there’s a lot to unpack in Pratt’s caption.
He’s basically calling her both stupid… and lazy, I think? With “this is a big step”, like what he means is “it’s about time”!
And both “it’s how many times you get up… and keep moving forward” and “This is a big step” imply he’s expecting her to keep trying until she gets it, imo.
But what makes me most uncomfortable is the “Maybe she thought it said 2 hours” sentence: talking to us all as if she weren’t there, basically getting us all in on the mockery at her expense. I can almost see him making the same kind of comment in real life, in front of her…

    Idk, am I overreacting? I can’t stand him…

    • stormsmama says:

      you are not overreacting
he is being a complete douche and inviting us all to mock her which I find vile and loathsome

      • Stromba says:

Thanks, stormsmama. I see other people found it red-flag-y as well. Shouldnt doubt my instincts!

  14. Claire says:

I think it’s freakin’ funny that she messed up a bagel bite so bad. They probably laughed about it, I don’t think he’s being I jerk (in this instance.) At least, i hope she is able to laugh at herself over this 🤷‍♀️ When I moved out at 19, I could barely make a frozen pizza.
You know, if he doesn’t also post about her talents or things she does really well, or if he wouldn’t take the same teasing from her then it’s a problem…

    • Jadedone says:

My SIL once put a can of soup in the microwave, she was in her early 20s at the time lol

    • Erinn says:

I found it somewhat amusing too. I do think he’s probably quite an asshole most of the time, but I don’t think this was that bad in the scheme of things unless she’s not in on the joke. As long as she’s not hurt by it and finds it funny, that’s the main thing.

I can’t cook eggs properly. I can cook many different meals without any issue- but I’m not someone who likes eggs, so I don’t cook them for myself. And that’s a BASIC thing haha.

    • Donn says:

I remember having an old boyfriend, who knew i I didn’t know how to cook
asking me how I would make mashed potatoes and saying that I guessed you mashed the potatoes up and then cooked them. I also set a frozen pie on fire because I didn’t know the difference between broil and bake on oven settings, I was in my 30’s then, a long time ago, and I’ve since learned but I was definitely a late learner.

  15. Lou says:

I guess I’m the only one that thought it was kind of funny! She commented back on the picture so I’m sure she’s in on the joke.

  16. Mrs.Krabapple says:

Pratt was probably trying to be funny, not mean. Katherine grew up in a conservative household where women are lesser than men, so she’s probably fine with it.

Lupita Nyong’o can wear ANYTHING and make it look good.

    • BeanieBean says:

I don’t think for a minute that Maria thought of herself as less than, nor teach that to her daughters.

      • Mrs.Krabapple says:

Arnold didn’t “allow” Maria to wear pants when he was around, she had to wear skirts. (She was allowed to wear pants when he wasn’t around). That’s “lesser” imho.

  17. severine says:

Funny but reeks of 1950’s mentality. I think they can afford gourmet takeout. And why isn’t he cooking for her? Perplexing to say the least.

  18. Lua says:

As soon as I saw Miley’s comments I got the popcorn out anticipating the public beating. So. Stupid.

  19. Veronica’s friend Betty says:

    Who makes one bagel bite?

  20. Lizzie says:

I hope the next time he can’t get it up she posts a pic and makes fun of him for not doing what he’s supposed to be good for…

  21. Tricia says:

Some of y’all are probably too young to remember, but this screams of the “my wife…I think I’ll keep her” commercials. Make your own f*ckin bagel bites, dude.

    • whatWHAT? says:

oh my dog…there’s an older comedian who my family used to listen to, and he made fun of those commercials.

      “what is she?…a pet turtle?!”

  22. teehee says:

    Can HE?

  23. Ninks says:

    Miley Cyrus is an idiot.

    • Tiffany :) says:

Her comments are so out of line. She seems to have no perspective on how her words can impact other people.

  24. Liz version 700 says:

I have no idea how Katherine is as a person, but her husband drops in my esteem pretty much every time he opens his mouth.

  25. Leah says:

Well she’s the daughter of a Kennedy and a famous actor. She’s probably had cooks, nannies and housekeepers all her life. It wouldn’t be out of the ordinary if she never learned to cook and that’s okay if she never learned to cook. She can hire a cook or better yet Pratt can learn to cook. This is the 21st century and he needs to remember that.

  26. Original Jenns says:

Whatever it means to us, sounds like she doesn’t mind. She commented and said it was part of her plan to get him to do all of the cooking.

  27. Asavrich says:

Ok I cook a fair bit. Not well, but pretty often. I did not grow up with a maid. I also work with kids to help build life skills. One of my patients and I put a bagel bite in the microwave (per box instructions) and IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. It incinerated from the inside out. At work. I know a Schwarzenegger doesn’t need me to defend her but this can totally happen. Processed foods can be whack, y’all.

  28. eto says:

Eh I don’t care for Pratt but I don’t the post was a big deal. I would 1000% poke fun of my partner if they screwed up making a Bagel Bite, of all things, this badly.

  29. Beech says:

I remember that tag line, Tricia, but I had to google the ad only to watch the commercial, and did all my feelings spill. It was for Geritol and the commercial has the husband list all the things his wife does in a day while said wife makes googly eyes at the camera and him. If any of you want to burn the house patriarchy down watch the commercial on youtube.

    • Deering says:

God, that commercial (and that horrible Kay Jewelers one with the couple in the forest cabin during a thunderstorm) are in my top five most hated ads ever.

    • Mrs.Krabapple says:

May I add in the Michelin tire commercials?

Man 1: I understand why you have Michelin tires on *your* car, but why does your wife need them?
Man 2: Because she drives the baby around.
      Man 1: Oh.

    • Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Mine was always bringing home the bacon, frying it up in a pan and never ever forget you’re a man tripe. I even remember the forgettable perfume…Enjoli. Frakking unbelievable. The man obviously thought he didn’t have to lift a finger.

  30. A says:

He’s an asshole. What did anyone expect. Clearly she has no complaints, given that she’s married to him.

  31. Stef says:

This came across as condescending and douchey, not funny. I could see him patting her on the head as he said it.

Pretty telling if you can’t even cook a bagel bite.

  32. L4frimaire says:

At first I seriously thought that was a blini with caviar on top 🤣. Then saw Chris Pratt’s stupid comment and don’t think he’d eat something like that. That guy is a bit of a tool and while he’s thinks he’s funny, his MAGA ass probably thinks his wife should be able to cook like June Cleaver or some 50s hausfrau. Also, maybe they should take a couples cooking class at some fancy cooking school or Williams Sonoma. Not that hard to learn.

  33. pottymouth pup says:

Miley Cyrus’ ridiculous comments make me downright stabby. Her immaturity and insatiable need for attention is bad enough but ignorable; but her you don’t have to be gay comment should just cancel her forever.

    • GreenTurtle says:

That was jaw droppingly bad. Especially from someone who has made LGBTQ awareness one of her pet issues.

  34. Bonita says:

    What a dick.

  35. Blueskies says:

He’s a massive a**hole and seems to take every opportunity to prove that. This reminds me of a couple of now ex-husbands in my family who both thought it was “funny” to say in front of other relatives that “we’re working on so and so’s cooking”. He instantly gets my hackles up I admit. She may be happy to be all “oh you!” for the next 30 years and hats off to her for it.

  36. Lisabella says:

They’ll need to hire a cook. Let’s hope it’ll be a male or a female no longer of child-bearing age.

  37. Lory says:

i think it’s a form of gaslighting : he embarrasses his wife in public in order to establish dominance and feel less insecure. He acquired a lot of fame very quickly, which went to his head, but neither she, nor her family impresses easily. Did he actually think a girl from a family worth reportedly 1.2 billion dollars would know how to cook? Or would even have the desire? Nope. It’s a power play.

    • Bonita says:

      ^^^^^
      THIS

    • Tiffany says:

You know….this line of thinking is pretty apt.

    • Deering says:

Agreed. “It’s just a joke” is a classic privileged-jerk tactic.

    • Ruyana says:

I agree. He is insecure and trying to “put her in her place”. I don’t like him and I haven’t since his head swelled to gargantuan proportions after Guardians of the Galaxy. And he did blame Anna for sabotaging his weight with her cooking. Guess he’s never satisfied.

  38. Ann says:

As a rule one should never mock a spouse so that others will laugh. It’s simply not nice. He’s making fun of her. Mean.

    • Lena says:

I agree with this +100. If she had posted the pic on her Instagram and he made the comment I would still think it was dickish and condescending just a tiny bit less so. Ryan Reynolds gets away with doing the same thing because he does it with some humor not meanness.

  39. shells_bells says:

Ugh… Chris Pratt is such a tool. It would have been fine to gently tease her in front of close friends, but to his millions of followers?!? Nope!
Also, Miley needs to take a seat. Bleh.

  40. dota says:

With decades of practice I still cannot cook. How can you follow a recipe and it still comes out horribly awful?

    • Tiffany says:

I am with you. Some recipes are pretty difficult to follow. If you are not familiar with certain cooking terminology, you might as well be studying for the GRE with more stuff you have to look up.

I feel you on this one.

    • undergalaxy says:

This! I can do pasta dishes and roast dinners. Cakes or anything else come out looking like a disaster zone.

  41. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

If he were my hubs, there’s no telling which embarrassing pic I’d post.

  42. JanetFerber says:

Yeah, I’m just wondering about the motive of this. Because it’s not cute or playful. More like passive-aggressive and controlling. And this is the honeymoon phase. Good luck, girl. You got yourself a winner.

  43. Savannah says:

I’m just throwing this in here but they could both be laughing about it and it’s like an inside joke they have.. He obviously knew she was a bad cook when he married her.
Maybe she wanted to do something nice for him and failed, and it was hysterically funny for the both of them so he posted that?

We don’t know what humor they have or internal jokes or whatever.

Idk but I don’t feel like he’s belittling her. But then again, I don’t know him all that well. Or her.

    • MoonTheLoon says:

Couples have little inside jokes all the time, that’s true. Except that’s the thing- it’s an INSIDE joke. Which means it’s only shared with immediate family and close friends, at best. Not millions and millions of people on social media. The other thing that stood out was that he wrote an entire paragraph about it. This is the kind of thing that merits a couple lines, if it’s in jest. Nevertheless, he wrote an entire paragraph where he insinuated she’s somehow intellectually deficient (“maybe she thought it was supposed to be 2 hours?”).

If she puts up with it, it’s her issue in the end. Having said that, he put it out there. People are gonna call him on his douchebaggery.

  44. HK9 says:

Bitch would go hungry after that comment.

  45. RoyalBlue says:

He gets a C for effort and an F for poor execution. The best jokes are not passive aggressive insults but rather self deprecating ones. He should have ended that it is still 10 times better than his attempt at eggs over easy or looks like he’s making steak for the millionth time or something. Humor does not come naturally for him so he should avoid posting mocking posts.

  46. Fluffy Donuts says:

First, heating up a bagel bite is not cooking. Second, my daughter loves bagel bites and that doesn’t look anything like the “pan” you’re supposed to use in the microwave. And who heats up ONE bagel bite?? He’s a jerk, though. Big time.

  47. J ferber says:

Royal blue, you’re absolutely right .

  48. J ferber says:

Moontheloon, yes i agree that it was a whole paragraph and much too long, making it more of a harangue than a good-humored jest. And it was all at her expense, not self-deprecating at all, like another poster said. He just comes off looking like an asshole berating his wife for an improperly cooked meal. The patriarchy is strong with this one.

  49. Hello Kitty says:

Meanwhile, when my baked chicken comes out rubbery and inedible, my husband chokes it down and insists it’s fine, and gives me a kiss as thanks for taking the time to cook.

  50. J ferber says:

Hello, kitty: now that is a great husband! My husband knows that if i got take- out, it’s my cooking in that i bought it. He accepts it as my truth because to me, if i bought it, it’s the same as cooking. Real men know what to do.
