Donald Trump got massively booed at a UFC fight at Madison Square Garden

If I were to pick some sports which I thought Donald Trump would receive the best reception, I would choose professional football, professional baseball and anything to do with wrestling and/or UFC. Those are the sports that seem to have primarily white-dude fans and those seem to be the sports which attract the least “woke” people. But… when Trump went to a World Series game last week, the bitch got booed. Booed by (mostly) white baseball fans, can you imagine. But then it got even worse last night: Trump went to Madison Square Garden for the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) thing and… bitch got booed again. By what felt like the ENTIRE MSG. A cacophony of boos, we have to stan UFC fans?? NSFW for the cathartic language used:

Here’s another one where – if I’m being honest – I hear cheers mixed with boos. I would say the UFC crowd was *mostly* booing, but there were some people there cheering.

So what does this all mean? Does it mean that Trump’s go-to demographic – white dudes aged 18 to 50 – are no longer ride-or-die for him? Does it mean that sports fans just hate when a politician shows up? Does it mean that Barack Obama could walk into any sports arena or stadium and get a massive cheer? I don’t know. But it’s certainly interesting on a lot of levels. It also takes some next-level delusion for Trump’s staffers to continue to put him in this position, right? You would think that after the bitch got booed at the baseball game last week, his staffers would have put the kibosh on sending him to any sporting events for a while. But maybe that was the point – they thought Trump would get a really good reception at this UFC match and that a crowd “cheering” for him would stop the story about him getting booed. Well, that blew up in his fat orange face.

Chuck Schumer’s tweet was about how Trump is changing his residence from New York to Florida, but it could easily be about the MSG booing!!

  1. Luna says:

This is patriotism. Peaceful protests that everyone sees and that cannot be spun. This is where we hit him, loudly and publicly, and everywhere he goes. The court of public opinion is the only one 45 cares about. BOOOOOOOOOOOO mofo, BOOOOOOOOOOO

    • Esmom says:

Right on, Luna. This isn’t Twitter or Fox and Friends where Trump continually retreats to his safe spaces full of fawning Deplorables. This is real life and I hope he and Junior felt terrible.

And Schumer’s tweet made me cough up some Grape Nuts, lol.

      • (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

Who knew Chuck had such a great sense of humor, right?? Standing O for Sen. Schumer!!

      • Jerusha says:

Junior is not capable of feeling terrible, imo. Nothing can penetrate his bubble of ignorance. He will be spewing that ignorance on CBS Morning Show on Tuesday.🤮🤮🤮🤮Why, why, why?

      • holly hobby says:

That wasn’t jr but the forgotten Trump bro Eric. No wonder SNL pokes fun of them being dumb. Here he is smiling through the boos while McCarthy looked pained.

Kevin McCarthy do you want to throw away your career for this orange criminal?

    • Liz version 700 says:

Exactly Luna! We make sure he hears boos every time he dares to show up outside his Fox and Friends safe-space. We let him, his gross deplorables, his enablers and the world know he and his hate and cruelty and casual treason are not wanted. Booooooooooo all damn day boooooooo.

  2. Ali says:

    Double post, sorry.

  3. Aang says:

I think I read once that baseball demographics skew higher income and more educated (also whiter) than football or baseball. And that it has more Jewish fans than the other two. (Just dropping this info here to add another layer to the context of the baseball booing).

    • aang says:

      should read football or basketball

    • Smalltown Girl says:

That surprises me since I have paid for both football and baseball tickets 😂 baseball tickets are far less expensive.

    • Kelly says:

That also surprises me as well. I have relatives that go to both collegiate and professional sporting events more than a couple times a year, and the pro baseball tickets are both the most affordable and easiest to get. They also have said that it’s also the most economic when it comes to food and non alcoholic drinks, because the Brewers allow you to bring in pre-made food and water, which saves a lot of money.

    • Kate says:

Also worth noting he visited a World Series game so most people there probably paid more than the standard ticket price.

  4. Jerusha says:

I’m surprised his bastard son, Drunk Gaetz, wasn’t there grinning his fat face off. Oh well, maybe next time.

  5. Rogue says:

I’m so happy! Hope these people don’t just boo- make sure you vote!

  6. Lightpurple says:

They thought he would be welcomed as a hero but he got the Bronx cheer. Eric and Junior are trying to spin it as a positive but those videos say otherwise. And he looked livid. They encased him in a bubble for too long and he had no idea how despised he is. Truth hurts.

    • Esmom says:

Yeah, I just made the mistake of looking at Junior’s Twitter and he insists the boos are “fake news.” By the BBC. And I just noticed his book title is called “Triggered.” When I thought it wasn’t possible to loathe his punk ass any more than I already do.

    • minx says:

Junior’s spin was laughable—you can see the truth in Trump’s expression. He got booed, he’s mad and he can’t do anything about it.

    • Tate says:

Eric is having a tantrum on twitter. They really had no idea how hated they are.

    • Carol says:

Frankly, I heard more cheers than boos. I’ve seen other videos of the event and barely heard any boos. Trump deserves a stadium of boos.

  7. Ali says:

I’m a baseball fan and I take offense to being thought of as a Trump supporter because of it.

If we’re going to generalize a sport’s fan, NASCAR fans are his people.

    • Kaiser says:

Yeah I forgot about NASCAR, because I forget that NASCAR is considered a “sport” tbh

    • Nic919 says:

And he hates NASCAR. It’s glorious. The only people who like him are the ones he hates.

      • Lorelei says:

@Nic919 that’s exactly it. The people who have always and will always hate him are the ones he craves approval from the most.

      • Liz version 700 says:

At least at a NASCAR event the sound of the engines would drown out any boos lol

    • Lila says:

Agreed. I’d like to see what might happen at NASCAR.
Also, UFC fan demographics are actually pretty in line with the wider population and it skews younger than “established” sports. I get why people would think this would be his crowd, but it’s not. And, as has been pointed out, it’s NYC. Did Trump’s flunkies think MSG would be filled with folks from deep red areas?

      • Wisca says:

UFC fans are very diverse and include many disciplined martial artists who range from conservative to socialist to anarchist. The level of skill and toughness is almost immeasurable. My ex-husband was a judoka and my son a jiu jitsu player and these folks are complex and hard to situate politically. And of course NYC despises Trump (except perhaps Staten Island).

    • Antonym says:

My parents are NASCAR fans. They believe in equality. They practice kindness. They support and foster inclusion. I’d like to think they wouldn’t be the only ones booing if this idiot showed up at a race.

(Side note: yes, there are big environmental concerns regarding NASCAR. I’ve definitely talked to my parents about them, and I think they’re receptive—it’s just not an overnight change for them.)

  8. Ct Mom says:

IMO the booing has absolutely nothing to do with the sport rather it’s the geography. I wonder if he’d get the same reaction in one of the states he won in 2016…?

    • Esmom says:

It also shows how dishonest Trump is about moving from NY to FL. He trashed NY left and right on his way out the door, yet he clearly still longs to be accepted there.

      • Jaded says:

Yup…the only reason he hates NY is because he’s NEVER been accepted there and never will. He’s a pariah to the real movers and shakers there.

    • Isabelle says:

Not at his rallies as they will be full of his supporters. He wont be visiting places other than where people support him.

      • Carmen says:

That why he keeps having those rallies. They are the only events where he can get the adulation he constantly craves.

    • SamC says:

Totally agree; he’s loathed in the DC area and most NYr’s, of all income levels and despite that he really is a native New Yorker, think of him as a tacky, gaudy, fraudster. It’s well known he desperately wanted/wants to be in with the quiet, old money society set and, well that’s not going to ever happen.

I doubt he would have received the same reaction in other areas, ie a NASCAR race in the south as others have noted.

      • Patrizio says:

Hated in NYC. Everyone knows someone who he cheated, and ended up receiving less than what was CONTRACTED, which makes it all the more confusing in regards to his base. Just got my 401k statements- lost money again. Live in the south now, and everyhing is going up- $. People are working 2-3 jobs and just barely making it- but he and his Goldman-Sachs buddies (who have wisely deserted him), made sure the 1% got their tax break. Have a work associate- nice woman, not what I would have considered stupid- well educated. I asked her this week how she thought “her guy” was doing? She informed he was draining the swamp just like he promised. I was just astonished.

  9. tmbg says:

I want to go to one of these events and bring a bullhorn to amplify my booing.

  10. (TheOG)@Jan90067 says:

    Music to my ears!

    “🎶 It’s a beautiful day in the neighbourhood….”.

    God bless New Yorkers!

  11. minx says:

He’s wearing the same thing he wore to the World Series—his gigantic dark suit, white shirt and clownish long red tie—to (he thinks) hide his fat a**. Obama used to dress in cool casual at sporting events.

    • Rapunzel says:

Trump only does suits or golf outfits. I can’t even imagine him in anything cool casual.

      • minx says:

And he only does golf outfits because he has to, he can’t wear a suit coat while golfing. He hates showing his pudgy physique.

      • Lorelei says:

Seriously, have we EVER seen him in anything other than either a suit and tie or his golfing clothes? The man is just bizarre in every possible way a human being can be.

    • holly hobby says:

This is the same man who punched Jr in the face for daring to wear casual clothes to a football game. So no he doesn’t own dad jeans.

  12. Rapunzel says:

NASCAR is the Trumpiest sport, imo.

His facial expressions and the telling fact that he again left early (and sent Jr. to lie) shows he clearly didn’t see it as a friendly welcome, like at his rallies.

  13. DaisySharp says:

I was really surprised about this. Could it be that even white dudes don’t like presidents who collude with foreign dictators? You’d never know it from the elected GOP’ers but could it be patriotism is not dead??

  14. BlueSky says:

NY residents HATE him! Always have. I have family who still live up there and people have no problem saying “F@ck your father!” anytime they see one of his spawns.

    • DaisySharp says:

I live on LI and that’s not true in Suffolk County, which is trump country. I honestly don’t have a feel for whether or not that’s turned. Because I dropped trump supporters from my life.

      • Lorelei says:

Suffolk County is positively full of Trump supporters. Most people (oh god I sound like him) wouldn’t think so since it’s so close to NYC, but it’s a different universe. There are liberal patches, mostly out east, but there’s quite a bit of trash.

      • sara says:

I think Bluesky means NYC residents, not NYS.

      • Lucky says:

I live in southwest Brooklyn and there are plenty Trump supporters here, unfortunately. Across the bridge in Staten Island as well 🙄

    • Andrea says:

My father is from two counties north of NYC and definitely like him. He is wealthy and lives in a wealthy city and therefore, wants to hang onto his money. That’s why he supports Trump. It is disgusting.

      • BlueSky says:

@Sara,Yep I’m referring to NYC. I know it’s a little different upstate NY.

      • VS says:

There are a lot of wealthy people who despise him; not all wealthy people think “taxes are bad”, “taxes are terrible”, etc…..there is a fair level we need to reach of course but all loopholes have to be closed; that’s the problem and always has been. Taxes can be at x% but if there are loopholes to avoid them, people will take advantages of them; that’s what VERY GOOD tax experts are for……….

      • Bumble says:

Andrea I’m so sorry to hear that- it’s got to be hard for you. It makes me sad that he’s more interested in holding onto his money than the environment left for his descendants, not to mention civil rights across the board.
My family is Italian american and from that area too-and although my parents are Democrats, a lot of the family are staunch republicans. I just don’t get how people who were immigrants- and had to work for years to get equal footing in the states, can deny the chance for a better life to other immigrants. They were only legal immigrants bc of the laws then- under Drumph they would be denied as they came in penniless!

      • Andrea says:

@bumble My father is 2nd generation Italian American too. He is highly influenced by his buddies who aren’t as wealthy as he. He also lives in a fairly wealthy small town in Ny that I do not consider upstate since it is a high population county and is not rural in the least.

    • moco says:

Trump has support in upstate NY, but not like he should based on how rural it is. Trump has been all over New York news for decades, mostly as a corrupt real estate buffoon, so they see through him in a way others in his voting demographic do not.

      • Lorelei says:

Long Island is full of wealthy people who despise him and would never admit that they voted for him but they absolutely do because of the tax cuts. It’s disgusting.

  15. Rapunzel says:

He’s retweeting people spreading the lie that he was mostly cheered. So we know it’s not true. Hilariously, the one retweet with a video is full of- you guessed it- boos. Some Magimbo (MAGA bimbo) thought she was proving he was cheered, by posting a video of him.. not being cheered.

If he wasn’t actually in power, this would be comedy gold.

  16. Lightpurple says:

Could someone please convince him to drop the puck at a Philadelphia Flyers game?

    • Frida_K says:

Oh my Goddess, that would be a golden moment. It would be balm for the soul, amiga, BALM FOR THE SOUL.

      • Lightpurple says:

Palin thought she would be safe there because she brought little kids. They proved her wrong. They have a reputation to uphold. Trump would spontaneously combust and leave an orange mark on the ice.

    • Lady D says:

I’m a major hockey fan, I watch 4-5 games weekly, but don’t pay much attention to Eastern Div. teams unless we’re playing them. I did not know this about the Flyers fans. It makes me want to be one. The only thing I know about them is I don’t like their (sorry) ugly orange home game jerseys. Way prefer the black ones or the away game jerseys. Now I have to go google my new team.

      • Lightpurple says:

Flyers fans are notorious. They boo everyone and everything, including the zamboni. Their own players aren’t safe. They throw stuff, lots of stuff, on the ice

  17. JanetFerber says:

Good. I hate that f-cker well and truly. Loved the dig Andrew Cuomo gave him when he announced he’d be moving to Florida (where many other criminals have fled) instead of New York when his tenure as president is over (please, God, make that soon). Why the jerk had to come to NY during the marathon, I think, was pure spite, to make the logistics for this day even more impossible and stressful for New York government. This turd destroys everything in his path and makes bank from it. Motherf-cker.

  18. Who ARE These People? says:

Love it. Only problem is the use of the word “bitch” to describe him. There are so many better insults that don’t drag a pejorative for righteous women into it.

    • Jane'sWastedTalent says:

Love a lot of your posts Who ARE, but I have to disagree here. Bitches can be male or female, have been for some time already. Same with sluts- guys have been called sluts too since the 80s at least. I think just de-genderizing these words is the way to go.

  19. Beech says:

What lovely news that gteeted me this morning! Orange orange prick face didn’t lie.

  20. Valiantly Varnished says:

Lololol. Bitch needs to stay home. 😂😂

  21. Bella DuPont says:

    “The bitch got booed”

    😂😂😂😂😂

  22. hnmmom says:

My husband told me this morning that I swear too much. I am now going to use the phrase “cathartic language” in my defense. And I spent my extra hour this morning watching these videos over and over. Best use of time ever, imo.

    • Giddy says:

HA! My husband says the same thing, because I can’t resist yelling “F**ker” every time I see him in his orange lard-ass glory on our TV. I recently bought a t-shirt for my wonderful 3 year old grandson. It said “In My Defense I Was Left Unsupervised.” My husband said he is going to have one made for me in adult size!

      • dj says:

My husband laughed so hard Giddy’s comment. Shows you were my language has gone! Your grandson must be adorable in his tee shirt. Plus, I need that shirt too.

    • Lorelei says:

Me too. Thank you Kaiser! It’s my new favorite expression. It’s perfect.

  23. Suz says:

NYC has hated Trump for decades. DC is largely a Democrat city. None of this is surprising. It is however music to my ears. Duck Frump.

  24. Golly Gee says:

“Well, that blew up in his fat orange face.”
    😂😂😂😂😂
Who carved that pumpkin’s frowny face? UFC fans, thats who! I wonder if Melania calls him “pumpkin” as a passive aggressive endearment.

    • minx says:

Remember a couple of months ago he said lightbulbs were making him look orange? 🤣 If anything, he’s looking MORE orange every day.

  25. redheadwriter says:

Someone smarter than me answer this. If 45 moves his residence from NY to Florida, does that have any impact on criminal investigations by the NY Attorney General? Is he avoiding potential prosecution because he feels “safer” and less threatened by criminal probes in Florida?

    • Filmgirl says:

Nope. It won’t protect him from being prosecuted for tax evasion he committed while he was a NY resident.

    • Lightpurple says:

It doesn’t protect him. Florida will extradite to NY, but it protects some property assets. I think Florida has some homestead provisions that New York doesn’t have so if they seize property, some real estate will be protected

      • holly hobby says:

FL can’t protect him from the IRS. I think when all of this is over, the IRS will work him over like a bitch. Forfeiture doesn’t mess around.

    • Dara says:

It won’t protect him, but it could protect some of his assets. In Florida, I believe someone’s primary residence is exempt from asset forfeiture. There’s a value cap, but I think it’s obscenely higher than in any other state. The kicker is you can only claim the exemption if you are a legal resident of the state. Ergo – Donald Trump the Floridian.

    • Reece says:

I bet in his mind it does but as everyone before me said no it doesn’t.

  26. Bumble says:

    You are exactly right, MOCO

  27. MeghanNotMarkle says:

Good. Boo him and his trash family all the way to jail.

  28. Boodiba says:

Ha ha!!! It’s New York City baby.

  29. Jessica says:

Trump couldn’t spring for Eric to get braces? Yikes.

    • minx says:

All of his children are unfortunate looking. Really a bad gene pool.

      • Lorelei says:

I mean, look at what Donald’s parents looked like. His kids actually got relatively lucky IMO because their grandparents are truly terrifying looking. (I would not normally say this about anyone but this family is the exception to every rule.)

  30. Jay (the Canadian one) says:

He got nearly half the vote plus or minus. That means there’s also plenty of white males who didn’t vote for him, plus it’s New York who hate his guts. So, satisfying but not surprising.

Same deal in Washington and the baseball game (where there were also some cheering, to be fair).

    • Jane'sWastedTalent says:

He got less than a quarter of the vote- half the people didn’t bother to vote, and Hillary (perhaps the most maligned, least popular democrat) won the majority by three million. I notice a lot of people saying similar things about him getting half the vote lately, and we shouldn’t be buying into that thinking, because it will only make it easier to accept defeat, and if we are defeatist that will embolden him to try to steal the election again.

PS- A lot of Republicans hate him too, but most of them have left the party. It would be interesting to compare GOP membership numbers from 2015 to now (it’s shrunk dramatically), maybe be able to derive some general numbers of how hated he is.

  31. Mumbles says:

I was very pleasantly surprised to learn this happened. If any “sport” would be Trump fans, it would be UFC – it’s basically for people who enjoy watching poor people kicking each other in the head. Plus Dana White, who runs it, is a big MAGA, and its biggest star Conor McGregor is an alleged rapist who just pleaded to beating up an elderly man in Ireland. I frankly thought they were going to cheer for Trump, and that Trump’s appearance here was designed to counter the booing at the baseball game. They were counting on a warm welcome.

    • Smalltown Girl says:

Your description of UFC had me laughing out loud and might be the most accurate thing I have ever read. And yes, I think he thought this would be an easy media win and nope.

  32. CuriousCole says:

Yes, MMA fighting is indeed a sport, full of complex techniques that take years upon years to master. It’s very clear that None of the shady comments about this sport or UFC fans were left by people who train in kickboxing or jiu jitsu. If any of you did train, you’d see that the gym/fighter demographics run the gamut of ethnicity and political thinking. Are there idiots? Yep. Are there “woke” individuals who frequent Trump-related protests? Hell yes.

The appalling garbage fire that is Dana White, and his former golden boy Conor, is worthy of all condemnation, (and I could vent about them ALL day) but they seem to have confused the fight-illiterate masses into thinking we’re all of that mindset. No, they certainly do not represent every UFC fan.
If you’re looking for an alternative to UFC/Dana White, check out Invicta Fighting Championships (all women) or Bellator.

    • anon says:

Co-signing this. When I started training, there were some people who I assumed would be super conservative, but they are some of the most progressive people I know. And I live in a red state with a high number of Trump supporters. I’ve found that, more often than not, politics don’t come up in the gym. In fact, I really only ever talk politics with my trainers during private sessions and that’s because I work in that field (and they’re both anti-Trump).

    • Jane'sWastedTalent says:

But you guys are talking about the athletes- it’s the audience that seems like they would be MAGA.

  33. Original T.C. says:

It’s nice to see the media narrative of the average White man being a Trump supporter challenged in glorious fashion. Even if he gets out of impeachment, he will be justifiably considered a booing target for the remainder of his miserable life.

  34. HiHat says:

Yes, and all those Republicans who defend Trump or hold their silence when he commits despicable acts should all get booed in public wherever they appear as well. It is time to boot all these craven miscreants out of office and restore our democracy and the rule of law!

    • cheche says:

Well McConnell was greeted with chants of Moscow Mitch at a recent speech, so yeah, let’s make this a daily occurrence. The far right/evangelicals have been making all the noise. Time to remind these cowards there are other voters out here. And vote! In every election city, county, state and national!

  35. Emily says:

It’s not so much the sporting event, that has nothing to do with it at all. It’s all about the location and the demographics of that location. I am from NY and lived in NYC for several years. New York HATES Trump, that’s a huge duh. It’s a liberal city and his tower is an eyesore. The few that support him remain silent for fear of being massacred. So of course got Trump got booed at Madison Square Garden, an iconic NYC location. That’s not surprising at all. It would have been more of a story if the crowd celebrated him lol.

  36. Lorelei says:

I just saw on Twitter that apparently he’s threatening to shut down the government unless the impeachment is stopped. I am so tired of this asshole and his BS every single day of our lives.

  37. virginfangirls says:

Glad to see people speaking up against this deplorable human being. I would love to be invited to the White House just so I could spit on him.

  38. Liz version 700 says:

I always assumed that Eric was kinda dumb. But his oblivious face…wow just wow

  39. A says:

Someone I know told me this story about how, years ago, when Stephen Harper was still PM of Canada, he came to a soccer game somewhere in Vancouver and sat in the audience with bodyguard/security person. The person who told me this story told me that they went up to Harper, said hello, and then said, “Mr. Harper, I don’t agree with your policies one bit.”

That’s a democracy. Being able to go up to the elected leader of the country and tell them, to their face, that you disagree with them. I was really impressed by this. I always try to remind myself never to vote for someone based on their personality, but their policies. Politicians are not hired to be my friend. They are hired to do a job. I also always try to tell myself that even if it is a politician I’ve voted for, there’s nothing that should conceivably stop me from being critical and holding them accountable for what I think they might be doing wrong. I feel like the world would be better served if we stopped voting for politicians based on things like how much we like them or how charismatic they come across. Politics is the last place where those types of things should matter, and yet it’s the one place where things of that nature seem to matter the most.

All this to say, f-ck Trump.

  40. Maaite says:

Ok, so I definitely heard the boos that the world series game. And while I heard a few loud boos from individuals in these videos, it wasn’t suuuper clear that the whole stadium was booing on this one. I’ve tried listening to them several times but it just seems like a raucous crowd, not a cacophony of boos. I wish I could hear it! Ahhh maybe I need to get my ears checked 😂

  41. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

I’m telling ya, he’s making America great again lol. Warms my heart hearing boos and f-you’s. His addled genius baby brain is exploding. So satisfying.
